people seems to forget the fact that it’s capture the point conquest
I can agree with holosmith, even then it has limitations with the heating mechanism but soulbeast is garbage , riddled with bugs, smoke assault is nerfed and is only a portion of the time and doesn’t even proc evades.. While the idea of soulbeast might seem like it’s “more warrior than warrior” , it’s not , it’s a really bad class and it is only even mentioned because of the pet bug that allows it to do 40k+ dmg , which will be fixed.
Spellbreaker is a really good spec and while I main ranger, I’ve actually had a fun time on spellbreaker and might even swap over. I’m still not done testing with scourge or mirage though.
Doesn’t matter trash tier or not, soulbeast is so versatile, merging with tank pet gives you heavy armor tier armor and some pets gives you F skill stunbreak was something warrior need for a long time so we can actually take more offensive utilities, instead of trashing them for years..tons of evade frame that makes on your face warrior style melee more reliable as well and a damaging roar…tell me that’s not warrior and i’m purely taking about game play concepts. Doesn’t matter trash tier or not, soulbeast is definitely more warrior like then warrior
not even a full weekend in and people already complaining. Unless you have played warrior for 5 years as a main and have tried every single new sigil, rune, weapon and trait combination possible, you have no place in saying that something is bad.
That being said, I notice that a lot of warriors don’t know how to be ‘squishy’, which it seems that the SpellBreaker will certainly be. This build is VERY dependent on Full Counter which is awesome because it makes you think about when to use it. Warriors that make the best use of Full Counter will be the best warriors in PvP.
Also, double weapons in this game will ALWAYS be horrible for warrior in PvP. When has Axe/Axe, or Sword/Sword, or any other double weapon combo in the game EVER been viable for warrior? I won’t even mention Mace/Mace. lol. Use a shield. It’s literally the best weapon in the game for the warrior.
i played warrior for 5 years in pvp..and i say full counter is pretty easy to dodge. Doesn’t matter squishy or not, warrior lacks the utility/reliable disengage to actually be the burst class that fills the team like thief/guard/mes, unless your burst damage is off this world, like when rampage was buffed but then people learned to dodge and rampage was nerfed
warrior will always be/can only be tanky brawler in pvp in high end 5v5

i think hard light arena is mostly wants you to fight inside the area and melee right?
but in the current meta, there’s no way you can stay in it
sure you get protection, but if it’s mesmer or necro or condit builds you are doomed, can’t stay inside
why do you want utilities to generate heat….you will be constantly killing yourself…cant even sustain….
and holo utitlies dont generate heat either..

i think you are playing pve hunting white mobs and butterflies that’s right we are not playing the same gamee
well folks if you haven’t figured it out you can easely drop the holosweapon after you are done gaining 50% heat when you use the 2nd grandmastertrait. Afterwards you can not loose the heat other than by overheating so it stays 50% and all youre skills are effected by the better version of it. So in total the engineer gains good controlskills, some nice damageskills and a few good traits that also push his conditiondamage alongside the skills. The support role of him is not so strong but he gains good damage in exchange and even better controlskills which is allways good.
That is why i call Holosmith a “Selfish” DPS Elite Spec.
It is a Elite Spec that focus on causing High Damage by itself but in return it lacks greatly in Party Utility and Support. Not a very popular choice of Class/Job design but RPG and MMOs do have these type of Class/Job as part of player choices to play as since these Job/class are known to be very high in DPS output to compensate for their lack of Utility and Support.
you already have so many utilities…like what are you even talking about…i used to main war, i so wished to simply swap a utility and cover everyone from boss projectiles and carry the win since pugs cant dodge back in the 2013 fractal days
like you already have a tons of team support utility options…
all you have to do is a simple swap of utilities you still maintain the high damage upgrade holo forge skills…

renegade is brawler type, like scraper, tons of aoe control, might stacking ability

the weaver is the cool kid, nice animation and stuff, but it does not hit. Repeat, it does not hit. 130 range for sword skill 1 and mostly all the dual attacks from sword has the same range, 130. A core celestial DD ele can easily rekt celestial SD weaver, why? the weaver cant hit dd core ele.
now you understand the pain of a melee warrior and warrior doesnt have blind or shadowstep either…literally when your enemy start to run and both of you have swiftness there’s no way a warrior will catch up with the only gap closer on weapon and the other one being axe with no gap closer lol…at least you have a lot more movement skills to choose from
tbh holo feels like a burst class to me, now i’m running HGH holo build

Also Bow has way less damage than Hammer on power builds.

remember hambow? power build with bow on warrior, bow is condi weapon with way less damage compare to rifle and rifle sucked big time

Yeah. Sorry Anet, but holosmith feels super uninspired. Flashy animations and high damage numbers can’t make up for that.

