Just to bump this and hope for a DEVs answer IF targeting IS ever going to actually work ..

Tab target DOESN’T EVER choose the target right in front of you .. IT will target one at a range (so you pull a huge extra number of mobs potentially) or anywhere BUT the one that is probably hitting you at that time

I really hope they one day fix this

Just check the link I posted above, targeting has several issues for some time now and I hope so too.

Forum Search Function

Forum search is broken for a long time now and they are very aware about that. Also, the thing isn’t they aren’t worrying or not caring about fixing it. Once a dev came up and explained that the forum uses a third part software that’s not supported anymore and none at Anet has been able (or got chances) to learn about the software and try to fix it. They are looking for implementing a different system or something but no date for that yet. Also know that devs also are annoyed by the broken search, it’s not easy for them to find things either.

I’ll try to find such post with that explanation.

Chat tabs don't flash on new messages

I have had a similar issue but it’s with guild tab only, it doesn’t flash at all. I recreated all my tabs again because map chat tab were blinking out of nowhere when had no new messages too, that was fixed, but guild chat tab still has issues.

Yay, I knew that GW2 maps were inside skyboxes :P (if you get what I mean lol)
Yup, as others stated, repairing usually is enough to fix these anomalies.

I most certainly hope this isn’t an intended change… I, as many others, have gotten used to using this a lot and changing it without even announcing anything about it is a real game changer for people like me, I’m sure. Now let’s just hope they revert it back asap.

Well, what if the previous behavior (one that it would target enemies behind you) were the real bug and not this one now? As long no official responses are given one can only suppose or guess which one was the intended.

Fact is, if content is disabled it doesn’t mean it’s not being fixed, actually it means a fix wasn’t found yet or not done yet or making it available could make things worse.

Shadow, thanks for the info! And, yeah, I know it’s flipped-flopped a few times.

You know, I think it was nice to be able to have a sonar type of targeting skill. And, yes, yes… perhaps it was a bit over the top. I get that. But I would like for Anet to put such changes, if intended, into the kitten release notes! This way there is no speculation as to whether a skill has changed by design or if it’s a bug… or if it’s a combination of both (bug and design) that has a skill in its current state, i.e. – the whole stealth/reveal thing seems to be a little of both.

In short, if a skill has changed by design, put it into the notes. If it’s a bug, it would be beneficial to all if Anet would come to the thread that’s talking about the bug and at least comment on it, like with the stealth/reveal issue.

You are welcome. And yeah, I can’t agree more. Changes like that should be on patch notes indeed but the same thing happened when that behavior was changed (when it started targeting enemies out of view): nothing on patch notes as far as I recall. Even in this case, I’m not so sure what was the real and original intended behavior: if targeting being able or not to target enemies out of view; but what I’m sure is that it has hardly worked properly in both behaviors, that thread is there to confirm it.

Not only is Target Nearest just picking up enemies that are in your Line of Sight, but the enemy also has to be in your Field of View now. So, if the enemy is behind you (not on your screen, per se) but on level ground, Target Nearest doesn’t pick him up now. (WOW…totally kitten useless!) Bug or not… this is a HUGE step backwards imo. x(

Actually, it was the previous (or even initial) behavior: targeting was used to pick up only enemies in your field of view and not behind you. It was changed a while back and a few players complained (even myself, I don’t see a point of having a “superpower” that allows you to know about an enemy sneaking up behind you :P), and the main issue with it was that targeting would prioritize enemies out of your view or out of reach over those right on your throat.

To the devs: I just wanted to make a suggestion (although I’m sure I did this before): It’s well noted that the warning on bottom isn’t easily noticeable for a few players, otherwise we wouldn’t still see threads poping up about this subject.

What about making official mails look some more different? Official mails already have that company logo in them but what about making a different background? Official mails could show some different background like a simple red gradient maybe, similar to what’s used for devs posts on forums. It would be straightly and easily recognized as an official mail just a first glance. Even new players that has never seen forums or any official mails would easily recognize it because it would be a lot different than normal mails. I’m not saying to get rid of that warning, but use a different background in addition to that warning.

Also, although that warning is a great thing its layout doesn’t seem to be much efficient, it would be better if placed at the top, just below subject.

That’s a very cheap scam (they ask you to click a link but the “link” isn’t clickable), just hit Report.

Also, always remember that Anet won’t communicate such things through in-game mail. Usually they do through regular email or other means. Also, official in-game mail comes with Anet icon beside the subject and without that warning on bottom obviously.

I also want to note, that while i am unsure of how Overwolf loads information from the Trading Post for it’s “GW2 TP Watcher” from the gw2 app contest, it does bring up and show me values from it.(I am a database engineer/developer myself) So if it is directly pulling from my client, which i assume it may be for the purpose of time it takes to do so, it looks like this may be a visual bug. Otherwise if it is server-side that it pulls information from(i.e. ArenaNet databases), then i guess it could be numerous issues. Just my two cents though.

Possibly these apps don’t pull the info from the client itself, there is an “API” from where data from TP can be pulled and several apps use it from what I recall. Even wiki has something like that.

Anytime you get stuck into geometry you can type /stuck in chat. It will report your location to devs and at times it will teleport you out or ask you to use a waypoint, but the thing is it will tell devs that you got stuck.

And since you’re all about style, how about not having my character show up in monochrome in my dye preview window? Not that my Ele doesn’t look great in solid blue armor.

Monochrome? Hmm not sure if it’s the case but your last sentence reminded me of something that happened to me. By chance were you trying to change dyes while in WvW? Dumb question yes but I had a “duh” moment once related to this.

I cannot test this at the moment, but I think it always takes items starting from the top of your inventory. So if your invisible bag is above your normal bag, it will be taken from the invisible bag. If your normal bag is above the invisible one, it will be taken from the normal bag.

No, it wasn’t always like that but it started with that Trading Post overhaul.

Yes, I have noted it a while back. If you have 2 stacks of the same item, one in invisible bag and another in normal bags and your invisible bag is on top, it will take the amount from the invisible bag. It doesn’t happen with stack only but with items, if you have 2 identical items the one in invisible bag will be taken first.

Nevermind, I see what the issue in it lol. Maybe I was just used with the old behavior but now I stopped to think about I see it’s good that each gear keep its colors. However, I think it could be useful if a fresh new gear could “copy” your current dyes when worn for the first time.

It used to (hence bigharsh saying it WAS a bug). Now, the dyes are reset when you equip a new piece, even if that piece is the same skin. The preview window is different and hasn’t changed in that aspect.

Oh? I didn’t notice that. Actually I didn’t see the previous behavior as a bug and if this is an intended change once again it was a bad one :S What was wrong with keeping the previous dye? O.o

Yeah the fact that it kept the dye was a bug. You always have to dye new pieces of armor.

Huh? You sure? From what I recall it does keep the dye, except if an armor has a dye channel that was never tinted. Even the preview window uses your current dyes.

That may be like I mentioned in that thread. One of the lists used by Adblock has a rule like “###backtotop” that causes the main “div” of that page to be hidden.

I don’t think they would do a faq or something like since it’s not directly related to their products and not everyone uses it, despite being a commonly used thing.

However, I would say that their page would need a redesign so that tag doesn’t interfere with the main content. Maybe just renaming a few tags would do the trick.

Yes, after the changes done for NPE (New Players Experience) you won’t be able to see map progression until you reach level 15. After that it will be visible for any characters on your account.

Ohhh btw.. to the devs.. could you guys take advantage of this restoration and do something about the stupid “feature” that makes players to get confused about their order? It doesn’t make any sense to change a bunch of their story for co-op’s sake. Here is what I’m talking about:

I read this on the Guild Wars 2 wiki page:

If your character has not completed Setting the Stage (chapter 4) will allow you to see every map (primarily Lion’s Arch and Concordia) as it originally was.

It says “(primarily Lion’s Arch and Concordia)”, but all maps will be restored to how they were when the game released?

Also does this mean that Southsun Cove will be removed until you make Living Story season 1 replayable?

What page was it? Also no, I think you must have misunderstood. What’s going to be restored are the map inside story instances, it will look as it was while you are doing Personal Story. Very possibly it will stay as it is on open world.

I’m not sure about this though as I don’t what wiki page are you referencing to.

I’m not sure but I have heard that a few codes from wiki has stopped working after 31st March patch, possibly that dye was one of them.

While with Content Guide enabled the map will show the nearest event with that icon, no matter where you are on map. But if standing at the pointed place and turning off Content Guide causes it to disappear, then it’s possibly Content Guide glitching yes, if it was a real event the icon would still appear even while standing there with Content Guide off.

Plus the fact that, as far as I recall, there is not any event at that area currently, it’s Content Guide playing joke on you, hehe.

Hmm, except for seasonal stuff like New Year, Wintersday and stuff I can’t recall about any event that usually happens at Divinity’s Reach. It surely looks like some glitch or leftover from some patch and possibly you see it because the Content Guide. Just out of curiosity, move away and try to disable Content Guide and then go back there, see if it still shows you an event icon.

Yes, due NPE you are not able to see map progression until you reach that level. Check this for more info http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Level_rewards.

(in other words, the game thinks it’s too overwhelming for you to know about map completion… yay du*** NPE strikes again…)

Yup, that heart changed with NPE. As mentioned the only thing left to do is to hunt creatures “to be used” in that pit (see the irony huh?).

Yup, it’s already known. Its first appearance was after 3/31 patch and it sounds like it’s possibly related with the upcoming expansion.

Yeah locking up everything behind level-gate requires less grind than the old-fashioned way.

All hail NPE and its super progression ideas!

At first I thought it were some sarcasm.. O.o

As a still new-ish player, I have nothing to compare against my time leveling now.

Again, that’s what I’m still curious and nobody has came back to answer… I still wonder what a brand new player would think of it if they knew how it was before. I mean if they heard or saw through videos so not experiencing it and only experiencing this NPE. Would their opinion change? What would they prefer? That’s what I still want to know… Again, from what I see it’s possible that a brand new player wouldn’t see issues on it because they have nothing to compare to, or what they have is worse than the bad parts of this NPE. Still wonders…
