It would be cool if there was a skill that allowed you to drag a fallen comrade away from the battle so that you could then “revive” them with less worry of being killed while reviving.
As it stands now, if I go to revive a fallen melee comrade, chances are I will get killed because I am near the center of combat and so fail to revive him. So instead, what I think many of us tend to do is first kill all baddies around the fallen companion and then revive him. This is fine for combat involving small numbers of baddies, but during a dungeon or a DE it is rough.

IMO, paying for repair is fine. But those way point fees are much too high IMO. Those add up, at least at lower levels and especially if there are no alternatives to fast travelling (e.g., mounts, which I don’t want to see in GW2). And if you die in a dungeon, you pay to repair, you pay to just respawn at a waypoint, and you have a debuff. That is a little harsh it seems to me.
And by the way,“earnt” is not a word in the English language.
The only thing I have learned from reading this thread is if I am the OP and don’t want to really discuss the merits/demerits of my idea, I just need to call someone “ignorant” and/or “biased”, then I can take the high moral ground and self-justifiably refuse to take the time to write a counter argument.
LFG Tool? Hope not…better add a new channel people can join if they like. One-button already exist in most MMORPG, most people play here since it’s different.

Aside from being “fun” there is no real goal
It’s a game. What other goal can there be?
ROFLMAO at this topic’s question — “Nearly a month after release. Any second thoughts?” — and all similar threads.
It’s as if the decision to play this game was on par with the decision whether to get married, buy a house, which car to buy, etc.
Seriously, it’s a game. It doesn’t matter.
I can’t even remember what my guardian spirit choice was! That’s how much of an impact it has had on my character.
This game was designed from the very beginning not to have the “trinity” roles — tank, dps, healer. So it’s not likely to change. And good riddance to the trinity model says I.
I did that too by mistake. The way Rift deals with it is you have 30 minutes or so during which you can sell back the item for a full refund in the currency used to buy the item (karma in our case). This seems quite reasonable.
I dropped 200 gems on a dye pack from the “gem store”. It was a random set of dye none of which I wanted. I won’t buy a dye pack ever again. How do you “Just get the ones you want”? Can we buy individual dyes from the gem store? If not, it would be great if we could.
I hate this idea. I move around a lot and so never encounter the reduced drop rate and I still easily manage to get the things I am farming.
Although I’ve found three broken skill point thingys and I only have about 25% of the map complete on my current character.
Thank you for this. The OP is quite correct.
Does it require a unanimous vote? I thought only one person had to confirm the kick initiation. Even if it was unanimous, it still gets abused. Go play Rift for a while and you will see. Some people just agree to every kick vote regardless just to get the dialogue out of the way. Other get all elitist and if you don’t have the perfect build in their mind, kick. Make one little mistake, kick. That’s not to say it is never used for legitimate reasons. But it only seems like a marginally good idea in the case where groups are formed via some LFG tool. As we don’t have one, little need for a kick option. I like the fact that there is no LFG tool; there’s nothing wrong with standing around in front of the dungeon and getting a group together with whoever is available.
From another thread:
I’ve never been in a MMO where the kick option wasn’t abused.
So why have a kick option at all? It should not be an option. Just roll with the group you have and have fun.
If it doesn’t work out, just leave and reform the group without the problematic person.

