they really need to keep the updates interesting.
i mean, the game is amazing, or even the best i would say..a lot of people loved it upon release…but left after, because of the lack of quality updates.
FF14 got it’s first big patch 3 month after release introducing new dungeon, player housing, 24 men raid, new bosses. and they keep getting similar or more content (2 new classes included) every 3 months, while still having small quest story patch/updates, and also an expansion that will be releasing before HoT, even FF14ARR is released 1 year after GW2.
Sure i’m not asking as much quality updates as FF14ARR, because that is sub based.
but i mean come on….at least make the expansion epic..

If your main concern was just living as long as possible 1v1 a Warrior does better then a Guardian. Where Guardian shine is there group support in addition to being tanky. That being said Guardian bunkers are on there last legs they don’t do enough damage and have enough CC to compere with the current celestial monstrosities plaguing pvp.

It has been very strongly implied that we’re supposed to be expecting a quality over quantity deal here. If that doesn’t work for you then so be it.

If GW2 can actually delivers content that is way superior then other MMO’s expansion, then sure, 3 years after release is fine. But so far, nothing really that interesting.
I think it’s an expansion more in the sense that it sets up the foundations to expand the game from there on. Not in the sense of actual amount of content, which is not little though, in my opinion.

Say you take 40 hours to level to 80 the hard way. You have 40 hours of revenant experience where you didnt have access to all skills and traits.
Whereas i instant level to 80 and play 40 hours of revenant gameplay on a full equipped character.
Who do you think will have a better grasp of the class?
The one who did the hard way ofc..
it’s way too obvious..the hard way really improves you with basic core class mechanics and improve your understand of the class.
then the ones who get all the fancy stuff from the beginning.I really dont see how you came to that conclusion. The time spent on the class is the same. So the player who has been able to use everything right from the beginning should know more. Assuming they do actually pay a minimum amount of attention to skills and traits they use.
And lets be honest. Players who dont read skills or pay attention to what they are doing wont learn anything even if they level the hard way…..
if you don’t practice in PvE for some time, and go directly to PvP with all skills available, it will be way harder to learn the class, because too many things are happening.
In PvE you have way more downtime and you can more easily pick your fights to account for your experience, so I don’t think the comparison is valid. Even so, I am pretty sure the person who spends 20 hours in PvE and then 20 hours in PvP would have been more experienced if they had just spent 40 hours in PvP. It’s just that the first matches will be very painful.
Basically, you start your class, go PvE for some early level gameplay, get a hand of your core class mechanics and the general feel of your class, then you can go PvP.
If you just go Q tpvp directly like that, you will have a harder time learning your class, because too many things happening and randomly as well, so less time focusing learning how your class works. so it takes longer generally.
also if you just get all the fancy stuff from the start, you can’t focus on each skill much..

the modern gamer: encounter an issue. don´t even invest 5 minutes to investigate the issue. Go to forum, rage, name and shame. Don´t even consider you might be wrong on the issue at hand, so do not ask with even a shred of decency. Blame and scream bloody murder instead.

Exactly, if it really made thief completely unusable( every unlikely, in wvw where no blink spots, thief is still number one roamer)
they will actually balance it properly, instead of balance it around exploits, which should not have happened in the first place
i can also play thief and engi, not the best mechanically

simple as that, both are good kitting class which are hard to catch
because if you just stealth away, the other guy will take double the damage, if he cant stealth or have good in fight kitting ability.

there’s really no point to argue, these spots give classes like thief and mesmer an advantage over other classes.
when abused like with s/d thief, in a team fight, it’s no where easier to kill nor to focus compare to cele shoutheal or engi. in fact, you probably better off just focus the shoutheal or engi instead..
and these classes shouldn’t be balanced around abusing exploits in the first place.
thief will still be the best roamer for it’s reliable boon strip and auto pilot blink bursts anyway and be the superior zerker with med guard and shatter mes, if you have been in KoTH, and power ranger..
also builds like DD ele should never ever get to use such exploit…
finally, they should have it fixed ages ago

since already confirmed that berserker is going to be stance effect that pulse new boon, balanced stance will probably be the same

Why would you think that? Rampage is an Elite that takes away your U-skills, so they’re giving it this effect.
What I’d be worried about is Lich form being immune to CCs too. Rampage is crap anyway.
Well, people have being asking balanced stance to be an actual stance for a long time and deserve to be one, but Anet wanted it to have counter play,
but after the stability change.
balanced stance grant you stance effect which pulses for stability make a lot of sense to me.
and balanced stance and rampage also work the same way, click the skill, grant you a decent duration of stability (as of right now)
and also right now, when going up against a corrupt necro with balanced stance is just asked to get hard countered so hard, even harder then thief to mesmer. short pulses of stability will stop corrupt necro to chain a insanely long duration of fear with corruption and stop following fear.

it’s all about the defensive utility skills and dodge roll
first step would be level up to 80.
builds really don’t matter before that.
i would suggest to go sword/axe longbow condition for pve level up. condition reckt pve monsters
fresh air ele is not viable tpvp
best burst right now is dp thief and sd thief. dp is higher burst
tanky is dd ele or a not as good version of dd ele —shoutheal war its easier to play but not as good when played well
i dont recommend blacktruth build because it rely on auto stab proc and high cooldown skill like rampage and berserker stance to secure the kills and it has no mobility for rotation related skill outplay. no proper disengage and backcaps.
a no longbow build i recommend 20606/00626 gs axe shield with triple stance and signet of rage
there is bunker sword warhorn mace shield 20660 too
gs/rifle sword shield/rifle 62006 is also pretty reliable at shutting down bursties and has decent speed
