first 5 mins i was pretty bored with it yesterday.. and didnt liked the spellbreaker at all.. but i am starting to play it more now, it does have some great stuff for pvp.. but still need some rework on mostly mainhand dagger, and some utilities.

Whats really good: (my opinion)

that Elite
pop that elite on mid.. on those moment when you have 4v4 on mid.. this skill will kitten them up real good, (ps it could deal some extra.. like boons for allies)

Fullcounter
I feel like i can really spam this skill.. its a kitten good aoe dmg skill also.

Natural Healing
Ooow man this heal.. its like a full health bar again, really love it + it clears pretty much all condies.. sure also boons but if you build around no boons then kitten those boons.

Wastrel Ruin (dagger #4)
i had this skill hitting for 13k.. its a really good burst skill (sometimes.. )

Bladestorm (dagger #5)
Really nice vs deadeye/rangers range stuff

Breaching strike (dagger Burst)
Not the best dmg, but good leap and its unblockable rip boons..


Whats bad:

Dagger

  1. boring dmg
  2. 2 slow, meh, tiny range
  3. 3 meh feels so unrewarding, make it a stun all time

and ALL THE OTHER UTILITIES i didnt mentioned.. only the heal and elite is good. rest is just meh / boring / wow a dmg boring thing.. / no pulsing resistance skill? meh boring we also have a great heal skill and berserker stance.

Its right there…

Stances gain reduced recharge and increased duration.

Increased duration means longer stances.. wich we get.
But now it also says (wich it didnt before) reduced recharge.. that wassnt there before. And reduce recharge means reduved cooldown. Its the same

It says “Duration Increase” and does not say “Cooldown Reduced”. So it isn’t supposed to reduce the cooldown of stances. (“(^____^)”)

It does say reduce recharge in the game since prev balance patch.. you might want to re-read its tooltip again in game.. not in wiki.

People complaining in this subforum have no clue how to play.

Literally Spellbreaker is the Anti-cheese spec of GW2.

whether it be condi spam, stealth gank trolls, boon spammers or kiters. Spellbreaker counters all of them. (But not all at the same time)

Very well rounded. Berserker is great for PVE, Spellbreaker is great for PVP/WVW.

Brilliant. I had an amazing time as Spellbreaker, literally everyone I fought was in utter shock how powerful I was.

People who complain about Spellbreaker are absolutely clueless.

I like how I can choose what I want to counter, do I want to counter condi spam, or focus more on countering stealth ganks, or punish those who dish out boons.

I cannot counter all, I have to be specific with my choices. Hats off to Robert Gee, really great spec!

Also I like how I DON’T HAVE TO SWITCH WEAPONS, Dagger/Dagger is amazing for self-sustain in 1v1 and zerg fights. (People seem to forget the burst skill for dagger is…UNBLOCKABLE! Which makes up for what Dagger/Dagger lacks compared to other weapons, really good balance!)

What I do is build Bulls Charge, Berserker Stance, and Feather Foot Grace.

BTW Feather Foot Grace is the new berserker stance, and probably better statistically on a ratio.

All in all, THUMBS UP!

dagger/dagger self sustain? that small daze/stun and a reflect? am i missing something? F2 issnt only for dagger/dagger.

go stealth 20 sec.. then you can insta kill your target..

20sec seems pretty fast for me for a kill in pvp, all from safe 1500 range

Ok.

Here’s the preliminary feedback for evening 1 of the demo weekend.

Spellbreaker is bland, boring, low mobility, low sustain and low damage spec.
All it can really do is remove boons, but that doesn’t stop the train of damage comming your way.
I am terribly disappointed. Especially when I looked to other specs like Deadeye.

Thank you ArenaNet for allowing us to have this demo weekend that way we can know weather to buy the expansion or not. And it’s the later for me.

try holosmith.. for real.. having a blast with it :-P feels like a warrior 2.0 with all burst skills on your bar.

With that dmg, i might make engie my main.. like INSANELY dmg.. more then warrior burst attacks all on auto attack and the rest of its holosmith mode skills are all very high burst attacks. those golems are gone before you know it :-P

I wouldn’t fall in love with anything broken you see during the demo, it’s gonna get hit.

Holosmith is like a warrior with 5 insanely hard hitting burst skills..

