Just get a better mouse.
A Logitech G700 for example can have any mouse button defined as any key so you can make any mouse button do anything you like.
I cant understand why people would play a game thats advertised as having no mounts in it , and then keep complaining about theres no mounts in the game.
Why not simply play a game thats got mounts in it?
The Left and right mouse buttons already have defined functions in the game.
Left mouse selects a target and right mouse interacts with a target, same as pressing the F key.
Not sure why you would want to change them.
Multi button mice with ,more than 2 buttons can simply have the extra keys added via control options.
Mice with a large number of buttons will need the buttons defined by a 3rd party program which are usually supplied by the mouse vendor.
All MMOs suffer from inflation as they all have an infinite money supply, and games like GW2 with a gem store that effectively converts real money into in game gold makes it worse.
Money sinks required to take gold out of the economy only work if they are non discressionary, ie cant be avoided, and the only one that I can think of is repair costs, and maybe waypoint costs.
All others are avoidable.
Would be good to know what the real inflation rate is .
Are bots that dont provide any advantage forbidden?
Back in the days when I played Lotro, I made a bot that did nothing apart from running around the main roads and waving at other players, primarily as an intellectual exercise in coding.
Would such a bot be banned in GW2.
I dont even know what a legendary weapon is , and worse still I have no idea why I would need one anyway.
From what Ive read, they seem to be extremely hard to make and take a long time.
Or is it a case of these things exist in the game , so you have to have one because other people do?
Can you be banned for using 3rd party hardware to make a bot?
Would you all feel better if the botters improved their scripts so they didnt look like botters?
Would revive orbs also be banned?
I got a better idea.
When a player is defeated, their character is instantly deleted from their account, and they have to start again from Lv1.
That would really make people more careful about dieing.
No one is forced to use waypoints if they dont want too.
Much in the same way that no one is forced to run dungeons.
A common thread in these forums is
“I dont like something, so it should be removed.”
ie What I want should be forced on everyone else.
I really wonder whether people take MMOs too seriously.
Nothing is real, not the gold the weapons the skins nothing.
When you leave the game you cant take it with you.
Having a gazillion gold means nothing.
No one cares.
You need to compare apples with apples.
Trying to compare WOW expansions with HOT is simply not valid because WOW is a P2P game.
Pick another F2P game that has expansions and compare them to HOT.
Its pointless to compare WOW type expansions with GW2 expansions.
WOW is a P2P game, so the economics are totally differant to a F2P game.
GW2 needs expansions to generate revenue to keep the game going, as the gem store wont even come close.
How many players in GW2 spend $15 a month in the Gem store?
There is a fix to this that allows the drop rate of “valuable” stuff to increase without causing inflation in the game, and thats simply to implement loot wear.
eg if you get a super dooper weapon from a drop, then as you use it in battle , its stats slowly fall, and each time you get it repaired the repair costs go up exponentially.
After a while, the weapon becomes so expensive to keep repairing, that you will have to get a new one.
Same with armour and all other stuff thats deemed to be “valuable”, whatever that means.
It doesnt bother me , but it does mean that if you have HOT and have the glider mastery, then you are disadvantaged compared to players who dont have HOT and also do jumping puzzles.
Keybinds and their functions should be the same for all players.
Just allow the glider function to be bound to another key, if you have probs with the spacebar.
Id like a GPS receiver and a telescope.
GPS receiver to give me x,y,z coords of where I am , and allow me to know how far it is to somewhere else, including another player who also has a GPS.
Telescope so I can see further than the maximum LOD.
Try a repair on the game install.

Id buy more gimmicky gadgets if they sold them.
Already thought of a few.
1/ Portable Waypoint, consumable, allows you to place a portable waypoint on the map which lasts for a hour.
2 types Personal , only works for you or chars on your acct, or open, works for anyone.
Chance of the waypoint failing when used and it kills the user and explodes.
2/ Waypoint Uncontester, Consumable which allows you to turn an contested waypoint into an uncontested one.
You have to be physically located at the contested waypoint to use the device.
3/ GPS receiver. Displays your location in X,Y and Z coords.
