1- on a new race….if there is a new one it should be mostly humanish in build. Think Charr clipping issues are bad? Tengu will be exceptionally bad. I’d honestly go with Kodan if they give us a new race. (Personally I’d prefer Largos, but again….clipping.)
2- Personally I like the interaction as is. But I don’t like the busy playstyles myself.
3- We do need one more heavy armor class (to make it 3 like medium/light) and I’d personally like to see a counterpart to the guardian….something like a Dark Templar.
4- I’ll just be happy with more and varied content. I like the difficulty where it is. (again personal opinion)
5- Yes. Totally want new (lvl 80 only) zones and I love what we’re getting from Dry Top and can’t wait to see more!
Working as intended. This is not a bug.
There is also a skritt back in the undermarket area that will give you a Hall of Monuments Portal Stone.
Just remember you have to buy Eye of the North as well as the base game for GW1 in order to get access to the HoM to link accounts.
More info: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Hall_of_Monuments
I want a mainhand focus just so I can dual wield beer mugs
Mainhand Moonshine so you can refill that mug
But I’d love more damage options for the offhand weapons so it doesn’t take forever for the weapon master achievements.
Wolfie! Stahp! What are you doing?!
Wolfie, noooooo!!
Here is the wolfie in video form….OMG Those hind legs!
And for posterity the watchknight video as well
Well I did it again this morning by myself and it worked. I made sure to clear the vines on the way to the cave as those kept killing one of the guys I had to save, but as soon as I told the 7th person to retreat the achievement popped. (Just remember the number to save scales up if you have more than one person in your party and only the instance owner can talk to them.)
I think it’s more that they’re wanting to overhaul it in the future but at the moment they’ve got other things they’re working on and fixing underwater combat is on the back burner (hence no new underwater weapons).
I honestly love underwater combat (I made Kraitkin and am working on Frenzy…so yeah I like underwater) and hope that it isn’t too far in the future that they work on underwater combat and we get to see Bubbles and more of the Largos.
My husband and I did it as well and we finished the instance and even there at the end we still had the buff for the achievement but it didn’t trigger. Going to try it yet again but I think this one is bugged too.
Edit: Tried it again this morning and I got the achievement as soon as the instance finished. No idea why it bugged out and didn’t grant it to me and my husband before. shrug
(edited by khani.4786)
Same for my husband and myself. We’ve tried it duo (saved 12 or 13…but it was definitely all of them), and tried it solo and both times no achievement.
I just need one insect. I haven’t been grinding for it, though, I simply took part in a couple of T4 runs and used keys from the LS.
However, as I was able to buy the shortbow recipe thanks to those T4’s, I have to report something sad. You don’t just need the insect, guys. You also need the Nomad’s inscription (for the shortbow, it’s Nomad’s Imbued Orichalcum Inscription) … and that is also RNG account bound from the Drytop chests.
So I have all the mats sitting on my Huntsman, just waiting for the insect AND the inscription recipe to drop during whatever time I can be in Drytop during a sandstorm while holding keys.
You buy the inscription with your geodes. The recipes that drop are for the Nomad/Ventari weapons & armor.
Nevermind all the other rewards you got from opening all of those chests.
Sorry, this just screams entitlement to me.
Maybe it does, and that is your opinion. How would you feel if every hour in map chat you see people talk about the fossils dropped, while you agonize away at something you don’t really enjoy?
And as for the other rewards, lets see, I now have more dragonite ore than I’ll ever need, a few obsidian shards, a lot of champ bags, and a few exotics which were nice to sell. Its not that bad, but if I cared about money with this, I could easily just do dungeons and make 4 times as much in the same amount of time.
Anyway yeah, I’ve given up on these weapons, which is a shame since I thought they were really cool, but I’m just burnt out from the events and not knowing how much more of a grind I would have left to do.
You’ve gotten exotics from the chests/Dry Top? I haven’t :P
I like that the bugs are acquired from the new zone, but I hate that they’re from chests which are not affected by MF. IF they were actual drops then they might be more common, but seriously? They’re account bound why would it matter if someone with 200+ MF gets a bunch? To place them in chests which just requires pure dumb luck to get one really isn’t nice. My husband is trying to get bugs to make the weapon(s) he wants and I just wish I could give him one that I found.
