The thing is, this suggestion would be open to exploitation – as in, the point of having them is you earn what you got.
If I only had say, 18 Mastery points, the refund option would allow me to first of all, get Ley Line gliding masteries, get some content done, then without further effort, I can then fully max out another set, say Exhalted to defeat the champion or whatever, then without more effort, the Nuhoch champion, all with the same 18 Mastery points.
Whilst others have been earning the full amount of mastery points fair and square. to just getting the mastery points, but also earning the XP!
Well, in my opinion, it was too good a game to leave in the first place! But opinions vary as they say, so it’s up to yourself for you own gaming taste to decide.
I’d say pop on the game vanilla for a while before deciding. HoT is certainly worth buying if you like a bit more challenging content, and the continuation of the story.
End-game wise, in my opinion Guild Wars 2 always had end game – the trouble with it was the “fore-game” was short (as it is in HoT, like the story) so I think what I consider as end-game in GW2, others consider as not end-game. I’m a role-player though, so roleplay is my end-game for me personally, so my opinion can be taken with a pinch of salt to be honest for that part.
If you’re going for ANY game mode then really, think about who you want your character to be, to better fit your own personal play style (i.e. are they a fast shooting character, or a strong hammer wielder, or a mage-type person?) before picking what class fits best for that character.
No point picking a class you don’t like just because someone else says it’s the ‘strongest’ since really, especially in PvE, none of them are the ‘strongest’.
The issue hasn’t been resolved yet, and I’m yet to see a GM response.
If you want a GM response, you need to submit a ticket to appeal the decision by clicking the support tab above. If you’ve already done this, there is a waiting period of up to 72 hours, in which case you can post your ticket number for review at the sticky titled “Tickets for review (3 days or older)”.
A tip for a specific heart: When doing Training With The Company heart, grab a war horn from the Heart NPC, and use the summon birds on a rat from too far away. You’ll get ‘Out of Range’ on the rat, so it won’t die. But the renown heart bar will still fill.
And yes – kudos to Lyndis on that Weapon Swapping tip – it saves a lot of time!
If there are many dead NPCs in a renowned heart area, revive them only a little each if there are other players in the area. That way, you have a better chance of getting to them all.
Have you, or have you not, contacted the CS Team about this issue? Nothing less will garner you a possible positive outcome.
About 20 forum members have either suggested or asked this, and the OP is still tip-toeing around this issue! >.<
Honestly though, I think Personal Pony sounds a lot more offensive than Stalker lol, like “Hey, I’ll be your pony, baby….”
And I don’t consider stalker offensive at all, maybe you killed someone in pvp n they reported you?
This basically, a friend had two of his characters’ names changed because he upset a group of exploit farmers by completing an event properly. The day after dozens of threats of “mass reports” he was forced to change two of his characters’ names.
It seems clear that either Anet:
a) bow to community pressure and ignore their own rules
b) only follow their own rules sporadically, i.e some people get punished and others don’t
c) hold grudges against certain individuals or hold biasesOne of the above is true, if not all. Honestly, the way the game is policed is absolutely abysmal.
Except ArenaNet don’t make moderator decisions based on ‘mass reports’. They will act on a case by case basis, whether the user has been reported once, or 1,000 times. If someone’s name was against the rules, they would have been forced to change the name even if it was just one report.
That’s just what they say, though, isn’kitten Lots of people have had experiences that would indicate they do make decisions based on mass reports.
They also said recently (or rather “Proheals” did) that they would barely be changing anyone’s name now, no matter how offensive. Yet they changed the OP’s name which isn’t even remotely offensive. LOL!
And lots of people have had experiences where someone hasn’t been banned for such and such a thing, ‘despite many people reporting them’ – for example maize balm griefing, or ‘spamming map chat’ or placing Boxes O’ Fun in the bank etc.
And as I said in my original reply to the OP – it’s not just ‘offensive’ names that are against the ToS.
Just do more DPS.
The place the player is referring to is in a level 15-25 zone. This suggestion of yours might work for a level 80 character, but in most cases, people are there whilst levelling, so ‘just doing more DPS’ isn’t as easy as you think, and also probably isn’t the answer.

