OP are you serious? I don’t know a single person who hasn’t paid to use the market for gems or gold. They are making huge bank. Every patch is designed to make more money and grind longer. Open your eyes, or your wallet. One or the other.

So my small guild plays together every night and does their dailies and dungeon runs before we do wvw.

First thing we noticed? Champs in Orr. we were mystified. It’s hard enough to earn your way fairly in this game, but now even harder.

Next, we head to Honor of the Waves. No mention of making it harder than before in the notes. Yet, some of the monsters summon the dogs that weren’t doing it before.

In the other large guild I’m in people are chatting about the grind for dailies and new gear. They are complaining about the changes to AC. Finally, many are complaining about class changes or in some cases, the lack thereof.

I want to love this game, especially since it was the first wvw game since DAOC that really got close to the fun again. Instead, it seems like we have a game held together by glue coming apart at the seams.

This game is now just a pay to win. Casual gamers are suffering. Wvw players are made to wait for more PVE content while their concerns are ignored. Welcome to the grind. I keep watching that video with anet developers telling us how this game would be different and they didn’t want to be another one of those MMOs. They said there would be no grind in guild wars 2.

It really is my own fault. I believed them.

What does your build and equipment look like? I’ve always loved axe. So glad it was given some love.

Points have to come from somewhere. In wvw, each side targets the weakest side first. So it follows, if you are being targeted, you are presenting a weaker target. If you can wipe their groups a couple times, they will think twice before coming for you, but you can’t expect them not to continue to take points from you if they are able to take them. This is an opportunist playstyle and quite effective when a Powerhouse like BG can pretty much do anything they want on your own borderland.

Points aren’t even being considered here. There is no way that is going to change in this match. On the other hand, this is their own borderland, as you say, and they had a wide-open Bay with both inner and outer down.

Perhaps you should look at the whole map. No, really look at the whole thing. We took hills (from BG) we took greenbiar (from BG). The second we step away from either of those BG is there trying to take it back. We are not even queued on that map. We are fighting BG as BG is everywhere. For every 1 TC i see, i see 10 BG. Just because we are not fighting BG near you doesn’t mean we are not fighting BG.

I understand, they are quite stacked. Yet, you had 10-20 people continue to attack the southwest supply camp, completely ignoring Bay. You leave us no other choice than to attack you.

Thanks for the fun in KN bl guys. While the first 2 hours were pretty borring from our view inside garrison, the next couple of hours had alot of good fights, including the fight in Bay lord room. Stupid banner resses needs nerfing, or you need to get a debuff when banner ressed so it wont happen again. Had the room to 80%+ twice when the lord was banner ressed

Had some insane ability lag all over the zone later when KN took garrison. Did TC and KN experience it as well? Ive never seen it like that before, usually its only located near the fights.

Yes, many of us were experiencing the same thing. No fighting near, and really bad lag.

P.S. HB is freaking scary good. We are working on some counters against you, and hopefully you will have a little more challenge soon.

I think it’s a side-effect of WvW using the PvE rule-set. Everything that isn’t specifically banned from working, works.

I’m pretty sure they mentioned Skale Venom as being one of the unintended problems right now.

There are a bunch of norn consumables in the Wayfarer’s Foothills people are using too. They should turn them off until they figure out how to fix the issue.

I’m not sure what changes you have made, but it is near impossible to fight in these situations with zerg vs. zerg combat. I’m pressing skills for ten seconds straight with no activation.

This has reached a point for me that I’m just going to vote with my presence and leave the game. We have three people who have the best computers money can buy right now (for gaming) who are all experiencing the same issue.

If anyone has any idea how to work around this issue, there are quite a few of us who would be happy for some help. If we can’t improve it, there is no reason to even play the game.

Zergs will be zergs. No big deal. Fix it by removing the down-state/rez mechanic. When you die – you die. Simple fix for WvW.

I briefly scanned the T1 thread and all I saw was tears and bitterness. To save others who may be inclined to read the thread some time let me give you the short version. In a nutshell JQ got stacked during the last week of free transfers and nobody can compete with the 800 pound gorilla. The end.

Now lets talk about how much fun we are having in T2. We have cookies, we have Yak parades and we have celebrities representing our servers. Plus the fights are exciting and relatively even. Who could ask for more? I think we are all enjoying this match and that is all that matters.

I think people are over estimating how many are on JQ. A lot of the time we don’t have ques for all of the BL’s. What we do have is enough people to cover all the BL’s basically at all times.

