wrapped up in some crazy ritualist hoo-ha from Cantha.
A real grab bag of ‘you can’t hurt me. They’re called Guardians.
Right know I have 3 80’s which I play actively. A sylvari guardian called Namocol, which uses mostly a “knight in shining armor” style, a Norn Mesmer called Loco the Man, which mostly uses a “fancy scary clown” style, and a newly 80 Asura Warrior called Lokko Mann (you can see I follow a pattern with the names), which at first when I created it was planning on going the old standard red and black scary warrior look but after getting him a couple of the jade weapons, I’m going for a “dragon warrior” look, with gold and green armor, dragon helmet. Still much of a work in progress, working on his final look (screenshot pending, I’m at work so don’t have one at hand).
My other two characters are a level 12 charr engineer that I’m still pondering about leveling, for some reason it didn’t “click” with me like the guardian, mesmer and warrior did (I may delete it and try ranger or thief, mostly to have one character of each armor class and each race, but I’m also finding an elementalist interesting) and a level 3 human necromancer that is mostly acting as a banking mule for the time being.
Neither… I prefer showing off things that look cool or fit with the character used.
If I ever beat Liadri and get the mini, for example, I’d still most likely never use it, mainly because I find tiny versions of fully grown humans weird looking (now if I had a “Chibified” version of Liadri as a mini would be different), I’d still much rather use other minis like the holographic knight or mini wind rider that mostly just got out of luck.
Same with weapons or armor. For example, if I managed to get the fractal’s greatsword, for example, that requires both luck and skill to play on the higher level fractals, chances are I’d still use the guild commendations greatsword that I feel looks cooler and fits better with the general look of my guardian and that mostly just required showing up at guild missions to get.
One way to check how skills worked before is to check previous edits of the GW2 wiki (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Main_Page). Look for the skill you want to check, click on history, and look at any date before the change was announced.
As for the pink fellblade (though I think it’s more magenta than pink), according to Dulfy’s it’s called Lord Taeres’s Shadow
In the Sky Pirates of Tyria event, when you defeat Mai Trin in the dungeon, she says that “Scarlet will not be pleased” but later refuses to talk about who Scarlet is, implying that this mysterious “Scarlet” was behind everything.
The opening ceremony was crashed by aetherblade led by a female sylvari named “Suspicious Figure”, some people speculate that she’s Scarlet (note that she’s wearing all red clothes, unlike the rest of the aetherblade that wear different colors).
Now on the 20th a new patch is coming, Queen’s Speech, and the website announcing it was defaced, among them red X’s were drawn on top of queen’s jennah’s image, and a “Scarlet was here” graffitti on the background.
Plus some external MMO related websites were given a clock as a gift with a poem that talked about how on the 20th Scarlet was going to have her fun, teaching a lesson to the people in divinity’s reach, and warming her hands in kryta’s flames (http://www.guildwars2guru.com/news/1220-watch-out-for-scarlet-on-august-20th/)
Another detail that points to the suspicious figure being scarlett… right before leaving she says “Aw, you spoiled my fun. Now I’m going to have to make a special project out of you”, and the poem says “It’s time for Scarlet to have her fun”

Try the mystic forge?
Don’t know if it works with the whispers gear, but sometimes you can use soulbound items on the mystic forge, and the result sometimes is a non soulbound item that you can sell or salvage (at least it has worked for me).
Only the 14g you got would generate inflation, and isn’t that much different from what people was getting before by CoF farming in the same time.
Inflation in real life happens when the money loses value, and since a game is a strictly closed enviroment, the only way for that to happen is for new coins being introduced into the economy. The two crystal guardians you got, for example, aren’t causing inflation because when you sell them on the TP it’s not generating any new money, it’s just moving money around from one player to the other… actually it’s taking money out of the system because if you received 34g it means someone paid 39g for it, so 5g was paid in the TP tax (AKA, dissapeared), same with anything you sell on the TP. Also, as we’ve seen already, prices for those skins tend to go down as time goes by because as more of them keep dropping, supply keeps increasing, while demand tends to go down as people who wants them gets them, either by drops or TP purchases (actually, I’d say that a LOT of gold is being taken away from the system just from people that listed the new champion skins for hundreds of gold, price went down, and now they have to either leave them there for good or take them out to relist, losing 10% of the gold they listed it for).
