how is warrior good at CC again?….
you have chaos storm, earthquake,updraft. steal, mantra, daze shatter, iwave, doom, reaper’s mark, overcharged shot, hammer ring, banish. there’s cc that goes through stab like steal and shatter, and there’s corruption for counter stab CC and there’s CC that works on down body like updraft, banish etc….and there’s unblockable CC, like venom with choke gas..and magnetic pull..
not sure how hammer and mace and shield are any good at CC…
rampage is no where close to OP when there’s mesmer and ele.

Thing is that, i don’t see the synergy within the limited number of weapons.
If you go condition, you have mace/axe, then what, what will be your secondary set?
and hammer is the most boring ranged weapon i’ve ever played and has even greater telegraphed skills then warrior hammer..i feel like even warrior rifle will be more viable then hammer, until i’m proved other wise in game.
i’m not sure how the balancing progress works, but i’m now really interested to see how the revenant would be balanced to viable with only one weapon set.
simply because i don’t like any other weapon set and i can not see the synergy between weapons either, specially the hammer one, but we will see after we play with the buff.
and weapon sets are bind to legends and legends are bind to play style and stats (condi, zerker, tank, healer).
was weapon swap already determined inside the balance team? or did they have other solution which may be better. because it was clearly underpowered.
what if we don’t get weapon swap, instead, we get triple legend…
TBH, i don’t like it.
Let’s look at other classes, like ranger, guardian, they simply swap and they know the sigils will be off CD, and just use the weapon for the sigils or procs they want.
Warrior, still the same thing. just use the weapon for the sigils or procs they want.
Ele and Engi, they only have one set of sigils, so you only need to time the cooldowns and you will know when it’s ready and have it’s use..
But with revenant procing the sigils with both, i feel like it’s gonna be messy and forced random procs and wasted procs will be all over the place.

Haha…just pray Anet doesn’t realize that 3s stun on 5 targets with no cooldown is insane. It forces the entire enemy team to either blow a defensive cooldown or dodge and can be used multiple times in a row (run with two revenants for max lol, perma team stun). Comparatively, BV is single target 1s stun on a 40s cooldown that’s blockable. Oh no, how will you survive that…/sarcasm

Jade Winds has a huge green telegraph and a long animation.
Plus you can’t spam it. It’s 50 energy, you can use it twice in a row, then once every 10 seconds. But if you do it you can’t do anything else. Not even use weaponskills except auto attack.If it becomes op then they can simply add some cooldown, but I don’t think that’s the case.
Overall Revenant is a seriously underpowered class atm. Way inferior to Guardian, but also inferior to Thief.
It’s not easy for most classes to get out of the 600 range radius in the 1 second it takes to use it, assuming they are even able to see it coming.
It should be noted that I’m not necessarily arguing that JW is OP. It may or not be, we’ll just have to see it in action more. My argument is that BV is definitely not balanced correctly in comparison. Thieves are a high risk high reward profession, but for the most part the risk is higher than the reward in the current state of the game, and BV is not worthy of being an elite in its current state.
It’s not easy for most classes to avoid Basilisk Venom, but it’s easy for people to dodge Jade wind.
It should be noted that im not arguing that Venom is OP. I’m just saying that Jade Wind is UP. And Revenant is high risk high reward, but for the most part risk is higher for revenant, while thief has lower risk but gives more reward, which is a fact.

Yeah that 1 second of stun behind a second long cast time and 40 second cooldown is so OP.
Yea that 3 second stun behind a huge obvious telegraphed easily dodgeable animation which also cause all your energy from the start is so OP.
Now that we know about the Shiro legend, I cannot help feel that Jade Wind needs a buff to bring it more in line with thieves. Lets compare them to highlight what I mean:
Jade Wind costs 50 energy, which in result you can’t use your other skills (keep in mind, rev start with 50 energy)
Basilisk Venom doesn’t cost any energy, it uses cooldown, so you can combo your stun with your other energy consuming skills.
Basilisk Venom combos with your other skill, so you use your burst and your burst will have stun effect
Jade Wind has no synergy with other burst, it has it’s own que time and cause way too many energy.
Basilisk Venom can be prepared before the fight.
Jade Wind can only be used during the fight to have an effect
Jade wind can not be pre casted, so you have your energy regain back before the fight.
Basilisk Venom can be comboed with skill like steal or sword 2 for 1200/900 range stun
Jadewind is only 600 radius
Basilisk Venom can be comboed with instacast
Jadewind has huge telegraphed animation.
I know that Basilisk has a decent cooldown time, and therefore you will only need to use it off cooldown brainlessly, but IMO it still seems more powerful than JW.
With the exception of the high energy cost, I have always felt JW should be a normal utility skill rather than an elite. Now that we have a very silimar (more powerful) version of JW in BV, I feel it is time for a buff to JW. If JW can be instant casted and be comboed with other skills, or a less energy cost, or less obviously animation, then I would be happier with it.

