That is a issue that ANet will have to fix someday. Not only with thief. They need to nerf the damage to classes, skills with low risk/high reward. Someday they will do it.

Nice play.
But i must say that it was the player and not the class who won the fight. You avoided all his moves but if the thief were as good as you and manage to do the same (he can do that more easely than you) you would never win that fight.

Moa morph right now its one of the strongest Elites in the game.

3 defending a point- 3 attacking the point (the number here is not that relevant). Who has Moa morph can turn the match in a 2v3 or a 3v2. Kill the others as soon as possible and then proced to kill the one that was Moa Morphed.

This elite can absolutely change the tide of a teamfight. and on 1v1 its almost a win.

You should be able to do that. SoM is not working properly.
Its easy to test on the mist where the golems stand all together.

Are any of them blocking though? Last I looked there were a whole lot standing around, and one which does a spinning attack at nothing in particular.

The SoM gives 3 unblockable attacks. They dont need to be blocking the attack for you to use those attacks. Just use SoM with one AoE skill on the golems and you will lose all attacks just by attacking once.

Here let me enlighten you. Unblockables, meaning its a counter to block which if you use earthshaker hit 3 people, 3 people`s block got unblocked.

and why blind will make you miss those 3 people? because YOU are the only who got blinded when YOU are using that skill.

want an example?

there’s 5 targets all lined up. and you have a gun with one bullet, normally it would hit pierce one target, but with an improved bullet you can pierce up to 3 targets, and when you are blinded and missed your shot ofc you gonna miss all 5 targets.

You should read the description of SoM and Blind first. Talks about attacks, not number of hits. When you use a rifle and are blinded you will miss that attack, the numbers of hits are irrelevant, you will miss all because you are affected by blind for that attack only.
SoM gives 3 unblockable attacks but right now gives 3 unblockable hits instead. There is a huge diference in that. Now they should change the description or the functionality of SoM or Blind.

SoM is still a meh choice, rather than a meager 3 unblockable attacks I’d rather have 5 seconds of unblockable attacks or some blind immunity. Although blind Immunity on a skill like Berserker Stance would make it actually worth taking as well.

I’d rather have unblockable attacks in our skills and traits like other classes have instead of waste a utility slot do have a Signet that dont even work properly. Dont forguet that we lose the passive efect of the signet when we activate it and other classes have unblockable attacks without losing any stats.

You can do damage, the problem is they dont even need to focus on you to kill you . I understand who goes full zerker as a warrior to tPvP because warriors have lack of defense so they need to kill as quickly as they can before turning into free kills. If you face pugs they wont comunicate and tell each other to focus on you, but if you face premades you wont stand a chance.
Of course is only my opinion.

I already post this in the bug section but i didn’t get a response so i will put it here where i believe at least some dev will see and answer.

I will compare the signet of might with the blind condition.

Signet of might:
Passive: Improves power.
Active: Your attacks are unblockable.
Passive effect: 180 power
Unblockable: 10 s
NUMBER OF ATTACKS: 3 (THREE)

Blind:
NEXT OUTGOING ATTACK misses; stacks duration

My doubt here is:

If i use a AOE skill when i´m blinded i will miss everyone inside the AOE radius. So if i use earthshaker i will miss everyone. In this case earhtshaker counts as only ONE attack.

BUT
If i use the Signet of Might (3 unblockable attacks) and then use earthshaker (or another AOE skill), if there are 3+ people inside the AOE radius i will lose the 3 unblockable attacks in that skill. In this case earthshaker count as 3+ attacks.

So whats the reason behind this? Why with blind the attack count as 1 and with the Signet not?

Is there some bug with the Signet of Might or with Blind?

In my opinion stealth is fine, just need some adjustments when losing target, it should work also for the stealth player, and only be able to target again when get out of stealth.

totaly agree with OP. It gives a huge advantage to some classes because the player needs to target the player many times and whe he does that he is not atacking.

Solution:
The players when go in stealth should lose target as well and only could be able to target again when revealed. Its fair for both sides

Anet Forget that when they created thieves skills. Thieves dont need to bring anyone.

