We aren’t second-class citizens. I know it kind of seems that way right now, but big things are coming that we just can’t talk about. We’re still cranking, trust me!

Isn’t this always the ANet excuse? “Yeah, we have big things coming up- but we can’t talk about them lol!1!!1!”. Then we find out that those “big things” are amazing changes like an entire 8% nerf to Healing Signet, if they even exist at all.

We’ve had enough of this nonsense, we want answers, not these ridiculously vague comments.

HS will be nerfed by 8%………………

But Active will heal for 6,000 and give stability, protection and regen for 5 seconds.

Well don’t let this die guys, neither this thread nor the necro forums have gotten a response to this, so Anet is either ignoring it or hasn’t seen it yet. I’m hoping for the latter.

Well the title was in all caps, and more rage-filled, so SOMEONE has seen it. :P

In about 2 hours I’ll update it and add some more info and make it neater. Maybe they’ll take it more seriously. TBH it just gets exhausting writing several page papers for these guys and having them be ignored. Doesn’t feel worth it anymore. But for old-times sake, I will when I get back.

My question is, why are they calling the zodiac armor their most “daring” they’ve created to date? :/

Because they think that everything they do is revolutionary. I think the new armor looks like crap and once again, won’t buy it. It really is starting to irritate me how 90% of patch notes are nothing but gem store bull——.

Maybe once they start adding armor sets to the, idk, actual game, I will be a little more receptive.

This is why I prefer Sub games. The stuff you end up wanting is generally found in the kitten game when you pay up front. Wish people saw this, f2p games are incredibly not fun because they design around trying to be people to buy stuff.

IMO they should have a global 8 second swap and make quick hands 6 seconds. 10 sec is too long/annoying of a swap time anyways.

Yeah this ‘started’ with the update at the beginning of the month (not that it hasn’t been going on since beta).

Why are all my minions ground type? There are flying monsters in game and they don’t have problems with pathing. Just copy and paste some enemy AI/pathing code into the minions please.

They seem to have an issue with their version control system or at least someone keeps playing around with things that shouldn’t be in the update, forget about it while working on things that should, and then we get an inventory that gets bigger (why were they playing with that?) and minions that can’t find an enemy…

I would rather have flying minions that don’t have a problem with pathing than minions that can’t find an enemy because of an issue that doesn’t affect ANYTHING else in the game.

Yeah let them cross terrain gaps too. Make them find a new point within x range and “leap” to it. Freaking… omg I lose my mind watching them try to get to me for 30 seconds after I head to middle in Skyhammer…. Over a kitten tiny gap.

8/10. Very nice looking and good color scheme, but doesn’t feel very necro like, I’d think it was a mesmer off the top of my head without the skills :/

7/10. I honestly really like it, though it is pretty plain, just a common set/legendary. Main gripe is that the details could stick out more, would look nicer. The redeeming factor is it plays well with the face and overall feel. So its good, just a little obvious

there was huge thread by lordrosiky on this. no dev response. i hope there will be drop-in ladt minute war nerf in the patch. signet nerf is nthing, pin down, okay, offers some intelligent counter for kiting. but overall, war will be top tier of health, toughness, healing, damage and control (top, or one of the top in each category), that is – crazy op.

Play a warrior in arenas and you’ll understand why they need to be tough and have a sturdy body.

Take away their damage? They become guardian copies. Take away their tankiness? They become thieves.

Warriors can swap every 5 secs. Engineers can swap every second. Still confused.

i think imba is from say engi has at most two slots. say he uses 2 onswap sigils each with 10sec cd. then he can swap every sec, but only procs both (2) every 10sec.

while war has 4 sigils with 10sec cd. he swaps on on 5sec, procs 2, swaps on 10sec, procs ANOTHER 2, so war gets 4procs/10sec, while engi/ele get 2procs/10sec. its because the are limited at best to 2sigs, which have 10sec cd.

This, they can quickly utilize/double the effect of sigils by using 4 UNIQUE sigils because of quick swapping with different sigils on off-sets.

