I do agree on this topic, but:

-Warrior need to trait for it, and so:

if you take a look at other classes they can trait also to gain boons or something while swapping attunement or swapping kits on engi.. Its maby not the total same thing. But it gets close..

The problem is that ele does not gain cd reduction from the trait that gives the boons while warriors would gain both from 1 trait if this goes live. Engie also gets no cd reduction but that is a moot point because kits have no cd.

But you can swap every 5sec if you want. So you can get extra bonus boons every 5sec (not talking about sigil now)

I dont talk this right or something, just saying and yeah engi kit swap… They already get so much benefit from traits with this also.

Oow here comes the anti warrior post below me, prepare for it.. They QQ about anything from warr.. From weapons to trait to health etc etc etc.. And even now about leap/landscape.. It will never end.

But yeah i agree with you. Since warriors becomes viable in pvp etc they started to nerf every weapon we get.. And i say EVERY WEAPON! All with long casttimes and animations or damage remove etc etc.

About pin down, why not first from 1/4 to 1/2 with some animation? Why go from so low to extreme 3/4 + another epic animation..

Soon warriors will stomp the ground 3x for every burst/semi burst skills, so you see, hear And you can feel it coming! The 1/4 sec was indeed to low.. But the way Anet is going for every warr weapon is just bad

This topic is so bad.

Little time ago there was a MESMER in wvw.
He kept holding our waypoints contested.
So i hop on warr and equip gs/sword.
So i run after this guy… With 30 other people!!
You know what? We couldnt get him!!

And you what? He didnt even have to use leap skills..

Teleport/stealth can do the same.

Necro can create a gap also > fear.

So if you nerf leap. Nerf all teleports etc also!

I would love to see mesmers teleporting at me all the time..

No. Eles swap to a different attunement but still use the SAME WEAPON set whilst Warriors (and other classes aside from engi) swap to a different weapon set. In short, eles use the same sigils when swapping while warriors use another set of sigils when swapping.

Ah yeah thats right indeed.
Well lets wait first.. What i am thinking.. Fire/air thats a nice 2k on hit already bought some sigils! cant wait!

Mixed gear suffers also more compared to full zerker..

Its like
10% lost for full zerker.
15% lost for mixed (like knight/zerker)
20% IF not more for celestial.

but thats all if they let ferocity becomes a % crit damage..

not sure yet how they are going to do it.

Hello cynz, i dont agree with you statement about warrior longbow, but ofc thats your and my opion. We post it to share with anet and its up to anet what they do with it.

Also your compairing it with thief, what i dont get is why? Because this is about longbow warrior. And i totally agree with you about thief shortbow. There are topics about that also and i have posted it also about thief AA. But this is about warrior longbow.
and the post above is a solid reply there are more things that need to be fix first. And ofc the thief shortbow is one of them. But that doesnt say warrior longbow AA shouldnt be on the list.. Ofc not high in the list, but atleast somewhere on the list.

And its not only the damage.. Even if they reduced its damage but make it a shorter casttime i would be happy also. BEcause its bad that you wont use AA because it holds back your other skills. if i use aa now and want a fast blind, i have to wait for 1,3 sec first because the AA is still busy. thats the main problem indeed, see post from eiland. He explained it very well.

With a lot of empathy I could understand that the warrior LB isn’t at the best spot right now.
But ALL other classes are worse in PvE. Help fix ranger first, then you can start complaining again.

That sounds fair indeed, but kitten it takes years for anet to do this.

but i agree with your statement, there are more/better things to fix first indeed. But not sharing this is also not knowing for anet :p

sorry, but no, you are just trying to make warriors more op than it already is. Warriors lb pin down give 6 stacks of bleed and immobolize, use that with aa. If anet buffed aa’s speed it would make it way too powerful, lb has blind, immobolize, high dmg with aa, burning, making it one of the best weapons in the game, so stop complaining.