Coords can be linked into chat and other players who also have one will then be able to see your location on the map, and will also see your distance and direction.
4/ Telescope. (this depends a bit on whether the graphic engine can handle it).
Allows you to see things far away, beyond max LOS.
Cool if you are standing on a high vista or hi mountain and want to watch things you cant normally see.
5/ Alert Golem, 10 uses then it explodes and you need a new one.
Provides an alert by way of playing a wav file on your computer when a defined event happens.
eg Someone tries to chat to you, tries to rez you , invites you to a group, or somehow tries to atrract your attention .
This is for players like me who leave the game running all the time , but arnt actually always in front of the computer.
There are heaps of gadgets that could be sold in the store that dont actually affect the game play, but which would be cool to have.
Thanks everyone, was the Undermarket , very hard to see.
Has anyone succsessfully done this recently?
I cant find the last POI.
The old Lions Arch had the same problem, but you could find the missing POI in the sewers, but the new Lions Arch seems to have no sewers.
tnx
Most game expansions fall in price over time , and any future expansion will also include in it HOT, so just wait a while and the price will eventually drop.
Whats meant by underperforming?
MMOs dont have any rules which states how players have to play.
Who would decide that someone was underperforming, and on what basis.
I havnt got the foggiest idea what my DPS is, nor do I care, nor is it anyone elses business.
I quit raiding when I left WOW, simply because its not fun.
Main reason is you cant take breaks, and most raids seem to take hours.
Sitting at a computer for hours on end mashing buttons is not fun.
I far prefer jumping puzzles than raids, because you can stop at any time you like and do something else if the puzzle is stumping you.
Anyone know what happens if 2 Mesmers place 2 entry portals on top of each other with the exit portals in differant places.
Where do you go if you hit F on the entry portals?
The good thing about the Store in this game is that theres nothing in the Store that actually have to buy to play the game.
All the items are simply conveniance items, which means they are all optional.
I spend a fortune on revive orbs for no reason other than they save time, and to quote an old phrase from the Goblins in WOW when I player it, Time is Money.
If a gizmo from the Store saves me time , Ill buy it.
Its not a good test.
Too many either / or questions with no 3rd option which is none of these.
This forces people to give wrong answers to the questions.
I tend to sympathise with the OP on this one.
The camera in this game has severe problems when in a closed or obstructed environment if you have a Charr or Norn character in finding obscured entrances.
A compromise solution would be something like a message which appears and says something like hidden entrance somewhere around here.
I bought one , just for revive orbs as I die a lot in places where there arnt many other players to res me.
I look at the price on the basis that this game has no monthly sub so Im saving around $15 a month which I can then use to buy stuff from the store.
Forever increasing weapon stats forces the Devs to then keep raising the level caps, and that then leads to making new zones to suit the higher level caps, and you end up with something like WOW.
Thats the last thing this game needs.
Waypoint fees are a very good way of extracting a lot of money out of the economy on a continuous basis, as lots of players use waypoints on a daily basis, but most players dont notice the fee.
You have to have something in place like this to combat inflation which exists in every MMO, and lots of very small fees are much more player friendly that lesser large fees.
Thanks everyone.
The shared Inventory slot idea worked.
Will save me several hours of mega frustration.
Im not at all interested in DPS meters, but a simple chat log would be useful so that you can get your PC to ring a bell or make a noise if someone sends you a whisper or says something.
I leave my PC on in GW2 when Im expecting some of my friends to log in , but Im not sitting in front of it all the time.
OK, thanks.
Will those methods work on a dead character?
Thanks.
Unfortunately the char who needs the revive orb is dead, and located in an awful place, the dark reverie jumping puzzle.
Anyone whos done this puzzle will know the problem Ive got.
Anyone know if this is possible?
When I try to mail the orb, the mailer simply wont accept it.
Im sending it to another char on the same account , and the Orb says its account wide, so any char on the account should able to use it.
Ive never understood what pay to win means in an MMO.
What is it you are winning?
MMOs have no winners , ever.
As for HOT, no one is forced to buy it , like most other things in life.
If you think its too expensive then DONT BUY IT.
