Lol, falling damage, spear/harpoon builds are OP. 5 seconds of stun is over the charts too >.< looking more and more like the herald indeed!
Elementalist elite spec:
The conjurer
When equipping a conjured weapon, the utility skills change depending to the weapon held! Each weapon has a theme to work in synergy with existing skills!
— Conjure Flame Axe:
– Clearing beam (Arcane): Fires a piercing rays that cleanses 3 conditions on allies and removes 3 boons on the enemies it touches.
– Arcane strength (Arcane). Knock back foes with your x next attacks and deal extra x damage.
– Overheat ( shout ): Deals X damage to burning foes, causes burning on non-burning foes.
— Conjure Frost Bow:
– Ice skin (Cantrip): Remove all boons and conditions on caster, conditions and boons can’t be applied for x seconds.
– Unstable form (Cantrip): When hit, caster teleports to a close random position.
– Glyph of Purity (Glyph): Your next x attack removes a boon.
— Conjure Lightning Hammer:
– Jolting charge (Shout): Allies gain Light Aura and a static charge
– Come here (Shout): Pull foes towards you and daze them for 1 sec.
– Arcane Chains (Arcane): Hammer Auto attacks become ranged for x seconds.
— Conjure Earth Shield:
– Celestial Signet (Signet): Passive: +50 to all stats, Active: +100 to all stats for x seconds.
– Signet of thorns (Signet): Passive: When hit, attacker gains vulnerability, Active: Gain retaliation for x seconds.
– Perfect coat (Cantrip): Gain stealth for x seconds.
— Conjure Fiery Greatsword:
– Glyph of fire (Glyph): Burning you apply lasts an extra 20%
– Glyph of tornados (Glyph): Create a mini hurricane that damage foes and knocks them back.
– Signet of Penetration (Signet): Passive: + x damage, Active: your next x attacks can’t be blocked.
Most effective warrior build found so far:
Usage: Wait in mid in Forest of Niflhel until someone is approaching the stairs too close to the middle and surprise them with this bomb! Same wonderful technique applies for Spirit watch!
New Celestial Amulet suggestion:
Power: 560
Condition Damage: 560
Precision: 560
Ferocity: 560
Vitality: 280 (Halved)
Toughness: 280 (Halved)
Healing power: 560
I don’t think the video shows conclusive material to determine whether or not Celestial amulet should be nerfed, I kinda did an analysis of Celestial vs Specialized, please correct me if wrong (is just an estimate anyways)
In general Attributes:
Specialized / Celestial / Loss %
Main: +1200 / +560 / 53% loss
Secondaries (2x): +900 / +560 / 34% loss
All other +0 / +560
So applying this to roles:
- Dedicated healer won’t be an option but will still be able to heal and support with boons/auras while dealing more damage (Great for solo, not as good for team)
- As for DPS would think I would suffer lots but truth is that damage is a mix of condition damage + direct damage. Secondary attributes (Ferocity & Precision) have a saying in this as well (Mostly/only in berserk), but adding in a different scale as they don’t always proc so kinda have to play with the numbers again.
Damage:
Specialized / Celestial / % Loss
1200(direct) / 560(Direct) + 560(conditions) = 1120 / 6% Loss
To calculate the loss from Critical damage:
Critical chance Secondaries
Specialized / Celestial / % Loss (spec-cel)
46.9% / 30.8% / 16.1% less chance of critical
Critical damage Loss :
210 / 187.3 / 23%
Total damage done by criticals (chance x critical damage)
Specialized / Celestial / % Loss (spc-cel)
98.5% / 57.7% / 40.8%
40.8% is the total damage loss that applies only to direct damage, since that kind of damage is only half the source of damage (debatable) we can roughly say the total loss on damage due to critical hits on a mixed build vs a critical heavy class as Berserk is 20.4% (can be seen as 0% loss on condition damage build, 40.8% loss on zerker build)
So an approximate number for the total damage loss is 26.6% less damage (Decreases as the toughness of opponents increases)
Edit: As a suggestion to developer’s question about what could be an effective celestial replacement (That keeps the functionality while being scaled down to the rest of amulets) I would say.

