I don’t even know if that’s possible in the current game engine. I would guess that all burst skills are tied to the F1 mechanic. I have to wonder if it’s possible to change the recharge of burst skills without totally changing how burst works.

Also, just because you CAN burst on cooldown doesn’t mean it’s a good idea. You have to wait for some kind of opening. I would say the stuns come every 10-15 seconds on average.

Also 20s and 25s…for a 2s and 3s stun…now I KNOW you have no concept of balance

I would INSTANTLY never touch Mace/Hammer again with such absurdly long CDs.

How biased can you be?
Look at the average cooldown of stuns. Now consider that Earthshaker is an AoE 2s stun and Skull Crack is a 3s stun, the longest stun available in the game.

Yeah, let’s take a look:

Shield Bash (1s): 25s
Static Shield (1s): 40s
Concussion Shot (1s): 25s
Hilt Bash (1s): 25s
Magic Bullet (2s): 25s
Static Field (2s AoE): 40s
Signet of Domination (3s): 45

Now let’s take a look at Skull Crack and Earthshaker:
Skull Crack (3s): 10s
EarthShaker (2s AoE): 10s

How are those skills supposed to be balanced… seriously?
Best stun effects in the game, shortest cooldown.

Do you have heard about class mechanics? Can a mesmer stealth so much with short CD has a thief? Can a necro or a ranger spam AI as a mesmer? Can a warrior port? Can a warrior stealth? Can a warrior spam AI? Some classes do things way better than others in some point. Warriors have burst skills.
The stuns people complain are our burst skills. Our weapons stuns have high CD. Only our special abilities have shorter CD because they are linked to adrenaline.
Other classes also have their unique class mechanic that they use and abuse.
Thieves abuse stealth, mesmers abuse AI and so on.
If warriors have to adapt to other classes mechanics, other classes should do the same.
It would better to had one or two classes with team stability than starting to nerf class mechanics.

And then the indecisiveness set into play.

I have a warrior main, but right now i’m leveling a mesmer. I belive the tools and skills mesmer have are totaly awesome for group play. Next patch i think they will buff mantras so it will be even better than before. Between necro and mesmer i would choose mesmer. Between mesmer and warrior i would choose if i want a frontline or a suport/dps class to play in the middle.

When did i say it removes conditions? It simply makes you immune to blind for the duration of the skill because blind is a condition. Therefore, this is still a counter to blind because you cannot be blinded while in berserker’s stance.

That is the same with all stances warrior have, not only berserker stance. You can use stances while blinded.
My point is if you are blinded and pop up berserker stance, you will still miss the next attack. At that point you have a window of 8 seconds where the enemy should not try to blind you, otherwise its wasting their utilities/skills. When i see someone trying to blind me when i have BS up, i know that probably that player is still learning how to play with his toon.

But i will refrase myself:

- In one minute, with the exception of 8 (maybe 10 if traited) seconds, blind counters ALL warrior skills.

And blind doesn’t counter engineer skills? Or thief skills? Blind is a game mechanic. The other classes have to deal with blind and so do warriors. Also, many blinds are built into skills that do damage and serve a function other than to blind. I will give Static Shot or the guardians leap as two examples.

Yes, you are total right and that its the point. I will not even mention why blind its even worst for warriors than it is for other classes.

Or people learn to play the game. With ONE stun breaker i can kill a stun Warrior and Im a bunker Engie. Just play the game.

Stun that regens faster than stun breakers = gg

Conditions that aplly again before condition cleaners recharge = gg
Direct damage biger than heals and his cooldown = gg

With this in mind conditions and direct damage need to go.

I love how I can casually spam buttons and see the opponent lose HP while my HP stays topped off thanks to healing signet, and other sustain. I love how I have on-demand escape options available to me. I love how I can be immune to conditions for 8 seconds.

well… if i wouldn’t see healing signet and 8 seconds condition imunity i would think that you were talking about thieves.

i came here expecting some1 to qq about mesmers and this wasn’t the case, impressive. I gotta say one thing i do not compute since game’s release. Why the adrenaline bar isn’t emptied when warrior’s attack is missed or blocked (the F1 attack that is)? We all know how gw2 is aiming for casual friendlyness n all but wtf is up with this? This is a small but important little thing that needs to be changed pronto.

That would be a buff to warriors, you know that dont you? Right now you can avoid the warrior to efectively use cleansing ire to clean 3 conditions when you make them miss/interrupt because the adrenaline stays on the bar. Its a thing called counter play.

And mesmer is also cheesy.

The simplicity of people sometimes amaze me*. Of course you would also change cleansing ire so that it only triggers if the attack actually lands. Duh.

*Though chances are, that this guy just wanted to be a smart kitten .

