Good thieves have being playing 26006 S/D in duels and doing completely good.
not sure how this nerf would do a lot except for bad thieves who just spam dodges, 6 in acrobat still gives more dodge then others and they are nerfing dodging for all by nerfing vigor.

Pretty much a slap on the face of existing loyal players. You have the game? Pay for it again it you want expansion. Absolute Rip-Off.

It would make sense even if it was like $49 for new accounts and $29 for existing.

You don’t do that reading thing, do you? There’s already been multiple posts stating that the expansion would have cost that much -anyway-. The core game being free for new people is -just- a freebie. Get over it.

Unlike Engis mesmers needed some buffs to stay in line vs thiefs. I still dont see why engis are complaining they are getting some really strong buff and yet complain of the few tweaks they got.

Mesmer was never able to wreck every other zerker class to begin with. Medi guard, fresh air ele and GS warriors all have either upper hand or roughly equal with mesmers. The only reason teams take mesmer is because of portal not because it trashes all other zerker spec.

A fresh air ele can destroy a mesmer fastes than a thief can IF he gets the upper hand in the fight.

how can a fresh air ele destory a mesmer….like how….mesmer can literally kit from 900 range away and kill fresh air with proc, and multi hitting skill can easy counter arcane shield and most attacks go through air 4, basically when earth 5 is gone, fresh air would be dead

mesmer literally has an easier time go against fresh air compare to thief, because thief has to be ultra careful cuz fresh air burst are way easier to land when enemy is close..

Well, cripple will no longer effect movement skills so they can add it to a bunch of skills to give the appearance of buffing things when they aren’t.

it’s actually buff, because nobody gets infinite amount of movement skill and movement skill doesnt remove these conditions, so outside of movement skills, they are skill slowed.

using a burst skill for your equipped weapon will now set the recharge of all adrenaline tiers of that burst skill

Does anyone understand this??

they didn’t explain it very well in the video, but I think this means that now you can’t drop a full tier 3 burst, then swap weapons and instantly drop a tier 1 burst (with the leftover adren from burst mastery or berserker’s stance). you have to wait the full recharge time, even if you swap your weapon set.

I was pretty satisfied with the overrall warr changes til I saw this, and now that I think about it I’m pretty sure you’re correct. Unless Cleansing Ire is a typo, the new GM cleansing ire activates when you use a burst skill, you no longer have to actually land a hit with it. This means if you have full adrenaline and use a burst skill you can proc CI then switch to your second weap set and if you get 30 adren again proc it again which makes 6 condis cleared.

Not only that but it also works for Berserker’s Power, you can stack it by using a burst skill with max adren then switch and activate level 1.

I’m sure Anet noticed this and nerfed burst skills for it which is a load of bull. I don’t see why they don’t put internal cool downs on CI and Berserker’s power to 8 seconds instead of nerfing the burst mechanic overall

Ok nvm I just took a longer look at the text

using a burst skill for your equipped weapon will now set the recharge of all adrenaline tiers of that burst skill

I’m pretty sure this means that all weapons share the same cooldown based on the adrenaline tier.

For example; you use a t3 Eviscerate then switch to GS. With burst mastery you can still use a t1 Arcing Slice, however if you use Signet of Fury or have Berzeker stance activated you cannot use t3 Arcing Slice until the cooldown from when you used the t3 Eviscerate is over.

So tier 1, tier 2, and t3 burst skills all share cooldowns from their persepctive tiers. If you use a t1 burst skill on one weapon you cannot use a t1 burst skill on another weapon after switching but you can use the t2 or t3 burst skill of that weapon because they don’t share the t1 cooldown.

If that’s the case it’s not a big deal, you can still blast finish with bow+hammer or use eviscerate+arcing slice burst. It only makes it so you can’t spam the same tier burst skill over and over

unbelievable if it’s true, not sure why anet would let something this confusing pass.
and like what’s the point, you can skill combo the t3 and t2, what makes it not OK for double T3 combo and in order to do t3 combo you need signet of fury or healing surge…

Such disappointment, i was looking for new mechanics in order to change the flow of the game play.

