Actually it’s rather easy.

Step 1: Open GW2.
Step 2: Turn off game music, lower the volume of the sounds.
Step 3: Raise your speakers/headphone volume to the max.
Step 4: Open an internet browser in the background, play this in loop: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-WHW-QNswE
Step 5: Enjoy..

You seriously acronym Yahweh?

Cue Monty Python ‘Jehovah’ sketch here.

Oops! That was a typo. I meant to say YHWH. It’s the proper Hewbrew to English translation of the Tetragrammaton. We just write it as “Yahweh” to make it easier to use in modern English.

From what I read (might be wrong though, if so I’ll be happy to be corrected), in jewish tradition it’s considered a sin to write the name of god, because it then can mean you allow it to be destroyed by omission if the paper is destroyed or erased, so anytime it was to be written it was written as YHWH, however the proper pronunciation when it was read aloud has been lost as it was never written down, and the two main theories of how it was pronounced are “YaHWeH” and “YeHoWaH” (Jehovah), but for all we know it might have even been something not related to the tetragrammaton letters at all. Some also say that “Yahweh” was the original pronunciation and then Jehovah was created by combining YHWH with the vowels in Adonai (My Lord).

The New Dailies -- Feedback welcome

Like the fact that it’s now 3 dailies, the 10 AP you get from them, and the reward chests (both from the dailies and from the daily login). Dislike 2 of the PVE achievements, though, the boss and events ones.

I’d make two changes to it.

first change the world boss one to give a list of 3 different boss options, spread so that they’re at different times. I usually don’t have that much time to play, and if I log at times when the daily event doesn’t happen I’m kittened, can’t complete it.

Second would be the events one, last night I tried to do it, was in 6 events and only got credit for 1 because there were too many people in a single zone trying to do them, they were either complete before I could get there from the nearest waypoint, or just all mobs were dead before I could get a single hit in. Instead of “events in X map” I’d make it “Events in Kryta”, “Events in Ascalon” and so on.

Livia is still alive as read in one of the books. How is she alive even after 250 years? No one knows yet.

The book in which she appears takes place 100 years (give or take) before the start of GW2. We have no idea what happened to her between GW1 and that the events of that book and we have no idea what happened to her after the events of that book.

How was she still alive, probably have to do with the scepter of orr… personally I have a theory that Anise is actually Livia in disguise… I know that Livia is a necromancer, but she not only was alive during GW1 when dual classing was common, and has had enough time to learn how to use mesmer magic

I personally think that the clouds have a different meaning.

According to GW1 lore, Glint was once known as Glaust, when it was the champion of Kralkatorrik. The forgotten (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Forgotten) discovered a spell to free her from Kralkatorrik’s influence, this was done in what is now known as the “Altar of Glaust” in Arah.

According to the wiki “When the ritual is cast, beams of light break through the unnatural clouds above and through the circular architecture surrounding the altar”… and that’s basically what we saw in the pale tree vision, beams of light breaking trough the clouds… maybe there’s a similar altar nearby and that’s where the clouds come from..

This week GW2 is faces against FF XIV: A Realm Reborn, and winning (as of 10 minutes ago from this post) 54% to 46%.

Also GW1 is against Age of Conan, winning by 56.5 to 43.5

[Speculation] It's all part of Glint's plan?

in Living World

locoman.1974

WARNING: Contains spoilers for the novels and previous releases.

One theory I have about Caithe’s stealing of the egg is that maybe she’s acting on instructions from Glint in the first place. Some things about it:

Glint was able to see the future, she compiled the flameseeker prophecies about the searing and the titans almost 800 years before it happened, so it wouldn’t be farfetched to think she foresaw her own death at the hands of kralkatorrik and all that would happen afterwards. Also she was able to communicate telepathically, so there’s no reason she couldn’t have done it with Caithe when they were getting ready for the fight against her former master.

When the novel Edge of Destiny ends, all former members are back on their respective cities except for Caithe, that remains in the dragonbrand picking up green crystals (crystalized dragon blood), and ends with her thinking that while the others weren’t friends anymore “they would be friends again. Someday, they would join her. Someday, they would fight the dragons again.”… maybe it isn’t her just hoping but actually knowing it because Glint might have told her what would happen in the future.