Also, besides likely having higher HP and armor, a DPS revenant can also swap to Jalis on the fly for extra durability or Ventari for heals. We’ll just have to wait and see what their damage is like, but I’m not optimistic.

doesn’t matter tho, theres no point using a cc with 1 second cast time with huge animation with only 600 radius and cant combo with teleport….. because people will simply dodge it….
you have to go in fight the guy, bait dodges then hope you still have energy for it

no customization is pretty bad because you are forced to use the skills set dev provide, which most of the time had skill that are useless, you can not simply customizr your skill to match the current meta, either they keep revenant on a frequent update or I dont see it being too good in pvp

so you are just the flavor of the month kind of the guy, i’m pretty sure you played thief for the same reason, since it’s always viable and carried with stealth and powerful opener and pretty much godly in wvw, until mesmer took over.

That’s really up to the skill of the player. You win some you lose some. You learn, adapt, try new builds and move on.
My main in GW1 was an Assassin/x. When GW2 came out, I was hoping to play my sin again but the closest thing at the time was Thief, so that became my main.
So now we have Shiro, the Assassin character I was looking for. Ty, Anet.
I know I’m going to miss out on stealth, blinds, bv , steal and the holy bp – hs combo. I’m ok with trying something else for now.
im just responding to people who say revenant is so much better and kill thief for breakfast, thief dead, rev strong, nerv please.
nothing really survival, just like litany of wrath nothing so viable in my view.

Last Beta I could kill thieves. I even had DP thieves thinking Rev was somehow OP. If you use Mallyx (UA especially) correctly and now with a buffed hammer damage, it’s really no issue. Save your projectile wall for when they swap to short bow and have UA on hand for when they swap, you can toy with them really hard. I did it a lot even last beta where the class was terrible.
Mesmers are the real problem…
the thieves you met must be incredible bad, or just have no idea what is a revenant.
5 is incredible telegraphed, wall is nothing for any melee set, 3 is incredible telegraphed, 2 is incredible telegraphed and closer = less damage.

an effective of a class is not determined by how cool the skills look and how many skills they can use, im surprised people still haven’t realize it after the first open beta.

the weakness and fury gives you literally nothing.
only use i can imagine is in very close duels, game is not involved around duels and close duels are not common.
another use is to use mesmer clones to gain fury and that’s it.
it’s situational, useless, please remove them.
you already had the 25% self HP threshold which increase damage, you already know it’s useless, not sure why 25% enemy HP threshold would make any difference.
also that arms line, all three adept traits are around precision and crit chance…where’s the diversity? they all give precision(crit chance) in the end, just one is better then most. how is that even a choice.
i guess 3/4 is considered long cast time now..
The tooltip is a bit misleading. Grim Specter is actually ~1 second cast, plus projectile travel speed.
It’s effect is great, and I always try to use it if applicable, but Lich Form cast times are stupidly long aside from the auto and have bad tooltips regarding them.
Chilling Wind, for example, is ~1/2 second cast, double the listed cast time. Plus a buggy hitbox that doesn’t always hit, even when the animation is clearly covering a foe.
every thing can be said for all rampage skills including auto, or worst…
Buggy hitboxes and misleading cast time tooltips apply to Rampage? Methinks not.

as far as I know, shout build still use signet, and shoutbow with shout heal is counter productive, it already gives full adrenaline, so the adre from trait will be nothing
