The biggest problem here is people like Kurrilino assuming it’s just so easy to “open” up a map for us to explore.
The whole team at ANet worked hard to do living story season/chapter 1 and right at the end they had to work to release the entire game in a new region. No where in their busy schedules did they have time to release anything new besides the WvW Tournament. Heaven forbid they take a little bit of a breather so they could look back at the first part of living story, see what worked, what didn’t so they can work to make Season 2 so very much better.
(Also Dwarf = 1; Dwarves = more than 1 Dwarf)
And streaks are needed. I know that was a topic a while back. Heck let’s combine it…green hair with blue streaks!!!
My Asura Mesmer has purple hair with Green Streaks. (Male Asura style kit exclusive style….the streaks are the “accessory” color)

There’s your official announce.
They’re not permanently gone (probably) , but they will be off the vendor for quite a while. Long enough i wouldn’t even hazard a guess at a bring-back date.
Like any store, we’ll be regularly rotating out sets that are out of season or not popular to keep the vendor from overloading too many tabs.
Thank you for the official announcement and date for when they’re going away….but why post it several days earlier on facebook? I only saw it because a guildmate pointed it out.
Also, I’m glad that they’re not (probably) going away forever, but still sad they’re going away for now.
Still wish that the cost would go down to 1 ticket per each for now until the removal date so that there would be more than 1-2 of each on the trading post…
had this happen in fractals a week or so ago…the instance owner got disconnected due to a power outage and we were all kicked out during the third fractal >.<
Beside that i can guarantee you that the maps are already created and they just appear blurry to us.
No company would be stupid enough to leave everyhting empty just to figure out what to do laterAre you serious?
IKR? This isn’t just well-crafted trolling, is it?
I think he’s never gone void jumping and seen the end of the map… there is absolutely nothing there. It is a flat nothing. The maps are not already created. The OP clearly does not understand how the game works.
I’ve also seen a mithril spawn spot in Mount Maelstrom that is just beyond the line that pushes you back
You’ve hit a strong current and if you continue you’ll be pushed back
But I want the Mithril..I see it, it’s right there
gets pushed back
Nuuuuuu!
The very southernmost area on the right side of the map is where I’ve seen it.
I would assume that they will not be linked as they will likely have different versions of some items (Deathwish, Deathly Pauldrons…anything with skulls on it). Because of their cultural differences items with human skulls on it are forbidden and as such they’d have different appearances. So their items, trading post and gem store should be separate unless there is some server sorcery that renders each object based on a person’s location.
Just my guess on this.
I would love that too
Kraitkin is the only one that fits the “theme” of a necromancer and you can’t even use it as a staff skin.
Still by far one of my favorite legendary weapons in terms of appearance.
LOL—snuck that mount issue in again-it’s a dead horse.

Hey there, Cinderfang. What my friend Mr. (or is it Ms?) Llama said is absolutely and regrettably true: We have a few oddities with the Name and Word Filter that cause problems with perfectly acceptable names. It’s a goal of mine to polish that filter to an incredible level of filter-y sparkliness, but at this time, I’m not able to find out why some words are blocked.
It’s Mister.
Thanks for your reply, is there any chance that we can get “Llama” removed from the filter? It’s hardly an offensive term.
If we could, I would be most appreciative. Thanks for your consideration.
Not to mention we now have a Llama finisher in game…
Last time we took a Ship to the Zephyrites. With the Lions Arch Port gone I wonder what port we will be taking this time.
Probably a balloon in DR
Does anyone here even remember that the Molten Weapons, and even the Sclerite i think, were initially accountbound and also only available for a short time ?
Oh I quite remember that and I also remember how bloody mad I was that despite my constant farming I never got a single sclerite weapon during the original event. I was elated to have them become available even if they were behind horrible RNG tickets. I still had a chance to get some (and I did).
Finally I get to finish working on beating Liadri! I have two stacks of gauntlet tickets and a desire to kill her -_- (serious face time)
I wish they weren’t account bound so that people could sell them. I missed the living story content but I really wanted the spinal blade pack and I can’t make it without blade shards
You can make them with sprokets too in addition to killing aetherblades
Output qty.
10 – 15 (small chance of 50)
Ingredients
1 Pile of Glittering Dust
1 Pile of Shimmering Dust
1 Blade Shard
50 Watchwork Sprocket
You also have a chance to get them by mining someone’s sproket node.