Some skins were always supposed to be grindy. It was just stats that they promised would never require a grind.

(And then they added ascended stuff, so everything can be grindy now! In fact, a few months before release they listed a lot of things they thought were bad in other MMOs and all those things got added to the game within a year. Oops.)

They already had a good system. you got cool kitten for participating in the living event and putting the effort in the meta. I stopped doing LS all together since they stopped rewarding it. I’m a PvPer, it was the only ounce of PVE I could handle because at least then I had something for my PVP toons.

This game doesn’t need more grinding. It was fine as it was… 2-3 days of several hours should be enough per 2 week LS. that’d be like an hour a day maybe a bit less. This isn’t supposed to be a grindy game… It was fine how it was…

It used to be like almost every living story had some cool back piece, head armor, some sort of skin that was worth doing it for (for people other than lore/achievement chasers). Now every single time it has been like a bag of supplies or some gold… What happened to the cool stuff…? It’s been a while now. I hope this isn’t going to be an ongoing trend. :S

Most sigils will still have their same internal cooldown(all on swaps will). So technically it’s not double efficiency for warriors however, it depends how you look at it I suppose.

Rangers have some cool things coming too! Much needed power ranger lub! It’ll be all positive reactions right?!!

Hopefully this is enough to hold you over for now. I won’t be here for much longer but I know you guys deserve more communication regarding this patch so I’m doing what I can where I can. Pay attention to the forums in the near future as well as Ready Up episodes to find out as much as you can. Submit those user clips! Lets see your skills.

If they use 2 different ones they do get an added bonus.
Say you swap, trigger the first on swap. It’s used, 10 second cd.
Swap at 5 seconds, a new on-swap gets triggered. 5 seconds has passed on the first.
5 seconds later, swap again. The first is up again and triggered. Etc.
Warrior gets 2x the effect when using Fire/Doom+Air/Energy for instance than someone with a 10 second swap. This works…. similarly with on-crit/hit sigils too. If they ran Air+on swap, and fire/onswap, they could have both on-swaps rolling and both on-crits on CD at the same time with only a 5 second swap-cd, where as someone waiting 10 seconds to swap has to wait the full 5 seconds to get another on-hit/crit proc because they can’t swap to both within each 5 second window.

Chill effects cooldowns of skills and eles “weapon swap mechanic” are essentially 4 skills.
So i am pretty sure it is intentional.

And by the way that is not the reason that eles are more likely to lose a fight then other professions…

Attunements are basically weapon swaps… It absolutely shouldn’t affect them… I don’t even play Ele at ALL. It’s a no brainer.

Just because I’m 100% certain ANet cant read anything that is a bug for necromancer, I put it in caps. Minions are randomly not attacking and attack too slow. You fixed precious mesmers within a day, fix Minions now, please? >_>:

And while you’re fixing their ability to not randomly drop combat and stand around like idiots, fix moa from killing them all. Would appreciate it. Bug has only been around since release now.

So in my experience it happens most often when your pets are out of melee range before you engage your target. So if you run past your target a bit then turn back around and start attacking it appears less likely to occur.

This also seems to be triggered if an enemy immobilizes you prior to you engaging the target with your pets in range of the enemy. Even if the minions do eventually attempt to engage a lot of them will get stuck on or in the terrain. They do not intelligently path to the target and even kiting the mobs back to your pack of pets does not correct the issues. It is particularly noticeable in s/t pvp as a lot of the capture points are on hill tops (Khylo / Foefire for example).

EDIT – note that this can completely break minion master builds as when the pets do not engage they will not pull conditions from you and will not heal you from the siphon effect and most of your damage in this build is coming from minions in most cases.

I can confirm they become statues when you engage combat when they are trailing too far behind.