That is another change and its not related to what he said about adrenaline.
If the warrior misses one burst attack, don’t do any damage, loses all adrenaline and get its burst on CD, he doesn´t need cleasing ire to be nerfed. Only one thing or the other. Not both.

Though chances are, that this guy just want to nerf warriors.

I like the idea. People are just complaining about HS because they “think” that it dont have counterplay (poison, physical burst). With that trait you propose people would had a lot more counterplay (poison, evades, dodges, blinds, ports, CC and so on).
If they nerf healing signet (i dont think they will do that) they could give us something like that to compensate.

Yes they are. I´ve seen them around in PvP

They’re in last place on the tier lists. Typically in C-tier whereas warrior is in S tier. That means they’re not a part of the meta.

Ofcourse most people don’t even list D/D thief on there, cuz they’re basically worthless. Probably worse than last place.

If you can find even 1 qualifying team in a tournament (ESL or PAX) that uses a D/D thief, that would be a miracle in itself.

That’s because all those people trying to show how much burst the thief does is using a D/D thief for example. D/P thief DOES NOT have cloak and dagger. All these stupid screenies and videos for “proof” has it showing cloak and dagger.

Like you said, who still uses D/D thief? It’s terrible!!

Please stop QQing about CND + Backstab burst and that goes for everyone in the warrior forums.

I just said that they are there in PvP because they are (and doing good imo). Meta changes and people adapt.

You said it: 42% damage reduction and the highest health pool in the game. Combine that with Shield Stance and Endure Pain. Again, how does power damage counter the meta warrior?

The meta warrior is strong against conditions, but a lot weaker against power damage.

There are unblockable attacks (thief)/marks(necro) and blocks (guardians) in this game that renders Shield Stance Useless.

Endure Pain last 4 seconds on a 60sec Cd. You can trait to have it on <25% Hp left. But you dont have protection, evades (well you got one on GS, that its not a Automatic gap closer and dont leave you right on your target), blinks, ports, stealth and real invulnerability. Other classes have similar ways to avoid direct damage. Warrior cannot avoid direct damage, only mitigate the same with those 2 skills and blocks. And both have a very short duration and a high Cd.

It should be their armour/hp.

Because they had insane healing capability due to Signet of Restoration (now nerfed) and permanent protection uptime (due to boon duration, now nerfed).
Warriors have the insane healing capability and natural protection due to higher armor.
Now, please, pick up an ele and tell me that armor and HP don’t matter.

Thieves are good to surviving only because they disengage at will. If you manage to land two blows, they are dead. Try to run a thief as you would play on a Warrior and see how they survive.

You said it all. Protection is a must. Warrior dont have that. Its more important than HP/heavy armour. They could take elementalist protection away and give them armour and hp and it would be a huge nerf to them. You can see the warrior state before healing bufs and take conclusions. No HP/Armour was good enough to make a diference.

Now thieves: How do you damage someone you dont see? And dont bring the old argument “Spam AoE”. It only works if the thief is weak.

Lol… People want to nerf ALL the things that makes warrior viable and able to beat them.
One class is weak against CC – nerf cc (hammer, shield, mace) , they want to kill the warrior without being disturbed.
Other class cannot burst the warrior down with conditions – nerf mending, cleansing ire, healing signet (so warrior will not be able to remove conditions or have sustain against that class that can reaply conditions all the time).
Other class is weak against a longbow/hammer warrior – nerf longbow burst skill radius and hammer burst skill duration or the traits that alow the warrior to use that skills more often.

Every single build that alow the warrior to kill someone has been QQ in this fórum. Even builds that are only good 1v1 and not in team fights (GS/M-S). (Note: Some people that complained about that build now say that its not hard to counter. They adapted)

In this fórum every build that alow the warrior to have a chance to win should be nerfed.

You should ask your self why the warrior needs all that to be viable. Why do we need AoE burst/CC? There is stealth, AI Spam, good mobile classes that we MUST CC before landing damage otherwise we will not do nothing because we dont have pets/AI to to damage for us.

Why do we need good condition removal/sustain? We dont have stealth, protection, ports, z axis movements and again we dont have pets/AI to take damage for us.

And we dont have a true invulnerability skill. We have one (two traited) physical damage imunity skill for 4 sec. You are efected by all soft/hard CC and conditions.
We have one skill that gives 100% less condition duration for 8 seconds. You can be hard CC (and even soft cc with +% condition builds) and get hit hard by physical damage.
We have one (two traited) stances that give stability and one signet but you can be burst down with physical damage and conditions. There is not a single true invulnerabilty skill in warrior skills.

First fix all the other things that are wrong in this game. After that fix warrior.
There is a reason for warriors being buffed to what they are now. People just need to see the metas we had til now and the stronger classes and their possibilities. After people realise that, warrior is perfectly fine.

Blind = useless warrior.