Whats high damage on AA? At most you crit both for around 700-750.. So you do a 1400-1500 hit.
If both hit and crit, but thats on 1,25-1,30 sec..

So thats a 700 damage every 0,65 sec…
now i would not compare this to a melee weapon where i hit 2k or more every 0,5sec.. But compare this to other ranged AA skills, and you see they can do almost the same damage (from both arrows) in just 0,5 or 0,75sec. Where it is between 1,25-1,30 for longbow warr AA.

This skill does lack damage if you count its casttime with it. Damage is good if its a real 0,75sec.

So no i dont need to stop posting this to share it with Anet, about thief aa on shortbow, there was a topic about that skill also. And i also mentioned this skill in a prev topic.

I’ve played a lot of MMOs and never before have I seen one with as much blatant class bias as Guild Wars 2. Why on earth does the most heavily armored class in the game also offer superior mobility? It’s time to get serious about class roles and stop bullkittenting your community with balance patches that do nothing but unbalance the game further.

Armor doesnt say anything… its warrior!! They are never slow (except every weapon skill..)

Remove the idea of heavy armor cant run..
Because stealth issnt real also did you know?

So with that out of your mind. Think about what every class can do to engage anf dis-engage.. And you see all classes have ways to do that (doesnt have to be a gapclosing skill, could be a skill to create a gap > fear.. Or to confuse like mesmer can do good.. Or ofc disappear) and some classes can stack this like sword/gs warriors.. But again they are often just trolling around.. Its not the best build to go for a duel

It will only not work if you already have 3 illusions out, which is not that much of a problem for a shatter build.

Here are some example that this change will hurt a lot:

  • Currently against some professions you are going to dodge backwards to create a clone between you and your opponent, so that the clone can soak the damage. Not that you can do the whole dodging back, against certain profession you have to use this, otherwise you’ll just die. Now that will no longer be possible.
  • Another example is the terrain unevenness. F.e. I get attacked outside of the clocktower, dodge, then go into the clocktower, and now can not use one of my clones, because he is outside (or stuck on a different position). Now even if I dodge multiple times inside the clocktower, my first shatter will only contain a very very low number of useful clones. It could be possible, that the whole shatter is wastes, because the clones are stuck somewhere.
  • Imagine your three clones are standing at a certain range, but you want to create a clone next to you, to get a good daze off. This will also no longer be possible.

1: issnt dodge already a counter to that? What does a clone have to do with it? Because you already dodge..

2: make max range shorter maby. So they are removed faster to create new one.

3:to get a good daze off, again you dodge.. Thats already a counter to it issnt it.

dunno dont play allot on mesmer but i dont get the create clone on dodge to avoid damage because you already > dodge

I use immob allot.. But even i agree on this.
I use immob to land my burst.. Not to stack it where there is no benefit for me atleast..

But where it does is when you get 3+ immob from different people.. Its annoying.
but thats been awhile… Its now max3

I can cleanse it, but i get it if you cant remove it its going to be very annoying.. Stun can take some time also but not 10+ seconds

I think max2 is enough.

If i need a target for sword 2 on warrior. Make it also a teleport.. And give me some evade/reflect also on sword 3 or something.. Because if you need a target to use leap(>>leap..) you make warr also very vulnerable because i cant leap away now.. What other classes can with gapclosing skills or other skills like going into stealth as an example..
Every class can do this except necro, but they have ways to create a gap also > fear.

About gs, yes it sucks you cant kill him with that range.. But thats the same for thiefs.. Its just trolling.
And if i see a gs warrior i alreay know i win.. Or they run.. Thats OK also

Did anyone say that? To make it better compared to rangers? No, we ask for a fix/buff on its speed to make it a real 0,75 maby 0,85 with some afterdelay.. Not 1,25-1,30sec.

Is it wrong that I get happy when I see warriors complain about ANYTHING? I love it. God I wish warriors were deleted from the game.

Anet would never do anything to hurt their precious pet class. I mean 30 hps nerf on healing signet????

