I dont like the idea of forcing masteries to be required for fights. They should be doable without, but at much greater difficulty.
Well yes. But bosses become very stale in how you deal with them when you make them completely immune to CC and debuff conditions.
Put it this way. Mossman isnt immune to anything and he just has your regular defiant stacks. Hes still considered a very challenging boss. And there are many ways to fight him because he is not immune. So you can kite, debuff, CC, block or dodge his attacks. But of course you cannot stunlock him and you cannot trivialise the encounter without advanced and skilled teamwork.
The defiant stack system is good. The unshakeable buff works pretty well apart from its blind implementation. Blind should be 5% chance to apply and then always work when it does apply. The excessive immunities ruin a lot of bosses and make them boring just dodge or block the attacks. Lupi’s is kind of justified although cripple and fear should definitely apply even if they have no effect (i lose 2% dmg from target the weak because cripple doesnt apply).

Many bosses are completely immune to fear though (lupi for example). For regular champions and some bosses with regular defiant stacks fear does still apply and strip defiant stacks.
Also if new bosses follow the same trends as the ones in open world living story. Then we can say goodbye to fear, cripple, chill, immobilize and all forms of CC. Indomnitable is such a lazy mechanic. I can only assume they added it to prevent bosses which have scripted movement paths from bugging out when getting interrupted.

I wouldnt say “its basically like bringing a 2nd war”. Even in a no requirements play how you want group, necro is the least useful class and doesnt really bring anything. A second warrior is actually pretty good in comparison. That said in those groups it really doesnt matter what you bring. And just bringing some extra dps might be all you need which is about the only thing necro can do (although not as good as most other classes).

I wouldnt worry about it. If Marjory is a good hint it looks like GS will be a power control weapon. And hopeful the necro specialisation will involve more support options and less selfish utility/buffs. Thats assuming anet have been listening to what necros have been asking for since release.

Also one of the sinister rings doesnt show up in the laurel vendor list. The offensive slot ring and all the other sinister trinkets do. But the defensive slot ring is missing (I have it in my bag so its definitely unlocked). Im guessing its an oversight?
Dont get sassy with me! The way I understood it- specializations seem like they are almost going to be an entirely new class that you have access to. I would assume that having access to new weapons traits and skills comes at the cost of losing access to our previous stuff. That would be “fixing” necro the same way you would be “enhancing” your macbook by adding a windows partition. It would just be a different thing all together.
You dont lose everything. The new stuff replaces old stuff. But its not like theres enough new stuff to change every aspect of the class.
Haha. My doubles are used for storage/crafting. Splitting my gear between them was too much hassle.
You can swap between them like you can swap traits. Theres no reason to create 2 of the same class.

For ele weapon a lot of people are saying swords, due to the light armor female with sword and non-mesmer look in the trailer.
There was also a fire attunement effect. So id be very surprised if it turns out that wasnt an ele.
It means we have to become the sub class to use the greatsword. But that doesnt mean we have to put any points in the new trait line. And obviously the new traitline will replace an existing one. So theres going to be plenty of variation and options.
Anyway the way i see it is necro is so bad in PvE this subclass cant possibly be a downgrade. For example even if we lose one of our dps lines its not even like we lose much damage. Necro has a lack of dps modifier traits anyway. And there will probably be replacement ones in the new line. Plus id happily trade some personal dps mod traits for utility and group buff traits.

I dont know if this really needs to be discussed in the meeting. But for the backend stuff with the site. It would be nice if all submissions contain character names and the players username or preferred nickname for all participants. Will help a lot when adding records to the site in the future.

You shouldnt discount results just because they seem unlikely.
His results arent as improbable as the coin example. Yes his sample size is large. But its not so large that its completely unrealistic. Discounting an arguement based on mathematical improbability is pretty foolish. You cant be sure that he wasnt just that unlucky.
Its possible he made a mistake but its also possible he was just unlucky. It doesnt really matter if other samples show that the rate is fine.
If you expect the fight to last long enough for you to run out of LH then you could take a dagger mainhand for a better auto attack on the LH build. However that means no fresh air and no D/F rotation. If you use LH with the D/F build you miss out on damage modifiers like piercing shards so you end up with a weak LH auto attack in comparison to a LH tailored build.
Yeah im not siding with anyone. Just saying the arguement “its improbable” is pretty weak.
If you were going to use LH then you would use the weapon that gives the most preloaded might stacking. D/F excels at sustained high dps with sustained might stacking but it has less blasts than S/F.

