If you ever want a 1vs1 i can meet you with my mesmer/ranger/warrior (though the warrior is traited for group support, and fails at 1vs1s will still try it).

I play a support warrior too and I’ve actually been finding it more enjoyable roaming solo than my mesmer (partially because perma swiftness is orgasmic). Just have to change a trait or 2 as well as utilities and it’s rather good for 1v1s. Although some 1v1s I just avoid because it will last until some reinforcements come from either side… still quite good considering I’m built for a group setting.

There’s nothing more satisfying than running around solo, getting hit by 3-x amount of people and either getting killed or escaping with them /laughing at you, only to find them later and ruin them. Those are about the only people I spam /laugh at. I can just imagine the nerd rage ensuing behind their monitors.

Which server would benefit everyone the most and be the most stable?

Hi there. Although I’ll leave it to others who understand the ranking system a little better than I do to figure out which of the 3 servers to join, (Borlis Pass, Anvil Rock, and Northern Shiverpeaks) I can say that all of the matches have been relatively close but the last 2 weeks (counting this one) have seen Borlis Pass in 1st, Anvil Rock in 2nd, and Northern Shiverpeaks in 3rd. While I would much rather see all of the guilds transfer to either AR or BP so we can fight against you, if we do have a good amount of groups transferring to our tier I think NSP would probably be the first server to transfer to in order to keep the tier stable. Others can chime in though who know more about tier stability than I do!

Completely against it. Zergs are really easy to join into. I do not want to join a zerg just to die. If you want to destroy zergs, learn to play. There are tons of organized guilds destroying larger zergs.

Perfect example of the mentality of a zerger. While coordinated groups can take out groups of larger numbers, there’s a point when the zerg is just too big. I hope somewhere down the road they add a new WvW map for groups that want more competitive play where the incentive is to roam as a small group and kill other players. There is a good bit of population that finds the zerg fun, so just leave EB and the BLs the way it is, but add a new map for the large community of players that want something more competitive. sPvP is a joke with how all the maps are capture point (such a lack of creativity and understanding of what brings competition to a PvP game on ANets behalf).

Aren’t queue times pretty bad on those servers sometimes?

Actually it is believe it or not, i’ve noticed people in front of me have their green dot on the map disapear 5 feet away from me, so yes it actually does. LOL

I haven’t ever seen that. I see the green dot appear on the minimap before a 3D model renders on the screen and know there’s a teammate that hasn’t culled in the game world yet.

Please do explain to me kind sir how there were 3 Envy there at the time when GOAT died when there’s clearly 1 green dot on the minimap in the fight and only one other far south of the fight. When I die solo to someone and wait a minute for a zerg to run over my body, that doesn’t mean that a zerg killed me. Haha

Notice in my screen shot how there’s only one green dot on the map in the fight. Convenient for you that while you’re dead there is no minimap, right? Envy didn’t roll up until later when we had most of your GOAT, (ok, I got carried away not quite the normal GOAT zerg that we are used to seeing of 15+) wiped. Thanks for sticking around to watch us wipe AR too though, who also didn’t arrive until the majority of GOAT was dead.

Also, considering how few people we have, we actually help out our server a lot, we don’t wane on some 5 man pride, we just do it for fun, it’s a game, quit overreacting.

To be fair, we do run with ~8 sometimes on the weekends. It’s usually 5 though, and it’s ironically 5 when we are mistaken for 10+.

I think the point Nutz was making was that he doesn’t think we’ll get a “fair” 5v5 fight when we AJ small groups. The truth is, we wouldn’t get a “fair” fight anyway if we just sit and watch your fight. If we were fighting 15ish, I would fully expect a small group running by to come kill us. It has happened to us plenty of times before, even with guilds like NEWL. Just because we come kill you while you’re fighting someone else doesn’t mean that we disrespect your small group. It means that we saw some easy loot bags. I think it’s pretty clear that everyone that WvW’s doesn’t mind having some easy loot bags. If we run into the same group that isn’t already engaged in a fight, we attack then as well. We love any opportunity for a potential good fight, but don’t expect it to be a fair one. If we get AJ’d, we just don’t count it as a loss to the group, as we don’t count it as a real win when we AJ others.

‘Sigh’ making me talk in circles? In large scale fights you’re relying on AoE killing a downed player rather than using the mechanic used to outright kill them. If a zerg is stacking on top of a dead player, the people rezing him may not be taking any damage at all (and can rez him extremely quick). It makes it hard for a small team to kill people when you down 10 out of 20 people only to have them get back up within seconds. Reduce the time it takes to spike and you can at least kill some of them before they are rallied.