My ranger in full cleric gear gets 160 hps with passive regen!! That’s with 1565 healing power. It’s laughable now. I wish anet would just come out and say they want everyone to play warriors.

The skills warrior uses for mobility are suppose to be used for gap closers not escape mechanisms. Its probably a oversight by Anet, because if its not then they would be hypocritical to had nerfed elementalist for the same reason.

Rush, Bull’s charge and Savage leap should all require targets to use.

Why? You can blink away or blink in.. It works the same for savage leap/rush etc.. Not talking about rtl here. But every class has a way to get out or get in.. Is it with blink or shadowstep or other teleport skills or even stealth or other classes also have leap..

If you on use sword i dont see any problem.

If you only use gs i dont see any problem

if you use them both i do see a problem.. Now you suck and are made to run away

I think ANet should reconsider this and adjust the animation time to 1/2 second first, instead of going all the way to 3/4 second. See how that plays out and work from their.

When they made the skull crack change, it went from 1/4 to 1/2 second animation, and that was for a melee attack where you have even less time to react. Changing pin down to 3/4, and still including the travel time…this will probably never land unless the target is already CCed. For me, this attack already misses more than 50% of the time due mainly to dodging and the ubiquitous “obstructed” message (when the target is 5 feet in front of me…)

Also, from a condi war perspective, do NOT reduce the bleed stacks on this, ever. The hambows only use this skill for the ranged immobilization, so they are eager to give up the bleed stacks if it buys them some other advantage in bargaining. But for the players that use the weapon for the condi damage, pin down is our bread and butter. If anything, increase the bleed stacks, but shorten the duration. 8×8 instead of 6×12 would be good.

Yea, while we’re at it they also need to reconsider nerfing HS by 20% instead of 8% so that it’s actually nerfed (10% dmg drop) and not just labeled as nerfed.

You have no idea how balance work do you?
because the 10% damage nerf is for all classes so also warrior, warriot get a8% HS nerf.
So you think warr heals less but you deal less damage also.. Thats right!
But you forget that the warr does 10% less damage also and your heal didnt get reduced..

One handed weapons can do or does more damage on some classes compared to 2handed.. And on some classes it doesnt.. Its to easy to say nerf all 2handers or buff one hands.

because most skills on 2handed weapons are also slower compared to one-handed and even this issnt true for all classes or weapons..

So some weapons on some classes benefith some and others doesnt.. even if they are using a two handed weapons because some two handed weapons doesnt do more damage or issnt viable or has bad skills.. it all depents on class and weapon and its weaponskills.

Another example:

Before
If thief power class does 100% damage
And warr power class heals for 100% on Hs
So does healing for thiefs power class on 100%

Now thief does 90% damage
Warr heals for 92% now with HS.

So yes now it issnt a nerf.
But you forget that the warr also does 90% damage now and your thief still heals for 100% on there skill..

So its still a nerf for warr or you can see it as a buff for all other classes (about the healing, the damage nerfs is for all classes)

I dont think ypu understand what i mean. If they reduced damage with 10% for all classes and 8% on HS. That 8% is still 8% because they didnt decreased all other healing skills..

Even if they reduced it with 50% damage, the 8% is still a nerf for HS.

Ok you still do 2% less damage on warr with power build compared to before (lets keep it simple) but the warr does 10% less damage also, because other healing skills didnt get reduced.

So your point about a fail balance issnt true.

I do agree its weird they come together buth it doesnt really matter.

That burning trait sucks so bad burning is a very short condition so you wont benefit that much fromy the trait in horrible traitline for 20 trait points

Do we really care about pve? These topics are about pvp/wvw. And i think ranger longbow is great there. Good damage on rapid fire + you have stealth and knockback and nice aoe skill on point or wvw

Really, it is perception but the truth is Warrior autoattack on Longbow should just be half of the cast time and half of the after cast and only one arrow projectile. Weaker against blind and aegis but better for overall adrenaline gains (if used between other attacks) and is stronger against opponent’s active defenses (i.e. dodge/block/etc.). It would also encourage slightly more involved play.

