Mesmers who think its bad due to 3 clones, try having 6 pets, 1 more that can spawn when you kill something and Ogre runes.
A possibility of 7-8 pets at once plus myself. They could just press C&D at any point and go into stealth. XD
(no comment on C&D nor MM, I say all is fair game) just saying, it’s worse on Mm. :P

I think it was good. I find that it adds play. Do I stack and take the risk of both being cleansed or separate them so that if one gets cleared I still have one?
Personally, I think it’s a bit of a L2P issue, I think it adds some flavor to combat. Now, I don’t REALLY think it should stack more than say… 6-8 seconds at a time, but you should really have enough condi removal to cover that and clear immobs faster before they get too covered up.

It’s good because at first it was hard playing MM, requiring tears to summon the dead, but now that I’m flooded with tiers, the undead are practically growing like weeds!

Downed state doesn’t create good plays. It ruins good plays. 1v2 and 1v3s that SHOULD have happened get totally negated because there’s too much strength in numbers.
Those plays are way more, or WOULD be way more valuable than these “super great plays” where 3 people were on the ground, but 1 guy on your team dies and gets stealth stomped so the whole enemy team pops up. That’s not “great plays”, and entire team of losers just got carried by a lame mechanic.

Exactly. Tone down Zerker damage scaling, bump their defenses, nerf bunker defenses and bump their damage, bring the stuff closer to the middle and we’re on a good track to a game that isn’t 2 shots versus the immortals.

Downed state ruined this game. People claim it “adds team play” but it doesn’t. What it really does is:
- Allows people to go full glass and try to lulburst everyone so they can scream in vent for raises when they die, and complain about “tank meta” because people can build proper builds that deal some damage and can survive, rather than try to faceroll zerker like 2 shotting people is skill or something.
- On the same token, promotes carrying people.
- Diminishes the value of support, REAL team play, because working hard to keep your buddies up isn’t as easy as bursting down a guy and rezzing your whole team with a stealth stomp.
- Ruined PvE because support nor any other role has a purpose, more zerker spam, and every boss has to have sheer 1 shot mechanics just to ensure anyone can die because otherwise it’d be too easy when you can pick anyone up who falls down. So rather than play support and make sure your team doesn’t lose, you just try to kill everything in 30 seconds and continuously pick eachother up.
That’s the basics anyways… PvE and PvP in this game could have been so much better, and people could have had real roles, but nope. It turned into Zerker smash everything, add condition spammers and “Bunkers” in pvp, who do absolutely nothing combat related other than live for ever and are pro carriers.

With all this immob stacking going around, and omni-directional skills being nerfed, I think we should be able to turn when immob.
It seems slightly unfair that classes with evade skills can spam away while immob, but classes that rely on uni-directional skills for defense get the shaft.

You’re only good if you’re good at taking a beating and play builds that purposefully suck just so you can be “PvP ethical”.

Lol, nah. It should be something like: “The Flaccid One” – that way it can have an easily understandable power gain, when it you power it up with legendary components.
I thought this was all about pvpers getting screwed? Pretty sure in that case “The Head” comes before “The Shaft”.

It’s not that gw2 is too “complicated” to be e-sports, but there are too many variables that are generally unknown, hidden, and unpredictable (for both the user and receiver) to be e-sports which does tend to stem from traits and runes (more so than general stats).
Things like:
- Too many evades
- too much AI
- Too much reward for spamming
- sheer power of conditions without needing additional stats
- too many condition clears causing conditions to go from super over powered to useless solely on group composition
- stacking conditions to be shared amongst players thus more than one condi player together can end up stepping on one another’s feet where power doesn’t have that (would be like adding a max 10% damage from power attacks per second cap)
- thief initiative system differing so much from the other 7 classes which rely on CDs
- proc rates
- Sheer amount of not visible ICDs on long cool down traits (30+ seconds)
- lack of game modes worth considering “e-sport” worthy
These items are what stop e-sports. Not depth and complexity, but more the execution of depth/complexity that leads to too much nonsense and unknown factors.

I play pretty different.
Movement:
- I keep right click down, and move by holding left and right mouse buttons down.
- jump with space.
- dodge roll with my side-mouse button.
- key kind strafe left/right to mouse buttons.
Attack:
I attack with 1-5
F1-4 for class specific
Heal and utilities are QWERT.
Tab for tabtargetting.
I do pretty well and don’t stumble over anythig.

