As I’ve said in similar threads before, I don’t want someone from another server copying one of my character’s names, and spouting out verbal abuse to other people. And I don’t think , many other people want that either.

There are literally billions of combinations of names people can choose from. Usually, the people who want to have shared names are those who choose to mix names from other franchises, like wanting to call their character Ezio Lannister or Dante Naruto etc. instead of coming up with something original.

Yet about a month before HoT came out, I managed to pick easily a lore-friendly Asura name called Spekka. Didn’t need to call her Krewemaster Spekka, just Spekka. So I reserved the name and made her a revenant! There are still names out there, just a little imagination is all that’s needed.

I too believe the colour shouldn’t have been changed. I don’t mind the new symbol, but the blue colour for central Tyria was better. And perhaps, magenta instead of green for the Magus Falls maps.

Request: Instances for roleplayers

As someone from Piken Square who regularly RPs in the open PvE maps, I can honestly say we don’t really need this suggestion. I run an RP Mercenary guild, and most of our RP is done away from the cities, where events and mobs take place. Apart from the odd disruptive non-RPer, we suffer minimal disruption, and hardly any map chat confrontation.

An idea… Perhaps join a RP guild if you have not already or start your own. Then you can go to the guild hall to do your RP because it is like an instance. So in essence it would be the RP instance you are talking about. No mobs, no events to scale up, no non-RPers to harass you and so forth. Of course that does not address your other suggestions about message suppression and what not. Just an idea.

Not to sound too blunt, but your idea simply alienates Roleplayers away from most of the open world that Guild Wars 2 offers all players. Roleplayers want to RP in places where there are pubs, garrisons, fields, farms, caves etc. just as much as Non-RPers want to fight with them. On Piken Square at least, that’s pretty mush achieved anyway with minimal bickering from people who don’t understand roleplayers.

Before HoT was released, there was a tonne of threads asking for a hard mode for Guild Wars 2.

Yeah, you can post her ticket number for her so they can review it, but they’ll still want to speak to her alone. But yeah, it’s ok for you to say “My Friend’s ticket number is #12345678 can you look into this”

Then a dev will probably say something like “We’re looking into this now” or “We replied, have your friend check junk” or something.

The luck picture in the wiki is the same in the current hero window, just in the ‘Achievements’ panel, click ‘Summary’ and scroll down.

Luck still works the same as it’s stated in the wiki.

Unless you’re all trying to do World vs World stuff together, or some are EU and some are NA, then it shouldn’t make a difference what world they’re in. Just get them to party up with you and right-click ‘Join in..’ with you if they end up in a different megaserver.

Good day fellow Tyrians,

- I found that getting around the world was far too quick and far too easy, especially in the late-game.

Just because the waypoints are there doesn’t mean you have to use them. Sometimes I prefer running or walking to a far away location, especially during my guild’s RP nights. But let’s not be hasty and take away waypoints for people who do want to use them, eh?

It’d be especially a bummer for those of us who have multiple 100% characters if the waypoints we worked hard at getting were taken away!

Eh? This is news to me. I do PvE because I enjoy map completion and levelling alts. I play Guild Wars 2 to kill bad guys and dragon minions, not to increase integers.

The thing missed here is that the rewards overall are continuously compounding. The more MF you have the more rare the items you get, the more rare the items you get the more MF you produce from salvaging that item and it’s ectos as a result, the more you ectos you have produced the lower the price overall of MF and in the end there actually becomes an MF standard for playing because there is indeed a specific amount of MF, unkown to us, that allows you to reliably acquire items of sufficient rarity to continue the cycle.

It is basically economic suicide.

If you’re worried about the economy, just give me all your exotic and rare drops – I’ll find a good use for them. nods

When it comes to new POIs via living story, check to see if you have:

[Second Aetherblade Site] which is just south of [Broadhollow Waypoint] in Gendarran Fields.

[Tower of Nightmares] and [Thunderidge Camp] in Kessex Hills. Both around Viathan Lake.

[Tangleroot Outpost] south west of Brisban Wildlands. This is the entrance to Dry Top.

[Sanctum of Secrets] via [Dead End Cave] in Bloodtide Coast. (An often missed POI even before Living Story)

If you have these, then you need to double-check all the maps which you can do by hovering your mouse of the name of each zone, it’ll show you a pop-up of your map completion for each zone there.