Thieves are the ones till now that received the biguest buff in the game with larcenous strike.
Being able to steal protection and regeneration, gives them a 33% damage increased against that target and a 33% reduction in the damage they take from all enemys, plus regeneration and with the stealth, teleport, blind, unblockable sistem in their weapons skills they dont have a hard time fighting other classes, but i dont think that they be nerfed anytime soon.
Just wait till they buff your class and see if you can manage better than now.

I wouldn´t like the game to have action bars as GW1, but i understand who wants them. The game should have the option in the client to put all races with the same size (view option). This way if you want to play with a Asura character it wont be a problem for you and for others, you will see your model small size and the others will see it human size.
If they put action bars in the game please give the option to turn them off. I dont want more litle things to pay atention in the game.

I dont know the traits/utilities of the necro class. I apologize in advance if i write something incorrect. My opinion is:
Necro should have a signet to give them full life force (but with a longer CD on it, DS is much powerfull to be able to stay alive than warriors adrenaline).
Warriors have several traits to give adrenaline, a signet and a stance. You should be able to have access to some sort of life force gain. But like warrior, necro should have to choose some traits and utilities to have access to that, losing other cool stufs.
Warrior adrelanine is also always empty at start of each match, the diference is that we have ways to gain adrenaline right after the match starts (at a cost of traits and/or utilities).
Necros also shouldn’t have it for free, but they need something to do that if they want.

I wont deny that I´m a noob with the warrior, but lack of gap closers? O.o
Every melee weapon except for mace (that should be fixed) has a gap closer. That means a common minimum of 2 and a max of 4 only with weapons, which really shine with the “mobile strikes” trait. (axe 2 and 5 should be affected by this trait 2 in my opinion)


I have felt that warriors biggest problems are: no condition removal and no effective healing. Being as offensive as they are by concept I have always felt that a lifesteal mechanic is one of the best ways of solving the sustain problem. It can even be attached to the burst mechanic, giving you more LS with more adrenalin and making more meaningful spending/recovering it. (OFC some lackluster burst attacks should be fixed)

Mobile strikes works with immo. Not with chill and criple.
You can have a ton of gap closers, if they dont put you in your target they are useless. Warrior is the class that fell this the most. We dont have blinks, ports, push, steal (i know we have a underwater push) and our mellee skills range are 95% at 130. So you will not get to the target and you will not hit him.

I play a Necromancer and about mobility, they are way, way worse then warrior. I’ll answer all you points.

1) I use stunbreakers, not stability. Few people bring stability over stunbreakers.
2) Every gap closer is affected by snares. It is a problem of every melee class, not only warrior.
3) Shake It Off is on 25 seconds cooldown. Mending is on 25s cooldown. Average Chill (I don’t believe you consider Cripple as an incredibly hard snare) is on 4s. Just wait till it finishes or use your condition cleansing and carry on. 2 condition cleansing on 25s is quite much for every profession.
4) Read above.
5) Rifle do sweet damage too, I heard.
6) It is the same about Necromancers, with the only difference warriors have some invulnerability and blocks.
7) Sword has the longest lasting autoattack bleed in the game. Warrior have also the longest lasting “bleed on critical” trait. Impale and Riposte also gives some sweet bleed stacks. Rifle’s Bleeding Shot’s bleeding isn’t also that bad. Warrior have also access to burning (quite reliable also), despite Necromancers.
8) Mending and Healing Surge doesn’t look that bad to be honest. What do you mean with “bad”?
9) I don’t think anyone is running with pets in PvP. I still have to see any Guardian with spirit weapon or Necro with minions. Also, 30s of thieves guild every 180s is that gamebreaking?
10) Is Signet of Rage weak? :O 30s fury, might and swiftness is weak?

I didn´t say necros have it better than us.

