I dont know anyone who has the dungeoneer title. But i know plenty of people with hundreds of repeated hobby dungeon. Dungeoneer is a PvP title. Very few dungeon runners have it at this point. And very few think its worth grinding for.
The only collection i and many others got completed instantly was arah. And the only other one i have completed is CM because i grinded it for the assassin trinket.

The legends are more about utility than what type of gear you will use. So for PvE you might not even use the power legend but you would still use berserkers. And this is simply because the other legends have better utility.
This. It is pretty sure that the last two legends are Shiro (so mobility/thief stuff) and Glint (no clue, but it’ll be dragon-y).
Glint i can understand but why is shiro so likely?
Prominent and popular major villain from factions. Plus hes the perfect fit for a dps/mobility/assassin type legend. I would be surprised if he wasnt one of the legends. But then again it is still purely speculation so we could be completely wrong.
Its not explicitly stated as disallowed. So you may use it for the time being as it is not trait swap cooldown manipulation. Its just smart utility manipulation. Players do this kind of thing in casual runs without a second thought. Its no different to using all ele weapons to pre stack 25 might out of combat. Or using bone minions to get a free blast and then swapping the utility before detonating the second minion (shame its a useless trick due to the blast always missing fields).
To be honest im not even sure why people voted to disallow the trait swap thing. Then again im a major advocator of the unrestricted ruleset so that might be why.

You can only get rewards from each tier if your personal reward level is high enough to recieve rewards from each tier. If you have personal reward lvl of 20 then you can only get rewards for tier 1-10 and 11-20. If you do a 30 with a personal reward level of 20 the end reward will count as 20 and you wont get an extra daily chest if you already did 20 earlier.
Also tiers are now 1-10, 11-20, 21-30 etc.

Meteor shower too slow to cast!
Unless you start b4 boss becomes hostile obviously.
It shows what version of the game the record was done. Its to confirm it was done with the current version of the game or a build that is still valid to the current meta and not before various balance changes that would cause a record reset. You can see it at the bottom of the options menu.
Back when i saw that calculating burst thread on DnT forums ages ago. I did some quick math for necro and found it about equal/slightly higher than engi in a 10 second period. I may have made some slightly incorrect assumptions but the numbers i saw seemed close enough to correct. It was interesting to see how strong necros frontload burst can be. Shame theres just no space for them in groups. Because their burst can actually be done while also channeling an icebow 4.
Being a pinball to a turret engi while a dps guard wrecked me was fun today.
Yeah and even if we got better hp sustain we would still be bad at attrition. A high hp pool is not suited for an attrition based class (unless we got warrior signet 2.0 but then we would be op at dealing with both burst and drawn out fights). Its suited for burst absorption.
Large HP pool is suitable for absorbing burst. Good restoration of HP pool (regardless of how large) is good for attrition.
Completely true. But only assuming the HP gain is scaled according to HP pool. Say two classes get 100hp per sec sustain. The class with the lower HP pool has better sustain. Assuming they can stay alive with their lack of burst defence. Ideally an attrition class has a lower to moderate hp pool (Hello engi!). Which is why for sustain builds its best to stack healing power and toughness and not vitality.
Also i love how necro has the highest HP pool in the game but also some of the weakest base heal skills in the game. Necro being attrition is such a bad joke. Cant help but smirk everytime its mentioned with seriousness.

A high hp pool is not suited for an attrition based class (unless we got warrior heal signet 2.0, but then we would be op at dealing with both burst and drawn out fights). A large hp pool is better suited for burst absorption not attrition/sustain. Also a lack of damage avoidance does not make sense for an attrition role either. Same for high cooldowns and long cast times. Literally nothing in the necros design suggests attrition.

Our role is attrition. smirks
I know. Thats why i didnt care about getting malicious chests anymore. But its kind of ironic that i finally get one after i dont care for it and after i finally finish my sinister set.
PvE Dungeon Support.
PvE Leech*.
Their stunbreak on elite is no cooldown aswell.
I am curious about that Mace triple blast finisher.
If I use it against a wall, will I lose some of the blasts or will they just stack?
Player vs Corner nevah dieee !
You can probably manipulate it like burning speed and make the blasts cover a shorter distance. I severely doubt anet will fix camera manipulations for HoT. Besides all 3 should hit inside a flamewall for prestacking. So even if the rev misses out on a single blast the rest of the group wont. Wall might also work as you said. But im banking on camera manipulations for triple blasts.

