Hello Mesmer Community,

This is my first video I’ve ever made, which is pretty obvious by the poor editing and music failures. Other than that, this was taken over about a 3 hour playing time, just wanted to try throwing a little video together. Input/criticism is welcome! I hope you like it!

A little video taken of this morning/last night solo roaming and 2 person group (NO WAI PAXA DUNT DO HAN SOLO ROAM!). Just started taping, which is obvious by my poor editing skills. I’ll have to give my group play videos to Subcrazy’s editing team (wife, children, and dog) to make it look super coolie’o. Hope you enjoy it! An odd sight in GoM BL tonight. Perhaps the world is coming to an end: PAXA catapulting Woodhaven. Felt I needed to screenshot it to prove it actually happened.

Not as odd as you might think, it’s an age-old tradition held by PAXA and friends to catapult a tower or keep in order to draw out a zerg to kill. It is a necessary evil that we must endure at times.

You sound like an old college classmate of mine! While it may not take a ton of time to program for a small team of devs, it would take forever to get through the pipeline. This idea isn’t something that would be placed very high up with all of the other problems and implementations that they want to fix and put in the game. I.E. there are better things the devs can be doing with their programming time. Gotta think about the design time this would take too…
Not to mention the test times that this would need for balancing reasons. It would take much more time than just programming a new WvW trait system.
Maybe you should apply to ANet and pitch your ideas as a developer… just don’t give away your ideas before you’re hired.

If you ever kept up with the updates, you would see custom arena’s coming out in the future. You also see SPvP, another form of small man group play.

Arenanet doesn’t make this game for you. None of us are that special, especially one guy out of thousands.

But really, NSP is a lot of fun to fight against for small numbered groups. Really only ever see Os zergs, everything else is small-ish and fun to fight against!
Transfer to GoM so we have more people to fight please! Or NSP, they can use some love too

It appears that you thought I was criticizing you for using WvW as a PvP area. I’m not. It’s a game that you can play however you want (although you seem to take great pride in not contributing to the server’s score – hence why we ignore you).

Just please stop posting in this thread if all you are going to do is write post after post about how you put a stake in Rob or (insert guild tag here). When they reply, all you do is go into detail about just how badly you killed them or what build you used. When you die, you go post about how oh, such-and-such zerg killed us in a 30v5 (and we all know that the zerg was formed for the sole purpose of killing PAXA, right?).

Kazi – You obviously do seem to care for some reason as you keep posting about us. No, I do not believe you are criticizing the way we play. But, you do seem to make things up in your mind about PAXA, like how every post we make has something to do with how good we are and how bad everyone else is, for example. That is just flat out false, so I responded with a sarcastic, dumb comment, which I have always done and will continue to do. You clearly think that we are full of ourselves, which is your opinion and that’s fine. If you have that big of a problem with what some of us say, you can simply ignore us. It’s easy. And personally speaking, NSP is not fond of HoD due to quarrels between some guilds that transferred from NSP to HoD. As a server, we have much more resentment towards HoD than GoM. Rest assured, there’s no alliance.

You can want all you want, but here’s the fact, 98% of the time you run into larger numbers and you get smashed, shine your little collection of win trophy for your surprise attacks when the zerg has its back to you when sieging. But most of the time we just roll you guys and you just end up back at spawn or the safety of another pve keep. You aren’t trying to show skillful play, you just like to gank. As for comment of 10 year olds can do any of this, well you are right, most of the time its the kids who has the most time to play and practice. You know with no work or responsibilities its pretty easy to get together with your 4 friends and gank noobs all day.

I’ve been debating about posting this, but I think it is time.

You are playing a different game than we are. Your goal is kills. Our goal is points. It is as simple as that. We generally call people who play for points, WvW players. We generally call people who play for kills, PvP players.

