I cant rememb what that is but u can buy most components or crafting recipes from the big norn with nevermore vendor, stuff that u already have unlocked as u progress. If it is expensive remaking it, try send a support ticket. But from now on, always read the item text when it comes to legendaries, i never dropped any of my items as most were needed.

That looks interesting, especially for wvw roaming, i wonder if such small gains will have a gr8 impact on our vamp signet, could sacrifice some vit for healing

I can’t believe that patch didn’t consider a reduction of the ridicolous high amount of hp and shorud hp a necro has. Conditions are naturally eaten easily as well. This slowly starts to get on my nerves.
That is because Ethan you have a Light Heart

OP the class u want is ranger. It has the passive speed boost through a signet as utility slot, while u can have a pet by ur side to take agro or kill mobs if u afk. U can also get around by leaping with greatsword #3.
If u were just going for speed id take theif with a shortbow and teleport on utility.

To be honest i have a very little sense of open world feel in this game as there are portals leading to each small zone, but thats just me. The open world can be frustrating too as in HoT zones u are not safe to be in an active map, many times to get the full benefit and progression one has to use the lfg to port to another instance, or zone if u like.

There r strong pve builds for rangers, be it condi or power. What it comes down to is how u feel about and like their individual playstyles and themes, that is what u should try out as metas/viability changes over time (if ur into that sort of thang). From a fun and QoL perspective ive always favored the ranger for its 1500 range with arcs that can add another 100 200 range, with ur pet to get in and draw agro.

We just had a major patch release, what more do you want?! Go do some fractals or the retweaked shatterer. Wait and see in three months.
So that would mean we have to wait 6 months for 3 new legendaries.
With the amount of missing legendaries this means we have to wait more than 2 years for the full set of new legendaries. I think this is waaaay too much time.
Same way we have to wait for a year to finish legendary armor, nearly a year for a wvw update, and while inbetween we’ll have events that have been done yearly like the lunar one, and retweaked existing content and minor fixes wrapped in and presented as big content packs.

If you mindlessly run to the middle of a teamfight, you die. If you try to rezz someone under focusfire, you die. If you facetank an enemy, you die.
If you position yourself correctly, you dont die. If you manage your cds correctly, you dont die. If you do the focus right, you can force the enemy team to play deffensively, and so you dont die.If the enemy team double caps, you can still win. If you double cap, you can still lose. If a tanky build holds a node, you can quickly win the node in a 2v1. You cannot facetank a 2v1. There are some underperforming classes atm, true, but do you remember at the start of HOT how DH were considered OP and condi revs trash? Its a little to soon to determine if some builds are really that strong or that weak.
Anyway, since patch Im enjoying fast matches were if I play correctly I wreck the enemy, and if I missplay I get wrecked. Dunno what is ppl complaining about :/
What invaluable insight!
Now tell me, which do you play, necro or thief?
What he says is true though, at least to an extent, and for many such insight isnt clear.

Regarding the traditional DH, it has potentially alot of defensives that they can rotate which will in most cases outlast your life force and utilities. If your starting life force is at 0 it is an even more uphill battle, also if you dont have anything to line of sight. One way to outlast their rotations is to avoid their setups, such as the hook into traps, and for instance a timed reaper #2 into their LB #2, and pay attention to aegis so you dont burn a good ability. Personally I see signet corrupt reaper or curses reaper (the curses cloud utility for 8 sec ranged immunity) as viable options, but in all honesty it can go both ways. However, if we are strictly speaking about WvW then full Dire set should win you the match? At least combined with full life force.
As @mazut said, core necro can have it easier as you are not forced to facetank, though again this is my perspective in SPvP, and going core necro would in some other instances make it harder vs other builds.
As for droods, it depends on their weaponset and utilities. You need to ask yourself what abilities kills you. If it is the cc you need to find ways to avoid that. Druid also has the potential to outlast you, so be aggressive and stay Ahead, chain your fear into warhorn 5 while condis ticks n boons are corrupted. Once again, signet corrupt reaper is gold, and if you’re in full dire it should be easier. On my reaper in WvW i go with a mix of high condi, power, tough, vit, crit, where main dmg is from condi.

One thing is the unbalanced mess, but why are we stuck with conquest? we should get more modes so that our enjoyment isnt purely based on balance, but also from playing new content and not the same stuff all over. And add dueling cages already in heart of the dead

Because eles needs to be in the gutter apparently.
In more honesty, it seemes it’s “only” the condi signet corrupt reaper that can counter an ele now. Ive done a few 1v1s vs good fresh air eles and they can beat most other reaper types, esp if ur starting lf is low. Havent tried as power reap though.