Go into holosmith mode (photon forge) spam those skills wich deal insane dmg..
You have enough time before you get to hot to burst down 5man..

You go out of holosmith mode.. wait like 10sec and repeat.

Sorry but those skills in Photon Forge deal insanely dmg!

Just look at the amount of skills and new mechanic stuff other classes get… i really am disappointed.

Pretty much all animations already exist in the game for spellbreaker.
All they did is slap some yellow mesmer kitten on it, doesnt feel warrior at all.
It feels slow and unrewarding to use beside some counter boons spec.

Just look at the healing skill animation.. totally rip off from Healing signet..(just like all other skills from spellbreaker) but even more boring because he puts his hand up in the air without a weapon.. even healing signet does that better.

Dmg part is completely trash

Both heal and elite are crazy easy to interrupt.

Meditations are boring.

so all we get are old animations with some yellow kitten, meh utilities and 1 new F2 skill..
Was done playing with spellbreaker after 10min.

Its sad that we know we will never ever get a great new weapon anymore..

All that is left are the smaller versions:

pistol > rifle.
shortbow > longbow

And then we have weapons that just are totally wrong on a warrior (in my opinion)

But because we have had condi now with berserker / power with dagger.. we sure get a support build next ofc.. so yeah that would be staff.. whoo gandalf in heavy armor.

Meh this game needs new weapons..

Warriors use greatswords, hammers, axes!! but nope full heavy armor using a dagger..

I don’t really feel weak to be honest. But I did ditch berserker elite, past nerfs made berserker a lot less strong than core warrior.

Can notice it the most fighting as a core warrior against berserkers, they just can’t touch me and I am superior in every way.

I am 100% in love with the might makes right trait tho, it does actually make things right.

Curious to what spellbreaker will bring to the table.

i dropped Berserker also, new trait does help allot indeed.. its more possible now in PvP. not insanely well but OK.. still have troubles dealing with all the Aoe stuff going on in this game. still feel weak sometimes if my endure pains are gone (like fast) but we see..

But i would love to see some dps buffs aswell.. want to use power warrior again for raids/pve more.. condi is just so much better there

Not opposed to any of it, but your change to BP isn’t going to happen. If you’re thinking it would go 10-15-20, then it doesn’t work with the new stacking approach. If you’re thinking 10-20-30, nobody would take the competing traits.

I honestly don’t think power core is in a bad place, but Berserker could stand to use some tweaks. The concept is already there, and there are a few ways to go, but it could use something to make the decision to enter primal state more worthwhile.

BP? i am not talking about BP?

Btw, this is also for Raiding and PVE, not just PVP.. Core and berserker power warrior could need some love there

What is wrong with it? I does break stun and does what the tooltip says. I have been stunned and hit to below 50% the trait triggered, broke the stun and gave me a nice heal.
This trait saved me more times than I can count, part because it has a stunbreak on it.

explain:
If they CC you below 50% health, you receive the dmg first, wich triggers endure pain before you get CC. and if you get CC without any dmg, you will not trigger endure pain ofc.

Defy pain gives endure pain (or lesser endure pain now) while struck below 50% health.

Endure pain (lesser endure pain) is a stunbreak also..
But because this skill gets activated when below 50% health if struck, you will never ever get to benefit from the stunbreak.

If they CC you below 50% health, you receive the dmg first, wich triggers endure pain before you get CC. and if you get CC without any dmg, you will not trigger endure pain ofc.

So why not (since its called lesser endure pain) remove the stunbreak from the tooltip? so there is no misleading?

Hello fellow warriors,

Maby its time to buff/revert some nerfs on power warrior back in the old days?

Like:

Burst mastery: from +7% to +10% dmg
(Used to be 10% and even minor traits give +7% dmg now + another benefit like burst mastery.. wich btw 33% adrenaline back on berserker/spellbreaker is pretty weak)

AXE-Auto revert some of the final strike dmg back to the first hits. so its not a complete waste if you cant finish the full chain.

GS-Auto: increase dmg with 10% (its just so weak)

100b: increase dmg with 5% + vuln on every hit (they had nerfed it with 5%)

Bladetrail: increase dmg with 10% also
(this skill never received a dmg buff, its slow as kitten and very telegraphed + often fails to come back for second hit and never works vs walls or something)

Whirlwind: this skill did received a dmg nerf back then but this skill is very good for other reasons ofc.

