Haha all of you been blinded by this drama that you forgot that Vets may be losing progression and forced to gain skills back again…..

I don’t care about that.
How a company consider me & my money is more important to me that a system change (that I do find good).

Look at what you paid for and what you received over 3yrs. Anet has been pretty fair.

As you paid 0$ during those 3 years just don’t try to call out people on not supporting Anet & being ungratefull.
So they may have been fair during these 3 years; I will not let them sleep on any kind of crap just because they were fair before.

When WoW puts the expansions in the battle chest, no one bats an eyelid.
The expansions that was priced at 45 Euros get dropped in a bundle that costs 10-15 euros. No problem at all.

Since when putting the core game in the only expansion is totally equivalent to putting the previous expansion in the core game when the next expansion hit ?
There must be something that I miss.

Even then Blizzard gave to the people that owned the previous expansion something.
So yeah Anet is really doing it well.

PS: I missed a part of the discussion; oh straylight again.
Doing it’s “dodgy style argument”.

In that case I guess the only way to make them listen is to STOP… but not with the posts. I declare Monday, 22th of June the day we stop playing GW2. When they see the massive drop in player base, they will listen. Spread the word. Even if it is only for 1 day, let’s just stop, all of us. Stop buying in-game stuff, stop their in-game economy, stop their player base, blow the forum, blow the system.

you take too much time:
I stopped playing (by that I ‘m not launching the game).
As long Anet doesn’t give us a correct package; I’m not buying anything from them anymore.

Then quit posting on the forums and go after that legal action. They already have clarified what they actually meant. I knew what it meant before I purchased it and I got the information from ANet.

It’s so clear that no one know what it is.

…snip….

Hey buddy, I have a new metaphore for you.

A new item comes to the cash shop.
- If your account is older than 12 months ; it will cost you 1000 gems.
- If your account is younger than 12 months ; it will cost you 1000 gems and you get a free harvester tool at 1000 gems that 12 months old players could have paid for before.

Would like to be in the group of the older players ?
Knowing that deals like that may arise more & more often ?
Sooner or later everyone will go in the older group.

As long that I know what we buy is HoT; be it new players and old players.
Did you see any vet angry when Anet put the game at 10$ multiple time ?
Ask yourself why there is such a difference.

As I read the forum; we all struggle to find a good metaphor to explain what the veteran are finding unacceptable in current Anet offer.
So let’s unite & give them one good metaphore once & for all That we can reuse on all the forum.
I will update this post with what I find is the best metaphore.

I find this one to be an accurate metaphore

A new item comes to the cash shop.
- If your account is older than 12 months ; it will cost you 1000 gems.
- If your account is younger than 12 months ; it will cost you 1000 gems and you get a free harvester tool at 1000 gems that 12 months old players could have paid for before.

Would like to be in the group of the older players ?
Knowing that deals like that may arise more & more often ?
And that sooner or later everyone will go in the older group.

This one shows :
– the treatment difference based on account’s age.
– the fact that 2 groups get a different deal for same offer at the same time.
– the older groups did pay for a an item before & used it but get refused a spare that it may used.
– The groups doesn’t get the same value for their money.

Okay guys, let’s show them.

PS1: before I hear this argument:
No I do not begrudge newcomers ; the deal is amazing for them.
What I despise is how Anet treats the veteran unequally compared to newplayer.
I ask for fairness from Anet toward veteran.
So If you are a newplayer then good for you, for me it’s a NO NO.

PS2: people should check customer equity :
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Customer_equity

In deciding the value of a company, it is important to know of how much value its customer base is in terms of future revenues. The greater the customer equity (CE), the more future revenue in the lifetime of its clients; this means that a company with a higher customer equity can get more money from its customers on average than another company that is identical in all other characteristics. As a result a company with higher customer equity is more valuable than one without it. It includes customers’ goodwill and extrapolates it over the lifetime of the customers.
The term is a misnomer since the term has nothing to do with the traditional meaning of equity.
There are three drivers to customer equity, all of which refer to three sides of the same thing:
Value equity: What the customer assesses the value of the product or service provided by the company to be;
Brand equity: What the customer assesses the value of the brand is, above its objective value;
Retention equity: The tendency of the customer to stick with the brand even when it is priced higher than an otherwise equal product;

Customer equity strategy
Companies often attempt to gain more customers and increase revenues by improving customer equity. They do this by:
improving consumer service
improving the value or desirability of the brand
improving goodwill
improving brand popularity such as by advertisements

1 year later…..GW2 the Mist Dragon includes GW2 heart of Thorns + The Mist Dragon expansion. We offer it as a bundle for new players….