In WvW, everything is about resource efficiency and time management. A good WvW player intentionally avoids fights, if they are a time-suck away from something more important. A good WvW player spends a lot of time not fighting and instead scouting, building siege, repairing, and coordinating. A good WvW player will even build his character differently, so as to be useful to the big picture, which might mean sacrificing killing power for swiftness or escape abilities.

When WvW players encounter PvP players, they see them as a roadblock, just like walls on a castle or defensive siege. A good WvW player will find the most time and resource efficient way around that roadblock. In this case, overwhelm the PvP players with numbers. It only take a minute or two to do, and the road block is cleared without tying up a lot of resourses or making people run back from spawn from losing to a “fair fight.”

The truth of it is, we don’t care how good you are at killing people. We care about points, and you are no threat there. You are an inconvenience, which is easily countered with superior numbers or running away.

If we WvW players looked at you PvP players and said “We are better than you because we contribute to the server point total,” we would be wrong. You are not playing the same game as us, and that is comparing apples to oranges. You are good at what you intend to do, it is just not the same goal that we have.

Likewise, the opposite is also true. PvP players should not say to WvW players “We are better than you because we win even fights.” That is missing the point. WvW players are not trying to be the best at player killing, we have a different goal. It is entirely possible to be a GREAT WvW player, and lose every 1v1 battle you face. Because WvW is not team deathmatch. Sometimes the best WvW tactic is to intentionally die over and over again just to keep the enemy busy. (In fact, we have done that to you before, sent one or two “sacrifices” to draw you away while we do our work.)

So PAXA, keep that in mind. You do not earn bragging rights when you kill a group of WvW players. We do not earn bragging rights when we steamroll you with numbers. The only way to earn bragging rights is to play the same game, which we are not.

You do realize that WvW needs both your “WvWers” as you explained and the PvPers to be successful, right? Otherwise all 3 servers would be unable to attack one another and it would just be taking objective points. Now that wouldn’t be very fun, now would it?

I’ve swapped my corruption on staff for sigil of fire to get a bit of “aoe”. When I solo, I die quite a bit so it was rare for me to get 25 stacks for long periods of time. In groups however, it was a different case – maybe I might get 2 staves…?

The alternative is sigil of earth which I’ve tested also. It all comes down to preference… aoe vs single target. 30% proc vs 60% proc. Short duration burn vs long duration bleed. Both are viable

Do you still use hydromancy in your offhand (on your condi builds it shows you have it on the torch I believe)? I’ve noticed that when either a sigil of earth or sigil of fire when it procs and the internal timer is ticking, weapon swap procs won’t go off within that time period. Sometimes makes weapon swap proc sigils useless, which is annoying haha.

We were attacking blueberry and I got hit from behind by a fat norn warrior and a thief, I whispered jscull and said “was that you?” with no response. So I asked if he wanted to 2v2, no response again, so I asked for a 5v5, and then I got the “QQ” response, so I started to mess with him. I had no history with any of PAXA, so I honestly didn’t care, I was legitimately interested in fighting you guys in your own play style.

I’m pretty sure that it was you that I talked to a couple weeks ago, where I explained (to you) that a post on the forums was actually a compliment and not meant to be an insult. I don’t know about you, but if I hated PAXA, then I wouldn’t have done that. I don’t instigate people unless I don’t like them, take for example, AR. So since I knew nothing of jscull, there was no reason for me to instigate him, until he did so to me first. Please use your head next time.

The reason PAXA gets mad at everybody else is because jscull is like Ronny, they both feed their guild stupidity because they don’t like certain people. They feel that if they don’t like somebody, nobody else should either.

You dislike all of AR? That’s a lot of people haha. All I know is we rakittenman, (wtf? “ran a five (5) man” is censored?) killed someone from Os, and Jscull said Anths was trash talking him the whole rest of the night we were running, and he was reading us the PMs (which were rather funny).

It’s funny also how you think Ronny and Jscull both run their guilds as a dictatorship, if we like someone they don’t, we’d get the boot. Hey, I like to duel. Hey, I like some people from Os. Oh no! I may not have a guild after this post!!