No class with the exception of thief has a blind on cooldown that can keep up with earthshaker and skull crack. With all other classes eventually the warrior will end up stunning you. Dodge needs to regen, stability skills have long cooldowns and so do stun breakers.

If there were blinds on a 7 sec cooldown then we can talk. But this is not the case.

You don’t need it to be on the same CD. If you have Stability and a Blind chances are you can avoid a great number of Earthshakers/Backbreakers, especially if you factor in dodges, teleports, blocks, evades, and protection. The only class that is severely lacking right now is Ele, every other class right now has the ability to combine several of these things, it’s just a matter of using them correctly.

If Mace is giving you a hard time try using one in a duel server for a while. You’ll start to get used to when the Skull Crack will come out. It tends to be around 4-5 seconds because using it before that means they won’t be able to really make use of it considering how low Mace DPS is. I’ve had Mace vs Mace fights where we hardly ever connect with Skull Crack because we both know when they’re coming.

So … basically you use telepathy as an argument? Awesome.

Thieves and mesmers use that argument many times. And they think its a valid one.

And yet another pathetic crying thread about how OP Beserker Stance is. These forums are full of people not willing to find ways to counter, that’s why whatever Anet will do, they will always be unhappy and spamming the forums over the same things.

What is the counter against passive heal? Actively react to it?

Well, you got poison.
In the case of Healing Signet a power build is also a good counter. if the warrior tries to use the signet you can interrupt him as any other heal. The downside of HS is the heal being to low. If the warrior manage to use it, he dont have the passive healing the Healing Signet provides for 16-20 seconds.

Poison is a counter to healing signet and if the warrior tries to use the signet to heal himself against a power build you can interrupt him. If you dont manage to do that, dont worry, the heal is to low to make a diference against power builds.

Edit: Power builds are also a counter to healing signet.

Lets fix thiefes evades, stealth and burst (surviability and offense), those are broken.
Lets fix all AI Spam across all professions, those are broken.
Lets fix AoE Condition Spam, those are broken.
ANet if you fix the warrior (imo its fine as it is if those issues listed above remain in the game) please fix also all the above.

In the begining people tried to explain how the thief were able do that damage, and the tread was going in a good direction.
Then people started to attack op (dont have any clue what is the class these people play).
There are some good responses here like the one sorrow gives (WvWvW has never and will ever be balanced by design. Deal with that) that fit perfectly to some thieves that QQ on the warrior forums.

First if they are in stealth they are absolutely NO THREAT.

And if a warrior is running from you he is NO THREAT as well, you can see him and you can attack at range.

@ OP:
If the warrior builds for mobility why should you be able to catch him? Were you built for mobility too?
Some class in this game has to have the better escape tools. Warrior has the best running tools but you see him all the time, thiefs have stealth, and you cannot see him doing ports (only the place he starts and the place it arrives, nothing between). Mesmers have stealth/clones/portal to escape if they want.There are diferences in each class for escaping. Some are less viable than others.
One thing that warriors dont have is Z axis movements. Other classes can use the field to escape.
Again why to you think that you must catch a warrior who is running from you and is perfectly build for that? If you would catch him what would be the propose of his build?
Some classes need the movement tools to gap closer/escape. Other classes can do it from range with much more survival tools. You need to think outside the box.

I think people dont need to worry about major warrior changes right now. It seems thief and conditions will be put in line in the next patch and they should be the most reworked. After that we will have 2-3 weeks to see the mesmers and eles como to life again (they are only restrained due to condition meta right now) and hardcounter warriors. Then we will have a good meta. They will probably fix the sigil of para and warrior will be weaker just by doing that.

and s/d has high survivability? most s/d thieves using zerker trinkets… in this case we only have 1,980 armor and 17k hp… and good/pro players can timing and hit S/D evasive thief, how? while they’re casting this Larcenous strike (after FS ) this is their vulnerable state. and they can easily dodge larcenous strike, so we must use it repeatedly in other way or faking, so when a bad or average player who have no idea about this Flanking/Larcenous strike and if they LET s/d thieves dance around em.. they prolly dead!

If they are using zerker trinkets they should have no surviability, only high damage. In the vídeo you have more health than the warrior almost of the time and he is build to bunker.You were also a bunker in that vídeo?

I agree with OP. Next patch balance not only the strongest professions at the moment should be reworked but also the ones that are weaker. But one thing that needs a huge rework its the AI. I want PvP in PvP areas, not PvE.

People get upset with this build because it takes very little skill to master and be effective at. A warrior who just reached level 80 could take people on within an hour of playing around with this build pretty easily. That is why it needs a nerf.

That is not a warrior/build problem. That is a problem with GW2 PvP and some players. When meta changes some people changes to the classes that are stronger and in one hour or less they are winning in PvP. Then you see the classes/builds that are stronger (sometimes OP) and the classes/builds that are ok. How many times you saw that build in PAX? That build is ok.