Doesn’t have to be offensive to be against the ToS. For example – naming your character after an NPC will usually warrant a forced name change. Also naming your character after illegal activities can warrant a name change (perhaps it came under this?).
Also, you would have to take it up with support themselves by submitting a ticket to appeal it. Nothing anyone in these forums can do to help you.
In the Wintersday jp the snowflakes fly too!
(and those are snowflakes big enough to stand on them)I have 1 jp with pumpkins that goes all long rocks around the whole GH
And then i have this jp with flying snowpiles that just leads to the ceiling of the mapI think you should just do it … it offers just sooooo much more room for the jp if you use the air (see my pictures)
unfortunately i hit the 1000 decorations limit while building this “stairway to heaven” … had to remove as many pumpkins as i could to finish it …
i really really hope Anet increases the number of decorations that can be placed in the GH to 2000 if that is possible
Is that Snowdremoth in your guild hall? o.o
If you’re having an issue with a stalker whom you’ve already blocked, you can submit a ticket to ArenaNet using the support link at the top of the page.
Include the username of the person harassing you, and times, locations and /ip servers of when and where the stalking took place if you can. A screenshot may help too.
Blocked in my opinion should mean the person should always see you as offline if they still have you on their friends list, and of course, hiding your location when ‘appearing offline’ to someone, but I guess it’ll never be 100% perfect anyway.
I’m really sorry that you’re being harassed and hope it stops soon.
but I have also seen people get destroyed by rng.
I think ‘getting destroyed’ is a bit of an over-exaggeration here. If you don’t get the 10 Mystic Clovers, you still walk away with a handful of rather valuable T6 items.
I’d probably do the 10 Clover thing early, as in, before you’ve already got all the T6 items you need. If you’ve already got the 2 Gifts, then I’d probably go for the 1 Clover technique.
Shock horror!
I actually like Tangled Depths too, once you get used to how the meta events work.
They kinda solved this with the shared inventory slots. Though you still got to remember to swap out. However, I think the reason they hold back on them being automatically replaced and duplicated on all characters is to prevent botting or something.
Don’t worry, they’ll fix it with tomorrow’s patch most likely.
and sent in multiple tickets and no answer.
Multiple tickets only delay your answer. If you’ve not received an answer after 72 hours, you can post your ticket number in the 3 Days sticky above, but don’t keep sending in tickets because you’ll put yourself back to the back of the queue.
72 hour suspension for foul language

I do not remember having anything said that would warrant a 3 day ban
The time of when you allegedly used said foul language isn’t necessarily around the same time you receive the ban. It could be something you’ve said a week ago, maybe longer.
That said, if you truly believe you’re innocent, as mentioned submit an appeal, since discussing or appealing a moderator/GM decision isn’t really allowed in the forums.
a-a-actually sir, id just like a nice metal chain jerkin.
You mean like this guy?
I can´t play with one of my characters

Have you tried guesting a different server? Maybe it’s a connection issue to the megaserver you’re in?
Finally an /age thread that’s not about precursor drop rates!
Holy crap at over 14,000 hours lol.
Well that’s the highest I’ve seen now.Ya 14k hours and I bet at least 1/3 to 1/2 are because he/she was logged on 24/7 in the beginning. People didn’t get the boot in the beginning for being afk plus for a long while auto run keeper you in the game too
I hope you didn’t put real money on this bet because you’re wrong! I actually only played about 4 hours a day when the game was first out. Now it’s like 12 hours, maybe 14 because I do a lot of roleplay on Piken Square, and I’m a stay at home carer.
Given that boss fights have been a mechanic since game release, surely if any of the things that are being suggested as an exploit here, would have actually been dealt with by ArenaNet if they considered them an exploit?
But I like buying new shinies off the Gem Store!!
As it currently sits, GW2 (I’m only discussing PvE here) allows a glass-cannon strategy. What I mean by that is that you can put all your optional attribute points into things that do damage. Against smaller mobs, you end up killing the enemy before it can kill you. Against larger mobs, the character begins to have problems.
Against bosses and very large mobs, though, glass-cannons become an exploit. The GC charges in, deals a large amount of damage, dies, and then waypoints and runs back to combat to repeat the process.
IMO, this is an exploit. Do you agree? Why or why not? Also, if you agree, what should be done about it?
NOTE: Please don’t argue whether this actually works or not. Most everybody’s mind is already made up on that; that’s quite obvious from many other threads. Please stick with the more philosophical question of whether it SHOULD work or not.
Waypoints cost money, so I don’t consider this tactic an exploit. Your suggestion sounds like the strategy of someone doing a Guild Bounty Hunt Mission to me. A strategy which many guilds, mostly smaller ones, would use.
It sounds like you wandered into a god statue AOE and got the debuff from it. Either that or you encountered a bug no one else has ever seen, in which case it should be reported.
there was a bug a long time ago with risen squires applying extremely long duration cripples so that wouldn’t be a bug no one else has ever seen :P
I would agree with you that could be a possibility, but this leaves me thinking it is one of the statues:
Condition removal?
You would think
There are so many complaints everywhere on the forums and yet minimal progress is experienced.
I have a fair idea that most people who are enjoying the game are busy in the game, enjoying it!
Jump pads in Harathi Hinterlands I came across with the same problem.
When you remake the exact same Revenant you just deleted, it’ll be a Revenant by name and nature.
Except, we are not doing those custom emotes. As it is the game is in dire need of more actual emotes. It’s a small thing but it can mean a lot.
You might not be doing them, but we in Piken Square certainly are!
Not sure why there’s a ‘dire’ need for them to be honest. An idle animation isn’t going to help us when we face Krakly!
/em facepalms at Coconuarmy.
You see, they didn’t give us animations, because there are only so many they can give us. Some people want /guitar, some people want /flex and so on. If they pandered to everyone, they wouldn’t have as much time creating new content!
But instead, they let us have custom emotes. Ideal for Roleplayers and great at expressing almost anything out-of-character too!
They definitely should have made it jam of the month club.
Yeah, I’ve been looking for someone to jam on my bass with for ages. :P
World completion just got easier. Working on my 16th character now after a three month break from it!
I clear out my block list every New Years Day, with the exception to the one or two people whom I actually remember why I blocked them. I think people deserve a second chance, but they can wait for up to a year in my books. >:P
I set nicknames to people I blockes so I acctually know why or where.
Oh yes, I used to do this too, until I got lazy! But I figured if I can’t remember why I block someone, then it couldn’t have been that bad so they get removed on New Year’s Day. If I remember what they did, it was bad, so I don’t need to change their nicks, just leave them to fester in my Block Bucket of Dhum

