HB WvWvW Highlights from Saturday June-22-2013
A night full of epic battles.

Once the night was over, HB had helped capped a T3 SM, helped save Blackgate garrison from TW / IRON, got to fight RG, and finally helped RK cap the 2 enemy Borderlands “Blackgate spawn” keeps that were both T3 and defended. The night ended with 3 hours of open field fights in Blackgate Borderlands. Here are some highlights. Thanks for all of the fights and special thanks to our allies on BG.

Meh, adding a ICD to leg specialist is just bad. That is one of our best tools.

I disagree, ICD doesn’t matter at all for Leg specialist before. All cripple skills have a longer cooldown than the ICD.

The ICD is there so that Hamstring(Placed in Third chain of auto-attack) won’t perma immobilize enemies.

Yes an ICD does matter before. Are you an experienced warrior? I can’t immob, then weapon swap and immob again. I can’t use bladetrail and immob twice. Maybe you don’t take advantage of that but many people do.

I agree with CollegeDowntime, warriors have some great trait they just require lvl 30 points to obtain which makes the overall stats go to waste! atm they lack not only dmg, but mobility, and defense. with that being said ofc you can create a warrior with absurd amount of dmg! but you will die in less that 15sec in Tournaments. so if you want a warrior who can afflict a fair amount of dmg you need to sacrifice your survivability. ( THIS IS NOT THE CASE WITH GUARDIANS! ) atm guardians does alot more dmg than warriors, with a HUGE amount of survivability, and thats even if the warrior goes full dps!!! what i think needs to be done is do make the physical Utility skills unblockable! yes you heard right, make them unblockable not undodgeable though! the only thing warriors are good for in Tpvp atm is knocking ppl down. And thats really not good at all! taking in consideration that ppl dodge block and blind you ALL the time AND they use Stability. If i had to Remake something about the warrior i would go back the how they used to be!!! ( not that they had unblockable physical utility skills :P ) btw nerf rangers "my pet can heal me underwater even though it’s dead bug ) and make the cd longer on thief’s evade attack underwater!!! for christ sake

Currently warriors have some of the most mobility and THE most damage in the entire game. Their CC is nothing to laugh about either. It’s also worth mentioning they have the highest base stats in the game with both the highest base armor and highest base health.

That said they suck. It’s just true. They are gods against terrible players who don’t know the difference between rush and bull’s rush, but the second you enter a high end tourney with both groups voip’d you’ll need an entire team built around your damage just to do anything.

Sure it’s kittening AWESOME when you go into a team fight and kill three dudes in under five seconds, but that’s just how warriors are. It’kitten or miss, you either hit a home run or you fall on your kitten .

Of all the balance patches that have occured I’m most worried about this one because it has the biggest chance of just being a major kitten show with warriors one shotting kids everywhere.. The only thing that gives me hope is boon hate.

Ostrich here’s the thing most non warrior players don’t understand (not saying you don’t know the warrior) people say we have the most movement skills, yet they don’t realize that hey are ALL (minus savage leap) completely Annihilated by cripple and chill and now this new condition.

My 40 second utility skill (Bull Rush) is completely shut down by some class’s auto attack (their sword spams cripple). Making us completely kited at ease. These skills are thrown into almost every weapon set and are ALWAYS present in fights.

Mesmers, and guardians have been ridiculous since the beginning of the game, it’s time for warriors to have some spotlight. Of course people are afraid of warriors getting buffed. It’s laughable that they said it is going to be a bad thing, when in Reality kitten that, they are just afraid to actually have to fight a warrior and not just get a free kill by spamming cripples and chills and drinking coffee.

Screw that we NEED our time to be feared by others. We don’t have invulnerable builds (engie bunker, no offense) we have 0 options ever since they have GUTTED us by destroying frenzy.

Everyone is afraid that they will actually have to fight a deadly warrior, you guys make me sick. We haven’t been feared since launch while Every other class (minus necros) have had their time to destroy.

Today I went afk and my tourney popped while I was on my warrior. I proceeded to signet, run straight to graveyard and killed 3 people in one hundred blades. I was running 20 0 20 0 30 with longbow/GS, defensive as hell and gives condi clear just in case the leaked notes are correct.

It’s not that I’m “afraid” of fighting a warrior, I’d be glad to see warriors come around again. It would be pretty refreshing. The only problem is that I’d prefer to not have them go from complete kitten to GODS with a few changes.

A warrior is a direct damage class, we don’t have viable condi builds. Warriors such as myself are understandably worried after seeing there is a new condi Torment which will make kiting a warrior even easier (it hurts us when we move and it is already ez mode to kite warriors before Torment) and now Weakness will hurt our damage which is our only saving grace.

