I think you should make WvW require lvl 80 to enter. I am sick of lvl 3s or similar low lvls who dont even have all equipment slots filled, no traits and not all skills unlocked. They waste slots on the maps, especially when the queues are hours long already and turn fights to the worse. If one of them dies several enemies will get up again.

If you cant make WvW lvl 80 only, at least remove upscaling for people who have at least one lvl 80 already to punish exp leeches.

Low levels can still scout, look out duty, run supply, man siege or CC for the high levels. I prefer < 80’s being active and participating in this way compared to the numerous max level characters I see standing around afk….

Hopefully for more than a week, but we all know after this week someone will goto T2 and someone from T2 will goto T1, we all know who I’m talking about.

But on the bright side IRON will get a taste of NA T1.

We could only hope that in WvW the NA is better than the EU because EU STOMPED NA in tpvp, but they weren’t from IRON.

Welcome to SOR, IRON! Here is a bit of history of the server and how it came to be. Quite possibly the first of its kind in the MMO community in terms of passionate online gamers getting together for a greater cause to have a server named after an ex fellow gamer (who could just as easily be one of us)…..credit to Anet as well for following through.

Lol at competition in WvW. It’s zerg vs zerg, where most of the time it’s everyone in PVT gear spamming 1.

I used to think the same way when I was a pugger latching onto random commanders. Join an organized wvw/pvp guild on teamspeak and your opinion will change quickly.

Correct. Servers with high off peak traffic will dominate the scoreboard because their off peak team has less resistance to deal with and can tick high ppt’s for hours on end.

What would be nice is if the loot bags themselves showed up in inventory as stackable items to 250. Then you can open them later at your leisure and you should never come close to inventory issues. I’d have the bags be soul bound (account bound at the most) so they don’t wind up cluttering the TP.

JQ as a whole has gotten bored of the repetitive wvw match up that we have now since the match up hasn’t changed much in a long time. (Guest in JQ la and ask this is the answer that you will get) Overall JQ is tired of wvw after weekend hype and a large lead and says lets go do something else that we havn’t been doing for months on end. JQ will continue to slack off until something new is added to wvw but until then have fun bg with first then maybe you guys will feel the same after a bit too.

Yeah thanks for your sympathy (I think?). It never used to be like this, I mean we were kicking kitten during the beginning of the week then people just stopped showing up…

Not just that but a lot of my friends on JQ have decided to move to a couple newer games that recently came out & I think that I might do the same. From all the weeks of winning with JQ I feel I’ve experienced all this game has to offer & that it’s just about that time to move on. I had a blast fighting among my fellow JQ’ers since the start, Blackgate has been an honorable opponent; good luck trying to break JQ’s record. Take care everyone!

Why do you feel bad? it’s not like anyone does not have the option to transfer. Some of us like having greater number of red targets.

SOR used to be this way in the lower tiers when every map was the home color and let me tell you, was very very boring running around with little to no targets.

As JQ claim over weeks to be stack with professionnal and veterans wvw player base, being 1st so long was like a magnet for fairweather players to transfer over now you are full but you have to face some other proplayers from lowers tiers that came for this said challenge to beat the overstack JQ. Seem not impossible and BG is really getting more and more veteran and skilld pro crew and guilds from lower tiers. Armies are forming and for now I can say that BG is stronger and best place to go as wvw player that love heavy fights. Some more guilds will complete BG crew soon and ensure it to stay n°1 now.

As been said, the Coverage game only shows up during the weekday and BG has not let me down from my earlier prediction of them finishing first for the 2nd week in a row. They have managed to take a lead after being 3rd for the full weekend and around 10-15k behind JQ going into Monday….

SoR’s NA is only the strongest because they have the most NA players of all T1 servers. .

heh, this makes no sense. Since Tier 1 are all NA servers most of the player base will be logged on during NA timezones. You see it every week on reset when all 3 servers have queues for all the lands for long stretches at a time. For the first 6-8 hours on reset when no server can use the excuse for coverage everyone notices firsthand which side has the most skilled playerbase. But in the WvW weekly point score warfare, Quantity > Quality

At this point BGs Oceanic/Asian timezone is far superior than their NA crew. Not bashing BG, but that is sad on ArenaNets part for NA servers. Not entirely sure why it’s taking so long to get Asian servers.

They superior due to majority of NA sleeping. BG NA like JQ and SOR NA timezones had full queues for all BL’s on reset day. In other words, BG NA has strong guilds but they have to deal with far greater resistance than the timezones you speak of.

As everyone knows by now, server with best coverage 24/7 throughout the week will come out on top and unless JQ finds the number replacements for the loss of FOO alongside SOR’s already weak coverage, BG should take #1 spot two weeks in a row, kudos to them for recruiting active guilds for their weaker time slots.

Eh I’d say its more like SoR and their massive zerg balls are able to wipe half the BG on map while the other half are busy with JQ. Relying on knowing JQ would rather have BG points, and kicking BG while they are down is in no way winning the hardest fights.