In general seems quite good in general, still worried about Necromancer that was already good, now is getting better. … Hopefully the maybes become a fact.
If you have access to elite spec (Tempest) you would have the most OP PvP choice according to general public opinion.
Without getting into details… choose Celestial crystal and water + earth + tempest traits.
The mandatory traits are:
Earth: Diamond Skin and Elemental shielding
Water: Soothing Ice and Powerful Aura (If you want support/team play) or cleansing water if having problems with condis.
Tempest: Elemental Bastion
The idea is to use auras and their boons to sustain yourself and team while dealing damage on the sides with mostly overloads and staff aoe. That said you need stability to either heal or overload other than earth (use armor of earth) and need auras, being feel the burn and flash freeze kinda the most reliable ones.
Take the pain away is the healing option to go for if support.
Love the game in general, overwhelmed by all the options I have to play every day, love the art, the variety, the wardrobe, everything… keep me thinking all day about the game! just love it

I’ve thought through the implications of removing cele from PvP and what would happen to elementalist quite a bit, actually. It’s pretty risky. I think elementalist would need a new 4 stat combo to be viable at roughly the same level (maybe something like 1050pow/1050condi/560vit/560healing).

That is the problem, can’t distribute them properly due to the diversity of attacks, enforcing either power or condi kinda comes short as of many of the ele skills deal mixed damage, also power alone kinda doesn’t cut it unless critical damage is also boosted (you taking care of crit chances with boons, signets or sigil) I think in case cele removal is really necessary, one amulet alone won’t cover the hole, but a serial of 4-5 amulet combination could.
As of Sigils, I think the cool down on those that have them above 20s needs reduction in order to compete to those that always trigger or the weapon swap ones, being those the more viable atm.
As of Runes (Applies to sigils as well), would be nice to see some boons removal options so it becomes an option to all classes (assuming boons as counterpart of conditions, there’s viable ways to deal with conditions but not with boons, leading to a defensive gameplay)

Its quite easy when theres only 3 classes that only vary on one skill, even then seen people with banners food and passives running like crazy all the time making impossible to chase them when they get the gift.

I honestly believe SoloQers were allowed only as fillers to reduce queue time.
Looking at league design it’s clear that it was intended only for structured teams hence e-sports, problem is that the solo team approach was tried before and failed due to waiting times so the solution was to allow fillers and lure them in with a nice pair of wings. The results SoloQers being farmed for division climbing and lots of angry people on the forums.
Those exist and are called Cultural Armor
And they are nice! was thinking on something more specific that would give more personality to your choices… such as the orders (with their armors) … like raven armor if you picked raven as your spirit (norn), etc, etc. …
That is some nice and awesome e-art :O love the personality this maps have. I live in a country with different sort of jungles/forests and can tell the immersion feeling!

Truth is I don’t mind thieves, they are underpowered in some situations but they have their role and they can do it, Warriors tho …I just ignore them killing other classes first (or npcs on stronghold) and leaving warrior for when battle is over.

Raven is associated with cunning with trickery, so a Norn Mesmer makes a lot of sense. Theres actually a Hero Point Boss with a Raven Shaman, that uses Mesmeric magic in Snowden Drifts.
Asuran Warriors seem illogical, but they probably have a lot of tools to make up for their small stature like weapons and armour that generate kinetic energy. and The Peacemakers would require physically strong soldiers in the event of needing to physically restrain people.
Sylvari aren’t inherently obsessed with environmental friendliness and cultivating plants just because they are effectively plants. Sylvari Engineers are illustrated perfectly by Scarlet Briar, who loved engineering and metalwork, because she felt all the pieces of the machines were like all the pieces of an ecosystem, that work together to maintain something. In short, if Sylvari enjoy Engineering, they’re happy to pursue it. There are Sylvari though who dislike engineering, believing it to be unnatural and defiling the land. Its just an opinion to them.