There were plenty of counters to the chrono bunker – I as a mesmer and other classes that ive played have found no issue going against one, you just adjust or learn how to play. A lot of the other bunker builds were considered OP as well which initiated the removal of some of the runes and amulets. I just think they nerfed the mesmer class a little too hard considering a few of the other classes like druid and scrapper for example were just as OP. Better adjustments could have been made.
Chrono bunkers were OP, it was no denying it. Now this comes as a subjective opinion, but figthing a good chronobunker was a living nightmare with evade/immunity frames, either portal or well elite, with quickness res. I get it that it sucks losing out on the class being nerfed, but at least that playstyle and dominion was just not healthy for the game.

the people who made the game understood that builds had to give up something to make the game skill based with counterplay. When they merged all the traits they just let everyone have everything. The result is a game based on spam and rotations basically. It took all the skill out of it, and that was a while ago now. I basically quit a few days after that patch. It was so stupid. Such a huge power creep.
Would an fps be fun if everyone carried round nukes and everyone also had made body armour? Nope. It would be balanced, sure. But its not good design. Look at gw2 now. Everyone has perms boons. Perma condis. Perma condi clear. Perma 6k attacks. Perma healing. There are traits which are a whole build in one trait. There was a reason alot of these traits were spread out before. If you wanted to run signets there were a few traits to take. Meditations on guardian meant a few traits. That meant builds were more focussed on a role and had weaknesses which could be exploited with skilled play.
Look at some of the traits now. They are insane . They are about 4 traits combined. This is madness. That is why the game is dead. People play pvp for pve rewards. That is all.
There are about 20 dudes probably not talented enough to suceed at real esports games who will exploit the fact anet is giving away a bit of money for their dead game. There is no skill i this game. Its all based on comp, has been for 18 montns. And on spamking rotations on a point.
Its dead. The trait merge patch ensured of that. Power creep killed it
This is definitely a very good post. It’s exactly how I feel about the game.

I just find it unfathomable that the same company that made this AMAZING combat system (basically the best action combat out of all MMOs, by far) and really innovative class concepts (ele is a rather avatar-y take on the typical mage, mesmer is really unique, guardian a unique take on the paladin archetype, etc.) fails so hilariously again and again at providing BASIC pvp needs like multiple builds per class, reasonable balancing (5 class changes per quarter year is unacceptable) or even just a basic league system.
Not to mention solo queue or even just the basic mechanic of actually being allowed to play the game while waiting for a tournament queue pop, instead of having to idle in some god forsaken place.
Yup, it is unthinkable. I just wonder if the devs are aware of this, is this a result of upper management or is it really the devs themselves not able to see this?

I wish we should get some more new content, not retweak of existing systems, systems that wasnt done properly when implemented and then relaunched as content or ‘depth’ as anet call it. This is quite frustrating to see, and it feels like anet is selling small things as big things, and in the end we are forced to play the same content over and over. Just like fractals, pvp conquest.
During the balance preview stream it was said to be a sneak peak, and then it turned out to actually be the balance patch, more or less. WvW changes are basically reverted changes from the past, resources are being wrongly used, it seemes like anet has a totally different vision of how WvW should be and how they think what the players wants, which is then the opposite. And now theres supposedly a big WvW patch comming at the end of this year, and the history lesson tells me that much of these resources couldve been avoided if voices were heard earlier on. And now we have to wait another year. And another year from now till raids are fully out for our legendary armor. Meanwhile we are often left in the dark. If gw2 wasnt so pretty with great combat then it wouldnt be so easy to get away with this.
I used to be a power ranger, now not sure anymore

Shout longbow ranger still lacks condi cleanse though, and even if they were druid theyd have to invest in glyphs and condi removal on AF, making once again shout less used except heal and the elite. It would still fill a niche role, which the longbow ranger always have been, but yes more viable now if reflects are less present.

This is how stuff is done, creating content takes longer time cuz of cost efficiencies. Thats why alot of the systems we have in gw2 is made for mass replayability.

Skilled thieves will kill you, all you can is prolong the fight, and dont mash your CDs into their evade frames. If you are able to pressure inbetween evade/range frames then thief will be forced to withdraw in and out during the fight. If you start the fight with 0 life force then it’s even more worse.

