Well, likely, the only clear answer you will receive is the one from the patch notes.

Contents will rotate’.

Still, you may get lucky and a Dev will respond with upcoming contents of the loot table.

Good luck.

Oh well, you will never know if you never try. ^^

One of the going theories is that HI (Home Instance) nodes will cycle through during ‘seasons’. This current ‘season’ being Halloween, so the Ghost Pepper Node is on offer.

Only time will tell. I do believe the patch notes said items would change:

The Black Lion Chest has been updated, and its contents will continue to rotate more often with the in-game seasons.

Good luck.

Thank you for your input; but as it stands this is just a suppositin.
I would like a clear answer about that issue.

The rare drop section only indicate ghost pepper node (while the others section are fairly extensive about the loot table).
This doesn’t indicate if the other nodes are in the loot table or not at all which is the main issue .

‘The’ node. Im afraid youre gonna have to be some specific because I actually found a HI node in the appreciatory black lion chest last week

HI node meaning ?
Because from the trading post “node” listing the price of all node is rising & the stock is falling.
Plus in the list of unlock in the chest : I didn’t see any node for the personnal home instance.

Hello,
I have been playing GW2 since release & have bough quite a lot of key during this time.

With the recent change of the BL key, I have now no more reason to buy the key Chest.

I think the picture of my inventory will be pretty clear on why.

I own permanent bank access, TP & vendor, which means than the temporary vendors are useless to me.

Before the change, I could get booster which are quite nice in some instance; recolt buff, battle(for raid, MCM) or XP (thanks during the HoT release), you get the points.

Now I don’t get any booster, only the useless one time access, which means I won’t buy the keys anymore as I will really have only just useless piece most of time.

And it’s amazing. No flat map even comes close. I’m starting to notice patterns, and pre-defined paths, and the thought that had to go into arranging these maps.

These maps are, quite literally, a work of art, and I think it’s a bit of a shame and hurts HoT maps that the rest of HoT legendaries won’t come. They’d bring many more players in with incentive to explore the maps than otherwise will be the case. But oh well.

For long telescoped attacks, people use their dodge.

Maybe I just had crap pugs, that that is also worth a discussion: why kill the pugability from fractals in first place?

It’s not killing the pugability of something that’s supposed to be hard (fractal T4) to make it actually difficult.

Bad pug shouldn’t come to T4 if they don’t want to improve. If you want the reward then get good at it
Just don’t come using the meta build not caring what happen around you and not willing to adapt.

I guess you’re not making a legendary or new stat insignia. So why not make the ley line tools? https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ley-Line_Infused_Tool check the TP price at the right. If you have the charged quartz, you can turn your ley sparks into gold.

Except that charged quatz is gated (1 per day) and that one TD chest can give you up to 10 ley line sparks.
Before these wasn’t looting enough, now they are looting too much & Anet hasn’t implemented a sink (same old story).
Please give ley line, airship oil, etc a very small monetary value.

Nope. Racial armor skin will lock your armor to the race until you transmute it to something else.

Plus as you can’t equip the armor, you will not be able to transmut it.
So take the character that can wear it then transmute the armor to an unracial one, before using it.

You are also “forced”:

To play PvP for glorious armor (skin)
To play WvW for their newly added armor set (skin)
To do full map exploration for old legendary weapons (weapon alternative #1)
To do full HoT map exploration for new legendary weapons (weapon alternative #2)
To play events for Karma armor/weapons (skin)
To play AB for Auric weapons (skin)
To play VB for bladed armor (skin)
To play TD for chak weapons (skin)
To play DS for leystone armor (skin)
To do achievements for achievement armor/weapons (skin)
To win WvW seasons for Mistforged weapons (skin)
To do fractals for Fractal weapons (skin)
To do high level fractals for golden fractal weapons (skin)
To do fractals for the fractal backpack (bp alternative #1)
To do Ranked PvP for the PvP backpack (bp alternative #2)
To Play SW for luminescent armor (skin)

You might as well quit the game, everything seems to be exclusive…

Yep that argument totally make sense…. cough….cough…

Legendary Armor Information

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: papry.8096

papry.8096

For those who say that Legendary armor doesn’t offer any advantages over Ascended, you’re forgetting one thing: the stat switching. By equipping yourself with Legendary armor, you are essentially future proofing yourself against the need to upgrade to new stats in the future as more expansions are released. Oh, the Paladin’s set introduced with the Elonian expansion is now meta? Switch my Legendary armor over to Paladin’s, maybe put in new runes. Boom. Done. No need to do whatever crazy grinding/collecting is needed to get it, and I can start enjoying the new stats immediately.

They are not forgetting it, they are voluntarary ommiting it because they want their elitist piece of gear and to shut the discussion.
As for the skin; yes they can have every special skin they want: mini, weapon, etc like every other gamemode.
But just no to have legendary armor gear only in raid.

Bosses are unbalanced in HoT maps

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: papry.8096

papry.8096

Everyone zergs to Matriarch because she’s easy. They don’t use CC before she gets away. So the entire fight takes much longer than it should, leaving no time to hunt the other bosses.

