Eh, I am not so convinced that training our fairweathers will have a significant impact. It’s hard to judge their motivation, so I just default to the obvious “they don’t play when we lose” so training defeats the purpose. We did have some large scale training the first time we got our fairweathers with over 200 people in attendance on Mumble for both sessions, but eh…effort. I’m fine with answering questions when people have them, but I don’t think many of us have the energy to actively reach out to people about these things.

Tc does something better than you – we don’t stop fighting when we lose. We don’t sit in LA or at the world dragon’s while trolling everyone on the forums. Instead we go out and fight.

That’s entirely possible. I don’t remember what server you were on before TC, but I’m sure you fought Maguuma 1.0 and know that we were the same back then. Unfortunately, WvW isn’t as fun for a lot of us now, so it’s kind of a thing of the past. With less of the WvW regulars committing throughout the week and more fairweather players that poof in higher tiers, it definitely looks like a ghost town sometimes. And it really affects me, because I play on the tail end of NA prime time. I don’t really understand why killing world bosses is being spoken as a pejorative here, though. Like omg how dare they PvE!

I don’t think it’s really complaining. Think of it as the kettle pointing out that the pot is also black. By the way, it wasn’t just Maguuma, even a Dragonbrand person pointed it out, and then some TC guy decided that person was malicious and took the moral high road, or something.

Unfortunately, I don’t think that will ever stop, as long as people conflate tier with skill. And they’ll always do that to feel better about themselves.

The brief time I spent in EBG in TC’s area last night was the most fun I’ve had in WvW in a couple of weeks, so hat’s off to you guys, I guess~

I’d like to know this too. I didn’t attack anyone seriously. Had an accidental autoattack on one yak because a couple TC were trying to gank me and put me in combat. Moved after two attacks and continued running.

Lots of players on the forums seem to have a serious problem with grouping everyone under one small umbrella.

Most maguumans I see on the field are there to have fun and do their best(and you should give them props for fighting even in a huge blowout.)

It was tough, and I’m sure those in that TC zerg knows it. Surely, this guy could show a little more respect.

From the look of that screenshot, you are lying on the floor long after the battle is over and you have no visible allies there to rez you. Which means you are either corpse scouting, or waiting for a stealth rez, both tactics at least as unsavory as corpse-dancing.

I normally limit emotes to simply /bow or /salute after a good fight while roaming. Laying around a inside keep/tower after a battle is clearly over waiting for a rez, or trying to act as a scout, are the exceptions in my opinion.

Long after? Do people normally cheer long after battles are over? Because there is a mere minute of chat in his screenshot where all of that is happening, and my guess is he was there because, I don’t know, he was typing in team chat.

Nor do I really see why a stealth rez is considered unsavory, considering thieves can’t C&D on walls anymore, unless I’m missing something.

I think you need to be more creative like the flower throwing mourner. Screenshots are the easy way out!

I for one hope DB stays completely in tact. It only makes me happy when egotistical, stacked T1 servers fall apart.

It’s really not an act. We’re actually just pretty nice folks.

We’re not overtly recruiting DB or Mag guilds on the forums because it’s disrespectful, not because we’re trying a new tactic. FA and TC have different ways of doing things (massive understatement).

Having said that, we’d be nuts not to want DB and Mag guilds to join us if they like our server and want to fight with us in T2. You guys are great and a lot of fun to fight against (and I assume a lot of fun to fight alongside as well). We’re just not going to flood the forums with posts trying to pry you away from your current servers.

Really? I don’t think anyone wants Maguuma guilds. It’s why our core guilds have stayed here since the beginning (no wait it’s because we have a strong community!)

Honestly most of the people on the forums are the look at my shiny stick type. They like to burn other peoples stick to make their stick look better when everyone has the same stick. (to make this clear a stick from a tree not the perverted stick) Each sever has the people who can take on 5 times their numbers and those that cant take out a person with 5 people. Some are nice but people come to the forums to rub things in peoples faces.

I’ve definitely seen them do it on Maguuma borderlands (or at least heard Xushin’s sexy voice talking about it). It’s pretty absurd to claim that people don’t know about it at this tier.

AoN are our bros, they used to be on Maguuma (and Ehmry Bay and Fort Aspenwood and I don’t remember what else). They pretty much always run groups of that size and are really good at it

the main issue with mag = we have numbers…. that only show up when we are winning.. so t4 we have a half hour queue and t3 we have outnumbered buff.. for the most part these people are just lazy levelers who somehow translate to winning via zerg.

It was fairweathers before, but I think it’s just general burnout at this point. A lot of the regulars are not on at all or only for an hour here and there. I don’t think it’s specific to our server, either.

Pretty much this, though I am glad some people are stepping up to try and make WvW fun. WaR guild especially for leading Maguuma on Saturday night and Sinful Panda and Xushin on Sunday.