For those who didn’t “get it”, we’ll need to buy 3 times the GW2, becasue as it is now, GW2HoT is the core game and no more GW2.

You are wrong on one point newplayer of HoT will have for 2 times the price after all.

So instead if the same offer for 2 groups; we will have the same offer for 3 groups.
Imagine the debacle that this will provoke.

Veteran : GW2 check HoT want to buy it but not release yet.
Newcomers : GW2 no, Hot no still not released.

Doesn’t make sense.

“We currently pay the same to get less”. That’s one way to word it. You could also say “We currently pay the same but the new players get more on top of it”. And why exactly is that a problem for you now? Are you jealous?

XD; I ’m gonna love this.

So you admit that veteran get less & you reword it to make us look jealous.
Fair enough.
Except that guess what: there is something called customer equity.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Customer_equity

An extract there :

In deciding the value of a company, it is important to know of how much value its customer base is in terms of future revenues. The greater the customer equity (CE), the more future revenue in the lifetime of its clients; this means that a company with a higher customer equity can get more money from its customers on average than another company that is identical in all other characteristics. Should I say more.

New players always get the better deal and they pretty much need it if you expect them to catch up to a game everyone else has already been enjoying for three years.

How by buying the game (even with a discount) do they catch the 3 years of playtime that they didn’t get (by their own choice) ?

I’m sorry but you’re nothing special for already owning the game.

But new players are special for not owning it ? How come ?

Because they are new and need an incentive to buy the game. If it makes them buy the game so Guild Wars 2 can grow to a bigger community it’s a good thing.

They buy Hot not GW2. Just like me.

Look. Lets say you are having an insurance. And there are 2 stages of it: the basic, and the advanced.
You’ve been paying for the advanced for years and now – as marketing – a new customer gets the advanced insurance for the price of the basic one.
But will you get your money back? No. Because that’s not how this works.
You both got the same product, yet the new customer gets the better deal.

I ressign & apply for the new price as this is my right as a consummer & that without any penalties.

No the example would be the following:
-The new item comes to the cash shop.
-if your account is older than 12 months it will cost you 400 gems.
-if your account is younger than 12 months it will cost you 400 gems and you get a free mini queen jennah, which you – as a verteran – recieved with your birthday gift a long time ago already.

But would you cry about it?

Let’s change it again :

No the example would be the following:
-The new item comes to the cash shop.
-if your account is older than 12 months it will cost you 400 gems.
-if your account is younger than 12 months it will cost you 400 gems and you get a free mini mini at 400 gems that 12 month players have paid for before.

Most players didn’t even had the chance to try out the closed-beta to know if there is enough content to justify the cost. The veteran players need to do the leap of faith and pay $50 to know whether it’s worth it. Meanwhile the new players gets a good deal by paying $50 for the core and expansion. Sounds unfair for the veterans here.

You know that this was stress test with only a tiny bit of map ?

We should be welcoming of new players, not complaining. What kind of message are posts like the “It’s not fair on veteran players!” setting to new players? I’m finding it more and more disgusting the amount of contempt people are ‘showing’ towards new players.

Here we go again with the other crap:
ONCE and for all;
This is not about new player being unwanted by veteran.
This is about Anet screwing veteran & treating them lesser than newplayers.
And I said LESSER.

It’s not a that GW2 is a free bonus for HoT expansion or GW2 is included in the package anymore ?
Can you get that straight once & for all ?

Can you tell me where is the offer for old player ?
Because I’m sure you know what Anet think.

I don’t see a big deal with the newbies getting a bit more for the cost. They wont have the legendaries I have the skins I have the gold I have saved the AP titles etc.. I will be starting HOT with pretty much max everything and best gear possible while they will be lvling to reach HOT content I will already be completing it. Some of the things I have gotten will never be obtainable to the newer players and that is fine with me.

Because you(a 3 years old player) owe something to new players ?
Wait; this must mean that I owe something to 2 years old players ?
And they owe something to 1 years old players.

No as a long time player I am not owed anything I only have what I have worked for in game. I am fine with new players getting the base game that way they can increase our player base. It doesn’t bother me when I buy HOT that I don’t get anything extra because I already have all the awesome stuff from playing over the course of release till now.