I wouldn’t say its a vocal minority. It’s the vocal experienced who know/understands ideas that they aren’t able to physically see (aka able to use their brain). This game would have done better with a trinity than the hack and slash dps singularity that the game is now. They didn’t have to follow the typical trinity. They had their own trinity laid out for them but they abandoned it. Instead of tank healer dps they had:
DPS – Damage dealing, control/interripts.
Enfeebling/Utility – Conditions, conditional control, utility debuffs.
Support – Boons, aoe healing, etc.

They had this, and it would have been amazing if they made these roles matter, and have “hardmodes” that required each role to be filled to be executed. Instead they took the lazy way out because admittedly it’s not easy to make sure every roles feels their use. Making all dps the best route is DEFINITELY easier.

What did they do? Meh you can do it all! NP! Need “support”? Here stack yourself up to 25 might yourself, so people who actually dedicate themselves as support are useless. Everyone has conditions tied to their attacks, so most dps can bring all the utility needed to win fights. Just dps dps dps, the rest is covered lazily.

PvP? Burst condi damage/power damage or play a build that is completely useless but really good at night dying when rolling around inside of a circle. Afterall you don’t have to kill anyone in pvp, just have better knockbacks and not die.

Good game design, fanboys.

If all glass can gank a point effectively (hint, warriors and thieves are also the best at this too, go figure) the faster ones are more valuable… Mobility has a HUGE benefit in this game over any of the other “aspects” that different classes bring. Mobility can cap points faster, rotate better, get to the enemy to stop them from stealing or finalizing a cap, flee losing fights (thus not taking the 5 point penalty), do side objectives better with less risk of leaving a point unguarded longer, or can get back faster if they are needed. Mobility isn’t just a “perk” in this game, speed means just about everything…

Yes to all of your questions its ridiculous when I’m in the middle of a big fight and my minions just sort of stand there and look pretty. Really necromancers do not need to be nerfed at all compared to warriors. The “nerf” they did to warriors hammer did next to nothing and their healing signet still needs to be fixed it’s ridiculous. Compared to warriors necros already are kittens.

Yeah. I noticed. I decided I’m going to quit the moment the title got changed and no one said anything. The balance team is a joke. Warriors #1 class across the kittening GAME, -8% on healing signet.

MM terrible in most parts of the game, one of the top say 75% 1v1 builds, gets: 5% off of Training of the Master, 10% off of Vampiric Master, unblockable nerfed… No fix on Moa deaths, and now they break us more. Good freaking game. Not worth my time or money anymore because they are biased as HELL when it comes to classes. No one could possibly convince me otherwise. Necros get kitten on time and time again, and they can because they’re not popular enough of a class amongst neither the devs or the player base.

Mobility is one of the ultimate expressions of skilled play. Nerfing mobility is a serious nerf to skilled play.

Also, thieves can’t teleport across maps in seconds. Nice try though.

I disagree. Several classes having obvious out-maneuvering abilities such as teleports and leaps that not ALL classes have (IE Necromancer and to a lesser extent, Guardian) mobility is not skill, its a way to cheese yourself out of a fight or get picked over other classes because others are too slow to be as effective. That isn’t a skill issue. It’s a design issue.

Yeaah, yes to all of the above… Clones die and are semi useless against thieves and they Hotfix it. Minions stop attacking versus ANYONE randomly and moa completely screws them, not even an answer…. >:(
Good point. Fix the utility lag too… Why the hell are they wanting to nerf necromancers when we’re already being kittened enough as it is. :/

LMFAO. Dude they don’t give 2 flying kittens about necromancer, let alone MM. They’re nerfing us so we won’t even be good in 1v1 so we can just reroll something else or quit. I’ve been asking for MOA killing them to be fixed for a year now… They don’t care – at all-

That’s the cost of playing passive AI builds. Working as intended.

It’s clearly not working as intended, it’s a bug. If necromancers had a skill that instantly vaporized all mesmer clones, there would be an uproar from the community.

Nope. I’d be fine with Moa Morph destroying my illusions if used on me. It’s a skill that can be blocked, dodged, and has a 180 second cooldown.

Say the class with vigor and blocking.