Don’t know what you’re talking about, since you originally mentioned letting more than one account share the same character name, I’ll put forward another problem:
What if someone trolling the real Thomas Baxendale, making homophobic or derogatory remarks towards people, took screenshots and deleted his or her character, then posted the images through several social media websites? Or sent said pictures to Thomas Baxendale’s friends saying “This is what he’s like when you’re offline”? How would right-clicking to find their account name solve that then?
Please.. just no. Let us keep things the way they are when it comes to character names. It’s the only fair way to do it – first come first served. Unless you’re permanently banned for cheating or being abusive, you shouldn’t lose or have to share your character name.
Anet should in my opinion finally alow it that a name can exist as many times as possible
No thank you – I don’t want another player going round chatting verbal abuse at people in map chat with the same name as one of my characters.
if anyone does this, you can instantly differentiate that person between you and your character with the indentical name with the help of your unique accountname/acckittennumber..
problem solved
NEXT!
Shouldnt be really so hard to understand how less of a problem at all it is to identify players through accountnames… it the god darn freakign first thign you even SEE, when you report someone /facepalm
When I chat to someone in map chat, I don’t want to right click their name to find out which player they REALLY are every time someone speaks. It’s not as simple as you think – we are not robots. We’re human beings.
If someone starts trolling map chat under one of my characters, they’re gunna see my character’s name. Two days later, the real me will be standing in DR being accused of trolling map chat. Why? Because people just don’t right click everybody’s name every two seconds to see who they are.
Also, if I want to chat to someone called Thomas Baxendale, I want to chat to Thomas Baxendale without having to check if the person is TBaxendale.1234 instead of TBaxendale.4567

I’m guessing supply has gone up, and demand has gone down. As time goes on, there’ll be more and more Level 40+ Guilds, so once they finish, the guildies think “Thank the Six we don’t need those anymore. We can farm and sell the sand now!”
It would be nice, yeah. An alternative I was shown recently was to use an API key and put it on http://gw2efficiency.com/ – but of course not everyone will want to have their characters displayed.
But there is a section there that shows your characters’ due birthdays. My next one is Robyn Swift for her third year.
I certainly wouldn’t like to log onto the game if I inadvertently couldn’t log on for a year, to find “Your character’s name must be changed” and to find someone else has it.
In before someone else does this meme:
If we can have warrior quaggan backpacks, why not a mini me?
I want this too!!
New to the Gem Store! A new backpack in the style of a cute Asura bride in her wedding dress!
Ok, so it’s not – it’s just my Asura, Spekka, who was sat down on a pedestal decoration, which got removed, and a Norn stood with his back to me, at just the right height to form a Spekka Backpack!!
Any chance of this coming to fruition though, ArenaNet?
Canthan whispers, eh?
Unfortunately, a vote to kick won’t solve anything for you anyway – mainly because the guild leader would have gotten their second vote from a friend in the guild anyway.
I’m sorry you put in time and effort into the guild you were kicked from, but your suggestion won’t solve anything. Most guild leaders will get the second vote they are looking for, and guild leaders might end up getting stuck with a guild stash thief they rightfully want to kick, but will be waiting for the second vote whilst the guild thief is still in the guild.
As a guild Co-Leader myself, I would never kick anyone just for saying our guild is casual.
Today I’ve encountered a troll using swiftness faucet on the spiral jumping puzzle in Caledon Forest. Annoying other people with random swiftness became way easier thanks to revenants, so please give us an option to block/disable buffs from other players.
Whereas I sympathise with you, it’s not actually a problem with the class or class mechanics – it’s a problem with the individual player.
that can’t be the problem. gw2 has the friendliest, most helpful, and best player base of any mmo.
if sumthing lik this can happen, it must be a game issue that needs resolving
I agree with you – we do have the friendliest community, which is why I said it’s a problem with individual players – i.e. the person who is trolling! The class and mechanic is still working as we want it to!
The video’s gone private now. I wonder why?