Player numbers change all the time as gamers come and go. It’s not like the servers are gonna shutdown next week so what’s the rush? Besides, regardless of 1st, 2nd or 3rd place finishes what sets Tier 1 apart from others is the fact we have fun action 24/7…. and that in itself is a good thing.

To over take BG JQ need 15k points over 17 hours, that is 882 points per hour, or +220 points per tick on top of BG. I’ve seen a lot of turn arounds happen, if JQ push hard it is still possible, even if BG play at their best.

I wouldn’t concede defeat until it’s at least +500 points per tick required if I were you.

Early Congrats! If you wake up tomorrow morning with a lead it’s all but done. JQ’s only chance is a huge showing by FOO and company when they log later as they have made up 10k++ overnight points numerous times. However, based on waha’s recent comments, it sounds like most of the Chinese alliance disbanded due to burnout, etc.

I hope a recent 2nd place showing alongside the news shared by waha does not mean players/guilds are going to abandon JQ in mass. Will be interesting what happens next week.

KN guilds transferring is really shaking up tier 1, I just hope that the competition is close, I don’t care who wins, I just want WvW to be interesting, and I’ve wanted this for a very long time now, even when I was on SoS and they were still winning.

This man gets it. I am surprised very few other BG posters have acknowledged the large influx of players they have received recently. Set this influx against some recent changes on JQ and we have good competition for number 1 spot. JQ needs to pull its socks up. Lets see if that can happen.

With all the new guilds in BG, now JQ hopefully will find some true challenges, and the ball is now in JQ’s court to decide to fight for 1st or not.

JQ’s opponents on T1 knows what timezone did the heavy lifting as JQ NA players routinely woke up with 10k leads. It’s no surprise once the huge “Chinese alliance” mentioned by waha disbanded in numbers the rest of JQ is struggling to recover.

heh, due to the fact JQ, BG, and SOR all are categorized as North American servers, the brunt majority of forces for all servers will logon during, duh, NA hours, difficult concept I know. While SOR NA is our A team in terms of coverage, they don’t have the luxury of PVdooring half filled warzones as the North American players for all sides will still field respectable numbers.

The home maps need to differ from Green, Blue and Red teams. The 3rd ranked server in the tier needs to have a map that favors them so they don’t get overrun due to coverage, numbers etc. Their maps should have stronger defensive positions and make it challenging for the Green and Blue teams to dominate the full map.

Green should have the least structural advantages to allow the lower ranked teams greater chance to wreck havoc.

Blue should be balanced somewhere in the middle.

We all know what is going to happen in this end with all this.

BG will push hard for a few weeks and then eventually they will burn out. They will start losing players again and be right back where they were two weeks ago. They will then look for the next server to absorb and start farming CoF to pay for them to transfer over.

JQ will go back to their casual, lazy play style knowing full well their coverage wins them the match. They will turn it on when they have to, but that won’t be all to often.

SoR will still be here doing the same thing they always have. No highs, no lows, just the steady pace.

That’s one thing I will say about SOR teamspeak. I have never heard anyone rage or troll anyone, ever. Even during the most heated battles when things aren’t going our way. We just all having a good ole time. Couple weeks ago I logged onto TS and listened to someone “singing” some tracks as I guess she is a singer in real life? Initially I thought I was in the wrong channel, haha. Good stuff!

Indeed. Someone mentioned BG lost two EU coverage commanders along with their followers the other night which explains their sheer numbers earlier in the week. Guess they got tired of all the drama on that server and quickly left. 8 hours later look what happened to the overall score as BG and JQ were going neck and neck and in one evening JQ has grown the lead to double digits.

haha, well put. The next huge purge of the player base won’t happen til the next big name MMO is released and we all know what that is. When that happens a chunk of the playerbase will leave for good and a good pct of others playtime will drastically dwindle….leaving the rest to re-balance the structure of the tiers.

We all know that success in WvW depends on sheer numbers. It’s not even debatable. The bigger zerg wins, the more heavily stacked server wins. That’s WvW. So what is everyone bragging about? I hope we at SoR, or on Blackgate, or on Jade Quarry, are not under the impression we’re more skilled than anyone else? Please…

You disagree? Please indicate to me a server with a low, medium or heavy population that has ever beaten 2 “Very Heavy” population servers, and then climb into a higher tier. Regale me with stories of how this plucky server with next to no coverage was able to claw its way to victory through sheer skill and strategy alone.

Go ahead, it’s Sunday and I did all my housework. I’ll wait.

Numbers don’t always mean everything. We just beat off the big BG zerg on BG BL when they tried to take our tower with like 2x our numbers while out manned. They couldn’t move us for half an hour.

One thing I’ve noticed the past several weeks from any of the SF posters is they always try to impress T1 with their skillz and beg for respect. But everyone in Tier 1, friend and foe knows FOO > SF by 100 fold on JQ, both in terms of coverage, skills.