Hi,

Today I decided to make a new Charr mesmer, the beautiful Misha Dreamseeker. I currently have the 5-slot Shared Inventory slot thing, and one of the slots is my Royal Terrace Pass. You can probably see where I’m going with this.

I was essentially able to be a Level 1 character in the open world, like Divinity’s Reach. When I return to Plains of Ashford manually, the story updates as if I’ve already defeated the Ghost of Barradin, even though I hadn’t.

At least this way there’s no way of the personal story being permanently broken, but it may cause concern for people who want to actually do the tutorial, and simply just accidentally clicked the wrong thing by mistake.

I don’t think this was intentional, and it’s probably not really a big issue, but I think it’s best to put this out there anyway. I have a feeling this is from the recent fix allowing use of the pass from instances and guild halls, as it never worked like this before.

You have hit the nail on the head, I removed said runes and my original colour returned.

Silly really and not sure why it does it but you have fixed my problem.

Yeah, I don’t use them myself but I know others have been confused with them before. A shame there isn’t an option to toggle on/off the effects of those.

I know it is something wrong with my character animation within game as others see me as bright yellow and others white.

Are you sure you don’t have one of those ghostly infusions that gives you +12 of each stat?

Hi,

Normally I have the option ‘Show All Player Names’ un-ticked to prevent on-screen clutter. However, party member’s names normally still show in blue text.

Since today’s patch though, party member’s names are hidden unless you select the party member now – but the health bar is still visible. I don’t mind if it went back to how it was before, or if party members were included in hidden names – but it looks weird showing a health bar without a name above it!

I’ve attached a picture.

As far as I’m aware, they still ban you if you use an auto-cast to remain AFK, especially if you have pets or minions killing for you and gaining loot from it.

There is a situation of this currently happening in Dredgehaunt Cliffs, where there are several necromancers stood near the Tribulation Waypoint, at all hours of the day, having several minions killing the dredge. One assumes they are using the Pact Mastery line to soak up the loot from the kills.

A few nights ago I reported these for botting via right-click, but I don’t know if anything can/should be done about it.

It’s always been in the naming policy that references to inappropriate bodily functions are against the rules when naming. Guilds and other character names with this particular bodily function have had to have a rename.

Character names get acted upon when other players report the name via right click. If other characters have that name, it’s because nobody has right-clicked and reported them for it, not because ArenaNet have suddenly started to allow it.

Come to think of it, maybe the inherent baked in cooperative nature of PvE maps is why they havent put in dueling. In PvE you give buffs to each other and your outgoing heals go to other players. Maybe that not possible to turn off on PvE maps, even if the other player is red to you. You could be fighting each other and giving each other buffs and heals while doing that. That’s not a situation that purist PvP players are going to like.

Just a possibility as to why it’s not easily possible to add dueling or PvP to PvE.

Does this thread count as ‘Dueling’ in the ‘GW2 Forum Drinking Game?’

Why are we using leaderboards as an example of looking at player population? Surely that doesn’t prove anything considering:

1) The majority of veteran players fall under the “90%” zone.
2) A rise in new players won’t show because they start off with 0AP.

When I play my female RP character to sit on a chair, I find /kneel is enough for me. Most chair’s there’s room for that if you get it just right (Though sometimes you’ll sit ‘horizontally’)

And an RPer, I let imagination do most of the work for me, which is a good thing. We don’t want everything spoon-fed into us. Same with emotes, I think the /em custom emote is fine as it is.

What about these Elder dragons Primordus and the Deep sea dragon? Have they not been awakened yet?

Primordus was the first to awaken, back in 1120 AE (The year is now 1329 AE). The Deep Sea Dragon is somewhere in the Undending Ocean.

Rather than invading the PvE zones (because they would no longer be PvE) I think what would be better is if we have some separate set of zones where home servers can invade each other.

Give them things like maybe, towers, castles and camps, and some sort of way of trying to keep these castles and towers and camps with weapons like catapults and arrow carts. Oh wait.. we have that!

Perhaps ArenaNet should think about making the timed maps exempt from the Mega-server closing system. Not just for a map where people want to succeed in the meta events, but also for people who have had been doing small events, like when I was doing the SCAR events in Tangled Depths, I get to halfway through them, when the volunteer pops up – meaning if I click yes, I lose my 160% or whatever progress. If I click no, I stand to end up on my own for some of the more difficult events.