Just because its improbable doesnt mean it didnt happen.
Reflect rotation is simply chaining reflects/projectile blocks on top of shaman and then away from him so you can burn the elementals down in complete safety while removing his shield stacks. You move away from him for the later reflects due to when his shield pops he will cast his aoe on his location.
Salvaging them for things like dark matter and dragonite is what i had in mind. Maybe a rare chance for ectos aswell.
Thats exactly why i switched to ele for my fractal main and only use necro for LS stuff.
I would love to see a mystic forge recipe that works like this:
4 x Ascended equipment of all the same type (e.g. 4 Ascended Rings) produces 1 Ascended item of the same type that lets you select stats.
That doesnt solve the problem for people who have bank tabs so no stat combo is appealing. Would be better if we could just salvage for account bound mats or vendor for a higher price. Or even trade them in for fractal relics.
I believe of Ring of Earth is a dps increase it just doesnt fit in the optimal rotation. Correct me if im wrong.

I have 3 bank tabs full of ascended gear from fractals. There isn’t enough alts allowed to use all of that gear.
You’re wrong. Character slot maximum if 64. That’s 320 ascended trinkets, because with 64 characters gear swapping between alts requires either bookkeeping or a lot of time switching between characters.
The ascended people have bank tabs full of are rings. 64 characters is 128 rings. I have 11 characters all with ascended trinkets fully kitted. And then i have these tabs of ascended (I counted that i have 98 unused rings out of 124). Multiple copies of the same stats and many stat combos i will simply never use.
Yeah the problem is definitely solved by creating more alts. /s

I think i agree with Snowball on this. But im on the fence about if the entire group moves to another guild. But then records are usually done for the guilds reputation. So moving it just because the members moved is a bit odd. They can always beat their own record with their new guild.

Weakness effects crits since the weakness rework. So technically it does reduce the amount of crits you have. With weakness you will glance multiple times instead of critting. Its really evident when you use assassin gear with the dagger build and then get weakened. Its like hitting mobs with a wet sock. Goes from like a 3 second kill time on a vet to about 20 seconds.
It affects crits, but you do still crit. Ergo, anything on-crit except for crit damage is unimpeded by Weakness. Sigil of Air/Fire/Earth/etc. still procs, as do on-crit traits and foods. If there were a rune with an on-crit effect, that would function too. That is what I was saying.

But in terms of damage you can see it as a crit killer condition. Its totally ridiculous in PvE since the change. Especially as the mobs that apply weakness didnt get any duration reductions like the players did after the rework. So having self weakness on a skill is kind of setting itself up to not get used.

Well not the fault of Anet if you didn’t know that Lighting whip could be exploited to double the healing with diminishing the damage. Its was kind of broken when someone was exploiting it.

The locust swarm change does mean that its a slight dps increase because we arent spending a full second to cast it anymore. But yeah the other changes are pretty much pointless. The CPC change would be good if CPC actually did something useful like projectile block.
Maybe the “expansion” will have bigger balance changes.
I kind of like the boss. I prefer them like this than requiring huge amounts of coordination. Still havent finish my Wurm achievements.
The individual champions were a little weak because who can really be a threat to a zerg? But they atleast forced players to pay attention with those area of effect mechanics and they had some fairly decent design elements (easy to ignore because of zerg). Its nice that they took design elements from marionette and made it less dependant on the failings of individuals. I was a little disappointed there was no final encounter after destroying all 3 champions though.
Yeah but when fighting a boss you wont need it and you will want the extra might from plague signet. The build was originally designed for boss solos after all.
Ive had it in LA with the dagger build. I dont believe build is the trigger. Its just a rare bug that has surfaced and we cant identify the cause.
It doesnt really make sense to me. If you need to go get a key from SW then you may aswell stay in SW and open a chest there.
For PvE you want givers scepter and dagger (shame you cant get ascended givers). You could go sinister though. I havent checked if the duration is overstacked with givers. Its probably not. So only get sinister if you are anal and want to have all ascended.

Does this skip of the electricity room break the sequencing? Or does the dungeon just carry on at the next objective and does the end reward still get awarded? Even if you think its cheating. Its good to test these discoveries to be sure if they can actually be abused. Obviously it wont be worth doing if scripting breaks and you can no longer get the end reward.
LS isnt for everyone. And the amount of content isnt up to everyones expectations. I wouldnt call them hypocrites because of that. The announcement has to be something big otherwise it wouldnt be announced like this. We dont know if its an expansion or not but its pretty safe to say its something fairly big in comparison to previous patch releases.