1) All i said is true, if you find a target with stability your build (CC build) wont do anything. We have a stunbreaker that gives stability. The others stunbreakers we have dont protect us form being stunlocked. Its good to take two stunbreakers.
2) Every melee profession has some “sort” of gap closers but warriors are the most afected (no ports, steal, push). Thieves and guardians dont have many problems with this point.
3) Do we need to talk about Conditional removal on warrior? Its already know the we have the worst of them. (its intended to be so). Still its true what i said. Some classes have easy acess to snares and a good amount of them. The problem is (see point 2).
4) while rifle does good damage we dont have spamable/instant killshots to kill on instant or ports when things go bad. Rifle is single damage (it could Pierce but its not a guaranted AOE weapon).
5) Necros are beter bunkers than warrior without those two things. That depends on the build and how they play. Warriors dont have a single invulnerability skill. Shield stance can be removed with fear (Its easy for necros to fight a warrior, just put snares and other conditions till he die)
6) I tried to make a Condition warrior and even with burning and bleeds you do more damage going full berserker. Long lasting conditions wont take you anywere if the other class have good access to conditional removal.
7) Our heals dont heal enough for the damage we usualy take/cannot avoid.
8) Are you talking in TPvP? In SPvP there are lots of pets, minions, spirit weapons, and turrets. I didn´t say thives guild was gamebreaking. I said that warrior has to deal with lots of enemys even if it only fights one person. Other classes just worry about the warrior only.
9) Signet of rage is used manly for the speed. Imagine warrior with:
Thief – Guild of thieves; Dagger Storm
Guardian: Tome of Courage; Renewed Focus
Engenier: Supply Crate (this one is realy strong you need to dogde/block lots of things)
Ranger: Entangle, Rampage As One (Entangle is also very strong)
Elementalist: Glyph of Elementals; Tornado
Mesmer: Mass Invisibility, Moa Morph,Time Warp (moa morph makes the duel so much easy to the mesmer)
Necromancer: Lich Form, Summon Flesh Golem (Lich form hits very hard)

So signet of rage is prety weak imo.

First of all @ the OP.
Against normal/good players (even in sPvP)
1) You got a build that is almost CC. If you get some enemy with stability you will do nothing to them (you should have also stabilty otherwise its you you are stunlock to dead by other classes, but now thieves can steal even that from you).
2) Gap closers – Warrior gap closers are afected by snares (and they miss a lot of times). If you try to use earthshaker or any other movement skill when you are snared you wont reach your target, so you will spend most of the times chassing (and never catching) your target. Other classes can do way better.
3) Condition removal – you clean your snare and you are snared again in 1, 2 sec max. And the other conditions will eat you alive.
4) Damage – Warrior can do some good damage but as i said above he will never reach his target to land enough damage to kill him. Landing the damage a warrior can do is a big chalenge.
5) High risk/Low reward – Warrior needs to be in mellee range to use almost all their weapons skills, puting the warrior on the fields, marks, traps other players left there. Once you enter probably you wont get out of there. (just for spaw point of course)
6) defenses – Having a good health pool and high thougness without invulnerability, blinks, clones, ports, protection is just a way for last about +5sec (endure pain can give you +4 sec of life if you dont have contitions only) in battle. You cannot escape a battle when you are in disadvantage, you will die and give points to the enemy.
7) Conditions damage – Warrior dont have enough conditions to be viable as a condition damager class.
8) Warrior dont have good healing abilities. (they are between weak/average). This with the low escape abilites and the low damage avoidance is truly bad)
9) Warrior fights against multiple enemys at the time (ranger and his pet, necro and his minnions, thieve and his guildies, mesmers and their clones, Guardians and their spirit weapons, enginier and his turrets) All of them only have to worry about one target only – The warrior)
10) Weak elites in PvP (warrior dont have a single elite that can use to give him advantage in a fight like other professions have).

There are more points but these should be enough to clarify some things about warriors in PvP.

or
Grandmaster Trait with: All physical skills are unblockable.

Or treat us equaly and put some wepons skills with the unblockable status like others have without traits and signets.

As a guardian, I wouldn’t mind if they retooled that signet to be something meaningful and gave warriors the unblockable ability tied to their burst. Would mean they could land everything correctly everytime. Though, that could be OP if it also ignored dodge… Kill shot would land each time. O_O

Its a good sugestion. I agree with you when you said people should be able to dodge (this is the skill of the player).

I Forget to mention before but the fact that you loose the passive efect of the signet its a big drawback. Other classes have it also without that drawback.

Other classes shouldn´t have it too but they have it and have it far better than warrior. The problem is be abble to port, acess to stunbreakers, unblockable attacks and more cool stuff without utilitys.
A Warrior who wants acess to stunbreaks and unblockable attacks has to use 2 utilities for that while other classes can work on their builds with less preocupations using all their utilities for other things.