The sigils of creature slaying need to be merged into three different ones: Krytan Slayer, Maguuman Slayer and Shiverpeaks Slayer. There useful in the open world, useful in dungeons and a whole lot less trash….
And we’ll stop getting stupid drops like Harpoon Gun of Grawl Slaying.
So I guess if I go to Vegas and knowingly blow all my money on casinos, I would expect them to give me my money back of I don’t win. Sounds logical.
You gambled, you lost. Anet didn’t force you to to do it and you know it’s a gamble. Deal with it.
yea sure we are not in vegas and we talk about guildwars2.
You’re right. Vegas has better odds.
What’s wrong with the wiki?
The chestplate recipe does not appear here: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Lesser_Vision_Crystal/Armorsmith
The chestplate recipe is listed here: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Vision_Crystal/Armorsmith
I don’t see any misinformation.
The chestplate is the only piece of ascended armor that uses the full vision crystal. Every other piece of armor takes the lesser vision crystal.
You have to consider the reason behind it from their point of view.
(Thinks hard about a possible reason)
(Thinks even harder for a possible reason)
The programming! That tab was filled up and they would have to make and put in another weapon tab! That would take up valuable time that could be used to work on other projects.
So, you see. If you consider the matter logically, they do have a good reason.
And that’s the truth. :P
I know your post was half (all?) sarcastic, although that is actually a potential issue down the line if they keep releasing new weapon sets every 2 months or so.
But as my solution, I’d instead change each of the BL weapons skins to a Weapon Chest. Like other weapon chests, once you open it, you get to pick which skin you want. That cuts down 19 weapons to one, and the skins can be organised in tabs according to either year (2013/2014 etc.) or by theme (festival = Winter/Halloween/Dragon Bash etc.)
My preference would be for by Year. If GW2 is still going by 2020, I think at that stage ANet wouldn’t be making any more new weapon/armor skins for the game.
I’d be all for that Zax. I know I’m in the minority but Sclerite is my favorite weapon set so far and I wanted to have them all but now it looks like I won’t get the full set I still need the hammer, pistol, rifle and the bows….the mace doesn’t blink so that was probably never going to be gotten.
I don’t like the precedent they’re setting by not telling us here on the official website and hiding it in a facebook post. :/
I wonder why they post this on Facebook on Friday and no where else…. are they trying to hide the fact that they’re removing these skins from the Black Lion trader?
Meanwhile those few that like the weapons are scrambling to try and get them and the people with money are buying all of them and raising the price to ungodly amounts
Skins will be available for a long time on the tradepost. There will always be people selling them. I don’t understand what is the issue. I agree with Anet that skins should be removed, there are way too many of them right now.
With as few as there are that is unlikely. -_-
Probably a good thing they are being removed, they never were very popular.
They’ve been out for a year and still only cost 3 tickets, most weapons go to 5 or 7 tickets within a couple months. Never see anyone using them.
Still seems like a silly reason to remove them. Anet has been criticized numerous times for all the temporary content that they have put out, and now they’re removing skin items too?
The items are not being removed, if you have them you can still use them. If you want them you can still buy them with gold on the trading post (where the same skins have been rotting for a year).
Which totally explains why there are only 2-3 of some of them. There is a whole 1 sword and 1 shield….There are barely any on the trading post despite them being the cheapest in regards to black lion tickets.
I hated so much the crapshoot that was trying to get them during the event and keep trying to get the rest of them. I still need several of them and don’t even have enough gold to buy one off the trading post. I know I’m not alone in loving this set and the fact that they’re trying to “hide” getting rid of being able to get them kinda angers me.
Can you even get sclerite weapons with black lion tickets?
yes, they’re 3 tickets each
Nice of Anet to inform the masses on a photo page from a site that not everyone particularly uses or visits.
#thatlogic
Even better if you’re just browsing the page the announcement doesn’t even show that without you clicking “read more” and the first part doesn’t even give you a hint that they might be removing things, Just looks like “oh more stuff on sale in the gem store”
Edited to add the full “announcement”
If they’re going to remove skins they need to reduce the cost to 1 ticket or how about they don’t remove them at all….
From facebook
The Black Lion Weapon Specialists are clearing inventory–they will only be offering the Sclerite and Winter’s weapons for a few more weeks. Now’s the time to finish those Black Lion Claim Tickets and redeem them!