All the people that say AoE should have a player cap plays in a zerg and doesn’t want any implementations to the game where the might have to show a little more skill. If a zerg is fighting in a clump against a small group, they should surely lose the fight. If it is a skilled zerg that spreads out to avoid that AoE, they should win. The way it is right now there is no need for skill in a zerg.

Hi, I play a Mesmer. It’s not a L2P issue. I think it wouldn’t be a bad thing to tone down confusion a bit in WvW, or rework it. PvEers don’t care because it’s already pretty bad there.

You don’t AoE a downed player to kill them…you AoE them to down the people trying to heal them.

And that AoE usually is what kills the downed player as well.

I think an easy “fix” would be to just reduce the spike time to around a 1 second cast. Don’t even have to change any mechanics. Allow the spiker to have a chance to spike before the downed player can use their #2 ability if they go for an immediate spike, and it will also be faster than 3 people rezing the downed player. There would be a little more skill involved with getting a downed team member up (allies will have to be quick on CC if their opponent doesn’t have stability on). As it is right now, getting downed in a large group/zerg is just an annoyance as you lose your 250 stacks on being downed. In large scale fights you shouldn’t have to be reduced to AoEing a downed player to kill them, especially if your team is outnumbered. A downed player should be as good as dead.

I used to think you knew a fair bit about WvW. Not so much anymore. Zergs are required for success in WvW, so are small groups, so are solo players. You’re ignorant to even the workings of WvW and what it takes to win. While we don’t care so much about score and care more about fun, saying we aren’t good at WvW just makes you look bad.

As for toning it down, look who’s the one saying it chest thumping on how you can form a Zerg and how many points you get.
It’d be nice if you could just drop it and stop flaming paxa on the forums, as we never really said anything (other than Jscull jokingly saying we came to your rescue) before you dropped your 2 cents about us here. We never say anywhere that we are awesome or make it out that way. It’s you guys who make paxa out to be that way. The zergers bash on paxa, the small groups respect us. It’s the Zerg mentality that you’ve pointed out in the quote above that causes this. Maybe when you realize WvW isn’t only PvD, you’ll think differently about the different types of being good at WvW.

PAXA 10-15 players group? What? I didn’t see them run with more then 5-6 players.

I saw it last night. I do solo & party roaming when I take breaks from commanding, and that’s been most of my activities this week.

BP had southwest borderland waypoint, and NSP had southeast. Three-way fights in the field by southwest tower. Without a commander, we stomped some of PAXA’s people at the rock by southwest tower, and chased the elementalist all the way to southeast waypoint, where 10 or more PAXA were stacked and waiting. A fun fight followed.

PAXA runs more than one party, and sometimes they converge. So do we.

If you said another night other than last night, I would agree with you. We have run in 10 before. Rare, but we have. Last night was not one of those nights. Seriously, all these made up stories about PAXA are quite funny.

Edit: And I’m sure your ALS roaming group had only 3-5 people in it that you stomped us with, while we outnumbered you, correct?

PAXA: a group of 10-15 people, going out of their way to stealth-portal kill groups of 3-5 people in the exact same areas where there is absolutely no challenge.

I have really tried to understand how this group of people can even have fun killing upscaled noobs and avoiding conflict with groups equal their numbers while NSP has been 3/3 since the beginning of time in BP/AR/NSP bracket.

So spiteful Mr. Plokity Plok. For being Irrelevant DB’s, we sure do kill you a lot (not just behind windmills either). DB’s, ok… maybe. Irrelevant? Nah.

If it’s to test your skills 1v1/2v2/whatever and not just test out abilities specific to your WvW use, sPvP is an even playing field that’s suitable for that. Yes, it’s not exactly the same, but it’s similar enough that if you’re worried about people ganking a fight club it’s a viable alternative. And also, who uses racial abilities 1v1 anyway?!

Haha, nice! I hear sPvP can be a good place to have duels and stuff. Don’t have to worry about people ruining it then. PAXA likes open field fights the most, away from NPCs and towers. Fight club is the perfect opportunity for that type of fight. Kashijikito, you seem like a nice enough person. Sorry that your fun is in the expense of ours, but as long as we see a fight club we’re going to join it in our own way.

Edit: You can build very similar stats with sPvP gear as your WvW gear as well. Plus you can try different specs/gear out much easier in sPvP as well.