Anyway, having fun is what it’s all about and it looks like you guys and gals are having a lot of it ! Can’t say the same for T1, SoS and SoR are so boring to fight.

Moral of the story: Always choose a server with a strong community as the highest priority. Everything else falls into place after that. There are no rewards for fighting in the top tier, and it seems almost a proven fact that it does more damage to servers than good.

As long as the people on your server are having fun, showing up to fight, and trying to do the best they can, then be proud of your server no matter where you end up in the silly ranking system.

Erk dropped his backpack at Sceptus’ feet, indicating the Norn look through it for something useful to defend himself against the horde of enemies. “Holy Hell. Where did this come from?” Sceptus mused as he pulled a long rifle from the backpack, an evil gleam in his eye. The Charr growled in approval as he flipped his flamethrower to full throttle. Sceptus raised the rifle to aim at the nearest Rallian. The rifle belched smoke as Sceptus pulled the trigger and a Rallian head exploded. The oncoming horde slowed their charge, frowing at what was left of their companion as it flopped to the ground.

“Nice shot, but there are a lot more where that one came from.” Erk said. Sceptus frowned, knowing his friend was correct. There was no way the two engineers would survive the rush. The horde screamed their fury and resumed the charge into the camp. A scream of pure horror and agony echoed amongst them. Sceptus had heard a lot of death screams in his life, but never one quite like this. He focused on the left of the approaching Rallians. A giant flesh golem was tearing through their line, rending and tearing Rallians with each swipe of its hooked claws. The enemy squad stopped in their tracks to deal with the new threat. From the direction the golem had come, two Norns emerged from the treeline. Kendrick, Commander of The Tarnished Coastguard. Thrumdi, The Anchor Knight, and captain of the Guard. Finally, a little behind them a Norn in tribal armor carrying a staff topped with skulls. Vulkus Thay, Necromancer. The flesh golem continued its rampage within the enemy troops. Sceptus lowered his eyes in shame as the creature killed Rallians without remorse. The remaining soldiers fled towards Redbriar Tower.

“Vulkus, call that thing off.” Sceptus heard Kendrick tell the Necromancer as the Flesh Golem continued to rend the dying or dead, as if wallowing in their pain. Pieces of Rallian soldiers littered the ground all around it. The Necromancer’s lip curled in comtempt, but he nooded and approached the creature. Sceptus could hear him speaking in a language no mortal should know. Erk stood at his side, his fangs bared in disgust. Sceptus raised the rifle, prepared to blow the thing’s head right back to hell.

“Stop!” The Necromancer said, his eyes swivelling to the engineer, a look of outrage on his face. “It took me two days to build this construct. You will not destroy it without my permission.” His eyes turned back to the golem as he continued speaking to the evil creature. He frowed when the beast ignored him completely. He stepped forward and raised his staff, uttering another command to the golem. It began to eat the Rallians. Sceptus smiled as he pulled the trigger on the rifle. The shot took the creature in the back of head, jerking it off balance for a moment. It roared and slowly stood to its full height of twelve feet, its glowing red eyes boring into the Norn Engineer. Bits of flesh dropping from the jaws.

“Jooiinnnn Usssss.” It said in a voice from the lowest pits of the Abyss. Vulkus stepped back in shock, his head tilted in confusion. Thrumdi approached the Necromancer slowly as the golem walked toward them, its mouth snapping in hunger.

“What now?” The Anchor Knight asked. Anger was replaced with fear on the Necromancer’s face. Sceptus and Erk arrived at their side.

“I suggest we run.” The Charr Engineer said with a chuckle. Sceptus nodded in agreement, as Kendrick unleashed arrow after arrow into the creature while the Tarnished Coastguard gave ground to the approaching monster.

Great fights for my engi in FA BL and BG BL tonight. I tried to wave and salute to the many worthy opponents. I’m the blonde Norn with the blue stripe on his face. I’m totally serious that this has been a great match. /salute.

From experience last night, there is no way anyone could say BT isn’t skilled (at least from the TC side). It was like running through a giant blender and becoming a Norn meat milkshake. Hats off to you guys on your north camp attacks. I was wondering why you chose that target, but it is clear you folks are out for good combat, not just points. This viewpoint is one I totally agree with.

Honestly, I’m looking forward to you guys next week. We need an active third party, even if they hate our guts. I don’t mind coming in third place – but it is terrible when the third server has only 20-30 active players for the whole server. Seriously, the guys hanging in there on SBI deserve the highest respect.