Why is it that Thieves get a buff that only really helps them 1v1, the concept of team play suddenly disappears from everyone’s perception of spvp balance? We still don’t bring anything on par with other professions in terms of team utility.
My theory is because the people who complain the loudest are the ones that only truly care about being able to 1v1 everyone else, not actually caring about the strategy of team oriented play…
Because your team utility is being able to move around, stomp, +1 and now you are better at 1v1 those sidepts. Dont see a problem here, and god theif is godmode to have. But cant have it all.
I used to be a power ranger, now not sure anymore
Good thing anet balances around group play and not 1v1 as reapers are and should be focused during group fights. Hitting them during shroud reduces their ‘health pool’ and prevents prolonged condi reapplication which would otherwise win said group fight. Reapers are still punching bags, and shroud as a defensive escape is subpar compared to other mechanics said class lack as drawback such as vigor, evade, block, immunity.

The price is fine, if u compare this item to previous similiar items, like lodestones each costing up to 3g at times. They need to keep the supply like that to even out the legendary cost. Nothing has changed.
I used to be a power ranger, now not sure anymore
No, but i think necro got more alternative traitlines/playstyles with booncorrupt, making booncorrupt more part of the necro theme. I also think scepter aa corrupt is a bit situational as u usually have other stuff to cast, and aaing may not be ideal when focused.

A message from the PvP Team:
Congratulations to every one of the legends of PvP Season 1
Everyone? what even the exploiters? no
Truth be it couldnt be an exploit when Anet designed the system that way, allowing for such behavior to be done, because #!&@ it, we’ll do it live!. Had they done it right in the slightest they wouldn’t have a title for this test season, but noooo, moneys talk.

Soloq is unfair, ranked will never be truly competitve and rng for the solo player. The worst part is that Anet cherrypicks feedback and dodge this question, all we want is then acknowledge the problem. We have been at a stalemate for over three years, we’ve been patient, why not treat us properly by communicating more accurately.
I can understand if soloq is impossible to implement at this stage, but we need a system preventing/lowering pip loss vs premade, as with afkers.
Elite specs are overpowered, to much powercreep that nerfing amu’s wont solve. I miss the old meta around june 2015 where u had more options in roles/builds. Old core specs needs to be on par.
It felt more fluid/more fun/less rng to get to legendary as a soloq starting from 2 weeks in from season start till early january. Idk why.
Leagues makes us care more about win losses, though i hope to see more pvp types instead of just stronghold. Add dueling cages to hotm or let us queue outside, was boring waiting there for matches.
Chronobunker made pvp a horrible experience.

(edited by nacario.9417)
People are sick and tired of having to do the same kitten maps over and over. Its with rest of the game, a trend Anet does now, to retweak existing systems based on previous poor performance, only to not make it nec better, yet call it content updates. Same thing you see in pvp, wvw, world bosses and so forth. People are too gullible that they accept it, but Anet gets away with it as gw2 is pretty and has good combat.
Fractals are old, the rate we get content is slow, I just want to finish my champ chest daily asap for my alt. I couldve skipped doing fracs but since raids will take most likely another year to finish, i need some asc to fill the gap.
I used to be a power ranger, now not sure anymore
So, to summarize, raids are hard, and PUGS have a prefered meta composition.
The PUG meta you can’t get around. If content has a relatively high challenge (and thus fail rate) there will always be a perceived “best party” regardless of whether or not it’s actually necessary. This is because people that PUG such content want to have a familiar experience each time, which means filling the party slots with largely the same characters so that each individual has roughly the same job even though they’re always with different groups.
Some classes could use a bump in viability, but even if they were all perfectly balanced in such a manner that you could randomly assemble any number of classes, there would still be one and only one PUG meta for this reason.
The difficulty is working as intended.
GW2 raiding isn’t about gear acquisition so you can eventually just faceroll through it. It’s supposed to be hard. It’s supposed to stay hard a year, or three years from now. The fact that most people don’t already have it on farm indicates its working as intended. It’s a small part of the game crated for the part of the player base that wants really hard content that they can’t just finish easily no matter how many times they do it. It’s literally the point of raiding that you have a hard time completing bosses. That’s what makes the loot valuable and the experience worthwhile.
Please stop saying raids are hard. The fact that you don’t need the best gear, the best classes, hell, for the first boss even 5 people can kill it(watch the vids), the lack of hard mechanics(1-2 wipe mechanics per boss? really? try 15, then call raids hard ffs) prove that raids aren’t hard at all. Raids are hard for the unskilled, they are average for the average player, and they are a total faceroll for the pro players.
Which make them average difficulty. Which is sad, because “elite” content should be designed around the “elite” players, not around your average casual.
You are young in your words, time and age will teach you propper insight. Raids are hard, when they came out they were were much harder as people had to learn the tactics, and still is hard for those who are new at it and how to use their classes. Catering raids to the elite is wrong as it locks out a large amount of playerbase, while I feel their difficulty is just right atm, not reachable for those who arnt willing to learn and adapt. I also believe raids are different in GW2 in a sense that the best gear will always be ascended/legendary, so it’s a longterm goal “casuals” can work towards to step up their game and get reachable skill to those who already beat it.
Raids are hard, but also more open. My only gripe with it is that theyre released so slow.
I used to be a power ranger, now not sure anymore
Im fine with the expansion as a Whole, though I do hope they do something different with the next.
Im quite bummed about the hype of new legendaries, and we only get 3, and we still dont know when we only get another 3. Legendary armor is like another year down the road. PvP has been a stalemate, Leagues are a coverup, why not implement new types of PvP, WvW is also a big letdown as Anet seemes to have a 180 vision of what the WvW playerbase wants. From here on we basically get retweaked existing systems as things were rushed and not done properly in the past.