Glint might have known she might die, but could have manipulated events to give Tyria a fighting chance against the dragons. Maybe she saw that if Logan hadn’t run away, for example, they may have killed kralkatorrik (may) but also the world might have been destroyed by the other 5 dragons. If Logan hadn’t convinced the Charr prisoners to defend ebonhawke, Queen Jennah wouldn’t have realized that it was actually possible for humans and charr to work together against the dragons. Later she is an important factor for the creation of the Vigil, and the mission to recover the Claw of the Khan-Ur from the ruins of Ascalon, which was then presented as a peace offering to the Charr cementing the peace between the races, following to the forming of the pact which was formed from all the races to fight the elder dragons, and that so far has been successful in killing one.

In the current events, if the zephyrite ship hadn’t crashed in Dry Top we wouldn’t have gone there to help, wouldn’t have found Ceara (Scarlet)’s lair and it wouldn’t have led us to the ley lines cave and deep into Mordremoth territory in time, so maybe even that was foreseen or even manipulated into happening. We wouldn’t have gone deep into the silverwastes either if we weren’t following the Master of Peace, so maybe all that was also part of the grand plan (the zephyrites are Glint’s followers, after all). Caithe wasn’t interested in following us until we mentioned the bit about the dragon egg, so maybe she recognized that it was something Glint told her to do as well.

PvE only players cannot complete Monthly.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

locoman.1974

For this month (november):

Monthly Completionist: finish 4 daily achievements, that’s 1/4
Champion Slayer: join the frostgorge train, it should give you daily champions in a few days if only playing for a couple hours a day, 2/4
Skill Points Amasser: between the levels gained doing previous one plus scrolls of knowledge from champion bags should put you very close to getting this. Go around on maps doing skill challenges for the rest, 3/4
And by now you should be very close in monthly succesful events from 2, go to silverwastes and finish it quickly, 4/4

As an alternative, do some low level fractals, or buy stacks of salvagable gear (or craft them) for monthly salvager.

So there you go, full monthly without PvP or jumping at all. Actually I’d say it’s more PvP options where more are needed, a PvP only player couldn’t complete monthly without going to PvE, a PvE only one has more than enough to complete without ever touching PvP.

I don’t remember the CHaracter of OGden being such an kitten as he was in the cutscenes. Bring back Dunkoro!

I guess it’s the effect of living for so long.

I remember reading an article (it was talking about Dr. Manhattan from Watchmen, but applies) that basically talked about how the brain measures time by comparing it with the memories it has, so the longer you have lived, the faster you remember things happening. That is why when you’re a kid, it seems to take forever for your birthday or christmas to come (if you’re 5 years old it takes literally 1/5th of your life to happen), while when you’re older you think “wow, it’s christmas again?… but we just celebrated it so little time ago, where did time go?”.

Developing friendships also need time, how much changes with time as the brain perceives it, which is why a kid can just meet another kid and become very good friends right away, while an adult could take months (or years) after meeting someone and considering a friend. The longer you’ve lived, the harder it is to form meaningful relationships, and for inmortal characters it would mean that someone they might known for months might feel like someone that just barged in to ask you something and left right away. Which is I believe the reason for Ogden’s current personality (he was probably middle aged at GW1, add 250 years to that age)… not to mention that he wasn’t specially happy about the dwarves becoming stone back then.

Should GW2 Implement Gear & skill Grind

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Gear grind: a big no, at least for me.

Skill grind: that is something I’d like to see in GW2. Some of the best memories I have on my (admittedly short) time in GW1 was checking a build I’d like to try, and then seeing that for some of the skills I’d need to get a sigil of capture and go to hunt a mini boss deep inside some jungle, or get to an outpost far away from anywhere I had mapped because the only vendor that carried the skill was there, or even having to farm faction reputation to buy it. I’m one of the very few (or so it seems) that enjoy the new way to acquire skills, and I’d really like to see it taken a step forward to the way it was in GW1.

Guessing Sohothin opened a portal to the Underworld, where Rytlock discovered the gods are very much real after an encounter with Grenth, and has subsequently turned to the worship of said god.

One thing… the Charr never denied that the human gods are real. Charr know that the gods of other races can and in some cases do exist, but they see them as beings of great power, not as being to be worshipped. In the case of the human gods, they do know they exist, but since they have been at war with humans for centuries, they see them as beings to fight and strive to kill.

RNG is RNG.