RNG has been a thorn in our side since the game launched.
Maybe not hearts. If you look at the level 75 to 80 maps already in place, none of them have hearts.
Frostgorge Sound has hearts….
Been happening all evening. In Dungeons, Plains of Ashford, Dry Top, Lion’s Arch….every where. No where is safe from lag or disconnects.
Trying to log into the game with " /clientport 80 ….login error
Trying to log in normally without the port test ….login error
If I manage to get logged in constant skill lag, lag skips, disconnects…until this gets fixed the game is unplayable.
I"m still in the game, but I’m dead way off from where my game shows me and I can’t waypoint or do anything….Stuck in AC with some friends.
This is getting ridiculous. SO frustrating.
I love the design of the mace….but kittenroach. Nope nope nope nope and a whole nother bag of nopes.
What was funny the first time I went through was with my husband (asura) and I was Sylvari. It was his story and my cut scene where it should have been my face all I saw was my chest XD
Will we get Venatri’s gear (Nomad Stats) added to the Healer’s or Defender’s Ascended chests?
example:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Healer%27s_Chest_of_Ascended_Coats
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Defender%27s_Chest_of_Ascended_Gloves
:p
I call that good news (as my RNG luck is total crap). Still missing the heavy scarf & light goggles and can’t afford to buy them, so at least I can keep looking!
Now he’s dead and no more shall you need to moisten him….until he’s buried underground and we can plant flowers on his grave, then we just need to water the flowers.
The Thrashers also look like a “thing”.
Thrashers remind me of Iboga from GW1
So the other day my husband was roaming Sparkfly Fen and he saw the Champion Risen Juggernaut….. He stayed out of aggro range and was watching it as it went after a skelk….
Juggernaut says “Zhaitan demands your death!!”
then it swoops down and kills the one lone skelk.
Apparently Skelk are a huge threat to Zhaitain.
Out of curiosity..what is the title you get?
I think that refers to EU vs US not different servers within those two regions.
Pssst. it’s “vine”
Veins are something else entirely.
You will get the tickets and your chest from the Battle Historian in one of the wvw maps.
There was an issue with rewarding chests so tickets given out previously were voided and people needed to visit the historian to receive their rewards.
I hate Wooden Potatoes.
I don’t hate the guy, but he does bore the pants off me. :P
I’ve tried listening but I just can’t, just drones on forever.
I’ve always thought the arena in the black citadel would be a nice GvG arena.
Players go to an Arena Guard
Guard allows 15 players from each side
This would mean that two guilds who live on the same server could compete against one another.
Mode options:
Total elimination last man standing
Conquest/Point based
???
Plus that arena has a viewing area. It would be neat and I’d prefer to watch on the sidelines rather than through another person like you do in spvp.
“The Living Story is unlocked for my whole account, despite the fact that I only completed it with one character.”
Yes
" But the achievements, which are account wide, can only be accessed and completed on a per-character basis once that character has finished the Living Story once."
Yes to the bonus achievements that are unlocked once you finish the story. If you complete the story on additional characters you will get the story rewards on every character (just like personal story rewards)
“Dry Top will remain as-is, since it’s got region achievements and is necessary to access the Living Story chapters.”
99% sure yes.
“Geodes and the respective vendors will remain in Dry Top as well.”
As far as we know
“On 7/15, we’ll simply get the next installment of the Living World Story, which will probably open up another section of Maguuma, but not reconfigure the existing Dry Top (for reasons mentioned above).”
As far as we know, yes. We don’t know if we’ll get new sections/zones or not, but it is likely.

Keep the toast dark side down, and keep your carnishing arms strong!

Yes please! I can’t even damage the bridges with my attacks so I’d love to not auto target the darned things!
If you’ve bought other T2 Sylvari armor before, then that category was already credited to “The Emperor’s New Wardrobe” and “Sylvari Specialty Armors” with your first purchase.