Deadeye farming is having a bigger effect on inflation (IMHO) than all the champion farming both in and out of the pavillion, because that is creating new coins and adding them to the economy, but it’s something temporary so I don’t think it’ll have that big of an effect in the end.
Have the account owner open a ticket, if he/she can’t get access to his/her account to do it in-game, it can also be done here: https://support.guildwars2.com/ he’ll probably have to demonstrate his identity and give proof of ownership of the game, and they usually do a one time rollback of accounts when they’re hacked (may also reverse the guild losses, no idea), but it’ll probably take a few days (there’s a thread in the support section where you can post ticket numbers for cases that aren’t solved after 3 days for them to get extra attention, so I guess that’s how long you’re expected to wait), so in the meanwhile I guess you might want to create an alternate guild and invite everyone to it until it’s all sorted out.

A dev stated that the queen’s gauntler will return either as part of other events or as part of the regular event rotation, and that the achievements will be completable at a later date, and since the mini is an achievement reward, I’m guessing it’ll return as well.
…I’ve got the amulet already but fail to see how should I use the laurels then.
On Chauncey von Snuffles III, of course… how can you resist the runner-up in the Divinity’s Reach Fanciest Cat competition?…
Bonus Paragraph: They don’t create content every two weeks. They have four teams on a rotation, leading to a total development time of 8 weeks on each content update. The queens speech will be the first update with a fully loaded 8 week dev time and the updates thereafter will be on this regimented schedule.
Wouldn’t that be 12 weeks, not 8? Each team’s offering is up for 4 weeks, then there are three other teams, each with their content up for 4 weeks before the 1st team is due again. 3 × 4 = 12.
While each teams content is indeed up for 4 weeks, they overlap.
Example queen’s gauntlet opened up on august 6th and will run until september 3rd. Four weeks.
However the Queen’s speech starts on august 20th. Overlapping the queens gauntlet by 2 weeks.
So four teams, with releases every two weeks equals 8 weeks for development time.
Wait, so Cutthroat Politics was a different team than Zephyr Sanctum? And Zephyr Sanctum was up for 4 weeks but Cutthroat was only up for two. I thought that each team prepared 4 weeks of content patched at the start and again halfway through.
Actually we don’t know. Personally I think that each team produces the whole 4 weeks, so I think cuttroath politics was probably made by the same team that did the bazaar, sky pirates by the dragon bash and so on.
To be honest I enjoyed the english one…. after 1m 30secs, that is…
I always said that the rest of it before that would have worked better as a trailer for The Secret World.
Personally as far as I’m concerned this is the real GW2 english trailer..
Well, right now there’s just no way to get it without playing GW1. Keep an eye for it, though, after all the fellblade greatsword is a HoM exclusive (need 23 points for it) but now you can also get the “Lord Taeres’s Shadow” sword that’s basically a reskinned version with glowing runes and black smoke around it.
then… don’t do it..
It’s a game.. something we do for fun, nothing else.. nobody is paying us to do it, nothing bad will appen if we don’t play, and heck, nobody but you will ever know if you decide to just not kill Liandri right now, or ever. If you’re not having fun, just don’t do it, go do something else.
People were clamoring for harder content, saying that nothing in PvE is challenging enough… well, we have something challenging now, it’s not for everyone but those that enjoy being challenged are enjoying the fight and having fun with it, if you’re not having fun, well, there’s a whole world out there to explore and have fun in.
BTW, that comes from someone that hasn’t beaten Liandri (much less with getting the achievement), but that is having a blast trying, and I will beat her eventually, if not now, maybe when it comes back. But of course, that also comes from an old school gamer, so maybe that affects the way I see things. Nothing seems as difficult when you played battletoads in the NES when it originally came out, managing to beat the turbo tunnel level, and then dying on the next level which meant you had to start the game all over from the beggining (no save games back then), including the turbo tunnel level again, which I did over and over and over and over… and had lots of fun doing it..