Longbow autoattack base is very weak in terms of DPS but is decent in terms of slightly being burst-like. In general, a lot of the autoattacks for Warriors are lackluster which is why Fast Hands/5-sec swap is basically a necessity (pre-Axe nerf, it had a decent autoattack, but the only real good Warrior autoattack now (compared to other classes) is Sword MH autochain since all the rest of the autoattacks are way too far on the slow side.)

TL;DR It just feels very clunky to use autoattacks on all weapons (except MH Sword) for Warriors unless you have a big cleave against multiple foes.

You know what my major problem is with longbow AA? Because its that slow you often see your to late to use a different skill like the blind..

normally you spam 1 button and you see pew…………………..pew………………..
but than you see a burst coming and you want to instant do blind, but nope!! Because your AA is still busy on it casttime.. That made me very sad so it often i just dont use AA because it mess up your react time

Played both Rifle/x and LB/x builds in WvW since headstart. LB#1 does more damage than Rifle #1.

So do i teg,

Try it, take extra bleeding and 10% damage and you see it does more damage, if you have time i can show u. Because i have done this test many times in pvp with someone.

Ofc this depents on your traits etc, but it is possible.. But now we are kinda going offtopic

Your tooltip doesnt say 750-800. What your total damage is depents on your gear etc. Look at the tooltip damage or base damage and compare it with other skills

And with the rights traits you see rifle does more damage..

Longbow ranger is 212 base damage below 500 range.
So more on more range, on a real 3/4 sec

Longbow warr is 232 base damage, doesnt increase on range an its casttime is atleast 1,25 if not more.

About anyone say you dont win with AA, your right but its still a skill to be used in the meantime to keep doing pressure.

About rifle damage compared to longbow Aa damage. Rifle wins with its extra bleeding

On warrior longbow its around (2x)500 on tooltip.. Thats a total of 500! Not 2x 500.

The afterdelay makes this skill a total 1,25 to 1,35sec for a 500 attack.. Thats why its very weak.

But ofc people just reply her like: omg lol warr OP bla bla bla

And about the extra adrenaline gain etc.. It doesnt matter if you hit 2x 500 at 0.5 to 0,75 sec (thats normal because almost every weapon is aroun that on range or melee) or (2x)500 hit on 1,25sec.. Its the same. But ofc less damage.

They should also nerf the radius for combustive shot. In sPvP if you fight for a spot you have to eat it for the full duration or the point is decaped. No way to avoid it.

They already did on stage 1.

Btw warr is not alone in this, engi can do this much easier or necro landing all his marks..

Also cumbustive shot damage is a joke, get of your point and fight and get back or something..

You dont stay on capture point if engi is bombing you to dead i hope..

240 radius (for 10points in explosives) with a delay of 1sec (or 3sec for BigBomb)before it explodes makes it easy to dodge and run around. The fire field is only 3 sec in place. Most important you still can stay on point.
For warrior 360 radius and 9 sec duration fire field on a 10 sec cooldown is not avoidable and you have to eat it.

Talking about spamming bombs/grenades on points. Does more compared to 1 combustive shot..

I have a great idea…

Why don t simply reduce the range and double the cooldown on miss?
Can be done with initiative cost also…should cost double and give half back on hit ….

I m sure it would work perfectly leaving untouched the gap closing ability…

You mean “just double cooldown”? Because all warrior gap closers are non-teleports with literally non-existent chance to hit against any opponent who able to press movement button.

So was Ride the Lightning. It was slow enough to be easily observable and loud and obvious enough that only a foe with no brain cells or no dodges/blocks available (or who was cc’d) could be hit by it. A lot of the time, it would miss for no readily observable reason (usually the result nigh-invisible flaws in the terrain). That didn’t stop Arenanet from giving it this nerf.