Just like I’ve read of cases where someone wins the big prize at the lottery twice (which has a 0,0000002% chance to win it in the first place), there are always extremes in every distribution, maybe you putting 900+ rares are in the middle of the curve (no idea), on one end is your friend that got 4 dusks, and on the other end of the curve there might be someone that has put 9000+ rares and no luck. I also once saw a video where someone put a LOT of rares into the MF, nothing for the whole video and 2 precursors in his last two forges. Random is that, random.

BTW, how many rares did he use to get the 4 dusks?… maybe he was incredible lucky to get 4 dusks, or maybe he put like 1000+ rares every day or so.

"Reconnaissance Squad" as a 5 player instance

in Living World

Posted by: locoman.1974

locoman.1974

Personally I believe that now that we can replay living story, all the instances should be soloable, mainly because if they’re not you might end up without being able to continue the story unless you find a group interested in doing it, and while it would probably be very easy to find groups when the update is live and everyone is doing them, imagine someone that just started playing and might want to do them several months from now.

One thing I would agree, though, would be to have a “hard” or “explorable” option like dungeons. For example the Caithe Reconnaisance Squad mission, maybe once you finish it on a character, you unlock the hard version, then you can go into that mission anytime you want with a group, and with encounters, bosses and above all, rewards geared for a full group instance, kinda like a mini dungeon.

The final instance in Glint’s Lair could also be retooled as an unlockable mini dungeon this way, IMHO..

ELI5 : Making a new item

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: locoman.1974

locoman.1974

I don’t have experience in game development, but I do in 3D modelling and animating, here goes my guess (I’m skipping any step that doesn’t deal directly with creating the models):

1.- Create concept art. This is usually done by one concept artist, they’re passed back and forth with the art department until the look is approved.

2.- Concept art is passed to the 3D modeler, who creates the actual 3D model. The textures might be made by the same artist, but it can also be created by a dedicated texturer, who also would create things like bump maps, reflection maps and so on. This step might involve going back and forth with step 1, because sometimes things that look good on paper (or on the screen) don’t look as good when you make the change to 3D, specially when you consider the engine limitations (amount of polygons allowed for each model, resolution of the textures and so on). Also several iterations (minor or major) of each model might be created until the art department approves it. If it’s an armor set, it’s most likely done on a human model, and both male and female versions are made (so twice the amount of time needed). Note that I believe this is where the dye channels are defined by using texture maps.

3.- Adjusting to different races. Once the model is approved (most likely done on a human model), then if it’s armor it’s adjusted for the other races, so that means adjusting the model for basic sylvari male/female, norn male/female, asura male, charr male/female… charr body type is different enough on male and female that I’d say some manual adjustment might be needed on most pieces of armor. That can be as easy as just scaling and resizing a little bit, to completely remodel the piece. Gloves and shoulders are probably the easiest, helm the second easiest (though it would require heavy remodeling to fit on Charr) with chest and leg armor probably hardest ones, which is why I believe when we see single armor pieces they’re usually shoulder – gloves – head.

4.- Rigging. This can be done by the same modeler, but usually it’s someone else that does it. This involve making the models work and deform with the character’s skeletons, which can be very easy when it comes to weapons, and medium to very hard when it comes to armor pieces, because weapons basically just move and swing, while armor needs to deform based on the movements, and ideally you need to take care of the the binding to make it deform properly (so you don’t have a metal plate, for example, bending and stretching like rubber). Usually this is done as the last step before importing because depends heavily on having a finished model, but might also mean that the model might be sent back to previous steps to fix things that might break the rigging.

5.- Importing it into the game. If I had to guess, this is where things like particle effects, glows and physics are added

6.- Testing, testing and more testing. If it’s a weapon model, test it for it to look good with all different character types and animations, if it’s armor, also test to see if it looks good on different extremes of body types, that the rigging doesn’t break while on them, and so on. Note that this might make it go back to any of the previous steps to fix something or even do it again.

7.- Once everything is ready, ensure that the armor has the expected clipping issues with Asura’s ears and Charr tails, add them if they’re absent.. (j/k)

Depending on how many people have working on it, I’m guesstimating few weeks of work for a full armor set. Note that that doesn’t mean it’s all they’re working on, a 3D modeler, for example, is probably be working on something else after sending a model for rigging, and several modelers might be working on several things at the same time.

Somewhat off topic, but similar, I’ve always wondered why they prefer to play whack-a-mole with Arah skips using invisible walls, rather than just making the bosses unskippable, ie. required for rewards.

I guess it’s just easier to put up a wall.