SBI made a push onto TCBL today and our whole map actually cheered. They were taking a whole pile of stuff on different maps today, was good to see.

That is actually great to hear. I’m happy they are doing this, and shows hope for them as a server in the future. Perhaps the reset attracted some new players there? Anyhow, SBI was tier 1 and obviously an awesome server. It is sad to see these servers torn apart by bandwagon players.

Looking forward to a reset, and faster placement in a tier that makes sense. Makes me wonder if any of the people that transferred recently regret their decision to hose their previous community for personal glory.

Also, after playing SoR this week, I would say they have a good chance of staying in T1. Blackgate was pretty dominant, but SoR seems even stronger in coverage and tactics together. Time will tell, but best of luck to everyone.

I read about the community and how the server was being named, and I didn’t see a huge connection between Anet and “OldRoar” Rall. The community of Gaiscioch mailed Anet letters asking for the server to be named, and then went there as a community after Anet did so. Not the other way around. Unless I’m missing some secret conspiracy connection? Looks like Anet did what they did to honor a fall gamer, who didn’t even play the first Guild Wars.

That would be really lame, I doubt that DEVs would fall so low that they would use inside-information.

It’s true that SoR was recruiting extra guilds before the end of free tranfers was announced and that they are now benefiting from it, but that can just as well be a coincident.

My uncles, brother-in-laws, sisters, nephews, cousins, best friend works for ANet and that is how we knew 6 years in advance that the server transfers were closing, so we were well prepared.

Please take a look at the namesake of your server. Now look at the community where that namesake came from and the guild. Next, put two and two together. You can see folks have questions about it. I did not say it was true, and feel it is a coincidence. Still, I did hear folks talking about it, and how would I even know about it if it wasn’t talked about?

I won’t lie, it stinks that we fought our way to this tier only to get smacked by a bunch of transfers. I don’t blame SoR at all for that. I have a ton of respect for some of their guilds and the amount of organization they have, even now, after the transfers. Personally, I don’t see the point in posting scores in a match that isn’t a true match and hasn’t been since the transfers. Apparently, some of you need to see the scores, and its part of your fun, so who I am to tell you how to have fun?

There is some animosity from other fronts, like how you handle yourselves on the boards and trying to taunt us by some of your posts. It really isn’t necessary. Your server has played well and deserved its position in tier 2 before any of those transfers. You don’t need to prove anything to us. Your reaction time and organization can only help us learn to be better players. Honestly, if your server goes to tier 1, I’ll be rooting for you to stay there and take it over, for more reasons than you might think.

There is one troubling thing I heard though. That the developers of this game have strong ties on the server. I mean, I guess they have to play somewhere right? Still, the information is out there that SoR learns things about the game before anyone else and has certain advantages. Can someone from SoR speak on this subject and dismiss it as some silly rumor? TC is on the verge of giving up it seems. (shrugs) have fun in T1 SoR.

I gave up before the week even started. With SoR guaranteed to move up, SBI guaranteed to move down, and TC’s rating practically unchanged regardless of the final score, this week from a score/ranking stand point for TC is irrelevant. That’s why I’m personally using this week to check out PvE stuff (jumping puzzles and Monday’s updates), although I may pop into WvW from time to time.

Well, if I was to point out post history, Indo, you are as passionate for your server as I am for mine. I’m trying to control it, and last night was a break (I had been a good forum person posting stories only for a while), and I apologized in mumble to my server. Its a game, I’m having fun. I should realize that Ascii is also doing the same, although his idea of fun is different from mine (and more akin to the ribbing sports fans give each other). I’m actually a pretty nice guy. Competitive as all hell though.

No disrespect intended at all. Now yesterday, I was clearly being a jerk to Ascii, for which I promised I would not get trolled on the forums anymore and fell for it hook line and sinker. Today I was just discussing an interesting topic. Folks were actually saying the above, and not in a negative tone. To us, we just marvel at the idea someone would transfer just because another server had a bunch of transfers. I hope I have explained this in a more friendly light.

Having a great night in EB, TC have a 60+ group running around or so it seems. They are proving to be a struggle to fight but we enjoy the fights all the same.

I was with that group. It was our largest group of the night, but well below that many people. I do want to give a shout-out to Nightlight from AL. Also, Clone Deyja from PiNK. Their combined leadership on mumble was a pleasure to be part of.
