I think a better direction this thread should take is ‘buff warrior melee uptime & sustain’. Haha.
Anet already said that warriors need to be fixed, so they already know that warrior are the weakest class in PvP. Nothing new there.
But warrior is not the only melee profession that needs to be buffed in some way to be able to stand a chance against kitten professions.
The best duelist professions in the game are not melee. That says a lot.
D/D elementalist
Elementalist is not a pure melee class (its a scholar class) and D/D elementalist have almost all skills with 300+ range. Its melee but its a better melee than the rest (well maybe except for thief, but i will never understand the why for the range of their skills).
The same way that warrior cannot be superior in AOE to the elementalist, the elementalist should not be stronger than warrior on melee. This happens because its so easy for them to kitten melee classes, even if they fight with melee weapons, they can aproach and leave as they want, but other classes cannot do that.
The problem is not only with elementalists, its the same with other professions that relie on kitten to fight and right now there is no balance to the other classes to put them in line with that kind of fight.
I agree with you with the duration of conditions being to high. That means you should have at least one condition removal with low recharge time. The problem is you use that condition removal to clean on contition and 1 or 2 sec later you have it again (and even more) on you. If a condition is so easely aplied it should have shorter durations.
Right now there are problems with some classes in PvP but Anet is trying to bring the other profession in line with those OP right now. It takes time.

The raw damage that melee professions can output can be nasty, but the ranged professions in this game can avoid that with no problem at all. The problem is that not being equal in the other way. Melee professions have hard time avoiding the ranged atacks. The best duelist professions in the game are not melee. That says a lot.
Leaderboards dont mean nothing the way they are now. OP professions will be more on Top than others and premades will be on Top also. Nothing about the real skill of the players is show there.
This class is indeed dead for PvP (not WvW because of zergfest). But Anet wants to improve the warrior and i think it will be fine and I will not accept less that. ( just look how they improve the enginers).
After ANet fix the warrior and if we remain UP against the GOD Professions that ANet like so much, its time not to switch character, but switch the game. I like balance and play fair. I like to play equal and if i lose one match i want to feel that the others were better. Right now its not the skill that matters but the professions you choose.
Warrior right now only help other professions destroying their targets. In 1v1 will lose 90% of times.
Weak condition removal
Weak movement skills (this is even more relevant because all of them are afected by slows)
Lots of weak utilities ( have some (few) good with huge cooldows)
Weak synergie with traits.
And dont forget that warrior has to be close to do damage (taking lots of damage) and he is so slow when he attacks (most predictable profession in the game).
Worst penalty when using quikness.
Cannot reset fights (they will always reach you if they want, you can escape if they let you)
Lets see the thief, that profession have always available one or more gap closers, so if you evade them they will almost instantly reach you again. Warrior is not even NEAR that.

If this is implemented then someone needs to decide which skills should be dodgeable based entirely on reaction time. let’s assume that your standard player can react to a skill activation bar in .4 seconds.
Should you be able to react to all stuns?
Should you be able to react to only a certain number of stuns per class?
Should you be not be able to react to any stuns?
Should cast time be proportional to stun duration?
Stuns includes all redundant effects.
React essentially means “should any of these skills have a cast time greater than .4-.5 seconds?”
- In my own opinion all attacks should allow to be dodged. Same with blocks, one bad addition to the game is some attacks being unblocable.
But for that to work is necessary that animations be clear and today that doesn’t happen.

You need to understand that professions that have more escapes, defensive buffs or more healing/condition removal dont have many problems with mesmers. Those professions are more suited for pvp than the others. Thats why people that play them will often tell you that mesmers are not a problem (for them).
But for the UP professions mesmer is very, very hard to beat. (i have more problems with condition mesmers)
I believe that Illusionary Berserker is not OP. What is needed is to bring the others professions in line. Right now you have 1 OP profession 1 almost OP profession 2 or 3 good professions and the rest of them.
Warrior is the class with the worst drawback when using quickness.
People ususaly use quickness to deal damage, stomp, ress. They dont use quickness to heal or to dodge. Warrior takes 50% more damage while in frenzy and dont forget that warrior ususaly is in the middle of fight so is afected by lots of damage. Ranger can´t heal while using quickness (they use quickness to deal damage, not to heal, same as us) and thief get their endurance drained and endurance regeneration halted (they have stealth to get away). So in my opinion the only profession that is truly hurt by the drawback of quikness is the warrior.
Weak longbow damage?
My longbow F1 skill deals 800-1100 damage every pulse and Arcing Arrow deals 4000-5000 damage (both AOE). Then you can switch for hammer and cc the enemy. I find myself dead a lot more often when i switch to hammer, lots of conditions, retaliation and direct damage ususaly put me down fast.
Of course the others skills suck on longbow (Except pin down with the latest change on that skill, but its single target with little use on zergs fights)
The banners should give us protection, retaliation and condition removal every x seconds.
Yeah..once again we got nerfed hard, but hey..at least we have improved banners and kick!