Why is this not announced here anywhere? They’re removing one of my favorite sets before I’ve had a chance to get them all….
You cannot discover the celestial items, you need to purchase the recipe for the coat from the trading post.
If you hover over the recipe and it says you already know it, but it isn’t showing up, then that is a bug.
You don’t even have to go to Heart of the Mists to queue for anything. You can do that from anywhere. Park yourself in Hoelbrak or the Black Citadel, you have bank/crafting/etc access and just hit that crossed sword icon at the top of your screen to access the PvP matches/queue.
20 slot bags are 15gold because the rune to make them is 10g by itself and requires a lvl 400 crafter.
We’ve seen this happen if you try to do the puzzle a second time but not on the first go through.
Did you type “2 Limited-Use Vigil Megalaser Finishers”? Or did you just type “Limited-Use Vigil Megalaser Finisher”?. I ask because when it comes to stacks of items, you do have to type out the number to destroy them.
This exactly. It’s spectacularly picky about that but not necessarily a bad thing.
Forum search has never worked right unfortunately. :/
That heart is notorious for being bugged. The last time I encountered it bugged I was only able to “debug” it using the old search & rescue that would rez complete dead NPCs.
Maybe a warrior banner would work?
I have all mine sitting on a character I don’t use much… someday we will get an answer.
I want

Direction #2 – The town clothes are imported into the new Wardrobe system
It’s not believable that they couldn’t pull this off either as the only thing in the code that separates the light, medium, and heavy is a flag somewhere in the system. This isn’t like trying to smash a square peg into round hole, it’s akin to changing a field in a spreadsheet. It is EXTREMELY easy.
It would have been more honest of them to say that they didn’t want light, medium, and heavy to all have the same looking Cherry Blossom Shirt. The player base wouldn’t have like that answer either, but it would have been more honest.
Sorry to tell you that it is not that simple. It is no where near akin to changing a field in a spreadsheet.
Town clothes were essentially a 4th armor weight as the way each of the items connects with other parts were different than the other weight classes. It is way more involved than changing a check box and would have caused a whole host of issues. The technical limitations in keeping town clothes as they were are much more complex than anyone here realizes….the fact that they discontinued a whole host of town clothes items made me wonder what they had in store for town clothes but as i personally didn’t use many of them I didn’t think much of it.
It would have been nice if they could have converted those single piece items into a whole outfit and added them with the rest but you wouldn’t have been happy with that either. I wish that the starter town clothes at least could have been added as an outfit too.
…
My biggest gripe is the excessive cost of the upgrade extractor and the lack of salvagability for karma and wvw gear. The only time I’ve used the extractors was for an aquabreather and a back item but my husband has a bunch of armor pieces sitting in his bank with Melandru runes on them that he can’t get out. >.<
No mounts for one simple reason:
You think it’s hard to target the bank person because some jerk put a box of fun under him…how bad do you think it’s going to be when there are 20+ people all standing on top of the NPC you want to talk to and they AND the mounts are all stacked on top…AND some jerk put a box of fun down there too.
Then there will be people coming to the forums requesting that mounts go away, that you can’t be on a mount in a city or within 20 feet of an NPC or near any interactable object…
So no. No mounts, not now, not ever.
Fastest travel is always going to be to waypoint.
Every class has some form of a speed boost (though some better than others) and there are several rune sets that boost your speed as well.
Mounts would do nothing but clutter up already busy areas and add nothing to the game (other than the obvious thing of there being mounts….which we don’t need).
I frequently see contestable WPs being shown as open when viewed from another map. Arah dungeon WP for example.
I’ve noticed that too here and there but for the most part what they stated in their blog is accurate. No clue why some contestable points don’t always appear contested when you’re in another map.
The megaserver system makes reporting and displaying the state of your destination map accurately quite impossible. With this in mind, we’ve decided to disable reporting of world state across maps entirely.
As a player, this will impact you in the following ways:
- Waypoints—All contestable waypoints on any map you’re not currently playing in will always appear contested. When you arrive in the map, you will be able to travel to these waypoints pending their local status.
- Dungeons—You will no longer be able to tell if a dungeon entrance is open until you’re on the same map.