Just wanted to say, welcome to f2p models with a gem→gold system. You didn’t think it affected your game? Well, there you go…

Typically I open with:
Haunt (Shadow fiend active)+ Rigor mortis (Bone fiend active). They both have a small delay. Then use staff 5 immediately after to get them off balance while those 2 pet abilities land, so they should be blinded and immobilized for a good time (2.5×2=5 sec immob)
Lay a Chillblains on them for poisons and chill.
Swap to dagger and use warhorn4 for the daze effectively stunning the enemy by dazing them in a root, and use dagger 3 while they’re unable to react to extend the root.
Use war horn 5 and dagger 1 for some life force.
As they start regaining control use charge to knock them down. If they try to heal quickly tap into DS, use #2 and 3 to fear them, which allows dark path to easily land for a chill and bleed. Use DS 5 for the delayed immobilize and drop out.
Use haunt in CD and same with other ccs, and just be aggressive with dagger attacks and swarming the enemy.

I was trying to give them what they asked… I was top 10 NA tpvp and only played MM to tether there, and because of the incoming nerf to Lyssa, MM will certainly be a “safer” start out for a BRAND new person. They just need to learn how to combo a few ccs and to at least “pretty good”.

I could go either way. It’s no less toxic than Dire in many cases. My opinion is that conditions need to be reworked to be able to crit so that condition damage alone isn’t so powerful and reduce the scaling on just raw condition damage. This way condition damage would be more comparable to soldiers without crit/crit damage. Then we wouldn’t have this problem and dire/settlers would just be a normal option. I’d prefer that than a straight removal.

should just give them a title. a finisher means work and anet’s not doin any more work for this patch. a title is just text. easy. everyone should get a title based on what rank they were when the patch is implemented and the previous rank titles as well.

He probably can’t see the master because he doesn’t know how to turn off minion name plates (see below) and asura hiding, which is an entirely different issue. You know the magic rule. Fear what you don’t understand.

In our defense… (Except for phantasms) we have to do quite a bit of control to allow let uptime. That’s what makes mm fun for me. It’s like being personally pretty weak, lack of passive defenses, but we’re swinging a giant wrecking ball of minions which are at a loss without me. I control my enemy so my pets can be useful. Its a fun and unique dynamic. Unfortunately people are too narrow minded to understand that. Must spam moar Aoe, stability and 1111111111 with zerker to be considered skillful. -rolls eyes-

I have solutions!
Make spirits orbs/small floaters that stick to the ranger. No more ai, no clutter, easier on the ranger, less Aoe cap hitting.
Guardian Spirits – turn into spirit buff. Sword has a 1 second icd, lasts 30 second (acts like a wind fury), when you hit, a sword spawns slashing and vanishing dealing extra damage when you hit. (This can cleave)
Spirit shield is a buff, creates a visual of a spirit shield over the guardian. Grants aegis to guardian and 4 nearby allies every 20 seconds and lasts 40 seconds (give aegis on cast too). When hit, you gain 2 seconds of protection with a 6 second icd.
Something similar, non ai based for bow and hammer.
Minions could (though this would be vastly different) turn into haunts. Cast on an enemy and they last 20 seconds and have 20 second CDs. They haunt the target causing the associated ghost to attack every 4 seconds that spawns at the enemy haunted, attacks then vanishes. You can evade haunt attacks and they cleave. Pressing the skill again detonates the haunt, consuming it for an additional effect. (Haunt caste are not evadable, though the ghosts are) They also do slightly less damage to make up for the cleave and lack of ai issues. No more Aoe absorbing, less clutter, etc.

I played top 25 (was 7 at one point) and I could only play durring peak hours. I never fought anyone who wasn’t at least top 500, most of the people I knew, and we didn’t have to deal with 4v5s. Mid tiers? Sure you’ll have that.

Maybe you’re rallying for the wrong thing? Be more productive. Let them make the game better, and ask for more titles and achievements based on tourney wins, rather than an arbitrary number that already doesn’t say much because of how many people have cheated the system. You can’t cheat tourney wins (for the most part). Sounds like a better goal to show off than ranks…

Even if leaderboards are wonky, top 25 tpvp (not yolo) means a hell of a lot more than ranks…. Ranks just mean you played a lot. But if you’re rank 70+ and not placing well, chances are you don’t deserve a flashy emote, and that time spent could have been better spent doing something else because you haven’t been getting better with allll that time spent. That’s how I feel about it… Especially considering the stream of tricks people have used to get ranks over the past year and a half… No one’s jumping off sky hammer and making it to top 25 tpvp. Sure, if you’re good it doesn’t take as long to get, because someone has to fill those slots, but it still means more. Maybe a good goal is to see how many weeks/months your team can hold #1 team? Surely that says more than how many months you can zzzz through hotjoins and mindless matches, plus all the other tricks.

As was quite vocally expressed for a long time until people just started to assume it’d never change. If you want longer goals than what is realistic, make up your own like 10k tourny wins or something.

It’s not like rank 55+ players (outside of Skyhammer) didn’t put in TONS of kitten time as it is… Except Skyhammer farmers, but guess what? No alternative would have changed the fact that they gained all those ranks. That’s an entirely different issue all together.