Surprisingly, spellbreaker has synergy with arms trait line
Full counter and dagger burst are both high damage aoe skill with low cool down and full counter resets burst skill, so arms trait line is actually worth to take now
so you can take amulet like Valkyrie or Carrion and still constantly do big crits aoes

Strength 3-1-3
spellbreaker 3-2-2
with carrion runes
try it its pretty cool
Strength line is replacable if you are not running carrion, if you go valkyrie you can go maybe defense line with Rousiing resillience or discipline for condi removal and lower cost bursts

you know why infuse light is better? not only rev has another healing skill
because you can pre cast facet of light and insta cast infuse light, you can insta cast it when you are CCed and every thing, so you don’t need to predict incoming burst and enemy can’t predict when you will use it
defiant stance, if you are CC’ed, gg no heal for you, if you predicted wrong, GG no heal for you, if enemy predicted/saw you casting it, GG no heal for you
Yea they are really just spirits. Sucks a lot. I wish they would change them but they will not. The engi is a perfect example. They revealed gyros and we all said please god no more ai. And we still got em.
Honestly renegade doesn’t strike me as a pvp spec, same way as spellbreaker is more of a pvp spec. In pve they’re fine since they changed how aoe damage hurts AIs, they’re basically unkillable there.
honestly renegade will be as good as longbow on war which is insanely good on both
and i think AI rev will be insanely good because it has two sets of utility

OT: i prefer the one right now, it’s way better, i’ve played the thief one mostly in raid, i prefer this one better, i don’t understand OP’s point of view, both forces you to dodge to maintain buff, while the warrior one can empty your endurance first and maintain a way longer buff, thief one, if you are forced to dodge an attack after you dodged for buff, you are left with empty endurance and no buff and you are forced to pop signet or heal to up keep the buff but you lose signet buff or heal for when need, in the end it’s literally the same thing while the thief one you have to constantly look at your buff bar
also i assume you have this in mind only because you play open world and your build has GS

or something like x/shield lb defense discipline spellbreaker condi based. like always
anyway, anything that ends with lb, defense/discipline/spellbreaker and a “unkillable” on point fighter
This is simply not true, warrior can put out an overwhelming amount of dps/cc pressure while being seemingly unkillable if played correctly. I think a lot or you guys are not understanding how busted Might Makes Right is.
i think i understand it more then you do. i’ve played dodge power war since 2012 pre building momentum nerf that’s my thing, it doesnt make warrior a team comp worthy dps LOL, did you even read my thread, just watch after the meta settle and tell me if you see any DPS burst warrior in high end tournament

Problem with warrior in PvP is it has no snowball potential (mostly means teleport/stealth to target and deals killing blow instantly/really fast)
warrior can not do that, that’s why it will never be the team’s DPS like mesmer, thief, revenant, guardian can be. warrior had like a really short lived DPS glory because the rampage damage was off the chart and people didn’t adapt fast enough, but that’s it.
Warrior also does not have reliable range options, like Necro, Ranger etc.
So the only roles a warrior can play is Support; Condition/Power On-point brusier
(shoutbow, hambow, macebow)
now let’s look at support, auramancer completely out shines shoutbow in every support way. ( Ofcourse, warrior’s class philosophy is no magic, no flashy stuff, no complex tools)
So basically warrior get’s completely outshine in support utilities or DPS snowball potential roles….AND you have a bruiser who can stealth to disengage and some DPS who can lasts longer then warrior.
Just because of anet’s warrior class position and everything ( so won’t ever have actual reliable disengage other then leap/rush) watch they buff warrior sustain and call it a day and warrior will be meta bruiser again and people will cry about unkillable warrior all over again like the past 9000 years
i can do that with only gs and no second set weapon

might makes right is good, after building momentum nerf full dodge to only 15 endurance i cant literally play power gs/lb war
but now its kind of back to where it was with them endurance gain, extra healing too
i can play with my old combo and dodge damage war now
but again power war is still useless in serious pvp..not damage or survive problem but tool is not as good compare to other power classes

Lolno, its a cute anti bunker thats only good in birst. It’ll be about as scary as current power shiro; not scary at all. I mean war with infinite resistance isn’t scary at all, just walk away from them. I can imagine this war getting deleted by any condi build in the games second rotation.

rev has good mobility…you dont need herald swiftness…you get stuff, axe and shiro…even you have no target for shiro 8 you can bind your fast turn and use shiro 7 tho that takes some practice
ranger is too op, has not only the player skills, also the pet which is unfair 2v1
also invisibility, long range burst, aoe and knock back in a single weapon is also unfair
you can return to the jungle any time you want if you bought HoT
photon has a 2 sec cd gap closer.