This will only change when ANet starts to give warriors ways to do better without using utilities (like others can do)

I was not talking about thieves only.
Both warriors and thieves have ways to land unblockable attacks but one has to give up one utility to do that. Thieves also have stunbreakers on their weapons skills. We need to have utilitys to resist some CC. Its a big diference on build diversity.

This ability is crap. It only lets throw 3single attacks within the next 10sec.

It doesn’t interrupt blocking if you use a hammer for example..

A guardian’s WEAPON skills line of warding or circle of warding do interrupt blocking

This was mentioned since it was introduced but the devs are too busy advertising for ‘esport’ on the forums/twitter to introduce meaningful class fixes.

And the signet seems to be bugged:
If you are blinded (next attack misses) and you use earthshaker you will miss all targets inside the radius. So it seems that earthshaker counts as only one attack, other wise you should only miss one target from all inside the skill radius.
But if you use the signet (whithout blind off course) and do the same you will loose the 3 unblockable attacks all at once if you hit 3+ targets in the radius. In this situation, one earthshaker is equal to 3+ attacks?

The topic says it all. Why warrior have to spent one utility spot to have 3 unblockable attacks (and its bugged btw) while other classes have it on their skills for free on some key skills?

Notice this hapens too with the signet of might. When you use signet of might (active efect) and do 1 (one only) AOE skill you will use all 3 unblockable attacks if you hit 3 or more targets in that AOE (ex. earthshaker). By the same rule, if you are blinded you will miss all targets but you should only miss one.

Can you fix that please?

Sorry dudes, but if the last patch is indicative of anything its that anet seems to think warrior’s need more damage, so I doubt they’ll be getting around to actually addressing whats wrong with the class anytime soon.

I’ve pretty much walked away from this class now that my guardian is 80. I only keep this toon around for map completion and dungeons. Otherwise its tedious in wvw and downright frustrating in pvp.

Props to those who are gonna stick it out, but I’m done with the warrior.

A wise man speaks. You can’t blame us for trying. You know something’s wrong when you see the forum posts on front page literally half of them are asking for issues to be fixed. Honestly. Look at the forum posts right now. Either I got everyone in a stir frenzy or they’re just upset at how bad we’re designed. I hear you. I tried moving to guard but couldn’t give up perma swiftness XD. Stay tuned for my matale 2.0 video. It will show what a true underdog can do with a great build.

Warriors should have less damage. More mobility damage.

(Faster Casting/Recovery, Less Damage, Able to move while channeling.)

If I recall doesn’t that make us like thieves or rangers, but in heavy armor? Yeah warriors could use some mobility, but remember they’re are a profession that mainly specialize in close in combat. If anything they should have some protection, vigor boons and of course what has been stated for 8 months long going on 9 months. Close to a year ain’t it?

That will not make us thiefs or rangers. Thiefs have high burst with high mobility. he is asking for lower damage and better mobility. Not the same.
And rangers have high survivability and evades, and he is asking for mobility.

Even in this case you need to get to the enemy to kick him, puting the warrior in the marks/fields/traps the enemy just put on that point. Its a kick that leads to your death. Btw its a skill with very low range.

I must agree that elementalist elites are by far the weekest on the list i wrote, but they can still be more usefull than warrior ones.

If we had elites like Dagger Storm, Supply Crate, Entangle, Moa Morph, Lich Form or Renewed Focus i belive we could be a lot better at pvp.
But elites is not the only problem. The biger problem is the amount of damage/CC that a warrior takes AT RANGE. We have some ranged weapons that not offer one single CC ranged skill. We need to always get on the marks/fields to fight against someone, but we are the weakest class in condition removal. (runes are not class specific and you sacrífice a lot just to use them (traits and utilities)).
My opinion is that PvP has it is now is not made for warrior.

This is only my opinion on PvP, not PvE.

Playing PvP seams 1vmany with all the minions, pets, clones, spirit weapons. We can’t only fight against one target even if there is only another profession to deal but instead we must find the real mesmer, destroy minions or avoid spirit weapons and ranger pets, while their masters do damage to the warrior having CC/damage at distance and they only worry about one target only.