Rings cost 35 laurels (or 25 laurels + 250 badges of honor), and as everyone said it’s much easier to get them with fractals.
What costs 40 laurels + 50 ectos is the accesories, but the laurel price is intentionally high because to steer people towards doing guild missions, since it’s much cheaper to buy them with guild commendations (12 commendations + 5g for each accesory, you can earn up to 6 commendations a week if you do all guild missions).
If you don’t have a guild that does them, BTW, check on the LFG website on weekends (where most guilds do their missions) or here:
http://www.reddit.com/r/GuildMissions
lots of guilds run their missions weekly and do temporary invites for anyone that wants to help/get commendations.
I have to say my son has an Asura Warrior and he’s just a riot to watch in battle….
I have a female Norn Warrior and am very pleased with her (just hit LVL 80).
I made an asura warrior just because I love the animations of the little guy swinging the huge sword, and the little details like that tumble they make when jumping or stopping after running..
Check these:
http://argos-soft.net/GW2ArmorGallery/index.php?sex=0&weight=3&color=10&race=3
http://argos-soft.net/GW2ArmorGallery/index.php?sex=0&weight=3&color=10&race=1
(if the links don’t work, it’s the armor galleries for heavy armor on charr and norn).
The difference between one and the other is just cosmetic, see which armor you like better and go with it, IMHO. Also create a charr and play around with it a little bit, for some people the running on all 4’s thing is a big put off, others (like me) actually like it.
I think it’s normal for the asura armor. I’m not at home so can’t really check right now, but I do remember the asura heavy cultural armor being very reflective and shiney, at least when compared to other armors, at least T2 and T3 (that asura is wearing T3)
1. Agree, there should be a waypoint closer, or just auto-res you as you exit the dome. That said, if you get a dome with more than 1 person waiting, in my experience they usually res you (if there’s only 1 other person even if they try, chances are they’ll be teleported to the dome before they finish ressing you).
2. Disagree. They were very hard, but doable. I didn’t personally managed to do it, but at least one guild group I know managed them after the patch. Anet did state that they were meant to be very hard and a challenge even to the most organized groups. And IMHO… if you don’t find it fun… why are you doing them in the first place?.
3. They did state on the website that the reduction was for 4 weeks only, plus, I know you might find it hard to believe, but at least some of us did vote for her because we preferred her fractal being done..
4. Agree that 2 weeks might be pushing it a bit, but personally if I end up missing something because of RL, no biggie (again, that’s just me, might be different for other people)… and for the record, I do not want just more power to slaughter, I do want more challenging content even if it means paying for repairs… and BTW, the time their staff have to produce new content isn’t 2 weeks (you really think laberinthine cliffs could have been done in 2 weeks?), it’s 4 months that while is still quick, isn’t that far off the standard in the industry. They’re able to release every 2 weeks because they have multiple groups working on the living story.
Watchwork knights. Pocket Watch. Steampunk Aetherblades. Watchwork sprockets. Who invented the Watchwork knights? They are going haywire, it’s time we found their creator.
Maybe their inventor was Snaff? Snaff did say he was the only asura smart enough to make golems with heads…. the watchwork knights have heads…
Naw, I don’t think the creator is an asura, much less Snaff. Asuran technology is based on crystals imbued with magical energy, not in watchwork, and all of Snaff’s inventions were specially heavy on the use of crystals. Plus, I don’t think any Asura’s ego would handle inventing something like that (though I do belive the watchwork robots to be technologically inferior to asura golems) and not let everyone know.
All we know is that a dev posted in the forums saying that the Queen’s Gauntlet will return in the future as part of the events rotation, and that the achievements will be completable at a later date, will try to find the post and link it.
EDIT: found it:
Queen’s Gauntlet will return, possibly as part of the activity rotation or even other events. In any case, you’ll be able to complete those achievements at a later date.