But instead, they removed skillful mechanics.
keeping warrior even simpler and boring to play, why is that. what’s happening.
timing your condition convert with micro condi management with shout to get good boon was a pretty big part between a good warrior and a bad warrior.

now everybody just spam w/e condition cleanse you have and call it a day.

and more passives! that double leap finisher doesnt change your gameplay at all, just passive duration buff

Quick note, if you have problems surviving as Warrior vs organized team, you’d have greater problems when you play other professions. It actually requires higher skills to survive. Against pre-made, single player wouldn’t be able to do much anyway. Using pre-made example vs soloing is quite a bad example because it’s always unfair and tough to fight pre-made as soloer.

Also, Warrior is quite powerful and highly needed in all teams, this is a fact proven by TOL and WTS. If you find it weak maybe that’s your own problem. You can have your own perception of how weak Warrior is, but you cannot deny that it is currently the Top 2 powerful classes proven by facts. Just like you can have your own perception of how some other professions may be more powerful, but facts and statistic prove otherwise. The greed comes from when want even more power when you don’t want to have any trade-off, which kind of be a trend of recent Warrior posts.

have you ever played in any tournament or inhous with radioactive, genesis and lpbw to be teaching me stuff? I know exactly what it is like to go against organised group

and I actually have 10x game played on any other classes then you most likely.

I dont know where people can get the confident to say stuff like that without any experience whatsoever

and people often mistake the concept of being strong, they look at shoutbow and shoutbow beat them, they are like OMG warrior so strong, but the real strength is when you can build zerker and perform and survive, building to shoutbow is not a sign of strong, you can build settler condi mesmer and beat anyone in the game, you can build tanky condi ranger can beat anyone in the game, you can build tanky condi and beat anyone in the game without effort, but no body likes these kind of builds, not even warriors, we can to do DPS if we can actually possible to use zerker or any DPS variations, we will do it..but we cant

If there is any class/build that can survive group burst, a team opening from stealth, it is totally OP. No build should be able to counter good tactics.

unless its extremly well timed well organized stealth group burst, zerker thief med guard engi and even mesmer all have a way bigger chance of surviving a stealth openner compare to shoutbow, let’s not mention runes of vamprism as well

The problem is not cleansing ire.

The problem is general survival of warrior against constant easy damage application and sigil proc bursts.

The problem is, how can a warrior survive when there’s so much damage going on and stealth group burst can happen every 10 seconds.

Shoutbow getting one shot by organized team with stealth opening happens on daily basis.
But shoutbow has it easy compare to other warrior builds, because it’s pretty close to the tankiest build a warrior can have.
so it can grind through damage with healing and toughness and high HP pool
but still it gets one shot by stealth opener quiet easily.

what about other builds.
Stance war, PTV hambow with stances can not survive the group burst that’s happening so often, Stances only save you one times in 60 seconds while within these 60 seconds there can be at least 10 group burst that can insta kill you.

It’s also impossible to run away when there are thief with insta auto pilot gap closer with air fire sigil proc on auto attack, warrior’s HP pool did not keep up with the sudden damage increase in the game with air fire proc, it’s impossible.

What about counter play? if a thief chase you then you just counter it by being offensive right? Like A med guard. No, because none of you skill will hit.
Which led to another point, every single skill on warrior are incredible hard to land, every single combo as well, they are slow and clunky, You can avoid Whirling attack just by walking to another direction, Why is it so, Why there are DPS builds that are infinitely better at surviving still has better damage application and does more damage.

The problem is not that Warrior is blackholed in to Cleansing ire, the reason why warriors choose cleansing ire is the exact same reason why every single build of warrior has to be bunk build and become more and more tanky buildt as time pass in order to survive.