Last Stand: no reduced recharge applied

Also, Greatsword auto attacks need a 20% damage increase, to be on par with Hammer autos…

Gs dps is already better than hammer tho…. Why would you only look at autoattacks?

I still would love to see a buff or change to 100b.. this skill.. ugh soooo old!!! Just gives it some vuln on hit or just any tiny change juzt to make me feel better and newer :p

Carefully read what Cerby said:

I don’t know if you’re all a bunch of PvE heroes or what, but the base mechanics here are being power creeped by your recommendations.

If you adjusted this buff to last the amount of time it takes to normally restore 50 endurance, you are right in saying that both options in the GM trait would have roughly the same access to this buff…

The catch is that this skill is specific to endurance not being full, and in PvP combat, you need to dig a little deeper to find out why they did that.

With Might Makes right, I can use dodge rolls with abandon, regaining Endurance very, very fast, especially so If I focus on might gathering. I can use it to dodge multiple attacks, and simultaneously, I am getting Passive Sustain, and Passive Damage from the might application by taking the GM trait Might Makes Right.

The Synergy is so strong that by both paths having access to the 10% through the USAGE of dodge rolling, the build that effectively avoids all damage it wants to via endurance spamming is far stronger than the on hit reliance of Berserkers Power.

Now when I PvP, good players see Arcing Slice and Decapitate coming. They can effectively negate all damage dealt by abusing I-Frames. This change you propose doesn’t just feed into higher survival through evade spam, it gives it much more even ground with passive damage boosts. Berserkers Power Relies on Application, dodge rolls do not.

A thief spams all glass because it can survive on high endurance ALONE. The synergy of always evading paired with flat damage increases becomes especially disgusting with this new trait, and although ArenaNet has poor balancing mechanics, "Stick and Move was designed with the intent to only be doing additional damage when the player has less access to dodge.

TL:DR Please understand the situational intent of this skill. Just because your filling your stupid bars up too fast with might/health/endurance doesn’t mean you power creep a spec.

You talk about powercreep while there is no powercreep. OP suggestion is so that its not so annoying to gain this dmg buff.. . This dmg buff is there even if we dont change the trait at all. Its a quality change.

(Where there is absolutely no more power then there is right now.. and the extra dodges means Less power because your missing berserkers power)

I believe their goal was pretty well stated a few times by other people in the warrior community. They’re moving to make core as viable as elite specs rather than elite specs as a pay to win mechanic. Which seems to have been the impression most players are making towards the developers.

I’m actually noticing I have other options as a vanilla warrior in WvW. In-fact anecdotally I’ve had much better luck going back to ol’ faithful disc, str, def. Dodge for days. Might for days. Ticks of health for days. Condi meta is easily countered. Switch a couple of traits and you’re good to go. Swap some weps around depending on range/melee opponent.

I’m also excited to say that I’ve found better options in PvE with zerker variations for condi/feroc mix. I believe the spellbreaker will even add more options.

Overall I’m happy to say I’m not bored with warrior anymore nor bound to elite spec. Thank you ANet for bringing me out of my warrior safe place and exploring what used to be the glory of core warrior. No sarcasm intended.

Core warrior is better now for sure. and i do like it.

But why nerf power PS warrior more so that its completely dead? We used to have a power and condi builds for raids and fractal. Now its just condi.

The OP and me also mentioned. That it should be like
Dogde and gain 10% dmg boost for x seconds.. x seconds is the amount of how long it takes to get 50 endurance.. (normal.. so not with traits/vigor etc) and ofc this trait should never stack..

So if you take might makes right or not.. it doesnt matter.. if you can dodge spam or not. It doesnt matter

I see that you missed my point entirely, let me try to say this very, very clearly.

Dodges are incredibly strong. ALWAYS having dodges to spam with 10% damage is much stronger than lets say taking Berserkers Power with 10% damage (you will have far less access to dodge by taking this).

With Might Makes Right in the equation, you would basically make it indispensable for anyone with PvP in mind. You also enforce more passive game play where dodge spam becomes more accessible.

Do you even know the current trait?

Dodge spam has Nothing to do with the current trait. Dodge and you gain 10% dmg buff.. that all you have to do right now. Nothing more.