Its not rocket science.
The phrase challenging content is a problem.
Challenging for some players = impossible for other players.
You cant put anything in the open world maps thats challenging for some but impossible for others, as then some players simply wont be able to get map completion.
MMOs have to cater for all standards of skill and game play, not just players with top end gear and 1000s of hours of game playing time.
Id actually like to see a bit more economic reality added so the next time you try and sell your junk to a random NPC you get this message.
Sorry, Ive already bought enough junk items this week so dont need any more atm.
Come back in a week, or you can leave your junk here for free.
Or lets have some competition amongst NPCs in buying junk.
Ill give you xxx gold for your junk, but if you go and see my competitor on the other side of the world in the depths of Dragons Stand , he will give you 2X xxx for the same junk, but only for the next 24 hours.
PS I also hear that my competitor is rumoured to be selling some limited supply hi end exotic gear, but only for the next hour.
More fun economics adds another dimension to these types of games.
Ever wondered where all the NPCs in this game who buy your junk items get the money from?
I just don’t understand these types of threads.
If gw2 isn’t a great game then why do you play it.
Why not play a great game instead.
Theres no solution to this problem because of the definition of challenging content.
Challenging content basically = Content that I can beat but you cant.
Content that everyone can beat = Too easy and content that no one can beat = Too hard.
Unless things have changed, when most of the larger scale events in HOT are on , all bar one of the WPs are contested, so you to run for ages to get back to where you were when you died, and if you take too long or die on the way, you get booted for not participating enough.
There isnt much complaining.
Forums are like complaint magnets, which attract complainers.
But look at the actual number of people who are posting on the forums compared to the total player base, and the number of complaints is insignificant.
The only threads on forums which do need to be addressed are those relating to technical issues with the game such as people who cant get the game to play properly for some reason.
I find this thread very hard to understand.
I bought HOT and I must confess I didnt like it much.
Basically too hard to find your way around , so I simply went back to playing in the world that existed prior to HOT.
HOT is an expansion, it doesnt change the original game , so if you dont like HOT why does this make the original game not playable.
I used to play WOW which had many expansions.
Some I liked and some I didnt, but I never left the game because of an expansion I didnt like.
I did leave it finally because it consumed too much time , expansions not withstanding.
What do you mean by a drop chance of less than 5%?
RNG has no memory.
You could do an event 1000 times and get no drop and the next 50 players who have only done the event once all get a drop.
Still drop rate is 5%.
Hardly fair though.
RNGs arnt fair, but they are what players want, indirectly.
The alternative to an RNG is not to have one.
This then means that if a group of players contribute to doing something that yields a very good reward, they should all get the reward.
This is fair , but players dont want this because it causes gear inflation in the game, ie suddenly everyone has the best stuff because its being handed out to quickly.
Its a bit like the real world.
Is it fair that everyone in the world isnt equally rich?
Players are indirectly elitist, ie getting good gear is only sensible if everyone else in the game doesnt also have the same gear.
This isnt what anyone wants to hear, but by simple definition the best MMO is the one that has the most players, and makes the most money for its creator.
You can guess which one that is.
If you read the GW2 forums, then 90%+ of all the posts are complaints about something in the game.
This is also true of the forums for every MMO there is.
So the only conclusion is that no , GW2 isnt the best MMO because there are no good or best MMOs.
The other way to look at it, is that if there was a best MMO, woudlnt everyone be playing it ?
Theres a differance between a free market and a fair market.
The TP doesnt guarantee that items will be sold for a fair price as anyone can list items for ridiculously high prices, and provided that no one else is selling that item then its available to buy for the stupid price.
One of the arguments against player to player trading is that people could get ripped off by buying items which are overpriced.
The TP doesnt prevent this.
It also worth asking under what circumstances would players prefer a player to player trade over buying from the TP. (assuming the tax for both was the same).
In the time I played WOW which has player to player trading, most p2p trades were in circumstances where the items that were wanted wernt being sold on the WOW auction house at all, and such players knew extremely well what the prices for such items should be.
So the argument that p2p trades enabled scamming just didnt happen.