And a class that can summon their illusions IN STEALTH without it breaking. And they only need to summon 2-3 phants to be effective, and each phantasm is FAR more effective per unit than each individual minion we have to summon (all 5 that are weaker individually). Totaling 7.5 seconds of just summoning time we have to waste while we get beat in the face, because we can’t hide behind distort and stealth. (Nor DS mind you. Can’t summon in death shroud!) All of this is AFTER 10 seconds of being beat in the face while turned into a chicken AND waiting out cooldowns.

And honestly it wouldn’t peeve me so much if in order to play a minion master you didn’t have to fully dump points into minions to make them worth having (in pvp at least). So when they’re all dead you’re basically a traitless necromancer. There’s really no need for this hard of a counter. Moa effectively takes a minion master out of the game for about 30 seconds before they can start making any real recovery… 30… seconds. In a game that seems to push for making 5-15 second kills.

i got to top 10 team pvp with MM, and I used 20/0/20/30/0 Dagger/Warhorn+Staff AND used blood fiend. Just roam with a spirit ranger and do a 1/2/2 split with a guardian+thief or hambow in middle, you will win stuff. :P

I’m not – both of those are GOOD suggestions.

While, yes, it could be a cool mechanic that makes sense, even… I doubt we’d get away with this. The tears would put out the fire and delude the blood.

My main is a Mesmer, hell I’ve really only played Mesmer since Beta as I love the class so much. Yet, I’m a strong advocate for fixing this… putting an elite on someone that kills of all their pets can only be a bug and needs to be fixed.

Necro’s rely – much like Mesmers – in many ways for clones/pets/illusions/whatever you want to call them for damage, utility and support. Suddenly removing that with the press of one button cannot be right. It’s the same when the recent bug caused all illusions to self-destruct with a Mesmer when the opponent went into stealth and our illusions lost their targets.

Mid-cast I don’t believe it’ll do anything. Fairly certain its on skill use/activation, not per animation or damage source dealt.

Why do people tend to forget.
A. It’s a bug.
B. Necros have the absolute worst amount of blocks/evades etc and have to be VERY sparing to not waste any, so we can’t just random dodge Moa “easily”.
C. In relation to B, Mesmers can stealth for 3-4 seconds at a time? You can easily vary up when the best time to cast your moa in that time frame would be. Not to mention, at the same time, that necromancer is looking for you in a crowd of clones. You think it’s hard to get a moa off as a Mesmer when you have clones AND stealth? You’re the one that needs to learn to play, not the necromancer. >_>:

Spirit watch is mechanically one of the best maps they have. They messed up on designing the map and the game has flaws. Spirit watch would be the best possible map if only:
- It was flatter, less stairs and goofy obstacles that make playing the map awkward, while retaining choke points for area denial play.
- The game didn’t have so many broken movement mechanics that heavily favored certain classes, then the orb wouldn’t need all of its goofy restrictions.
- The orb could be tossed.

Can't Disable Authenticator

I went through the account recovery process, etc. I can reset my password but I cannot remove the authenticator that it says is attached to my account (another account). It’s simply greyed out. Why is this and how can I fix it?

RNG and Grind in GW2 is not that bad

You dont’ need to grind anything. Just play the game normally. Most people can make 10 gold easily by just playing the game.

In 2 month you can have your precursor by just playing the game.

The way I like to play is to hunt for the item. Thats how I play a game. Not but just doing some stuff to get gold (also knows as grinding) to then buy the item I want. Thats not fun. Or at least not for the people who have a similar game-play style as me and complain about the grind..

Precursors you can’t hunt for because they are intended to be able to be gained by any type of player (expect a PVP player). Play normally and you will get your precursor eventually.

Lol, people with 2000 hours still don’t have one, let alone “their precursor” (aka one they’d want).

If it isn’t one they want most are closely the same cost (expect underwater ones) they can just sell it and then buy the one they want. Problem Solved

Pretty sure even land ones range from 300-1000g? Then count the water ones. Yeah it’s not the same. >_>:
