I hate those kinds of videos that conveniently cut out right when things take a turn for the worse. I’ve got a lot of wipes and deaths on my YouTube channel. The way I see it, if you don’t acknowledge your failures how will you learn from your mistakes?

Guys, I’m pretty sure Dragonbrand has been out-PvFing us these last few pages. What with PYRO and D|ERP acting all sportsman-like after GvGs and whatnot. We need to step our game up. This isn’t #magswag, guys. This isn’t #magswag at all!

Fire has a 1.0 damage coefficient and can proc every 5 seconds. I’m inclined to say if you have a decent crit chance you should take it over Force.

I’ve seen this happen once before, I never understood what caused it though. Now that I know I’m gonna try to reproduce this as much as humanly possible.

Not a bad choice, but I think one of the following is more appropriate:

I pretty much recommend going all or nothing with Healing Power because it scales slowly. You need over 1k just to double the effect of regen.

Regen = 130 + (0.125 * Healing Power) per second

I have a full ascended (minus backpiece) Healing Power set for Deany and like I said it nets me around 2.4k HP when fully buffed, which puts my regen ticks between 400 and 450. I don’t run the build that often because it’s boring as hell but every time I do I can see the difference it makes.

I mean, 400 regen on a group of players, that’s nothing to scoff at. It’s like an extra heal for everyone every 12-15 seconds depending on the class, plus the banner buffs.

Just a theory, I haven’t done much GvG:

Full Healing Power gear and food, plus a stacked Sigil nets you around 2.4k Healing Power, which results in ~400 Regen per tick. Because the regen seems to cap around 30-40 seconds very quickly, you can usually get regen on a large group with just one or two banners. Plus since the fight takes place in a small area, you should be able to stay in range of them at all times. Just throw them down before the charge and make sure they are all brought into the fight by your guildies.

Run Tactics and Discipline for increased Crit Damage and Boon Duration.

Run a Hammer for Control (damage isn’t too important) and Sword/Warhorn for Boon Converting.

I think having one Warrior run it in a GvG would make a significant difference. More than having a generic damage Warrior, imo.

If you need a ringer to run the build for you, I’m your ’guumie.

– Small Teams: Smaller guilds and groups are also welcome on Maguuma. Players who enjoy creating havoc squads will be quite comfortable supporting and being supported by larger guild groups.

– Persistent Players: Maguuma prides itself in our fighting spirit. If you have no problem joining WvW even in the face of a 600+ PPT enemy, you definitely have what it takes to be a Maguumie.

– Humor: Maguuma doesn’t take itself seriously at all. I mean, really, do you guys seriously think that #magswag is real? Hah! . . . . . . Okay, Maguumies, they’re not reading anymore, don’t listen to what I said, #magswag is totally real. Those nerds are just jelly.

– Drunkards: Saturday night. WvW drinking games. Do it.

What we don’t need
- NA prime timers: Seriously, we have enough now. We don’t want to become another kittenstain bandwagon server like some of the teams we get matched up with.

It’s just that a few sore losers on forums always give Maguuma a bad name. They don’t represent Maguuma, the server.

Maguuma has always taken pride in our chest-pounding and forum warrior-ing. We don’t care about PPT, we don’t care about keeps, we just care about that #magswag.

Axe/Axe doesn’t really have a good place in any setup right now, but Axe/Shield does pretty well in PvP and WvW situations. Axe/Mace is the highest sustained DPS weapon set available if I remember correctly. And it’s also pretty good for PvP and WvW.

Greatsword is a Warrior staple that has a place in every game type.

Hammer is best used for PvP and WvW situations.

Longbow fills a very unique role in each game type. Condi Longbow has been creeping into the Warrior meta for PvP. I personally swear by Berserker Longbow for PvE and WvW right now.

Warriors who focus on crits lack survivability; those of us built for survival do just fine, thanks.

I focus on damage output in group play and I survive and contribute just fine. Even in my full Berserker setups I’m on the front-lines. You play it like a guerrilla fighter. Push the front lines, blow some people up, pull back for a sec, heal up, go back in.

I understand that full Berserker gets a bad rep all the time because of people assuming bigger numbers = better without understanding their class, but I’m not one of those people. I’ve got several months of WvW videos to prove it, too.

That being said, Beserker isn’t the only thing I run. Just the primary thing. I’ll run a standard defensive set if I’m specficially going for a damage-soaking Hammer build or a Healing set for a Banner Regen Warrior. But more often than not I’m running a guerrilla Berserker fighter. Longbow/Greatsword or Longbow/Hammer.