Dont expect me to rep. But feel free to whisper/mail for help and im happy to jump into guild chat if theres some interesting necro convo going. :>
My biggest fear is revenant will force all classes except ele and warrior out of the PvE meta. It looks pretty likely at this point. I wouldnt be surprised with a smoke field and then that means rev can do guard and thiefs job with just one slot. So groups can take an extra ele. I really hope im wrong and that the specialisations really are pretty amazing.
I dont think the lifesteal on hammer is that good. Do you really only want to autoattack?
Funny you should mention this. That hammer auto with the dark field on skill 4 has completely destroyed necros one unique use in all of PvE. And that was dark field + icebow 2 spam for fast jade maw kills (thief can do it aswell but SR has long cd and isnt enough for jade maw). Looks like i will no longer be rolling necro whenever my group gets jade maw on fractal 50 once HoT releases.
(edited by spoj.9672)
Its not just necro. By the looks of it rev will chuck every class to the dirt except ele, thief and warrior. Warrior is saved because of banners and thief because of stealth. But if rev gets a smoke field you can say goodbye to thieves aswell. Ele obv stays because of damage, icebow and fury stacking.
Someone post a public vote thread. Calling a meeting for a single encounter is a bit much.
Im wondering if we will get a true version of insidious parasite or spiteful spirit and reckless haste. So maybe an attack which taunts and applies quickness and confusion to the target and retal to the caster. kitten i miss hexes.
I kind of agree its not worth the effort. Just give us inspect and then we can kick people who lie their way into groups.
Well yeah but as you know its RNG. That data was collected a while ago. Is there data just from recent months? All i know is I pretty much always get infused rings at 50 and 40. Maybe I should just be greatful they are no longer uninfused every other time? Ive had nothing but rings for the last month of dailies. Got almost another full bank tab of them now (gonna have to move them to an unused character soon). The only other reward i got was a malicious chest. Wanted them for ages (until sinister came out) but always got defender/healers in the past. Ironically it drops right after i completed my ascended sinister set.
Havent seen a skin for about 4 months. And i have only seen about 3 skins drop for other people in my groups in that same period.
Approved. :P
Does anyone have a list of links to all of those threads compiled for Regina handy? The search functionality makes digging them out a nightmare. If not I’ll do it this weekend. Thanks.
Anyway, I didn’t mean to derail the thread.
I was under the impression that they were moved somewhere. Because they all vanished once Regina closed them.
Obviously because theres no fear that lasts as long as deep freeze.
Well its actually pretty much just like energy was for all classes in gw1.
I believe the last CC used is what effects you. In PvE defiant stacks prevent us seeing this interaction. But if you get chain CC’d you get tossed around like a ragdoll. So im guessing if you fear first then taunt. It will fear until taunt is applied and then cancel the fear and switch to taunt. But the fear will probably still tick for its full duration. Kind of like how you can be feared while immobilised. Maybe it will cause them to run towards you but due to the fear they wont auto attack.
You can see the opposite happen from champion giants. If they knock you down and then do a fear. The fear actually cancels your knockdown animation and immediately starts making you run away in fear. Or atleast thats what i remember. I havent experienced that recently so dont quote me on it.

New axe skill is basically a way stronger version of our dark path. Im expecting a lot of new skills to be like other class skills but way better. Just like necro has always had very weak versions of skills compared to other classes.
AXE: Frigid Blitz – This allows the player to hurl an ice axe through the air, chilling everyone (slowing them), and when it reaches the actual highlighted target you teleport to him and do a melee spinning attack that ends up behind the enemy, chilling him too. A key thing Jon noted is that you can use one Axe skill mentioned in the blog to pull together a clump of enemies, and then use this to go through them all and wind up at the rear-most one.
Ive been ignoring metabattle since it first appeared. No idea why people jumped to support it. It was obvious what kind of direction it would eventually take.
I’ve legit never seen a pug group blast smoke like ever. Maybe I’m just unlucky but it’s stuff like that which irks me when pugging :S
The worst is when you are the thief and you put a smokefield down. Then the two eles in the group just stand there and the warrior uses a single warhorn blast.
Its no good knowing how to be better than the pug thieves because noone will blast your smoke fields. So you are forced to SR almost every skip or leave them behind when stealth runs out too quickly. Which is why i started pugging it on ele and just hoped for some smoke fields.
I think communication is key here dudes…
I pug 50 fotm a lot on engi. On a fractal like the asura harpy one, I often use bomb 4 if we have no teef to stealth. I can usually switch out utilities and use elixir s to get around 12-15 seconds alone, but if I just ask in chat often people will blast for me.
This is especially true with napalm on flamethrower. I just call it out and pugs always blast.
Oh dont worry im not overlooking communication. The thieves never listen to “we can use a smoke field ive got lots of blasts” and most groups never listen when i say use blasts on my smoke field. I had a thief who was talking to the group a lot and linking SR when he was using it. I asked him a number of times if he could use a smokefield instead of waiting for SR but he kept insisting on waiting for SR cooldown and ignoring my suggestions. Dungeon pugs are really bad at communication, especially in CM. If you are pugging fractal 50 you are only going to get players with atleast some level of communication which is why it works out alright most of the time there.

