One unfortunate side effect of the single chest per character and guesting is that people are so desperate to get there, they no longer call out events like the Shadow Behemoth on map chat like they used to. If you happen to be there when it spawns, you see the area infested with ‘commanders’ and other obvious lvl 80’s and the thing goes down in a couple of minutes.
When I asked why it hadn’t been called out on chat, I was told that since they had to (chose to) hang around waiting for it to spawn, they couldn’t care less about the rest of the people on the map.
The friendly nature of the game is rapidly dissipating.

It’s worse for rangers…your pet goes haring off after a destructible object or aggroes some random mob because it loves to run away from you all the time and you suddenly find yourself moving at a snails pace.

It’s one whole laurel. Hardly the end of the world.

It did actually give people the opportunity to complete two dailies yesterday. Was a small window of opportunity, admittedly, but it was there. I guess some gain and some lose…bit like real life really…

They’ve gone for the complex harder to design/program option. I’d prefer the KISS principle with these things, just make it stay in the state I left it. There’s absolutely no need to make it collapse/expand when it feels like it.

I have 510MB at 83%…maybe regional differences?
lunawisp was my peacebringer on City of Heroes – she lives on in memory as my gaming id.
Not much you can do about it now but it’s worth remembering that you can dodge through mob’s ground attacks. For instance, bandits sometimes light fires on the ground when they attack, you can dodge over those and get evades. People can’t steal those away from you…not that it’s going t matter any more since we apparently get to choose our dailies from a list now…who’s going to choose dodging?

@ lunawisp.. I am UK at its fluctuating between 10KB/sec and 1MB/sec… but the EU has its own servers surely otherwise I am pretty happy with 1MB/sec if the servers are States side
Hmm, that’s a point. I always assumed that the data was downloaded from the US. If it’s downloaded from individual servers then that would explain why our busy one tends to have slow downloads on patch days.
So..everyone on Desolation please log out now so I can get my download
lunawisp was my peacebringer on City of Heroes – she lives on in memory as my gaming id.
I guess all you people with super-fast download speeds are in the US? Over here in the EU I’m hovering between 0 and 40KB/sec with the occasional mad spurt up to 80KB/sec.
No, i ussually get between 5-10 (running wireless, so it’s not as fast as my actual download speed.) MB download over in europe.
EU connection is actually not as bad as you think, it’s more or less that in the US alot of people are working or at school.
Over here it’s like 22/23/24-.00 ?
So alot of people are downloading at the same time, which resolves in a mad drop, i’m hovering between 600-700kb and occassionally dropping down to 5 kb
I’d agree except…my download started the same time as everybody elses, some of them have finished and I’ve barely reached 8%…
Ok, in the time it took me to type that it shot up to 20% and is now downloading at 300+KB/sec, strange…but welcome.

Be careful what you ask for. We complained about download speeds on ‘other’ games and ended up with Pando Media Booster for our troubles…

Wow. I’ve reached 2%…can’t take the excitement…

I only get if it I rapidly right click on items in the inventory one after the other to sell. If I wait for confirmation of each posting from the TP then click OK in the TP window before posting the next item, that seems to slow it down a bit and I don’t get that error.

I’m sure I must be missing something but why would an air elemental need legs?
lunawisp was my peacebringer on City of Heroes – she lives on in memory as my gaming id.
Thankfully, if you have to restart the download it’ll start from where it left off. You don’t start from scratch again. Download speed is variable from 0KB/sec to a heady 80KB/sec … this could take some time…

8776 files, no idea of the size…doesn’t say. All we can do is wait. Go make a cup of coffee or something. Sitting there watching the progress bar will drive you round the bend.

