back before hot, when you can actually play tons of non meta build and success in soloq because you are better then the other players, like kitten crunk with shadow trap or AK one shot builds or zerker staff ele and banner bunker war and double shortbow thief(forgot the dudes name) and even signet condi ele, all were placed high on the leaderboard because the player was good, instead of being so forgiving on meta hot builds that even the most braindead person can play
ofc if you realized i’m not talking about top team v top team meta where only meta can be played, but average everyday soloq
and elite spec are not required? have fun play against any meta hot build ( let me list the most annoying ones, scrapper, chrono, druid, auramancer) with non hot meta build…unless you go condi cheese, even that you lose huge amount in team fight or team support, just by not having elite specs
back when warrior was trash tier, people can still manage to even make zerker bullcharge frenzy war work and be high on the leaderboard. right now there’s just no kitten way it’s gonna work in any way or any of the builds i mentioned above

this literally renders the pvp game unplayable, you land CC, yet enemy are rewarded for it and you end up with tons of CC yet everyone still so tanky unless you gang one with multiple people, all these auto also make the game require no skill, suddenly all the no skill can do something even they have no skill at all in pvp since HoT..kitten i find pve more funs now cuz cc actually mean something and feel rewarding

ALL weapons on war are joke now,they are way too outdated,lack utility and half of them are useless.
since 2013, not going to happen, that’s the design philo for warrior in anet, old and clunky and not fancy and telegraphed and single functioned , berserker is already pushing the limit to sell HoT lol

Those tells made sense back before HoT because everyone had 2 dodges and maybe 1 stun break to burn through before you mashed someone’s head in.
Thankfully, you had 3 stuns, Shield Bash, Bull’s Charge, and Skullcrack. 1 dodge usually gets burned on weapon skills, so a warrior would eventually reach a situation where damage could be landed through one of these setup skills.
But now with HoT, stun breaks are everywhere with low cd’s. Why? Because they added more CC everywhere. The thing is, Warrior can’t actually slot more stuns without giving up their stances (usually you only get 1 free utility since Endure Pain and Zerker Stance are typically mandatory). So defenses increase, but offense (for warrior) didn’t.
Thus making it difficult to land setup skills. If Warrior had more natural defenses in their weapon skills/traits, then you could run all the cc’s you’d ever want and actually land them (burn through limited defenses with raw output), except against Daredevil of course which is up to him to screw up his dodges.
Also ignore Throw Bolas. It’s worse than Kick. Kick has the benefit of 12 second cd (9 if traited lol), so you can use it to bait stun breaks (even outrage), but because it’s a knockback it’s hard to follow up with damage. But throw bolas? Wonky projectile, and a 4 second immobolize that can get purged super easily (if you’re power)? You’re better off with just taking longbow, at least you get guaranteed CI procs.
Buffing Bolas to be either AoE, Pulses Immob like ranger root, or gives a pull would make it easier to land setup skills even without shield bash.

LOL if I am ganked while in combat and have EP I still have to REACT meaning he has already hit me . LOL if the EP already on cooldown because of combat it is not doing me any good just as would be the case if I already used up my shield blocks and dodges. LOL shield is on a 20 second cooldown compared to 60 meaning I can use it three times for every one time that I get EP . LOL the one time in 50 where I am ganked in Combat where that EP just MIGHT be off cooldown and available to use wherein it might save me from being downed is not worth it compared to other things I can be using with that slot LOL. LOL in game terms I am 3 times more likely to have a shield block available then th EP block and that is plenty enough for me. LOL

condi shiro was one of the most fun build in this pvp…less boring then dps shiro glint thats for sure
there’s no such thing as op for warrior, warrior needs to be immortal and incredible hard to kill or else hes going to be completely dead in pvp
unlike other classes llike thief or mesmer, both should not be so good in 1v1 and immortal and should be easy to kill, because of the mobility and disengage potential, this game sucks because devs limit classes to certain role (warrior without teleport, boon spam, utility, stealth, 20weapon skills, boon corrupt) yet they dont want it to excel in that one role..
for warrior to be viable it is for it to be op at what it is, immortal 1v1 and good damage
its been proven for so many years, because dev dont want to give warrior any decent utility(reasonable), so the only viable way is immortal and good damage and should require team work to take down(offensive bunker), war should be as tanky as any other tank while still dealing high damage
or if you want to balance this game in 1v1 then there wont be balance in 5v5
i say again, warrior needs to be an unstoppable force in order to put threat to the enemy team

actually, they should limit the stats so the game can be more fun
like if you are dps, only amulet is power precision and ferousity
if you are tank then only amulet is power toughness concentration
and if you are healer only amulet is toughness healing concentration
if you are condi then only amulet is condi precision

This is intended, it’s brings more skill and thoughts to the skill other then spam fest no skill kitten spam on CD. you have to control your skill spamming when you see stacks of confusion or you can full heal yourself with infuse light with it…

UA triggers confusion for every hit right now (5 times) and this is a known bug.
No other similar skill triggers confusion this way (warrior’s 100b for example).