On topic, I’m surprised that they prioritized that over actual bugs. Well, maybe not surprised. Aggravated? Annoyed?

Simple, as you said, it’s much easier. Why was that fixed and not other bugs?… adding an invisible wall is much easier and faster than tracking what specific variable might be triggering another bug, and making sure changing it doesn’t affect other systems or create more bugs, or finding a way to make condition damage stack higher without killing the server. If I had to guess, probably was on their big “to-do” list and a map artist that had an hour or two before heading home saw it as something he could do quickly before calling it a day.

Not sure where to put this as it isn’t really a bug, but it’s related to forums, so here goes.

Sometimes you see threads that might have 10+ pages, and might be something you’re interested in, and see that there’s a red post on the thread… so you have to potentially go trough 10 pages to find what the response was (and it’s a bit annoying when sometimes when you do find it, it ends up being something like “keep this discussion civil” or “merge several threads into this one”).

My suggestion would be that if you click on the red anet logo on the thread title, it would take you directly to the red post, and maybe a link to go to the next red post in the thread. Would make navigation much easier, IMHO.

IIRC the last pieces (chest and legs) were added on the september patch, unlike the other pieces they are different depending on armor weight, and you need a metric ton of AP to get them all. The hellfire armor also has the missing pieces added.

gloves at 3k and 12k AP
shoulders at 6k and 15k AP
helm at 9k and 18k AP
boots at 21k and 24k AP
legs at 27k and 30k AP
chest at 33k and 36k AP

According to the leaderboards, the most AP anyone has in the game for the time being is 25729 AP, so nobody has the legs or chest yet.

The monkey king is the fabled hero in the story: journey to the west. The more well known adaptation in anime form is Goku.

Actually, Son Goku is the japanified version of the monkey king’s original chinese name Sun Wukong, and there are other anime based on journey to the west where the main character is named Son Goku as well. The first part of Dragon Ball (as in, not Z) is very loosely based on the story.

The hallmark channel made a sort of sequel to the monkey king story IIRC set in present time, an american scholar was doing studies on the monkey king story and is transported to an alternate dimension where he meets the characters in the story. There’s also another recent movie (forbidden kingdom) with Jackie Chan and Jet Li that deals with the story (Monkey King was turned to stone, a young guy obsessed with martial arts movies finds his staff and is transported to ancient china where he has to get the staff to restore him).

One of my favorite cartoons as a kid, actually, was basically a sci-fi retelling of the monkey king story, something I didn’t realize until I was much older.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Starzinger

I don’t think 1000 crests is that excessive for a shoulder skin (considering that you’d need 2 at most to unlock all classes)… but if you feel it’s taking too long or too hard, you could always just replay the story on another character, and you’ll get another set of shoulders.

Final fights were overtuned and unenjoyable

I completely disagree that the end bosses were overtuned…

Actually, I have to say for me they were a breath of fresh air, boss fights that relied on interesting mechanics instead of just DPS as fast as you can so you can kill them before they can kill you… and they weren’t hard to figure out at all, they were spelled out for you one at a time and the last fight was basically all of them at the same time.

That whole instance got a big thumbs up from me.

Excelsior

As others (and wikipedia) had said, "Excelsior is a Latin adjective meaning “higher” or “loftier”, used in English as an interjection with a poetic meaning of “ever upward” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Excelsior)

My theory of why the Asura use it is as a nod to Stan Lee.

Stan Lee wrote the “Bullpen Bulletins” (information page on monthly marvel comic issues), and wanted a way to finish them that would be unique so it was not copied by competitors, he saw the New York state seal and saw Excelsior written on it (it’s the official state motto) and started using it, and it became associated with him.

Usually when he’s in conventions and the like anytime he’s interviewed or talks in public, he says goodbye by saying “excelsior”.

Tengu > probably warrior, mainly because of Talon Silverwing in GW1, wielding a sword and a shield (don’t care whether it would be considered viable or not).
Kodan > Hammer guardian
Largos > Mesmer, wearing the most silly looking clothes I could find, dyed in bright neon pink..

Content disappears?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: locoman.1974

locoman.1974

In season 1 of living story was like that, content was temporary, if you didn’t do it when it was available, it was gone.

Starting from season 2 it works differently. Everything that is added in living story is permanent content and here to stay. The instanced pieces that advance the storyline and achievements related to it need to be unlocked (account wide), they’re unlocked if you log in even if it’s for a couple of seconds while it’s live, if you don’t, you can unlock them for 200 gems each release.