Incredible low survive with incredibly impossible to land skills, please Anet, do something about it, there’s no logic behind it, I’m not asking to have incredible survive with incredible easy damage application, just one.. just one of them, like necro, med guard, w/e…

This whole thing is turning into “mandatory for pvp”, which is a weak argument because the same arguments could be made for Arcana, Soul Reaping, etc. That’s not that big of a deal. Nature Magic and Wilderness Survival could feel just as necessary to have some sort of Condi removal because otherwise pvp is suicide. Common issue to find certain attributed more suited for pvp. Not a reason to be handed everything for free.

evasive Arcana is not mandatory either, main fresh air build is 06044, most PVe build dont have it at all, sure, if you really want to argue that its mandatory “in pvp”, I dont care, I would say its about mandatory as cleansing ire.

I understand perfectly what you are saying, but you fail to realize that every single example you gave are pvp mandatory ( non of the example are actually really pvp mandayory either, but we will just say they are) they are just as mandatory as cleansing ire, no more no less.
while fast hand its mandatory for the class itself in order to be competitive in all areas of the game, not just PvP alone

Warrior sprint should not be base line because it’s not a necessity to perform, it’s more of an option.
I would consider Cleansing Ire to be minor, but i was looking at the new core specialization trait lines and i do believe that non cleansing ire build might come to light.

It’s funny that I don’t even main thief, but as a Mesmer I get annoyed by people complaining about instant skills.

What is your justification that steal is OP?

Simply put, with 60606 a 21 second cooldown that:

Deals damage
Heals
Gains initiative
Poisons for a long duration and weakens due to Lotus Poison.
Steals (not rips) 2 boons STARTING with stability (biggest joke of the skill imo)
Shares Boons,
Grants vigor fury swiftness and might~ aoe.
Stealth a for 3 seconds. (Instantly opening for a stealth attack)
Aoe blinds.
Teleports you to your target.
Dazes the enemy.
Gives you an additional skill.
And has a chance to reset some of your most vital skills.

Is too kitten much in one INSTANT skill on a 21 second cooldown. No one thinks that list is at all ridiculous?? Really? O.o

Well look to all the stuff a mesmer can trait for on a shatter. It includes heals/boons/applied conditions/condition removal/stuns/dazes/interrupts/evades.

An elementalist can trait for all manner of benefits using their own special skills whwnever they switch an attunement which can b done faster then a steal and is not subject to being dodged.

I do not see the problem.

Ignorance on the next level, make a list and lets see if the effect makes half the list of steal while being one button and insta cast.

Sigh…make all the shatters 1 button and proceed thanks for not noticing my point.

Every class have mandatory lines, thats how it is, how it was and how it be.

No class has a trait as mandatory on every single build as much as Fast Hands is to warrior.

And you can play another 5k hours, I bet you still won’t understand why.

To be fair, that’s a double edged blade. Yeah, it’s hard to build without it. But one could also argue no one has a trait as impactful to any build they could possibly make at any given time. So while it might be too mandatory and counter argument could very well be that the trait itself (not the class) is far too powerful.

while you can say that this trait is far too powerful it doesn’t disapprove anything, because every warrior take this trait to be Part of the balance. without it warrior can not even be part of this game and should probably be deleted, its like someone plays settler in a speed run.. its just….. you know..

why thief op?
first, high stealth/group stealth uptime
group stealth burst can one shot even the bunkiest build in game, no counter play.
stealth make it difficult to call out number, its way easier to count numbers when enemy has no thief and counter rotate.
insane mobility, best backcap class, best survibility as zerker
easy insta teleport burst = less coordination skill required, less chance to be avoid

Well the OP mains warrior so its a quite nice buff for him. These changes are horrible and if they make it live all movement skills like rush need to be treated as rtl and give them double cd if they wont hit anything. I am fed up with thieves escaping from a losing fight, now i am supposed to watch baddie war escaping as well? The history repeats itself, first was ele who rtl away to be back within few seconds at full hp, now gs warriors will take that role running in/out at will.

