IMO Zhaitan looked much more threatening and epic. I know, this was only its avatar, but still – it looked like fat ugly dinosaur kid. The fight was great though.
This whole story felt much different than the original one. It was smaller scale, more personal. And the fight also. And that’s not a bad thing, just the idea of an army fighting a dragon feels much more epic to me than our hero battling an avatar of a dragon.

i don’t like how it floats around with me while being useless. I haven’t used it at all yet and having it on my shoulder is just starting to annoy me.
Maybe it’s a precursor for a real function gyro and we need to teach it first what it needs to do

- function gyro in open world pve doesn’t offer anything, it’s a cosmetic flair next to my main’s shoulder – definitely needs more functionality or reworking the elite spec
- gyros are still slow, IMO it would be better for them movement wise to be like inactive function gyro – a flair sticking close to the player, not using ai for movement
- also please make them either decay or have hp, not both, this makes them even more gimmicky
- hammer is great
- traits are fine

Concerning copyright, I am careful with it, but I’ve learnt that because I don’t monetize my videos, those companies that own the rights, monetize my video for themselves and don’t mind it’s on youtube, hell, it brings them few bucks.
The thing is, I do videos as a hobby, not to earn money and I’m completely ok with that and glad that they’re not deleted but earn their music’s creators few more dollars. I started doing them because nobody bothered using such great music because they couldn’t make money of it.
I understand your concern though. I hope there was no trouble

I was thinking about how could the Helloween story progress and I came upon the story of how Oswald Thorn killed his brother Ewan.
What if something would change Ewan in the Mists and brought him back from the dead? He would definitely seek revenge on Mad King. This could be very interesting plot. So I created a trailer for it

Irenio, first of all thank you very much for this post. I’m really curious about the changes to gyro survivability now.
Concerning no elite mechanic change, I understand that. The remaining time before the release will be focused on bugs and tweaks and that’s ok.
I would still like to ask you one thing: Could you please explain if you think that the changes to elite mechanic like for example the one that Chaith proposed, are realistic, or do you not find such big rework realistic to be done and there will be more like minor changes? Function gyro needs some functionality for PvE and I’m curious what you’ll do about it

Ah Irenio, I expected much better from you.
We will see the changes according to our feedback on 23rd? That’s it? Come on man, you can do better. All other classes had big lists of changes and tweaks. We can’t even provide feedback because Scrapper and Druid have to wait until 23rd. Why?
I guess I was naive, when I expected more than “bit more snappy gyros”. Scrapper still has an elite mechanic that’s almost useless in PVE. IMHO I wouldn’t even call one gimmicky skill the elite mechanic. Why even give the engi a new name when his playstyle is changed only with a weapon. It is a hammer engi, no need to call him scrapper.
The only thing that remains is the hope that the next spec will actually change our playstyle. But wait, I won’t be able to use the hammer with it because it’s bound to the Scrapper spec. Now I have an almost useless already account bound Juggernaut legendary in my bank. Yay.
This is a salty post, I admit it. Oh well.

If we are being honest, the entire fuel idea is a pretty kitten boring mechanic. Not just your implementation, most of the other we have seen as well.
At least flavor-wise.
I would prefer to see something much more outwardly spectacular.

I agree that it’s too late for rework, but let’s discuss anyway.
How about a fuel bar that charges in combat. It would deplete partially on utility use and that utility would get a lower cooldown based on how much fuel you had. It would be divided in 3 parts: 1 part would mean 10% cd reduction, 2 – 20% and 3 – 35%. Using one utility would cost 50% of the whole bar and give that utility a lower cd based on how many fuel bars you had while activating it.

How about that we would get a “gyroswap” as an elite mechanics? It would be accessible only with enough fuel that we would acquire by attacking. It would replace utilities with gyros for some time. Fuel would deplete in time and by using the gyros.

There was a big discussion on reddit some time ago, where a dev responded. (don’t have link)
Basically, what he said was that new directx implementation wouldn’t help GW2 and the performance much. The game is based on a 10 year old engine. For the performance to be improved and newer directx to be effective, they would have to redo the engine in order to support 64bit and better performance in general.
When I see how busy they are with HoT content, I don’t see this coming with it. I wouldn’t get my hopes up. :/

I also agree that we need a new engine not for better graphics but for good performance. An engine that would support 64bit and better directx. Don’t get me wrong, I think that game looks gorgeous (and shader injectors make it look even better) however even the high end PCs aren’t able to run it at stable fps with high/ultra settings. Even the high end systems have problems with fps in wvw or while boss battles.
The thing is that this would require A LOT of work and I don’t think that Anet has the resources for it now. And that saddens me.

I love the dwarfs but I have to admit that I don’t want them as a playable race in GW2. I like that GW2 doesn’t have the traditional fantasy races such as orcs, dwarfs (well, not anymore, except for Ogden) or Elves.

Time to acknowledge the problem which puts engineer class at the bottom of played classes and promise to fix it.
Actually Anet has acknowledged the problem 1,5 years ago. Gaile has promised us to update us when there will be something new few months ago. So either there is nothing new about it or they are keeping these news for the engi specialization blog (my wishful thinking)

Use of the term, “fix” implies it’s broken…
It is an issue for engineer community that cosmetically handicaps the players that play engi. Hobosacks cover the backpacks and legendary auras. This may be taken as a cosmetic disadvantage for engis. And issues can be FIXED. So the term “fix” is still valid for this situation

It was confirmed that expansion will not get any dx 10,11,12 update so no need to buy a new video card. Source: video from press even at Anet office within the past couple weeks . Of course things are always subject to change between now and then.

It seems to me like an interesting fight, but I agree that moving on the ground would make it much more dynamic. You know what? Let’s wait until the expansion releases and we’ll see if all fights are like that. This is supposed to be one of the easier fights anyway.

Removing them may be too much but I think that their relationship is pushed much more than desired into the story. Personally I am more interested in Mordremoth and saving Tyria than listening about their relationship. But that’s just me and I am sure that the devs will make a very interesting story for HoT

I would actually like it if they would give us separate options for choosing scars and eyes (eye types, not color or squint), make the eye type not bound to one face, as it is now. Maybe also some subtle beards for Asura?This would bring a lot of new customization.