Everything added to the open world (which for the time being is dry top and silverwastes) is meant to be permanent and open to everyone, regardless of whether you unlock them or not.

So, no rush, the areas will still be there when you hit 80..

Carapace/Lumi Armor for PvPers?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

As soon as glorious PvP armor is available in PvE then sure.

As soon as PvPers can grind the Carapace armor set by afking in a PvE Hotjoin then sure.

I don’t understand your statement. PvE hotjoin? I’m unsure what this is, as far as i’m aware the only way to get glorious armor is to do PvP of some form.

I’m suggesting that if you want PvE exclusive armor you should have to PvE, just like the PvP exclusive armor requires you to engage in PvP.

And he’s saying PvEers don’t really have to PvP to get rewards when they can just afk in Hotjoin matches. Hot join is considered hardly PvP by those who take PvPing seriously. He’s suggesting he should have a similar form of ‘hotjoin pve’ where he can go afk and get those precious rewards by the same means.

He can… just stand in front of amber and tag a single mob every 5 minutes. You’ll have enough crests to buy the armor in like 3 hours. Much faster than you can afk the PvP armor.

He’d still have to do the PvE part, the shoulder box doesn’t show up on the vendor until you’ve finished the living story release.

Can I level in other race zones?

in Players Helping Players

locoman.1974

Yes, you can level in any area you want. Only thing that limits to your race area is the instanced personal story, other than that you’re free to go wherever you want. You can reach any of the other cities (and their starter areas too) by going back to your main city, take the asura gate to Lion’s Arch and you’ll arrive to a small area with gates to all other cities. Just see the race of the guardians on the ramp to the gate to know which gate goes where (or just read the text on the gate itself when you get closer).

Exotic and Ascended armour textures

locoman.1974

Beauty is on the eye of the beholder, IMHO… and I personally think that an overabundance of particle and glowing effects can take away from the quality of the armor.

That said, there are plenty of options if you want armor with some glow on it. Going for the medium armor which is what your character seems to be using, CoF armor has plenty of fire effects on it, SE armor has a little bit as well. If you don’t mind getting gem store armor, there are the zodiac and flamewalker sets. There are also the radiant and hellfire sets you can get from achievements, and the fused gloves that you can get with laurels if you didn’t get it with the achievements when it was available. Also some pieces of the sylvari cultural armor glow at night using the same color you picked at character creation, but I think none of the medium ones do.

There are also the back pieces that you can use to complement your look, many of which glow. Some of the previous living story backpieces can still be gotten from the trading post (though they’re usually not cheap) like the holographic back wings, sun, lightning and wind catcher skins. Others can be crafted (but it’s not cheap to do so), the chaos of lissa, light of dwayna and shadow of grenth, and there’s also the fired of balthazar that you can get from PvP

Inconsistencies and Dialog Faux Pas

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: locoman.1974

locoman.1974

Not really bugs, but oddities that would be nice to have. I’d like to hear about others that people have come across and I find such things amusing.

One of the biggest ones that stand out for me that makes me snicker every time is when my personal banker tells me things like “Lowest price guaranteed” or “Prices are non-negotiable”. Really? What prices? It’s the bank and it’s all my stuff.

Another one I came across recently was the dialog in Dragon’s Reach p1 where they keep referring to me as the killer of Zhaitan…well, I haven’t finished my PS yet and have never don’t Arah Story….I’ve never killed Zhaitan. How much work would be to check such things and have a slightly forked dialog?

It was a similar thing with the Nightmare Tower and the Seiran nightmare room…well, what if I hadn’t have gotten past that point in the PS yet? Would I have still gotten that room, providing a bit of built in spoiler? I’d bet so. Again, how much work would it be to check player progress and suppress content that doesn’t make sense?

They did say that storywise season 2 happens after personal story, so from that point of view your personal story is done and you’ve already killed Zaithan.

And on the nightmare tower bit, actually the enemy you fight inside the nightmare chambers depended on how far you were in your personal story. Depending on how far you were in your personal story when getting into the nightmare chambers, you’d fight either a member of destiny’s edge of your race, your mentor in your chosen order, or Trehearne. Also some of the prisoners you might have to release were from your personal story depending on the choices you had made.

I doubt the bazaar will come anytime soon, considering that it’s a zephyrites thing and they are at a complete disarray at the moment considering they just lost their ships and their leader, but maybe they get their stuff together at the end of the story arc.