Changing this trait to what OP mentioned doesnt change anything about the passive dmg boost.. with or without the trait might makes right..

What you complain is that the new strength makes right is OP in combination with new mentioned stick and move.. butevry warrior can stil benift from both traits now if ghey want. But its annoying to manage.. what OP mentions is so it plays better.. and so it doesnt counter eachother.. it is the exact same kitten we have been reading about the old berserkers power trait.

At the same time you make this 10% increase more accessible, you also make it overwhelmingly more efficient to take Endurance spam in order to make the most out of optimal damage output.

Your dodge rolls would do damage, provide invincibility frames, provide a flat 10% damage to anyone that keeps on dodge rolling…..

Reduce build diversity?

Remember old berserkerpower trait? where you received dmg buff if you dont use burst… so in your opinion this is good because this creates build diversity and lets you choose what you want.. dmg buff or use burst skills..

What i remember Anet didnt liked these counter traits neither did the community..

Changing this trait doesnt reduce build diversity also because its in the same kitten traitline and its minor so you cant even swap the trait..

I hate to see my endurance getting 100% during 100b

BUT both players with or without the new trait should benefit from this trait.
So to reach that goal is to give +10% dmg after you dodge for X seconds. (NO stacking)

And X second is the amount of seconds it take to gain 50 endurance without any endurance buffs like traits/vigor etc..

So both strength makes right players and players without it gain the exact same dmg buff..

1st thing i was missing is to run sideways in left/right direction.. or is that possible??

At higher speed there issnt a problem but when your moving into the city you often are at the wrong place because you cant simple walk sideways.. feels very clunky

But something that made me very curious is “Last stand” tooltip:

Never did i saw that in the game..
And no it doesnt reduce the recharge, but maby they did want to?? but it somehow didnt made in the game???

Reduced recharge? never did i saw that.. btw it doesnt reduce the recharge

Without trait:
Berserker stance is 9sec
interval for resistance is 3 sec

With trait:
Berserker stance is 11,25sec
interval for resistance is 3sec

So with or without the trait you get the same amount of resistance.. issnt that just bad design?

Going back to gs/axe+shield
str/def/disc
Going full might boons + might makes right
(mending+5might on heal / Bulls for the extra evade also / SoR (signet of rage)
This trait feels 10 times more Elite compared to Elite berserker.

Too bad i used to love gs/rifle berserker but its crap now.


What are you guys planning to do? waiting for spellbreaker?
Do you guys think spellbreaker would be a good power/pvp build?
Spellbreaker + str/disc??

First you already nerfed warrior sustain pretty hard.
Then you nerfed elite spec berserker with less beserkuptime and longer cooldowns!

And now it only counts as 1 stage????

Wtf why do we even have berserker elite spec ??
Now it only gives you different burst skills that count as stage 1.. so i spec berserk just to build up 30 adrenaline to go into berserkmode, getting minor buffs while getting a stage 1 burstattack that gives a stage 1 trait buffs????

Does that make any kittening sense?? Why do i waste a entire ttaitline to waste 30 adrenaline ibto a 10 adrenaline burst?? With the prev nerfs its even impossible to even labd 3 burst skills while in berserkmode..

Is this Anet? We dont care about you players?? Buy expac!! Fu!

I am a pretty salty person. But this change makes me think twice if i even want to continue supporting this game or even play/buy the expac.

Spellbreaker needs balancing

Full counter needs to be toned down significantly.

Just for slotting the spell breaker line, you get full counter on an 8 second base CD. Just as a reminder to everyone, this skill does the following:

  • Straight up ignores the next attack. It doesn’t block it, it ignores all the damage it does. So it works against unblockable attacks as well (seriously, we should never have anything other than full invulnerability that can stop an unblockable attack). No way to get through it
  • Has an AoE, unblockable daze attached to it
  • 8 second base CD

That’s beyond ridiculous. Remove the daze and it would still be incredibly strong just for its short CD.

Do you read it all? You do understand that slotting spellbreaker nerfs your adrenaline stages right?

Also. Every kitten elite spec gets something new.. a skill or mechanic or whatever. And you complain that warrior gets 1 new skill when they also lose allot of other stuff. And nobody even played ir yet. Topics like these should be closed till expac