As a warrior, once I’ve closed in on my enemy through all his roots, cripples, immob, stealths and teleports, ran through all the endless AoE fields which I can hardly circumvent saturating me in even more conditions (including the new torment probably) and finally manage to land some hits through aegis’, evades & protections – it should be obvious that I am going to need my crit rate decimating by weakness. Otherwise, we’re just going to remain OP and overplayed in tPvP.

Your writing style makes my head hurt. As for WvW, if all you do is run and press 1, you aren’t playing correctly. The skill of zerg fighting is knowing when to engage, how far to push, and having a plan to get back out. The best zergs are typically dominated by one guild who have a variety of supporting builds. They are actually quite coordinated with their skill and gear choices.

Yeah okay, that is a lot of pretty words to disguise the fact that zerging is pressing 1, spamming AoEs and CC and spamming necro wells/marks.

Guilds like TW, TWL Choo, IRON, TYSM have members that transfered parts of their guilds to JQ and been taking up spaces in WvW just to have Guild vs Guild. They are ruining the Que’s for those who actually care to WvW. I doubt anything will be done but I’d like to pass the info out to the rest of SoR and JQ in why you are having longer que times.

Pretty sure the 3200 gems I purchased to transfer over to JQ (and back) temporarily is perfectly acceptable to Anet.

Roughly $500 in gems for the lot of us to venture across.

I hope this newly revitalized BG gets matched up with SOR next week to see what type of coverage the fairweathers can bring you guys.

I hope we get matched up against SOR WITHOUT JQ. Its clear now that JQ without SOR isn’t close to BG score wise (most of the rating we have gained is from them, NOT from DB) because last week the scores were almost dead even, and now we are decimating them.

I think there will be a similar effect if we face SOR without JQ.

It’s hard for me to know to make of this to be honest, other than the possibility that SoR tends to focus BG more than JQ. That can’t be the whole story though. Still, if it’s not JQ, then who? I’m not so sure the end result would change with a different 3rd server. I would be pretty interested in seeing how SoR v BG v TC would play out though.

I think when it is BG/JQ/SoR BG get sandwiched time zone wise. Our strength vs JQ (EU and NA) got cancelled by SoR while our strength against SoR (SEA) got canceled by JQ. It would be interesting how the fight goes against SoR without JQ indeed:)

Actually, just for the record was mostly the other way around for various reasons JQ SEA would focus SoR more than BG. Especially with Waha and Indo keep challenging each other. We can make all kinds of assumptions but the truth is SoR beat BG for 5 weeks in a row fair and square without anybody’s help.

Actually for the record, that is completely untrue. Ask JQs SEA yourselves https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/wuv/matchups/Tier-1-JQ-BG-SoR-5-31/page/11#post2160480 they enjoyed fighting BG more and so focused us 99% of the time. The one time you got focused by JQ and BG during SEA we didn’t hear the end of it on the forums from SoR about how we 2’v1’d your garri.

Anyways, I’m not trying to argue over semantics here, but I wanted to point out that I don’t believe for one minute that SoR’s surge in score performance was all due to one factor. There was definitely a morale/motivation/fairweather effect, like there is for all servers.

When NA can spend 2-3-4-5 hours racking up PPT instead of trying to simply get back to even footing (which on some nights took the entire night if it happened at all), everything else you mentioned follows…..

We had one change to our server that occurred that made the difference between BG beating us by 60k and us beating BG by 60k ….and it wasn’t fair weather players. Those trickled in after the fact.

Um this glicko issue has been an issue for at least 6 months now and I’ve been calling it out as kitten for that long. SoR isn’t the first one to deal with losing rating by winning. You didn’t seem to care when it wasn’t effecting you, in fact you made fun of other servers for not “playing glicko correctly”. Learn to play glicko correctly.

They got a SEA guild from KN, XF or whatever. And now with HB making a comeback, they will have just as much EURO if not more EURO than SoR. BT and VK also finished transferring over.

It’s anyone’s game, BG definitely has the population edge over anyone else though.

HB is not “back” and definitely not enough to outnumber IRON. You don’t even play on BG, stop making claims about what EU coverage we have.

I don’t think BGs population disadvantage is as big as BG has been making it out to be in the past month(s). I’ve seen what BG has done this week with their numbers. They are a lot closer (if not even equal) to SoR than they would care to admit.

Perhaps it is the fact they are winning which pulls more of their fair-weather players into the matchup, I’m not sure. But the playerbase is there.

Yeah, let us use unbalanced matchups to make claims about servers populations! That makes total sense! And yes, lots of fair weather players out. But that is how WvW works.

I’m not looking at the score and making an assumption. I’m looking at the number of players you are putting into the BLs and EB. Hopefully those individuals don’t get so “discouraged” so easily in the future matchups when things aren’t going their way.