What is a Jobotron

in Players Helping Players

…After that, he went to work as Heal-O-Tron, assisting the medical teams that were helping soldiers fight Scarlet’s forces. This was during the time that Evon Gnashblade was pressed into service as a military supplier as well as the final battle in the now destroyed Lion’s Arch, the war to retake the city. If you see Evon today, he comments on the results of this…

Before the battle he goes to Evon asking him for defensive upgrades for his body, basically he wanted to be able to take lots of punishment, but wasn’t interested in weapons or in any way to fight back. Evon was reluctant at first (wondering how would he pay for them), but eventually agreed.

The final battle with Scarlet took place in 3 simultaneous platforms with 2 NPCs on each one helping res downed players, Heal-o-tron was in one of them.

Dervishes to make a comeback?

in Lore

Posted by: locoman.1974

locoman.1974

The main argument against dervs making a return is that they’d have to make a whole new range of weapon skins, including a legendary.

I don’t see that happening.

Not necessarily. The signature dervish weapon is the scythe, but we already have two staff skins that look like one (the halloween scythe and final rest), and necromancers make a shadowy scythe blade appear over the staves when casting.

A hypothetical GW2 dervish might use a staff as an AoE melee weapon (like it was used in GW1) by having a magic blade appear on the staff as the swing, maybe made of light to make it the opposite to the necro one. Actually one idea I had was that one of the dervish “thing” could be using magic weapons as melee ones by having magic blades appear on them, so a staff becomes a scythe, a scepter could become a sickle, and so on. All they’d need to do would be to create new animations to swing the scepter (though some of the hammer ones might be recycled there).

Dervishes to make a comeback?

in Lore

Posted by: locoman.1974

locoman.1974

I can see sylvari converting to the faith of the human gods. But why would asura, charr, and norn?…

The gods have been mostly absent since Nightfall 250 years ago, game time. So it could be said that the dervishes lost their god-derived powers at that point, and learnt how to channel the essence itself without using the gods as intermediaries.

So, for example, a GW2 version of the dervish would become the avatar of life instead of the avatar of melandru, the avatar of death instead of the avatar of grenth, and so on. That way would make as much sense as having an elementalist charr, for example.

Gem Exchange Fix where?

According to Gaile, they’re doing their best to have it implemented before halloween ends, but no promises:

I saw the test of the new interface today and it looks solid to me. (I also happen to think it’s very attractive, but maybe that’s just me. )

The interface and Custom option move into testing now, and the text is already headed to Localization.

The dev team is keenly aware that there are Halloween items available only during a specific period (through November 4) and therefore they intend to do their darnedest to offer the new options in the next few days but certainly in advance of November 4th if humanly possible. (I have confidence this will happen.)

Bubbles’ name starts with an S

An issue:

Black = Zhaitan

Green = Mordremoth

At least according to the Crucible of Eternity/Infinite Coil Reactor.

The ceiling has the two backwards.

It makes more sense for Zhaitan to be Black anyways, as that means the right side are all dragons that primarily corrupt living beings into minions (Kralk, Zhaitan, Jormag); while the left side are dragons that primarily create minions from elements (water, plant, fire/stone || DSD, Mordremoth, Primordus).

But we can’t expect this location to have seen the Eternal Alchemy, so it’s not strange for a mistake like this.

Bubbles’ name starts with an S

“Sea Dragon”

It could simply be the Priory’s attempt to quantify the existence of a Sea Dragon, without knowing or assigning it a proper name.

Still, a very nice find indeed.

Presuming this is the Priory.

And one would think they would have the name known to them. Or at least part of it. After all, they knew about Mordremoth’s name despite it not being presented to us by the Priory.

To quote myself from the lore forum’s thread on this:

I figured out the name of the Deep Sea Dragon!

Scleritethin.

And “Sclerite” are his minions.

Get it? Because Mordremoth and Mordrem…

I haven’t done it myself (it’s on my “to do” list), but from what I’ve read the way to do it is using a directx ripper (won’t link to one but they’re easy to find) that basically grabs the 3D models and textures from the information the game sends to the video card to render, and outputs on a format that can be opened by 3D animation software like 3D Studio Max or Maya.

Check this reddit thread about it: http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/2jrlzc/3d_printed_pink_quaggan/ , there’s one user there that shows off renders of his characters, you might contact him for some extra info.