Stability being a counter for a 4 second Stun on a 7 to 10 second Cooldown is the most hilarious thing in this thread.

I believe the quote of

“Is this Math Republicans tell themselves to feel better?” fits aptly with this thread.

You can also use stunbreakers, blind, evade, dodge…

But with at least one stability and one stunbreak you got 16-20 seconds until he can hit you again with skull crack. And this his if you dont have passive defensive traits that ignore CC. After that you can dodge, evade, blind if you are not in the mood to keep distance while the warrior is with the mace.

The point is this is not enough to make this meta to shift, since direct damage wil never counter a warrior healing 800 hp per sec.

I’m pretty sure the build they are talking about has max 542 hps. Not even always. 474 on average. 575 max with Valkyrie Amulet, 498 on average.

407 heal per sec with heal signet, 396 heal per sec with adrenal health at 3 adrenal bars.

It’s 803 hp per sec.

Unless there is a bug, Adrenal health heals every 3 seconds.

If it was every second (adrenal health) i would agree that it was too strong. In the current meta its fine the way it is now, but as soon ANet fix conditions they should tone down Healing signet to balance with the new strenght of conditions.

Those are indeed hard counters to signet/cc warriors. Of course to use them efectively people need to know how to play. They should not poison the warrior when they have mace equiped and its close to them or if they do they should keep distance, this way the warrior is unable to use cleansing ire. (warrior almost never uses GS burst and mace shield only have one movement skill that is high telegraphed). The warrior cannot strip boons so stability is a very efective hard counter. People just say “the warrior only have to wait for stability to end”. But after that they are going to qq about berserker stance, while they just need to do the same before putting condition burst on the warrior.
Warriors need to know how to fight mesmers, thiefs, necros and so on and people need to know how to fight warriors. Warrior is no more the free kill of gw2.

The gs/mace-shield is not a cheesy build. It takes skill to land the combo (not talking vs noobs). Against a player like you (a good player) that build could be nearly enefective without skill.
I didn´t run your build yet because i cannot play right now so i could be saying some thing that is not 100% correct, so forgive if that is the case.
This is my opinion:
Your build require less target proximity to land the “combo”. So in fact it could be easier to land damage than the gs/mace-shield build. The diference is that your build has less mobility than gs/mace-shield, but offers more sustain because you have two bursts you can use to damage/clear conditions and both are AOE. It could provide better defense (stun, kd, blind and immo) than gs/m-sh (stun/ block/evade), because when you block you cannot do damage and people are able to chase you, and better damage output. But in my opinion it will not be more harder to play than the rest of builds we have. So i do not agree when you call the other builds cheesy and not this one.
In my opinion all of them require a good amount of skill play to be used efectively in team fights. Your build is even more easy to use in team fights and offers more than the rest of them.

But i could be wrong.

I was on the thief forum and the OP created a tread like this there. With the exception of OP, thiefes dont see this warrior build to be hard to beat.

Thats funny because most of the time you have more health than that warrior and you are not build tanky…

Signet of Might could ignore Blind.

I hope you mean the active effect.

Could work, but I think it would have to come with a reduction to the amount of unblockable attacks.

Passive effect already works even when Blinded.

The passive efect of signet of might should be blind imunity.

I dont think we need unblockable bursts. Instead, other professions should have to make a choice in their build in order to have a FEW unblockable hits (like we have). We loose two things to have 5 unblockable attacks (hits) every 20 seconds:
1) You must change your build to have signet of might.
2) you loose 180 strength when you activate the signet.

Other classes have it without investment and dont loose nothing to activate (they dont need too).

Necromancer still have better than us. They have to trait for the unblockable marks but they are not restricted to 5 (hits) every 20 seconds.
If a warrior hits 5 enemys with earthshaker he will use all unblockable attacks in only one attack, because the signet dont count attacks but counts hits instead.

Well, imo they can nerf w/e at this moment. Mesmer can not be worse then now.

We can not create phantasms (our 1/3+ source of damage in almost any) build if target dodged, if we blinded (hi thiefs), without a target (hi thiefs again). We got thery poor condition removers, and even 1h sword attaks was nerfed (that was shock for me, cause i compared with other class sword attack damage).

So, really – it can not be worse at this moment. Mesmer = veil bot @ www, now not even portal bot in PvE, and useless guy in sPvP.

Even new confusion runes rock for engi, bot not for mesmer, lol

So… to be honest, we hove nothing to loose, and arena.net will boost us only when there will be almost no mesmers at all.

Dont worry. After the meta changes again to what it was before mesmers will rise again. ANet dont need to do nothing except to nerf conditions (as it should).