If not, then I don’t know.I have bought T2 before, but another weight-class (light armor)
It doesn’t matter what weight class. You need 6 unique armor pieces from each Tier. 6 Tier 1, 6 Tier 2, 6 Tier 3 for each race. If you purchased Tier 2 before, then you have already fulfilled that requirement, and can not get credit again.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/The_Emperor%27s_New_Wardrobe
That.
It also needs to be mentioned that their definition of unique is head, shoulder, chest, gloves, pants, and boots.
Do not do like I did and try to buy boots & shoulders for t3 for multiple weight classes. the unique skins do not count as unique for purposes of the achievement. The wording of the achievement is indeed vague and can be interpreted wrong but I don’t know how to word it better without making it extremely wordy.
Souldbund 18 pieces of unique _ cultural armor.
Really means :
Soulbind one piece of head, shoulder, chest, gloves, pants and boots of any weight class from each tier of cultural armor (18 total pieces).
Even then I’m sure my wording could still be interpreted wrongly.
“For Grape Justice!”
Actually it’s “4 Grape Juices!” ^^
I just noticed today, the hyenas make this noise when you are fighting them that sounds like “Stop it!”
Well when you’re hitting a golem I hear them say “Error Code”
they appear to share a skin with other sets so I would say no.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mad_King_Chest_%28exotic%29
Light > Primitive
Medium > Buccaneer
Heavy > Dark Templar
So the Mad King gloves do not have a unique skin and you may already have one or all of these skins unlocked.
Im pretty happy with how the forge is really. Grats on your good luck run.
~looks at signature~
“Skjold Pjod – TC [BOMB] [NvUs] [GoNe]
I am “That” guy you have all heard about.
294 Precursors forged and counting.”
~Cries forever~
294 precursors to one account, grats to you but kitten to us.
Khani, thank you for putting in the effort to do some testing. You’ve factored in system performance issues, but you’re still a person with good jumping capability.(right?) I’m sure that I would not be able to make those jumps at that frame rate.(I have a hard enough time with them at the normal frame rate.) I actually have made those jumps myself, unassisted. But with fairly normal frame rates, and only occasional weird lag. Lightning pull has glitched on me several times, but not so badly that my character has died from it. So I’m lucky – I have low jumping capability, but generally acceptable system performance, with occasional lag. So I can get by.(on most of the jumps I’ve tried) But if I had poorer system performance, or a poorer internet connection. Or if I was even worse at jumping, it could arrest my progress in the Living Story instances.(Which, in fact, I have not yet completed.)
Thank you again for putting in the time and effort to do some research, and for respectfully communicating your point. But can you see my point as well? Some people have more difficulties stacked against them than I do. I’m trying to speak for them as well. Also, I haven’t completed episode 1 of LS S2 yet. There may be harder jumps that I can’t make. Why must these be required for Living Story?(Which has been represented as mainstream content.)
Thank you for stepping up and doing the testing. And for being respectful in your post.
You’re right, I am good at jumping puzzles in the first place, but personally I still can’t see how these few jumps to get into the zone and work on the puzzle are stopping people.
I completely agree that the lightning pull borks and even on my actual gaming computer with a good 70-90fps I’d get overshot (which is why I now aim just under where I want to go)….that’s not a hardware issue, that is an issue with that one particular skill.
Having done all of the living story stuff so far I can say that the final boss I stood on a rock and ranged him. I didn’t bother trying to go from one rock to another and his shield thing that you were supposed to use the light dash to break him out of eventually went away and I didn’t have to deal with that part (I heard the dialogue ‘hey use this’ but never saw what they meant).
Could I do all of the living story (not the bonus achievements) with a bad computer and lag? Yes, I believe I could. It wouldn’t be very much fun as I know what it’s like to do it on a good computer without lag.