Finally People be able to use mobility skills to disengage!? how unacceptable!
i’m sorry not everyone has 20 weapon skills and each skill have distinct usage so 2x CD on one skill can be less impactful for them.

no don’t start hiding behind excuses now…you yourself mentioned the disengage being to much with this change….well then….atm the thief is the only one who can so consitently and flawlessly disengage from almost every given situation…even in a 10v1 thieves get away fairly easy…..don’t hide behind excuses or lies…don’t point at others saying this or that…you yourself brought it up…and got countered

How is that hiding behind excuses? There’s a difference between limiting disengage potential through counterplay and full on removing stealth/teleports/disengage skills (ALL of which need more counterplay imo) all together. Once again you’re turning a discussion about game mechanics into a “WOE IS THE POOR WARRIOR” pity party. Does every post in a thread about one specific game mechanic need to come with an endless disclaimer of every other poorly designed mechanic that also needs more counterplay just to appeal to the people looking for any excuse to derail the discussion? Every post would be a page long. It’s not like balancing one mechanic is mutually exclusive with balancing something else as well, so stop being myopic.

Honestly this will be my last post in here, because there’s no point continuing in a thread that’s been taken over by someone who’s posted 51 times in 4 pages and has somehow managed to contribute essentially nothing beyond “NUH UH”. Well i get it, you want easymode to turn brain off and just kill people on left and right. I swung a greatsword, i swung it again, hey its great, lets swung it once more.

Thiefs can apply bursts easier but..have you ever played thief? Do you think its easy to land a burst vs a decent player on a thief? Yeah you definitely not played one.

Im asking, why rtl was nerfed? I mean you could use it 15-20sec (after nerf) to run away, no big deal at all right? Thieves disengage are a whole different thing, stop creating power creep by asking for a underserved buffs.

Either way this thread turned into a qq fest spam and it would be nice for a mod to lock it.

Well its the same thing for every other class, every medi guard is hammer now, every thief is d/p, every ele is d/d, every engi is cele rifle, every mesmer is shatter. Also, it has nothing to do with warriors not being in the meta. If my main was in the meta I would be advocating for buffs to classes that weren’t in the meta first, and builds that weren’t second (That’s the difference between you and me, I’m looking for balance not to be an overlord). Many warrior players seem to have this ego that every one of their builds should be meta, even though there are classes that have barely been represented in competitive pvp at all (aka necros for less than two months, and rangers for less than a year).

If I had to make a list of classes I think should be out of the meta first this would be it:

1) Thief (been meta since day 1)
2) Guard (^)

good post, though i think the mesmer 25% speed and less criple will be huge, basicaly add 5-10% dmg from not runing traveler runes

A good player on a class doesn’t mean the class is strong. A weak class with a very good player can still beat a less skilled player on a stronger class.

That said, I don’t think necros are as weak as the OP is suggesting.

Your augment is flawed, it’s not simply a good player on a class in soloq hotjoin.
it’s a good players against good players in 2v2 in a tournament and being succesful, which completely stands and counters previous opinion.

if you say hes good player but hes not being succesful then your argument may stand, but it’s not the case, which only led to player skill, and game should not be balanced around bad players.

Also, it has nothing to do with warriors not being in the meta. If my main was in the meta I would be advocating for buffs to classes that weren’t in the meta first, and builds that weren’t second (That’s the difference between you and me, I’m looking for balance not to be an overlord). Many warrior players seem to have this ego that every one of their builds should be meta, even though there are classes that have barely been represented in competitive pvp at all (aka necros for less than two months, and rangers for less than a year).

If I had to make a list of classes I think should be out of the meta first this would be it:

1) Thief (been meta since day 1)
2) Guard (^)

More like goodbye hard counter.

literally these two conditions completely shut down gs mobility in PvP, let’s not mention how easy it is to apply cripple. you already slows it down and you want to reduce distance too? it’s not intended and it’s stupidly hard counter.
zerker war will still be the harder zerker spec to perform well against a capable team even without distance reduction

lets not mention NECRO is getting dash on reaper
too be honest lets keep it like now and we shall see people suffer for their own mistake