Warrior lacks sustained survivability even with gear, so why waste stats? Utilize your burst survivability and mobility instead of trying to be the tank ANet claims you can be.

What do you run?

It certainly made things more fun for a chunk of the tiers, but three of us got thrown right into really unbalanced matchups.

We ran into PYRO and Agg’s GvG while doing stupid stuff on the Borderlands with 5 thieves. We watched but continued to do stupid stuff.

Full Berserker gear with either Rubies or Hoelbrak runes. Or a mix of the two.

While I have 5 other armor sets I could be using I find the damage-to-survivability trade-off is too unbalanced to warrant anything else. If I need survivability I will run Defense traits and food or trade a few accessories.

I feel the same way, OP. I have several level 80 characters now, all fully geared, yet I still come back to my Warrior every night. I know I’m not as effective as other classes but yet I keep trying to break down that wall with my face.

So has anyone used or been affected by a trap yet? I’ve not seen a single one used in WvW on either side but I still hear a lot of people on my realm complaining about how OP they are and how thieves are no longer viable (as they 3v1 people in ruins.)

On a more serious note, I will point out that Maguuma does seems to have an incredibly fast response time, especially for defending keeps. This is likely something we as a whole do need to work on, and this is probably one of those things we missed when we rose to T2. Though it is frustrating to go for a keep and find ppl shooting you with ACs 30 sec later.

The Maguuma commanders communicate VERY well. Even when they run private guild WvW events they still use their own private VoIP channels to communicate battleground activities. It’s hard to pull the wool over our eyes.

Actually, this explains my answer: If it hits without aid of third party tools, it’s legimiate. I’m also of the opinion that triple-spanned monitors are okay, but I don’t know anyone on this server who uses either. I have three monitors but I don’t use the spanning because I like using the others for web browsing/videos and teamspeak.

Yaks or Kaineng or whoever it was took out our ACs from that cliffside and we let them do it because we’re terrible at video games. That AC above me couldn’t hit them. All those loot bags were just from me taking pot-shots with a longbow.

Here are my beefs with Warrior Traits:

Reckless Dodge – Damage foes at the end of a dodge roll.
– Can trigger sigil cooldowns and keep you in combat when you don’t want to.

Stick and Move – Get a damage bonus when endurance is not full.
– 3% damage bonus. Woo-hoo!

Short Temper – Gain 3 stacks of might for 5 seconds and 1 strike of adrenaline each time you are blocked.
– Appears to have an ICD? If the stacks lasted 10-20 seconds it’d be okay.

Powerful Banners – Banners do damage when summoned.
– Does about as much damage as a single auto-attack. Make it knockback and maybe it’d be more worthwhile.

Distracting Strikes – Apply confusion when you interrupt a foe.
– 3 stacks for 5 seconds.

Furious Speed – 10% chance to gain swiftness (3s) on critical hits.
– Too short of a duration or too low of a proc chance. Not a reliable source for Swiftness and completely crap compared to other tier 1 Arms traits.

Opportunist – Gain fury when you immobilize a target.
– 3 seconds of Fury, but no ICD. Maybe make it 5 seconds?

Last Chance – Gain quickness for 4 seconds when you strike a foe with less than 25% health (90-second cooldown).
– Way too long of a cooldown for something that tends to proc at useless times.

Sure-Footed – Increases stance duration by 25%.
– Stances don’t last long enough for this to have any significant impact.

Vigorous Return – Increases health on rally.
– lol

(All Tactics minor traits.)
– Wow, reviving bonuses. Neat.

Stronger Bowstrings – Increases longbow range.
– Actually reduces your longbow attack power, but has the added bonus of making your 1 and 2 100% projectile finishers.

Burning Arrows – Longbow damage is increased by 10% against burning foes.
– Burning doesn’t last long at all and longbow projectiles travel slowly.

Versatile Power – Gain might for 10 seconds on weapon swap.
– Only grants one stack. Maybe make it 3?

Warrior’s Sprint – Run faster while wielding melee weapons.
– 10% speed increase that doesn’t stack with anything. Not worth it at all.

Mobile Strikes – Movement skills break immobilize.
– Doesn’t work half the time. Adding a 1 second immunity to Immobilize after you bust out would be sweet.

Destruction of the Empowered – Deal 3% bonus damage per boon on your target.
– Much too out of the way to be worthwhile unless your build already relies on the Discipline tree. Completely negated by Protection.

The only drama on Maguuma for the past two-three months has been exclusive to the WaR guild. All the chest-pounding on the forums doesn’t exist in-game because we Maguumies like to stir up trouble with the other servers.