- Temples of Orr—The cross-map mechanics of these temples will be disabled. Instead, god statues will be active only when the nearest temple is contested.

No mounts.
Just remove combat speed >.<
I lost fractal levels and was upset and first but then I actually PLAYED the content. I liked it and thought the reset made sense for what they did. Don’t you go lumping all players who were upset at first into the same category. Leave your straw man arguments at home.
Nobody’s talking about you. Get over yourself. Read:
Months later
P: That change still sucks! (not you)
Won’t argue with you because you won’t hear any viewpoint that doesn’t agree with you. So I"ll agree to disagree with you.
~Moving on~
And as far as the original topic goes…getting back on the original topic here.
The Development team tries to listen to everyone, the forums are a small part of a much larger community within Guild Wars 2. Many people come to the forums just to complain but there are a whole heap of players who have no interest in the forums and only submit feedback through the game and more who just silently leave the game without a word when they get bored.
They try to communicate with us but they don’t have someone where their only job is to answer questions and relay information to forum goers. They take time away from their job, family life, etc to make time to communicate with us on the forum. I would much rather them focus on the project(s) at hand there in the studio and try to make time for the vocal players here on the forums when possible. It is not always possible though. Hundreds of posts are made every day and things are easily lost in the sea of responses.
Those that are unhappy have likely never worked in a busy place where you’re trying to fix something or get something done for the customer and you’ve got the customer breathing down your neck and asking you questions about how about this, have you tried this….It’s like doing tech support for my parents. >.<
Really? Folks are STILL upset about the Fractal reset?
#GetOverIt #NotABigDealPreview Blogpost
Players: We don’t like this upcoming change!
Whiteknights: Quit complaining until you see it. It might not be that bad!Patch day

WKs: You’re still upset about that? Get over it! It’s too late to do anything about it now.
I lost fractal levels and was upset and first but then I actually PLAYED the content. I liked it and thought the reset made sense for what they did. Don’t you go lumping all players who were upset at first into the same category. Leave your straw man arguments at home.
This makes no sense.
How do those other characters know information just because someone else learned of it?
I don’t think anyone’s asking from an immersion viewpoint. They’re asking from a gameplay veiewpoint.
Laziness viewpoint.
You’re right. This terrible, welfare-gamer generation!
In fact, running near waypoints to unlock them is awfully lazy, too. ArenaNet should implement a lengthy, detailed quest chain that needs to be accomplished for every single waypoint in which your character has to attend one of the Asura Colleges, develop plans for a gate, gather the materials to build it, engage in research and development, and then finally construct the gate.
That’d show this lazy generation how a game should be!
OOh! Maybe we can bring back how map completion was done in Gw1 too! Can’t skip cutscenes because you’ll miss some percentages of the map you won’t get back, need to scrape every corner of map to get that last .01% of the map unlocked.
I like the exp you get from discovering these things….and I love the hearts. I’d rather not have these things account bound. Completing maps on my alts gives me more time to learn how to play them and learn new things about them.
I wish there were hearts in Orr and Southsun too >.>
OOh! You can un-target something by pressing esc?
I’ve been here forever and never knew that >.<
Stefan, you might not be the right person to ask it, but…
Could you tell us if this problem (transmuted weapons receiving name from stats item and not skin item) is a temporary bug or an intended change? We, the aesthetics-driven people, are really saddened by this change and would appreciate any official news. Thanks!
Hi Lishtenbird,
Yes, this isn’t the correct forum. But I went ahead and inquired internally here to someone who might know. In short, this can be considered a bug, but one that is not easy or fast to fix. There is a desire to address this along with some other improvements to the tool tips of transmuted items. But there is no ETA for this.
As to any ETA for other API releases, unfortunately I don’t have one right now either.
Thanks all!
Ah, I was wondering too because I miss my Chritophobia of battle.
Traherne announcer package:
Your team is losing: Oh no, this won’t end well.
Your team is winning: I did this.
o.o
Howler still has a muzzle and does not howl at all, there are no night effects at all anymore. Nothing.
They “fixed” the endless loop of constant howling by removing it completely. The complete removal I hope is unintentional and they will eventually fix it so that Howl will howl once more but with less exuberance than before (i.e. sometimes but not constant).
Now you have a barely visible mist effect around you, very faint mist footsteps and nothing at all special at night like you used to have. I hope this is in their worklog to get fixed.