Of course, it might mean it’ll return in a couple months, it might mean in a year, so no idea there.

It looks like there’s someone that isn’t happy with Queen Jennah’s and will probably crash the party on the next patch…
I suck at jumping puzzles, so I was rather excited when I finally managed to finish the skipping stones one on my mesmer, and started to advertise for portals to it on map chat… so I get some people interested (this was still during the southsun event), port them up, and then say “come on, the chest is over here” and jump to where it is…. only to miss it and splat myself on the floor far down below..
…I thought that was weird. What colour is sylvari blood?…
IIRC I think it was supposed to be a golden sap like substance, but don’t remember if it was in the novels or elsewhere I read it.
Queen Jenna: “You may address me now by my full name.. Queen Jenna Scarlet O’hare”..
Here are mine on the thread crescendoll posted, in case you want to see them (won’t post them again because I think it’s better to continue one of the already existing threads):
If you’re looking for inspiration, you can check that thread and maybe this one as well:
Also in each profession subforum there’s usually a thread to showcase characters of that particular profession, and I usually also like to visit here for inspiration on gear and dye combinations:
The real reson why Evon lost is…. (drum roll)…. because more vote tokens were casted for Kiel..
(This is going to blow your mind…) I voted for Kiel because I want to see the Thaumanova fractal.
Actually same here.
I do agree that the fall of Abbadon would have been epic… but honestly don’t think it would work in the sense of a fractal unless they oversimplify it. Fall of Abbadon was something huge, armies clashing, gods fighting all over, there’s no way it could be made justice in a 15 minutes fractal (don’t think it should be longer as it’s meant to be done as one out of 3 or 4 fractals, not on its own) unless it was made either as we being on the sidelines, or something like the zaithan battle.
On the other hand I do think the thaumanova explosion has great potential as a short but good experience. Note that I don’t think it’ll be just fighting golems and inquest followed by a simple explosion, the thing released chaotic energy that is still causing problems all over the place, bringing things and beings from other places (and maybe other times as well) just because of the residual energy left, what happened there wasn’t just a simple explosion, but time and space unraveling and mixing all over themselves, which is what I believe the fractal will be about (there was a dev post somewhere hinting about chaotic energy getting mixed with the essence of the mists).
If anything, the way I believe might look like is less CoE and more like the movie My Science Project (google it you kids, the full thing is available on youtube if you can stand mid-80’s cornyness which looked great when you were 9 years old), all sorts of enviroments and beings from the present, past and future of tyria clashing in the same spot, and heck, I’d even say we might even see things or people from GW1 there.
Well, we know that at least the queen’s gauntlet achievements will be completable:
Queen’s Gauntlet will return, possibly as part of the activity rotation or even other events. In any case, you’ll be able to complete those achievements at a later date.
“I beat Liandri and all I got was this lousy title (oh, and a pet)”..
Maybe too long..
There’s one sure way to beat her in time… just program the PC to start this music 1 minute after the fight begins..
I wouldn’t think health care would be a big sticking point for the Risen Priests…
But seriously, they should lower the rarity for something that you can easily get that many of and let you flush them down the toilet like so many risen goldfish.
Actually I think that will be the theme of a future living story, all the risen priests that were flushed down the toilet in LA grew up in the sewers and are now surfacing at night and attacking people so now you have a dungeon underneath LA where you have to fight hordes of giant albino risen priests..
The minigame counts as a daily achievement (so it’s a quick way to get one if you’re one short) but don’t count for the queen’s pavillion meta.
Staves do need some work, but at least we had the jade staff (the best looking jade weapon behind the shield, IMHO) and the super staff. I do agree that we need good looking staves, but IMHO they should focus on good looking pistols and daggers first, several weapon skin released have skipped them already.
Bleeding works on robots and elementals?
Yeah of course.
Poison works on robots and the undead?
Sure why not.
You can cripple and use traps on flying enemies?
Perfect sense.
Burning destroyers?
Woah there! Now your talking crazy!