Either way, I feel totally kitten in this scenario. And you better believe that if it doesn’t get looked at, IM going to be the one kicking out the terrible player with my friends right before the last boss goes down to prove some points.
I fail to see how you doing this terrible thing to someone else in any way improves anything, other than assuage your anger.
What happened stinks, no doubt about that. But promoting bad behaviour by imitation is certainly not the answer.
My guardian… Doodly Studmuffin
I think having the MOTD pooping into the chat at login time would be perfect.
Also, I think guilds need a place where they can publish the guild rules of conduct or vent info, that sort of thing.
I have three mini-pets from my GW1 Hall of Monuments rewards. There appears to be no UI to summon them when I want them running besides me. Instead, I have to put them in my bags, right-click them and choose ‘Use’. The problem is that if I ever use the “Deposit all collectables” option from the gear icon in the upper right corner of the UI panel that shows our bag contents, my mini-pets all go back to my bank. So, since I am one of those people who like to have mini-pets around all the time, I can never use the “Deposit all collectables” option otherwise I have to go find a banker or go to a crafting station.
On a related note, I think we need a “button bar” that can be positioned anywhere we like on the screen. Then we can assign consumables and mini-pets, etc, on the button bar and use the items from there. Look at the Rift UI which is extremely well done and refined.
I totally agree with you OP. Let party members pick it up, no one else.
As long as you try to massage your builds into Trinity roles, the more likely ANet will nerf you.
Oh I know. My gw1 account got hacked two years ago and I could never bring myself to returning.
I miss my 55 monk.
I agree. Guilds are pretty useless and the incentives for recruitment are all wrong. The only reason I can think of for being in a guild is to team up to do explorable dungeons and have a prayer of a chance to complete them.
And I had a great underwater fight with a boss and a random group of people. In fact, underwater fights are a lot of fun, at least on my warrior (not so much on my necro though, but that’s getting addressed).
I loved getting cattlepulted onto a tower top yesterday.
I sympathize with the OP’s res shrine point. Too many times when I have died and try to go to a way point I find the nearest one or two way points are “contested” so I can’t res there. When that happens I just go do something else. It’s a minor annoyance to be sure.
I find if I just play for a couple of hours I get the daily with no problem. Although sometimes I have to make an effort to get a couple more events in.
We have one on Sea of Sorrows, in case you want to transfer. We are recruiting slowly.

My norn lady is dyslexic or something. She keeps saying “Gaining adrenaline” when in fact it is going down.
As a Norn I want a sick-looking two handed axe.
Æstrid Ingegärd. An actual viking name.
Hmm, I’m a leader of a guild and frankly I don’t want to spend my time being a “representation nazi”. I want to spend my time playing the game. I would like the game to manage representation enforcement.
You don’t need the notion of “represent” to have different characters in different guilds. Go check out Rift.
I agree. It’s a bad idea. The whole “more choice is good” argument doesn’t hold water.
Too many banner thieves: Make Banners able to be picked up by group only
in Warrior

I totally agree with you OP. Banner “thieves” suck.
I have not noticed any change at all. I am not disagreeing with the OP, just saying I have not noticed a changed. But then again I don’t do the same events over and over, and I tend to only do any given dungeon once a gaming session or two. There is just too many other things to do in this game to spend it on something as boring as farming one thing over and over. Maybe I am just playing the game as intended. Shame on me I guess.
But I do find this post ironic. People were crying about botters (and rightly so). The latest move by AN, at least as described by the OP, seems to be an obvious way to deal with botters across the board. Manually banning botters who are reported by players is problematic because then AN has to individually examine a report and verify that there is enough evidence to conclude “someone” is a botter. It is far more preferable to just make botting less profitable and so less worth the effort.
That’s what we should be discussing here: has AN made botting less profitable? I don’t know. It seems reasonable that they have, but I really don’t know.
Great post. There do seem to be a lot of people that “MMO hop” and those players will never be satisfied… EVER. There is no game that can fill the void they are looking for. Not sure why they think every game they try out is going to “be the one”.
Some people were really looking for tangible gear rewards “end game” and when they hit that gear cap they see no point to playing anymore. Those are the same players that think dungeons are pointless because dungeons are for cosmetic gear not stat gear. For those of us that play the game for fun were doing just that. Playing and having fun.
GW has never been about gear. Grinding has always been for vanity items. If people thought otherwise they were just ignorant. I absolutely hate the gear grind mentality of other MMOs and that’s why I adore GWx.
I will never, ever go back to WoW, or Rift, or the like if that’s what you mean.
Lol. That video was enough to inspire me to roll an Asura war if for no other reason than to offset my Norn war. Sort of a balance the universe sort of thing.
As a Norn all I can say is that any self-respecting Norn would use an axe. Not some wimpy hatchet nor compensating-for-something great sword, but a TWO HANDED AXE OF TOTAL BAD ARSENESS.
Thank you. That is all.
Or a magical leprechaun took a golden poo on your motherboard.
I LOLed
In this game for me it does not even make sense to think of one of my characters as an “alt” and another as a “main”. I guess my “main” would be the one I like to play on the most. But given the nature of GWs as compared to other MMOs the distinction has little meaning for me. But then, I am not in any hurry to reach max level.
I’m thinking Yoda without the light sabre. But they are awesome to watch.

It is rather lame. But I get no sense of rectilinearity while running around.