Warr were already OP, didnt need these buffs. Besides, the ranger for example, got LESS improve on the quickess duration, so comparing to other classes, your quickess got more powerful. SO EVEN in the quickess that you’re complaning about, warr got yet another unsecessary advantage. shameful.
Warrior is OP in PvE not in PvP. In fact there is a post made by the PvP players showing just that.

Well, warrior is know for being a one trick pony. Now that they nerf that I just wanted to know what will they give us in the future to bring us up in line with the other professions…
Like portal are for mesmers, Pets for rangers, Turrets for Engeniers and so on, the Banners are unique to warriors. With so many lacks in the warriors builds and sustain i would like to see some adjustments to banners.
I would like banners to grant the folowing:
Banner of defense:
Add 90 thougness (or more acording to the next patch) and 5 sec of protection every 10-15 seconds.
Banner od Tactics:
Add 90 to healing (or more acording to the next patch) and heal for 1000-2000 hp every 5-10 seconds.
Banner of Discipline:
Add 10% more critical damage and add 5 seconds of fury every 10-15 seconds.
Banner of Strength:
Add 90 to strength (or more acording to the next patch) and 5 seconds of retaliation every 10-15 seconds.
All this while banners being portable while using our own weapons skills.
Well if it only hapens sometimes and in specific situations (right after deselecting the target) auto target should be deactivated. I have some issues like cliking on the ground to do the same as you and if there is a enemy or friendly near the spot when i click i select that person instead.
I also notice that sometimes when i dodge on one direction the charater dodge to the oposite direction that i want.
Your situation only hapens to me when i click on the ground to desengage and then leap and for some reason the target still is there when i press the leap.

- Why the enemy zerg dont use a broken mechanic like “portal” to clear the ACs first and get your forces from behind or from the sides?
If i see one enemy zerg stand in one place all together i already know that there are necro fields averywhere and they have already stack retaliation and might while are prepared to use heals and condition removals for all. Going there is just to ask to be farmed. This is worst than the AC. Still people can get around of it with some tactics.
This is the same, its just another thing to plan before assalting something or some force. And it can be used by all.
Mesmers have is how utility on WvW. Guardians and Eles have the hability to defend siege against other siege. Warriors now also have one utility.

PvP sucks because the balance is weak.
When the profession you play is more important than the skill you have then the game is not working properly and its not fun.
Look at warrior: so good to deal damage but could he in fact land the damage in a target before being dead? (just see how others are able to land their burst and compare)
For most people thats is fine because they play the professions that are well designed for PvP. Can escape, can heal, can do some impressive burst. But not all can do that and all should have some escape mechanics unique to each profession.
All should have stealth in some way: Rangers and warriors should be able to use camoflage for example.
Right now the battles in PvP dont seem fair and people usualy dont like to be beaten by OP classes.
Its a sad day for warriors when people realise that the only way they become OP its while they fight with siege….
When i rush with my warrior to the middle of an enemy group and i die because of fields and retaliation in 2 sec or less thats is OK for the most people. (L2 kitten ue)
When a mesmer drops a portal on your side and one enemy zerg put out fields and retaliation right away and you are dead in less than 2 sec thats OK too. Nothing of gamebracking this far. (L2 kitten ue)
But when a warrior immobilize someone that is gamebreaking??? At least with arrow carts people can use condition removal and DODGE out of there.
Try to do that in those fields and see the diference.
The problem is:
One warrior with one arrow cart can’t do much, but 5 warriors its ANOYING)
One necro, mesmer, ele without any siege cant do much, but 5 off them its GAMEBREAKING even without any siege).
I would like to see it as a shout. You could use it for remove conditions, heal yourself and still have a -20% recharge rate.
Just put the CnD with a 20 sec cooldown on the stealth. You will be able to use the skill when you want but only will give stealth 20 sec after the first use. That way you will use it when you realy need.
I agree with the warrior observations from Creld.8702 and Empathetic Fighter.2065. Thats the class i play and i can see that on the battlefields. Warriors can also be used for suport but they dont make the diference at it.

Elementalist can also give strong AOE heals. Staff ele is great in big numbers even for dps.
Off. Autoattack works better on ranged weapons and some professions take good advantage of it while others (melee ones) strugle to use it. It should be off to all.
I hope they will give us the new ascended gear from Badges in the next patch. I was tired of waiting and just spent my 2500+ badges in Invaders armour and weapons. At least dont have to grind AC Exploration to have PVT gear.
That is a problem that can hapen to others. It should be fixed by ANet. At least it should be a confirmation box.