Bleeding in robots could be leaking oil or something like that… but I want to know how it is that burning and bleeding work on the fire elemental in the reactor..
In the daily achievements list, there’s one that’s related to queen’s pavillion (the icon is also different to the other ones), that one counts as one achievement for the pavillion meta.
Since you’re looking for an adult minded guild, if you’re over 25 years old both The Older Gamers http://www.theoldergamers.com/ and The Old Timers Guild http://www.oldtimersguild.com/ are in Yak’s Bend.
were you here in the halloween cash grab? theres you answer if this is the most controversial update.
to answer you i think the most awful thing is you dont get any title for completing this. and thats what i find sad.. very sad.
Halloween cash grab? I don’t remember this. I remember the trick-or-treat bags, the clocktower, the events etc.. But can’t think of any cash grabs
Dont you remember the UNIQUE skins that were inside BLC some ppl opened about 300-500 chest buying BLK and got nothing, they after the kittenstorm they added in the MF a way to create another kind of BLC called MKC (mad king chest) people still got nothing and swear under the 6 gods they wouldnt spend more gems in game?
the thread with over 1k rants, its all in the archives bro.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/archive/halloween/More-Halloween-Goodies/first
What I find funny is how every update has people complaining about how they openex X hundreds (or thousands sometimes) of boxes not getting the skin they want, swearing gems and RNG boxes for good… and again on the very next update…
I got three words for you…
Battletoads racing levels…
I swear, completing one of those levels in an original NES (without save states of emulators) must be used somewhere as a manhood initiation ceremony
. . . thank you, I was trying to keep repressing Turbo Tunnel from my memory. Now I got to go back to therapy. Are you happy now?
:)
I’ll leave this here (you can thank me later)..

I cant beat her, warrior or guardian… Impossible for me.
Anyway, how much time this event is going to be? There is any possibility of win the mini in the future?
We have no official word about how much it’ll last, but based on previous events, probably a month.
About the mini returning, they said that the queen’s jubilee is meant to be a recurring event like the winterday and halloween ones, so it’ll probably return, but no idea if the mini will.
Hello.
Just now i wake up and have a vision of the futute:
Next Path will bring the ascended craftable recipes including weapons, armor and trinkets, As Altholic whit 8 character already full exotic and semi ascended will be my worst nightmare, Why? 4 of my 8 chars have t3 armors, and i have 0 Xmute stone right now. This will bring chaos to the economy, everyone will be running like crazies buying all the t6 mats the next couple of weeks to sky rocket the prices, Loading screen will be 3 times longer than now, Candies will be crushed, Que in every craft table.
And the worst part is: Liadri will be in the tutorial mission
No jokes, as altholic will be my end, imagine craft 8 ascended armors plus transmute to T3, at lest the ascended come whit some decent skin and no the current exotic end game we have right now.
Well, nobody said you’ll need to do it all RIGHT the instant it comes out… see it as a long term goal in the game. Pick a character, start creating ascended items for that one, get the T-crystals as you get them (they’re about 6g for 5 if you buy the gems with gold), repeat it.
Heck, all content in the game except for high level fractals can be done by a character in rares (depending on the character, I’d say even in greens), I doubt there’ll be content in the future, at least not right away, that you won’t be able to do unless you’re fully ascended.
This is the last thing I’ve known that has been mentioned about guild halls (6 months ago):
As we have said in the past, we do plan to have guild halls one day, but it’s not a feature we’re currently actively working on.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/What-happened-to-Guild-Halls/first#post1228182
They weren’t even mentioned on the second half of 2013 post, so don’t expect them at least until next year.
(edited by locoman.1974)
I think Cuttroath Politics was the most controversial one… at least the moment they announced the winner..
I can take Trahearne.
His boss mechanic is to get every player character in Tyria to fight against you and then take all the credit. It might be a difficult fight.
You know, that would be an interesting fight mechanic to try in this game..
Back in WoW (during the burning crusade expansion), one of my favorite dungeon bosses mind controlled your party, so from time to time you lost control of your characters and they started fighting each other… actually one strategy most people used was for DPS players to change their gear to a lower quality one, because a full glass cannon specced mage could easily kill other characters (specially a healer) during those phases..