Indeed double warrior is getting quite common. But it doesn´t feel so bad as double necro last season. But i agree that the sustain buff was good, condi output from some weapons is not aproriate. Burning fro LB, bleed from sword and gunfalme is OK, the rest doesn´t need condies and it results in nearly all builds spaming conditions.
I play power warrior and i ask myself WTF when i strike with skull grinder … Its a power weapon. The daze seems reasonable but the conditions ?
Well at least i kill the condi warriors with the power version quite easy ^^.
Since i play only ele and power warrior, condi warriors don´t realy hurt me, but the increasing numbers like necro last season might be a sign ….
mace was never a power weapon..carrion mace/sword lb pre hot is top dueling build for warrior that takes very little skill
If guardians are so bad can someone tell me how to beat them? Because i get one shot by them regularly on warrior, thief and necro. Don’t tell me not to stand in their traps because i can’t beat them at range and if i try they just pull me in anyway. If I dodge to set off traps they just drop new ones if they were already setup.
I see teams with multiple guardians win all the time in sapphire. The game shouldn’t be balanced based on what pros use because that is not 99% of pvp. If anything guardians need a nerf.
You can’t win a guardian with a warrior? How do you even do that? You dodge the first ones, shield blocks alone can tank you through most of the trap damage on the second wave. If they SoJ you midblock, drop endure pain and watch the guardian die because they have no burst left after the traps expire.
there’s some thing called baiting shield stance and spear of justice that can interrupt blocking…
DH is only bad if enemy has good ele and engi and other enemies know how to use their cover…cuz reflect uptime
god guys, rune of leadership convert 2 condis for you and everyone around you..if your team has 2 player running it it would be NP…
you also has staff 4 which also removes 2 condition and assassin retreat which removes all soft CC conditions so you can focus cleanse the damage ones with your staff or w/e..and glint heal also affacted conditions, when some one condi bomb you, you pop the heal by the end of the heal, majority of the damage is already dealt or give you time to cleanse it before it does major damage..not to mention the blocks and blinds…please..
power rev already pretty good to condi and sacrifice little compare to alot of other power builds
if you want so you called “good place” nothing but ele is worth the 80.
I thought the point was to be able to switch roles, you essentially get 10 utilities and you can easily switch legends quickly before another fight. But I guess the auto attack thing is true and I know I won’t like that.

NO evadesWhat game are you playing? Warriors can endure pain x2 and block for 3s every 20s + reflect projectiles then block again and reflect ALL projectiles(only blocks 1 attack but all projs) and has multiple forms of resistance.
Warriors basically run around invincible 90% of the time then randomly turn around and attempt to 1 shot you, then keep running around invincible.
that’s the reason why warrior was the most op class in first and second season….
oh wait…
….@aboves, yea, mace/lb is not good wvw roaming for obvious reasons..just like hambow were never good in wvw roaming..it’s focused on objective fighting…where enemies are forced to go to the objective..so unable to kit…

Discipline is not necessary. You get some nice features from it, but it’s not necessary.
This. It’s super nice to have, sure, but the only line that’s absolutely essential at this point is defense. Strength, berserker, and discipline are all pretty strong lines with their own advantages, and any two can make for a solid build.

Everyone with more than two brain cells who is not biased just because it’s his own class sees that warrior is currently as over the top as reaper etc was last season.
First of all, i’ve say that adrenaline health is lazy fix that shows anet just gave up since the first day i see the patch..
anyway, no..warrior is no where close to reaper prepatch
secondly, anet will never add more mechanics to warrior unless it’s new elite spec..it’s proven since 2013, they will only add healing
thirdly, it’s not over the top, it’s just lazy fixes..
here’s the real question, in any time period where warrior is viable..is not because of healing? now you realize that without the healing , warrior will be another useless class that can’t do anything and when viable all because of the same reason and played the same role, because anet is too stubborn to even give more mechanics to the class, give more passive healing is all they will do..it’s either good or just completely trash

Yep, using a skill to close the gap and be a sitting rock with no energy to do anything else definitely bring rev closer to “balance”. Autoatk ftw after all.
Rev start to falling out of meta, thief can murder him as both heals are easily negated by him (Shiro heal is so kitten amazing after all.) and warrior dish out insane damage in teamfights (unlike rev autoattacking people) while still being good at +1. Both can clean conditions on their own too. The only reason to get rev right now is for boon support but theres ele for that so rev is not needed. If you mean closer to balance aka warriors few months ago then youre right, we got closer there.
main dps is auto and sword two which consume very little energy, seriously not sure the issue here…
and lol, clearly you don’t play warrior, warrior is no more of a point holder compare to power rev against multiple enemies and can be easily killed if focused (riposting shadow op), specially if there’s a thief with venom, the smash brawler build has only 2 stun break (one with long CD), compare to power rev has 3(all have relatively low CD and 2 doesnt consume energy). sure rev can be weak to condi mes, but it’s definitely not weak against warrior. seriously rev was never mainly for boon, like for real..this is not pve..i had just as much success on rev as on my war which i’ve mained for so long

A lot of people know how warrior works, some of them even main them.
But yea.. 3 condition cleanses every 3 seconds in berserk mode with longbow… high resistance uptime…. 800hp/sec healing which is basically as much as a ranger using permanently troll unguent …. and dealing the highest condition dmg of all classes right now doesn’t seem slightly overpowered at all.
Stop being so delusional and finally accept that our class got as powercreeped as the other classes which you guys all have been complaining about – but it seems as soon as it’s our own class, everything is fine – pathetic.