Matriarch is easy to get to, which happens because players abandon bases the moment they’re captured, so there aren’t any other helicopters to take players to the canopy. Sadly, that fault lies very heavily on the players.

Out of the other four bosses:

  • Patriarch requires Updraft Mastery and mechanics that slow the fight down. The very slight puzzle requirement probably turns some players off.
  • Tetrad is actually a straightforward enough fight, but it requires a joint force to start off. Lack of coordination and not knowing where they are tends to make people skip it.
  • Frog bros are frustrating with their teleporting and healing, so players skip them.
  • Axemaster is hideously designed and not worth doing, so no one does Axemaster.

As for the other critters out there, most vets are readily survivable or ignorable, unless you’re going for hero points. I will agree that many HoT mobs are lazily designed, which causes their attacks to be unnecessarily overpowered with zero cooldown.

Patriach: just turn left, the updraft will make you go up.
Tetrad: never saw a problem there. you are making excuses.
Frog bros: when you learn that they heals when they reach 25% of their HP & that there is a direct mushroom to their healing foutain.
Axemaster: when he Tp get to him & CC. :x

Basically you are just highlighting the thing that I hate the most: don’t learn the boss strategy, then proceed to cry because you still want the reward.

The number of ingot for these are too high for 10 lamp you need 150 ingots that you must farm alone or 4500 pile of dust.

20 ingots = 600 auric dust

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Gilded_Lamp
15 ingots = 450 auric dust

First, that’s way more that for one legendary : specially when you need to craft multiple for a Hall.

Second, Auric ingot & pile of auric dust are account bound so you can’t bypass that step

Please reduce the amount of ingot to something manageable by one player.
Like 1 ingot for a lamp & 3 ingots for a firepit.

What's the point of 1 shared inventory slot?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: papry.8096

papry.8096

I think that Anet has a problem understanding the scale of some things. At the moment they are selling a single shared inventory slot in the gemstore for 700 gems. What am I going to do with one shared inventory slot? Moving stuff between characters is a wholesale process:

- Ascended armor pieces (6)
- Ascended trinkets (6)
- Ascended weapons on some cases (1-6)
- Gathering tools (3)
- Salvage kit (1)
- Food and oils (2)
- Siege weapons (2+)

When I’m moving stuff between characters I need to swap all of that and I need a good amount of bank space for it. That means I won’t buy your 700 gem shared inventory slot ever, but I might consider buying 700 gem shared 20 bag slot. Get it right or you keep losing business.

papry.8096

I also still remember how said kind of people treated Rangers at the start of Gw2 with dungeons/groups

I understand that some people can be jerk, but it wouldn’t happen if Anet didn’t do a bad job at balancing their profession. Ranger and Necro used to be a joke in PvE and now they are both part of most raid party.

Look that vid then come back after.

‘Having to learn the mechanics’. Raids in this game remind me of watching lab rats in a maze, where if they get it right they are rewarded (and uses about as much intelligence).

Give me large scale pvp fights any day, where at least some thinking is involved on the fly if you want to be any good, rather than a great ‘raid’ consisting of performing the scripted dance exactly as planned with no room for deviation or improvement.

The mechanics are acutally so kittening easy to learn.

The main idea behind raid bosses is:

1. Mechanics
2. Survive
3. DPS

Add to that some RNG (randomly targeted player), different team compositions and you will see that it’s not only about learning a “scripted dance”.

After all even PvP is scripted if you really want to. There are just a bit more variables to it.

That’s what made me stop raiding.
I would catch on the pattern pretty quick, I would die a bit before getting the counter right,
Then look at 5 other teammate keep dying at the same step or not making any progress.

Pretty much the same that’s happening in fractal tier 4 molten boss currently;
People didn’t learn the mechanic as they were just bursting the boss.
Now they struggle to kill theboss.

Hell is the others in this game, at least for me.

I have the best armour and stats at the moment, and i’m happy with everything. But I just sat back in horror as I watched a level 15 icebrood elemental in a low-level region remove half my health in a few seconds.

If they ever decide to make a gw3 I hope they get rid of that stupid scaling system, because it really makes the game look like child’s play.

Even if my health suddenly drops from 20k to 1.5k, I would expect a low level enemy to struggle against a level 80. My suspicion is that levels are actually meaningless in this game.

I’ve posted on this topic before, and I’m posting again because this is something that is still bugging me.

ADDENDUM: some of these mobs are actually killing me quicker than level 80 mobs.

why can't jewelers create ascended trinkets ?

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: papry.8096

Given how easy it is to acquire the trinkets for no cost at all,why would you want to
spend expensive mats on crafting them?

To make the new way stats that they want to hide behind raid, thus giving an option outside raid to get them.
Add them to the jeweler 500.

You could also think of legendary trinket that will come at some point & that will be linked to jeweler 500 to craft like the other legendary weapons & probably armor too once the 3rd raid wing comes out.

Where exactly did you get “people just sit in Lion’s Arch” from my “doing open world almost exclusively”?
Also, what is that “so much”? Do you forge stuff every day? Are your numbers of attempt daily in one, two, maybe three digits? (If it’s any less, you still are at below 50% chance of getting a SINGLE precursor out of it since the beginning of the game).