I had a cringe when I saw yesterday a Charr wearing a Balthazar Avatar armor! don’t they have their own deities? Maybe something like a Murzat Attire for cloth bearers.
What has the world come into? I see Norn Mesmers, Asura Warriors, Sylvary Engineers and even Charr Guardians!

I guess the problem is not that, might be that the player is not breaking any rule… might count as a variant of very bad.
Maybe a fix would be to kick them from map even if they have moved some as long as they haven’t left the safe area.

Reaper is already hardcountered by Scrapper and Tempests, and softcountered by Warriors and revenants.
Meanwhile Tempests are hardcountered by nothing and softcountered by nothing.
Ele is countered by condi mixed damage and by CC
I still get people that think going far is a bad idea in my games…I don’t understand how these people get to diamond+.
I think it’s Pro structured team play vs soloQ, casual pug play.
If you have a real team with roles, one whoever captures a point first gets the upper hand, usually all points start as contested and the dispute of them wins….. on a more casual match with no teams, planned roles and no way to communicate it’s hard to maintain this even if you know what you are doing, so the easy strat is secure home and fight for mid for a 2v1 point. That doesn’t mean can take situational advantages such as whole opponent team at your home, etc.
It needs rework, for example give resistance under certain condition.
Like “while life is above 90%”?

DS nerf is only a trending persecution, pushed by players that wants to win every 1v1 fight, on team fights, there’s roles and each has a function, eles are doing theirs as intended as mesmers are. On those team fights DS is rarely OP, general sustainability and damage mitigation plays a more important role. In my opinion there’s a real OP trait that ele has that it’s a must pick and counters different mechanics and a whole trait line for a certain class, not a very specific build.
Quick join is the “just for fun” option.
Real Honor goes beyond the definition given in this game context.

Cheating is cheating, no matter the size or for how long it’s being perpetuated or the reasons behind them, it’s against the rules, so don’t find it sad at all. Someone who looks for cheats is in the gray-zone, someone who installs them crossed the line. Not saying this is the case on this person, cause I have no evidence, just saying this based on the comments regarding the second chance jumping puzzle opportunity.

Agree so much, … yet while it’s truth fun is a reward on it’s own, problem is when is paired with other more rewarding in items activities causing players to come only for the achievement wanting to deal with it the fastest possible not caring if winning or loosing… well, kinda sounds like casual fun anyways

So, with your first suggestion – league play (being limited to ranked) would be solo play only. If you want to play with your friends, oh well go to unranked, no league progress for you? It also shuts down the whole guild challenger league, since that uses ranked as far as I’m aware. So, that nixes this option based on the e-sports drive.
Which leaves us with option 2 – ranked being team only. Which results in people not being able to progress league play unless their friends are online to play with, and in chasing some of the casual players away because we are (again) removing yet more of the ‘play how you want’ option. Resulting in yet a smaller pool of available pvp players. Yes, they could still play unranked, but for those that simple came over to try to earn those cute little league wings? GFTO yeah?
Neither seems like a great option honestly. Either way you’re going to kitten off one group or another.
Guild league should be a whole different thing and maybe the organized team option you might be looking for for ranked team action. To be honest open team ranking comes with a lots of exploits we are seeing now, you can also just carry order members to higher tiers as you exploit it too, that just make leagues to reflect cunning instead of actual skills. Yes organized professional team play is a thing, so let’s make it a formal thing… it was like that in the past and failed because the queue times? that’s a problem that should be addressed on its own, once again can be guild league with nice rewards…

for me no ( i don’t play ele often ) . the reason is simple . if you can not go through diamond skin with your direct damage it is a problem of your build…. too lower direct damage .
What about those builds that open with a condi bomb?

Conditions should still have a counter, and I mean a spammeable one, using utility skills won’t cut it cause conditions can be reapplied at a very fast rate and having all utility skills to prevent this would be just another annoying meta. I am talking about something like burning fire (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Burning_Fire) that should be available to all classes not necessary on traits such as signets, stances, spirits …maybe even a sigil