AOE needs to be towned down, thats a fact. AOE that dont require a target, dont put yourself at risk when you target the ground and have long durations should be nerfed.
Some classes put AOE and just leave the place but the AOE is still there hititng targets.

AoE DPS should always be weaker than single target DPS. If you count all the damage a single AoE do to 5 targets you could get more than 20K of damage. if you see a warrior doing kill shots for that amount of damage he wont be doing anything else.
Eles can use dragon’s tooth or meteor for a big amount of AoE damage and then switch to other attunements and keep doing damage while being away from the target.
There must be a balance with damage and risk taken.
Just to be simple:
AOE = 5targets max
HB = 3targets max
HB is not AOE.

Agree with OP on this. Blind should do something. It should be removed after the blinded character hit the target and if the target only gets hit by the blast, the blast should miss.

Hi everyone.
Playing a warrior has my main character gives me the impression that we have to chase everything just to be able to hit something. We lack good gap closers and its easy to run away from us or just keeping us at large while we are damaged from range.
I think that a change in the longbow skill “Pin Down”, instead of immobilizing if actually pulled the target to you its a good change.
It would be useful in sieges and to catch the opponents that cripple us and chill us in a fight.
Whats your opinion?

ANet have to do a lot more balance patches to address all the unfair fights we see in PvP. But don’t forget that balance is not easy to achieve. There are skills that give a lot more mobility, escapes, damage than others and is hard to reach balance in every profession. But they are trying and the game is new and has time to improve.
Happens a lot of times. In the past patches warrior downstate was even worst for me. Imagine when you are with your health half full or more in downed state mode and you press vengeance… and you die… Went to see the combat log and nothing was there to justify that and no banner near your corpse so you know that nobody in stealth finish you off. This happened to me a lot of times but its better now. Throw rock don’t work 50% of times (or more) and when someone put me in downstate mode the menu with the skills takes ages to show on the screen and i don’t have time to use throw rock on anyone because the animation is too slow. The camera 50% of times put me looking on the opposite direction of who put me in downed state so i need to rotate the camera to select the opponent. When you are in DS mode and are looking for a weak and low health target and you click on it, if another player is near him a usually get the other player targeted. Lots of things are wrong with Downed state of the warrior.

I have a doubt about getting the Superior Rune of Lyssa. It´s possible to craft this Rune? I see it in the TP for about a litlle more of 3 gold each, but dont see how to get the rune without buying it.
I want to aplly the rune to to my armour, but dont have the gold to buy the 6 pieces so i spent some karma to buy the cultural armour with the objective to salvage the runes for my personal armour. The problem is that i am unable to salvage the cultural armour with the BL salvage kit (or with other salvage kit). So how people are getting this runes?
I see some people using this rune with their personal armour, so there must be a way to get them.

When you get a class that can do a lot against all other classes the last thing you want is that class to be nerfed.
Forget this post and try to create one were all people see it to take advantage of the opinion of all classes, not only mesmers.

The reward should be much better. All the rewards that are given in Fort Trinity were useless for me. I choosed a longbow with stats i dont need just to spend the reward. Later i bought a new (exotic one). By the way, even before the final mission i already had weapons from drops better than those rewards.
Playing warrior is only easy on PvE. A good warrior in PvP is a skilfull player and it´s not easy at all. If you want to test your skills just choose warrior.
If you want to do only PvE a warrior is a little better in my opinion. If you are planing to do also some PvP the thief is far superior in damage output (conditions or pure damage) and escapes. If you want do try some PvE and PvP a Thief is a better choise.
Guardian in its current state is much better than the Warrior. But if you like to fight tough and put your skills into test then you should choose the warrior (you will die more often). Warrior for dungeons and overal PvE is very good. There are some builds realy good for them. This is only for PvE. Dont think you will rule PvP with warrior because you will not. If you want to do some PvP, then choose the Guardian.
Do someone notice that other classes ranged attack (elementalist and mesmer) don’t miss? The projectile is corrected to the target position… So why others are diferent?
I will never understand why is “all” given to some professions and “few” is given to others.
Cool…. Nobody here talked about the warrior downstate that usualy 95% of times is useless in WvW and even in that 5% chance of being able to use vengeance, if you are not traited you will probably die…
In my opinion just put the downstate equal to all professions. I´m tired to put a player in downstate and he gets away right after to his zerg, tower os castle. Just give all professions the downstate of the warrior and love the diference.
By the way i love the downstate mechanics and i would like it to stay, just in diferent formats.