Nope, no update yet for me either. I’ve just logged in to the game again. Hardly anybody about and the TP is dead in the water but apart from that all looks normal

Quite a few bug fixes there which is very good news. On the other hand, I didn’t see anything about fixing that awful right-click targeting nonsense…
lunawisp was my peacebringer on City of Heroes – she lives on in memory as my gaming id.
He was talking about buy orders in tip 4, not sell orders. But the point about people undercutting your sell orders means that playing the TP is NOT A GUARANTEED PROFIT. You can just as well make a loss by not being able to sell your items even after 2 weeks or more.
Ah yes, reading comprehension error on my part! My excuse is…er…
Anyway. Any sort of trading is risky. The only people guaranteed to win are the ones running the trading platforms. Nice to be able to take a cut from both sides of the trade…
lunawisp was my peacebringer on City of Heroes – she lives on in memory as my gaming id.
The problem with tip number 4 (cancelling your sale and reposting it) is that each time you do this, you end up paying the posting fee again. If you’ve only been undercut by a few coppers on a popular item you may well be better off just leaving it there. You’d have to take a look at the market for that item to decide. Just blindly reposting and paying a fee every time you get undercut is going to get expensive.
lunawisp was my peacebringer on City of Heroes – she lives on in memory as my gaming id.
Lots of people are out ‘in the field’. They can’t be bothered wasting time looking for the best price. They just want to empty their inventory quickly and they just undercut the lowest price by one copper. After a few people have undercut each other, we have a very low price. I don’t think it’s a great big conspiracy…just lots of people in a hurry. Eventually someone with more time will buy all the lower priced items and repost them at a higher price and we start all over again.
lunawisp was my peacebringer on City of Heroes – she lives on in memory as my gaming id.
Put the ones you don’t want back on the TP. At least you’ll get some of your resources back.
lunawisp was my peacebringer on City of Heroes – she lives on in memory as my gaming id.
There is an ingame bug reporting tool. I would think the user inteface issues would be a top priority to fix.
That’s an idea. Maybe we should all report it as a bug ingame since doing so here seems to be a complete waste of time…and effort.
lunawisp was my peacebringer on City of Heroes – she lives on in memory as my gaming id.
Actually this does happen, when mobs move too close to walls and other vertical structures they sometimes become invulnerable. Possibly something to do with LOS issues. Maybe there’s an invisible box or something that the game engine uses which is out of alignment with the scenery, I don’t know. What I do know is that this is becoming a real pain in the neck.
lunawisp was my peacebringer on City of Heroes – she lives on in memory as my gaming id.
The rarity of a dye seems to be in inverse proportion to the likelihood of a large number of people actually wanting it. Why they do this in games is anybody’s guess.
lunawisp was my peacebringer on City of Heroes – she lives on in memory as my gaming id.
Funny thing is my inf counter advanced by ten points yesterday… I’d have expected at least 20 times that but it shows that something’s going on. What that “something” is, is anybody’s guess…
lunawisp was my peacebringer on City of Heroes – she lives on in memory as my gaming id.
I’ve noticed quite a lot of the time mobs step close to walls and the game engine suddenly decides they’re ‘out of bounds’ or something and resets them. Sometimes feels as if the actual boundaries used by the game engine on these walls are some distance away from the visual part that we go on.
lunawisp was my peacebringer on City of Heroes – she lives on in memory as my gaming id.
My luck has been abysmal with these. All the ‘nice’ dyes I have I’ve had to buy anyway so I’ve abandoned the idea of id’ing them and now just dump them on the TP.
lunawisp was my peacebringer on City of Heroes – she lives on in memory as my gaming id.
I have crafted a cunning work-around for your problem. It is called a pen and paper.
The paperless office never did actually come to fruition did it? We probably use more paper now…
lunawisp was my peacebringer on City of Heroes – she lives on in memory as my gaming id.
It’s still a LOT easier for high level characters in low level areas. My lvl 70’ish guardian managed to tank the Champion Troll in Queensdale for ages while the others whittled it down, wasn’t on purpose though – just couldn’t lose the aggro!
Try that on-level without all the skills and traits available to the higher level characters.
The problem I think they were trying to solve is the silliness of most games where level capped players can completely ruin lower level players enjoyment of the game by one-shotting everything in sight. Still happens to some extent but it’s nowhere near as large a problem in GW2 as it is in some games.
lunawisp was my peacebringer on City of Heroes – she lives on in memory as my gaming id.
I’m on Desolation, been getting the same thing so it’s not just one particular server. Someone broke something I think.