You shouldnt be pulling bandits to frost anyway. Stay still in stealth until they stop moving. If pugs dont do this (they dont because almost all of them use SR only and never blast smoke fields) then you shouldnt run straight to him. But yeah it is pretty annoying seeing every pug use the safe spot. Its not even the best safe spot lol.
Thankfully ive now completed my CM collection so i no longer have to suffer through terrible pug tactics in such a pug unfriendly dungeon.
(edited by spoj.9672)
Quickness isn’t necessarily a boon that can be stripped/stolen etc right? Or am I mistaken? Wouldn’t that mean we can’t transfer slow?
Quickness is not a Boon, but Slow is a condition. So yes, we should be able to transfer it.
They said there are improvements to both. So we might see quickness become a proper boon.
Well people advocate things like perplexity builds in pve on classes which have no confusion and barely any interrupts. Builds dont have to make sense in the gametype for people to advocate them for roleplaying reasons. So yeah im calling it even if the taunt access is inconsequential and really low duration.
Also we kind of do know how defiance works. If you go watch the stronghold preview stream you can see how “fear me” interacts with the new defiance bar against the lord. It looks like a very pug friendly system. Basically when a CC is used it removes a portion of the bar but it immediately starts regening. So it will require a bit of coordination so multiple CC’s are needed. We dont know about what happens after a successful CC though. If theres no cooldown i could see stunlocking on bosses becoming a thing.
There hasnt been a patch so why is this suddenly happening now?
I think you people are really overestimating this. Creatures can also use it against players, all it is, is a new CC. And thus would be ignored by stability and defiance.
Defiance will be getting a rework, so we don’t know how CCs will be handled in pve after HoT.
If you watch the stronghold preview you can see exactly how it works when he fights the lord. CC removes a percentage of the defiant bar. In the preview he uses “fear me” and it removes about 70% from the bar and then it starts regening back up quite quickly. So this means people will have to use multiple CC’s at the same time.
We dont know how it works after successfully landing a CC though. Whether there is a cooldown or not.
Thought she only bugged when you broke the bone wall?
Pretty much the same thing.
The bug is done by running out of range towards the bonewall. Once you reach a certain point the bone wall collapses and resets the fight (she reverts to start position). After the fight is reset. Belka will no longer teleport when you next engage. As far as im aware once you have caused this by accident or intentionally there is no way to unbug her other than restarting the instance.
Thing to note is it doesnt actually disable anything other than her teleport. She still kicks, throws the orb, reflects and fire arrows.
(edited by spoj.9672)
Well she bugs just by running out of range. So its kind of hard not to do it in a solo.
Pretty much. The old rules stated fractals should be done on 49. So we are allowing old all time records at 49 to fill out the table. In most cases the damage would be less on 49 and the tactics were less refined anyway. The only old record that i expect not to be beaten easily is the mossman fgs record. But its only an all time record so its not really a big deal. All future fractal records should be done on 50 otherwise they will be rejected.
This is what i was afraid of to be honest. It looks like revenant might satisfy my aethetic needs so i will probably switch to it (ele is fun its just not the style i want). Also its confirmed to already have projectile blocks and serious support options. Its already better than necro.
But Bhawb might be correct. These new technologies for skills on new specialisations is encouraging. So we might see toggle orders and other stuff weve been asking for on the necro specialisation. I hope so anyway. I would also like to see arcane echo on mesmer but thats not really relevant to this topic.
Approved.
It will cause a massive influx of pugs advocating nomads taunt builds though.
And if you use engi you can claim a record.
Im in support of the Fractal Kitten title. Make it happen!
And yes mini dredge clown car is probably the best representation of a fractal frequenter. :>
Yeah im really not seeing a use for perplexity in PvE. Sinister maybe. Perplexity no.
And you literally get nothing out of perplexity other than wasting 60g. :P
Higher fractals reward more relics. So i dont see that as a problem. I do agree it might be good to make the vendor require 50+. Or make some items require 50+ (tonic). Or even add a new tier of relic which is only awarded at 50+ which can be broken down into pristine and then again into regular. Then make things like the tonic and fractals skins require that new type of relic. But keep rings and other rewards paid for by pristine and regular relics.