I’m leveling my first character (chose Necromancer because I think Humans have better racial gear for an Elementalist) I intend to mostly solo for now (will probably go Reaper at 80, question is how do I get there?)
So I’ve been looking at Necromancer skills. Now, weird thing about me is I don’t actually micromanage skills very well (I’m very thankful Guild Wars 2 only has… 10 buttons plus specials I need to look at, I don’t enjoy MMOs that have like 4 hotbars minimum requirement) since I’m soloing anyway, I figured I should get Minions.
The question is, what are the best to summon? I plan on keeping Signet of the Locust to speed up leveling by virtue of getting where I need to go faster, but what about other slots? Should I use Signet of Vampirism or use a Blood Fiend? is Blood Wurm worth the hassle of moving? what other two Minions should I get?
I’d appreciate any advice or help, thanks!
The only times minion master is great is when soloing HoT champ Hero pts bosses, other than that id go with anything else. When u unlock reaper, the shouts are quite powerful as theyre quick, effective and cover aoe ground.

Why dont you make your DPS/CC warrior switch to phalanx? Or 1 of your 3 necros swap to a phalanx warrior. Then you have more flexibility in finding a 10th person.
But if you are struggling now on VG. Then you are all going to have to be more open to changing your builds and composition if you want to beat Gorseval and so on in the future. Raids arent something you can just play whatever you like and expect to win.
Good luck anyway.
Actually they can beat the bosses in whatever setup. What OP is describing tells me that his real challange is that his raidmembers may not be properly geared, dont do proper rotation, and possibly eat to much damage/can connect better. But thats okay.

This thread is so stupid.
If you actually did do research on ranger the class not ranger the official forum you would have noticed that hat only 2 pets are being complained about and that the 43 other pets rangers have are almost not being used at all in high end pvp.
This fact alone shout tell you about how bad and poorly made the ranger pets are (the ranger class mechanic), because only the 2 pets are able to reliably pressure a moving enemy and because of that they draw forum qq.
All pets should be able to do this like the smokescale and bristilback can and land attacks regardless if the target is standing still or running.
Therefore your statement that all ranger pets need a nerf is not based on actual meaningful analysis, and the only thing that needs a nerf is bristilback’s auto attacks (the are homing) and their skills 3 (that can instagib if you stand on top of it when he casts). Also op gathering forum data is so stupid because ppl usually post on here when they have negative things to say, when everything is aok no one voices their opinion. Take a look at the thief forums, even when the thief was nerfed and no longer op (aka more or less balanced) ppl here were still crying for nerfs because the class takes some thought to counter (rotation and map awareness and knowledge about the class itself), but some refused to do that and just qq more so the thief got more nerfs.
Same situation with the 2 ranger pets (minus the bristilback nerfs i listed) ppl actually need to learn how to counterplay thees 2 pets because they can hit you even while you are moving, which the other pets cannot.
Aaand here comes the guy who didnt understand the joke. I was waiting for that someone.
I used to be a power ranger, now not sure anymore
Raids are hard in a sense that u need 10 good ppl. Once u got that all u need is to set up a time every week where u do em, a decent run shouldnt take more than 2 hrs, ive been doing that for weeks and it feels casual to me, and thats how it should be once u nail it all down.
Raids feels harder if u dont have this privelige, so i understand why many feels frustrated and left out. However they can do something about it, its just a new type of challenge they havent overcome before.No. You don’t need 10 good people. You need 10 people that can follow basic instructions and be in exotic gear. 10 good people is overkill
Its not just about basic instructions, things are heated during battle, several things happens at once and people need to sometimes multitask. If u consider the average gw2 player then yes the standard is ‘good’. The raids are easy for me as i consider myself a good player, but i am also priveliged as i have 9 other good people with me. Basic instructions, but being able to implement that into real play with variables is something more.
If one cant see beyond that then one should broaden their perspective.