“Fast cast ground targeting” in options will also automatically target ground effects on the mouse cursor, as if you’d double-tapped the skill.
With that in mind, can we have an easier to see mouse cursor? It all but vanishes in combat amongst all the fancy affects…

I’d like to see more bugs fixed to be honest…
lunawisp was my peacebringer on City of Heroes – she lives on in memory as my gaming id.
Well, I made an accidental double post then tried to delete the second post and ended up in an infinite loop of being faced with nothing but a blank box for the entire thread. Entering something in an attempt to get the rest of the thread back. Think the forum software needs some work as well…

Well I would expect my guild leader to be a leader and not make simple mistakes such as this, YOUR IN TIME OUT!
But how are we supposed to know that making a change like that has such far reaching results? Good interface design doesn’t allow mistakes like this to occur without, at the very least, asking for confirmation.
lunawisp was my peacebringer on City of Heroes – she lives on in memory as my gaming id.
Something definitely changed in that patch that “didn’t change anything”. I’ve had no influence logged for my guild since that last update. Logged in plenty of times on all my characters and done lots of events. The total inf hasn’t changed at all.
lunawisp was my peacebringer on City of Heroes – she lives on in memory as my gaming id.
Quiet server? Plenty of people on Desolation at ‘normal’ times of the day for the area (EU).
lunawisp was my peacebringer on City of Heroes – she lives on in memory as my gaming id.
This is a common problem throughout the game. The interface really needs a LOT of work, sometimes it seems that the greatest challenge in GW2 is the interface itself. Half the time you have no idea what’s going to happen. That’s fine for puzzles but the interface shouldn’t be a puzzle.
lunawisp was my peacebringer on City of Heroes – she lives on in memory as my gaming id.
Not going to happen. If you put yourself in a PvP area, you’re fair game.
It’d be too easy to exploit. Whole army flagged as PvE walks up to enemy held post completely unmolested. They suddenly reflag for PvP and attack.
lunawisp was my peacebringer on City of Heroes – she lives on in memory as my gaming id.
I don’t use meteor shower. It’s very rarely the effort. Hardly ever hits anything and when it does, the damage is hardly breathtaking.
lunawisp was my peacebringer on City of Heroes – she lives on in memory as my gaming id.
Yep. Sadly this is one of those things most people are only going to find out about when they waste resources making a mistake. It really could be clearer what’s going on with these kits and the Sylvari…
lunawisp was my peacebringer on City of Heroes – she lives on in memory as my gaming id.
This one seems to be intermittent. I think he becomes unresponsive when the trading post is attacked by centaurs or he’s distracted by any other mob dragged in by a player. Maybe happens when he’s killed as Kruhljak said.
I’ve seen Mona stuck as well when she’s run off after a wolf into the river and got stuck on scenery. Also, remember, you need both Mona and her seraph guard alive or the pack bull stops. Sometimes they run off and die miles from the bull.
lunawisp was my peacebringer on City of Heroes – she lives on in memory as my gaming id.
Also..
Necromancer staff sounds are too loud and really really (did I mention really) annoying.
Losing target every time I right click on some random bit of screen and losing the cursor amongst all the flashy effects is equally annoying.
Enough to quit? Not a chance….but still annoying…really.
lunawisp was my peacebringer on City of Heroes – she lives on in memory as my gaming id.
Yep. It’s impossible to keep track of the cursor amongst all the flashy effects. It wouldn’t be quite so bad for me if I didn’t lose my target nearly every time I right clicked to turn around. Frankly, the interface provides more of a challenge than the mobs in most fights.