Why, then, should a profession with higher health, sustain, armor, and damage than the Ele be exempted from a similar change made on similar grounds?

I dont mind to give them the old rtl back..
But the idea to make gapclosing skills only work on target is bad.. They are used for attacking or run away.

Also i rather have a leap rush on 900 range that atleast hit.. but thats my opinion

Pin Down was so strong, any nerf it receives would be justified.

I rather have a less damaging pin down on 1/2 sec compared to this..

Longbow is designed around pin down before it get the huge amount of bleeding..

They added bleeding to make it a strong skill.

And now its 3/4 sec + ofc a massive message so everyone see when you need to dodge…

why not give the old pin down back or remove some bleeding so it issnt that strong, but on 1/2sec.

Anet does this all the time, buff a skill to a massive skill, nerf it so it issnt viable anymore vs any decent player

this is working as intended.
warriors are meant to be fast.
what is the problem?

do you remember that warriors have no direct access to:
- stealth
- illusions
- death shroud
- pets
- minions
- protection, aegis

warriors are balanced and not overpowered, it has been more than a year since launch, please accept that already.

Yep. They’re balanced. They just have:

The highest health class (tied with Necromancers).
The highest armor class (tied with Guardians).
The best standard damage (Guardians supposedly have the best highly-situational damage).
The best cc.
The best mobility.
And….
The best sustain healing.

So balanced.
Much design.
Wow.

Yeah i love GS for its endless stuns/cc and if i cant win i just rush away..

Yes, after 3 nerfs for just one weapon I do think they can do better compared to this..
They nerfed combustive so much it doesn’t do any damage.. anyone can just walk over it without even see your health bar dropping.

And ofc I agree Pin down was to fast before.. I did agree on MANY topics about pin down to increase its casttime to 1/2 sec + some animation and maby remove 1 or 2 bleeding from it..

But now I think they overdone it again.. 3/4 sec and I can already tell its going to be a huge animation..

Did you also read the comments about the combustive shot nerfs?
They did it because you get to much adrenaline back from this skill… many MANY comments where about this because it issnt true..

Anet doesn’t care, zero response on those topics..

About the compensation, after 3 nerfs I rather have a less bleeding pin down (if you ask me I would say give me the OLD pin down back before it get buffed with 6x bleeding) but on a 1/2sec castime.. and some faster/better AA.

Anet, why not make every warrior skill a killshot animation????

Other classes can just burst you down from stealth
Or like Ele can burst you down, dropping 5 skills in just 1/4sec… where is the counter there????
Mesmers skills that cant be seen because all the screen kitten around or from stealth
etc etc… but ofc warrior need to be slow with every weapon they get..

Nerf conditios? No i think you mean nerf necros(Guardian conditions need no nerf), and OH LOOK notes for the upcoming patch. Duhmfire nerf? Say it isnt so. Seriously guys, balances happen all the time. Yes it sucks that things are disbalanced for abit (not that im gona point a finger at any specific class or healing signet) but things always snap back into place. And your complaining about something that hasnt even happened yet, you do realize that balancing crit damage just means zerkers are getting more attention right? Yeah you guys might even get a new gear type outa this so ez with the Q.Q

P.S. nerfing zerker doesnt mean condi bunkers get stronger, you do realize theres other character types right?

With 2x nerfs on combustive shot and now a huge nerf on Pin down I can atleast say we should also need something back..

Now F1 doesn’t do any good damage or most of the time its only for condi removal.. not even for its damage (burst.. lol) but there is now also a very VERY good counter to pin down.. still not happy with this… but there is not a single buff/compensate to its VERY VERY slow AA.. that also doesn’t do that good damage.. atleast give something in return…

People can say you don’t win with pressing 1111111..
Longbow is for doing a burst, but that becomes very hard with this change.. but that’s the counterpart.. but if you fail your pin down you’re forced to wait for weaponswap.. because longbow cant do enough pressure without pin down/arcing arrow.. F1 is already a joke.