I know what you are talking about. Al this new content, I can’t keep up! Its hard, because the content DOESN’T COME BACK! So I miss out on a lot, and that makes me sad. I really reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllly hope they can do something about this, because it is really discouraging for new players
It will come back, at least most of it. They said on a post that several of the living story issues like the Bazaar of the 4 Winds, Super Adventure Box and Queen’s Jubilee will be recurrent events that will come back from time to time, maybe yearly like the halloween and wintersday ones.
My guardian is mostly knights (I’ll have to check again, I got some of the gear from temples but I think it’s using the same gear distribution) with also knights ascended gear, IIRC his crit chance is a bit over 50% with no buffs on.
It would be more than great if you allowed lucky owners of the best shield in game – Guild Defender – to disable guild emblems on it if they wanted to. I just dont like red quaggan on this awesome, shiny piece of equipment I am very proud of
Which is why you should replace with the real best shield in the game, the guild tower shield (hey, it’s also shiny)..
BTW; agree with his sugestion, keep the guild emblem on guild weapons and armors (which are designed for it), keep it optional on the guild defender.. or make it available from guild vendors..
(edited by locoman.1974)
Since the chests I’ve found that I notice how many APs I have (before the update I didn’t even knew), but hasn’t really changed the way I play, I keep doing the as many living world achievements as I’d need for the meta only if I’m interested in the reward or I notice I’m close to finishing them anyway (like it happened to the cuttroath politics one… just finished it because I noticed I just needed 1 more to go).
Rewards are nice, but, I already got most of the zenith weapons I wanted, the radiant skins I already got the one I wanted (the hellfire ones I don’t like), which is the gauntlet, since it only fits my guardian and the pauldrons look waaay to big on him, and the helm, my guardian already has the zephyrice wind one that fits with the gloves and I like how it looks better than the radiant one.
In general my aproach to APs is the same I use with the rest of the game… if I find it fun, I’ll do it, if I don’t, I’ll ignore it. For example, the exploration achievements, I enjoy exploring and going around, but I’m not doing it as a checklist, just if I see an empty piece of map, I’ll go there to see what’s in there, I’ll get it eventually but I won’t grind it, the fashion ones (getting all cultural skins in the game), I’ll just ignore, I’ll get any cultural skins only if I like it, not otherwise and so on.
Guess: Playable Skritt race.
(Just because I’d love that! Nothing to suggest that as even a remote possibility.)
QS = Queen’s Skritt!
I agree it’s unlikely.
Turns out the Skritt kidnapped Queen Jenna and replaced her with a watchwork automaton substitute, programmed to publicly resign and name the Skritt King as her succesor..
If you didn’t loot the chest you get at 2500 APs (don’t understand that part of your message) and it dissapeared, I’d suggest you contact support right away. I know I got at least the 4500 with more than that (I was something like 4495 and earnt 10 APs), and another time I logged off with the chest on the screen without looting and was still there when I relogged, so no idea what happened there.
If you did loot it, it’s working as intended, and your next chest is at 3000. You get chests every 500 points, contents depend on how many APs you have (every 3000 you get an armor skin, for example, every 1000 you get a zenith weapon skin unless you got an armor skin in that chest, and so on)

Shameless promotion of a thread I started…

“We’re going to do a release on the 20th that is intended to be our big anniversary release celebration,” he explained. "That release is intended not only to provide a lot of awesome content for people to experience, but to also set the tone for what they should expect for the living world and the types of things we want to do with events in the year to come.
“It takes the story of the last year and brings it all together. It makes it clear where everything has been going and really closes a lot of open questions that players have had. It’s a story that really affects the entire world and permanently creates content and change for the entire world game-wide, which is really something that’s important to us and we want to showcase that that’s where stuff is headed.
“I think we have some really ambitious plans for next year for what we want to do with the event system, and this kind of showcases a little step of where that can go.”