Okay, my bad there.

Ah, seen you have clarified that in the meantime. Yes, that would make you a low outlier indeed. And yes, that is going to be frustrating. Unfortunately, it doesn’t mean that the RNG is not working as advocated, only that possibly it’s not the best system to use for drop distribution. That is however something for a separate thread.

I actually think that this is a perfect thread to lash at it.

If you are doing open world almost exclusively, and do not use forge much, that’s unfortunately highly possible. Remember, mere playtime will give you no drops at all. It’s how you play that influences that.

Here come the assumption that “people just sit in Lion’s arch”.
The part that you don’t seem to get is that aside that I have more playtime than my prec looting buddy; I do almost everything like him as we often play together.
Most of my playtime (at least 95%) is from actual play & not waiting at lion arch.
That what’s frustrating; playing in the same way & don’t get anything while your friend with less hour played is drowned in prec.

Fun facts :
- Everytime I had excess T5 & mithril; I was doing greatsword to throw in the forge.
- All my yellow weapons from anything have gone in the forge for the last 3 years.
- I was putting so much in the forge than I buyed a mystic conduit & ended up convincing my prec looting to also buy one (which he loved) as we had the same intensive usage.

So no that thing isn’t right.

Yes, definitely, accounts have an associated RNG, better in some and worst in others.

But only insofar as the Luck Stat is concerned. Two accounts with identical Luck Points have identical RNGs

No, no…what I mean is that accounts have their own initial RNG when they are created plus the lucky points they get during play time.

No. This theory has been disproved time and time again.

RNGs arnt fair

They’re fair in the sense that everyone is treated exactly the same. Those players who get 20+ precursors, everyone else in the game has exactly the same chance of being those players. The same can be said about those who play for 10K+ hours without a precursor drop. Everyone has the same chance of being one of them too.

So either be lucky or be kittened to no return ?
Doesn’t seem fun; in fact it isn’t when you are in the negative outlier.

Btw reading in what you are writing; there should be a chance for me to get out of that outlier.
Except that this chance still haven’t come by in 3 years of playtime but for my buddy that is drown in prec; he still get them.

Every account has the exact same chance on RNG.

Then how do you explain a person getting 5 precursors in 20 forges? Luck? Hell no because that same guy will get a precursor drop off a mob in WvW then the next day will get 3 ascended chests and the next day will get another pre off a random mob…. While a person like me can play for 4k hours and not get a single pre.

Same here around 5K hours; no matter what I play or what I put in the forge (& I did put a lot before the prec annoucement like all my yellow weap since 3 years) I never got one.

During this time lot of people of my guild got prec from forge.

Fractal is the same kind of bullkitten: 1 guildmate get an ascended chest almost every 4 days (even 2 sometimes), me none since one month.

So please stop with the “everything fine” when it’s not.

Hours played doesn’t matter when it comes to precursor drops.

Everything is fine. You’re only focusing on the outliers on either end which is not representative of how things are.

I don’t pretend to do statistics & in all truth; I don’t care. This is just unrewarding.
Spending time in the game to have bad reward most of/all the time(no precursor & almost no ascended chest drop) whereas someone have a lot.
That’s the point there.

So basically you’re just unreasonably jealous and angry over something that doesn’t personally affect you. Like when a complete stranger or a friend wins the lottery and you get angry that they won and you didn’t. Because you somehow associate your sense of self worth with in this case in-game wealth/reward.

Yes you can say it like that, except that this doesn’t steems from one occurence but multiples one.

I do the content with that person regulary. I don’t loot anything. he loot a lot.
Meaning my time playing doesn’t equate to his time in term of reward.
When this happens again & again & again & again & again & again with the same person; It doesn’t feel right.

When that happen for 2 years straight with one guildie getting multiple precursor in the mystic forge when you throw all your yellow in it, like him or even craft yellow to throw them in forge regulary.
At one point, you are bound to ask yourself “Why the kitten can’t I get even one ?”

I love the fact that TD is actually difficult to navigate, a labyrinthian depth of winding tunnels and caverns where patience is the key to finding your way, not the amount of swiftness you can stack. Well, until you get smart and figure out that there is a hub from which you can travel in either direction.

Maybe I’m just more adventurous than the average player, but I like it when maps aren’t just big, wide, empty and harmless stretches of land that seemingly go on and on forever. Like, you know, the rest of Core Tyria. Sure, the big wide meadow with the sunset on the horizon has its charm, but variation is key.

VB and TD are perfect examples of variation. Unlike Auric Basin which is basically one city surrounded by a giant circle (Divinity’s reach in the jungle, basically) or Dragon’s Stand which is literally just 3 lanes. (Although, this was in the design so not gonna complain about that.)

TD is my default map whenever I feel like doing some PvE, simply because of the design. Even if I now know it by heart, I still feel like I’m lost in the jungle and on a grand adventure when I enter that map. So it’s definitely doing something right.

Yup agree.

The map is ammazing & have multiple layer of travel; a map that is amusing to discover & navigate.
