I’ve said I think the math behind the custom Glicko 2 system Anet uses is bad for months so not gonna reiterate all of it. But It needs to change and I believe Anet didn’t bother to test different calculations once they decided on no reset. They took the easy way out.

I respect TC players a lot more then other servers. At least TC players takes their deaths like champs and keep coming back! They don’t run constantly and avoid fights.

I strongly advise BG against feeling too comfortable with a Sunday/Monday night lead against a server where WM lives. They should remember what happened last time this occurred, when BG was fresh into T1.

Some of the new Kaineng troops (like CO, TL or Ph) can tell the story.

IMO – if the WM main force was not on this weekend, I can only congratulate the rest of Kaineng for their great performance. If WM does come back – things will change. If they decide to take a break or maybe leave GW2 alltogether (like they did with GW1 once) the match will be balanced.

Who says BG is comfortable? BG has been through pretty much everything in wvw. We kinda have an idea of what a 7 day war is lol. Thanks for your concern though.

It will never be changed as long as single thief can make that waypoint contested. Otherwise it makes the supply and coin costs of finally getting a waypoint pretty much pointless.

No one will be moving up to T1 for a long time (unless a T1 server tanks for weeks on end). The ratings are too far apart.

I was really disappointed in the reactions by the guests/devs in regards to the warrior question.

What is Anet thinking? Why not mark all of these kitten items NOT USABLE in WvW. Every week, there is a new item ppl are abusing in WvW and it takes Anet weeks to flag them as PvE only.

It isn’t just T8. With the inflated ratings of the current T1 servers, it will be impossible for a T2 server to move into T1 without massive blowouts week after week after week. The glicko system they use is a fail, has been a fail since game launch and when we finally thought they were going to fix it, they changed their mind at the last second.

Sticking by your decisions is not a good idea when the decisions aren’t good. I would rather people change their minds a lot so long as they are moving in the right direction.

They have probably finally realised what SoS have been dealing with the last couple of weeks. You can’t beat a server when they have 10x the players on the field during most the day. If it wasn’t for our strong oceanic presence that gap between 1st and 2nd would look silly.

I think JQ overestimated how many guilds they needed to bring in to keep the games interesting, now they are fat and bloated. The end result will drive pugs away in the other servers because they will be outnumbered and find getting stomped by the JQ zergs frustrating. Only EB will retain numbers.

As of now I would rather have a BG, SoR, SoS battle. A good match that would be close.

The other way of dealing with JQ is if SoR and SoS doubled team JQ all week. That could be interesting.

Yeah, BG/SoS/SoR would be an epic matchup.

Kind of a broad statement and not applicable since most of the server is still doing normal daily activities like working, school, gym, etc. It is 3:21 in the afternoon afterall.

No one said “only the weekend matters”, everyone knows the match is 7 days long, the victor has the most points at the end of the week. People seem to be pointing out the best of WvW matches are on the weekend, which is true.

Actually someone did, just a few posts above yours. They claimed the weekend proves who the better server is.

If we base an entire servers attitude on the post of one person, every single server is the worst server of all time.

Never based any servers attitude off a post, I was talking about individuals, I even said “people”, specifically in my original post who claimed the weekend is what matters and shows who the better server is. You see people say it all the time in different match up threads. Yeah it sucks to have a lead on the weekend and end up coming in third at the end of the week, it happens to every server at some point in time. I don’t recall you making any of those types of claims so my post would not be referring to you.

I’m coming to TC BL, are any of you TCers out there?

Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t SoR PvDooring all the way up to T1 when BG was no longer in T2?

Reality:

BG PvDoored against SoR uncontested for 2 months straight and still couldn’t get enough points to get to T1.

SoR spent two weeks actually having oceanic coverage to PvDoor with before moving up to T1.

JQ currently PvDoors certain time slots.

Edit: Nobody should get up tight about that, I am not saying anything is wrong with it… just that this is the reality of it.

That isn’t reality at all. Were you even a part of those matchups? IoJ was a part of those matchups for like 7 weeks and they had even better Oceanic coverage then BG so BG “uncontested” is a fabrication and revisionist history. Also if you realized how the ratings in t2 were and how the glicko worked you’d realize why it took BG awhile to move into T1. BG did it the proper way against 2 alive servers that were close in rating over a period of 2 months. We didn’t have the advantage of absorbing a t1 server and then leeching 260 glicko off of them over a period of 3 weeks. Luckily Anet reset the ratings after they saw how that kitten went down.