At the end of the day you have to ask yourself if you’re having fun playing Guild Wars 2. If the answer to that is anything other than yes then you need to examine why you’re here. I love this game, I find it fun and while there are aspects of this game that really tick me off (whole other topic that I’m tired of venting about), overall, I’m still having fun and will continue on trekking through the adventure.
re: 2 or 3 ludicrously simple jumps – To those who have good, stable internet connections, and who find jumping easy – Yes, they are simple. But to those of us who have poorer internet connections, or who find jumping difficult or who can’t jump – they aren’t so simple. Please be open minded. We aren’t asking for jumping type content to be taken out. Only that it please be optional for mainstream content. Are we all in agreement that open world and Living Story Season 2 are mainstream content, while jumping puzzles and special are achievements are not? Why should jumping and jumping-type moves be restricting access to a new map and Living Story Season 2? Meanwhile, people are getting ported for the JP on a regular basis.
Elden, you’re one of the most vocal I’ve seen on this and so I tested this.
I tried getting from the Dry Top Entry waypoint to Prosperity waypoint on a Charr (one of the worst for jumping) with 5-9 FPS and it was very doable. Terribly clunky and you can see the Assisted Leap I didn’t make it the first time because I wasn’t facing the right way, but now after doing it myself in some of the worst conditions I could possibly recreate on my own, I can see that many people are complaining just because things are a little harder than they would like.
It took me 2 minutes to get from point A to point B because I took my time and didn’t try to rush it. And here is the video of me doing it…
It is a level 80 zone, gives those of us that have done everything else somewhere new and provides a slight challenge for those willing to push through it. I see no restrictions to anyone wanting to get into the map.
Woohoo, finally Giant Eyes will be
farmableavailable… maybe.
Giant Eyes don’t even drop from the current giants in the game. Not risen giants either.
I wish they did, it was insane trying to get a full stack of them. o.o
If the twitter feed was ON THEIR PAGE maybe more people would see these things.
I don’t twitter and I never will. I follow their page on the official site. CROSS POST these things. Dangit
There’s an even longer video on the official news page (and also linked from the client)
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/entanglement-begins-july-15/
I saw it well after I first posted that, so my first comment stands. BUT it is an awesome video and I love the teasers. Can’t wait!
Just tired of teasers and other bits of info not making it to the main site first. I don’t follow twitter, facebook, tumblr, instragram, myspace, reddit, etc. etc. etc. I want an information hub that pulls info posted to those places back here.
Queensdale has the Shadow Behemoth.
Wayfarer Foothills has The Frozen Maw
Caledon Forest has the Jungle Wurm
Metrica Province has the Fire Elemental
Plains of Ashford? Nothing.
Why is there no world boss in the Charr starting area?
If the twitter feed was ON THEIR PAGE maybe more people would see these things.
I don’t twitter and I never will. I follow their page on the official site. CROSS POST these things. Dangit
What do you get when you put a mini Logan Thackery and a Mini Queen Jennah into the forge?
You get a mini Dead Snaff!
I leveled my last character from 1-80 in just over 21 hours of gameplay. Popped a lvl 20 scroll then zerged in EoTM to like lvl 76 then walked thru zones gathering and grabbing waypoints. Boom lvl 80.
I got silky sand in the Aetherblade fractal >.<
Or at least tell me if a food item is going to be account bound before I get the recipe >.<
well there are story achievements (hardcore) and zone achievements (casuals)
Several of the zone achievements are rather hard such as the JP and the diving one.
The JP zone achievement is tricky, but one of the story achievements is to do it without the benefit of wind aspects. I managed to get to where the second aspect would have been, but couldn’t figure out how to get any higher.
Bog Otter has an awesome video showing how to get it (spoiler free)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=haGWSJz7FiI
Did you try clearing out your pick up queue in the trading post?
“Kormir”
Yah okay, good one you guys. Next thing you’ll be telling me is that we lost the Guild Wars.
Well Kormir IS a god, and before her it was Abaddon. There have always been Six Gods.
And funny that you should mention the Guild Wars, because humans actually DID lose the Guild Wars (which were human-only btw) due to the Charr invasions.
Some people just don’t know the GW lore. There ARE 6 gods.
Perhaps, but I still don’t recognize Kormir….no one liked her!
Click to move. You click a spot and your character automatically goes there.,
I hated that part of GW1, do not want.
But to the OP, yes to all of that. Sounds like some things we need.