In adiction to the above i would like to say that almost every profession in the game has one elite skill that can change a battle (does the job for that profession) for the conquest of one spot, except warrior… They can easely kite wile they pets/minions/spirit weapons/Guild of thiefs/clones/turrets do their job and beside they have elites far superior to the warrior ones.

Are exemple of those elites:

Thief – Guild of thiefs; Dagger Storm
Guardian: Tome of Courage; Renewed Focus
Engenier: Supply Crate (this one is realy strong you need to dogde/block lots of things)
Ranger: Entangle, Rampage As One (Entangle is also very strong)

But there is none warrior elite that gives him advantage in the heat of battle. Not only one elite can match those elites above.

Beside that we can´t be efective dealing damage because its very hard to land a hit when you find good oponents. Every profession can mitigate damage better than warrior (endless doges, avoids, blocks, invulnerabilty, pets, regeneration, defensive CC).

If we cannot land the damage we can do and if we dont have any elite to give us what we need to change the tide of batle like other professions have we will be always the worst class in pvp.

And dont forget that almost every profession can finish a downed player without problems because they have skils/utilities that alow them to do that. Even in that warrior is the worst of all…

You said what i think about the warrior class in PvP. It is much harder to do the same things others professions can do and you need to stay alive to try to do that.
The biggest problem in this game is the damage/CC you take without the other profession be at your range, but that dont work in the same way for warriors.
If you could land your damage/CC without going into the enemy fields/marks we should be more stronger that we actualy are. You have a insane number of damage/CC that other professions can execute that dont require to be at your side to land the hit.
Warrior is a mess in PvP because this game (PvP) was not made for warriors.

Bug with Blind?

If i´m blind and i use a AOE attack i will miss everyone in the AOE area.
If i use a sigil that grant poison in the next attack, after switch weapons the AOE attack will only poison on target in all of them that are hit.

Is there a bug with blind or with the sigil? Or is the description of the sigil incomplete?

Give warriors smoke fields

I would like warrior to have access to smoke fields on the skills. We should have some Skill that allow us to stomp, avoid damage like other professions can do. Right now we can only use stability and it takes a utility slot or a trait (the last its unreliable because you cannot choose when to activate the trait) , and if the other team is competent they just dps the warrior to dead in 2-3 sec.
Right now warrior its the easiest class to defeat. That could be some help to let warrior reach the other professions capabilities.
I think that warrior should have also some kind of camoflage utility slot. Its a warrior and warriors should have camoflage to execute tactical attacks or to survive.

Updated skill facts to show the passive effect and accurately display the healing value for the active effect.

They buffed healing signet to much

No they didn’t. The regeneration data stayed the same, but the active received a nerf. Before the patch I was able to heal for 4234 and using the tactics banner it raised to 4454.
Now it heals for 3757 and with tactics banner 3842.

Edit: If anything it gotten worst lol.

So Anet says the healing signet should see some use and then they nerf it?

Good job. Next step… Do the same to all other classes that are WORST than us.

Lets fix the Warrior hammer.

I would like to see the 3th movement of the nº1 auto attack to inflict blinds. It would help in the heat of the battle, that is were the warrior usualy is. The rest of the skills should have a decrease in casting time, or make them less obvious to others players.

Please Fix Mobile Strikes.

I dont believe that Mobile Strikes should remove chill. I believe it should give imunity to immo while the movement skill is on. Its no sense to use a movement skill, lose the immo and right after you are immo again.

Contrary to those who say hostile enemies can see a commander tag, they can’t.

They can, like in WvW, see the buff on your buff bar but not the actual blue icon.

Well first of all if the enemy can see your Comander Icon Anet needs to address (fix) that. Second, i usualy do PvP in the mists and in WvWvW and i already have found very good players on both sides, so i dont see any problem in being a WvWvW player and being in the mists doing some PvP.
If someone thinks that you cannot use your comander icon (when the other team dont see it), tell them do clear all their armour except the default one, because they can´t wear what they have won also.
You also can block them. Some people just dont deserve to be listen.

New meta will not have blocks because blocks will be useless with the upcoming signet buffs.
Only professions that dont need blocks to stay alive will be on the next meta…

In this SotG i would like someone to ask the devs what they will do to the warrior to put him in line with the other professions, They will do the same they did do engeniers last patch or Warrior dont deserve that kind of attention?

When is coming the AOE nerf and how it will work.
