Well ive never noticed when it happened. I would just notice i randomly have 0 or 50% lifeforce when before i definately had around full. At the moment i only really log on to craft damask and maybe do a daily. So im mostly sitting around in LA not doing much. Yet lifeforce has disappeared mysteriously without me noticing.
Im not sure on the exact cause of the 50% loss. But its always been that you lose about 9% on instance change. I have noticed the 50% loss a few times recently in addition to the old 9% loss. Seeing as this post makes me think i wasnt just imagining things ill pay a bit more attention to it and see if i can work out when it happens.
plague signet*
You wont get much use out of reapers might because it will be 1 life blast per 10 seconds but its a decent full offensive choice. You might want to take chill of death for some fights or minion damage if using flesh golem instead. For example doing a condi lupi solo the chill is pretty helpful in phase 3 so you want chill of death.

Think about what you are suggesting for a minute.
- I haven’t suggested anything so far. Inserting reward trigger on last boss’ death is certainly a normal way to code a game. I don’t think the coders anticipated that party composition would rapidly change at this point in the instance and that selling services outside trading post would become a social phenomenon for dungeons. It’s using three systems (freely joinable parties in LFG tool, gold transfer with mailing and dungeon reward) to gain unintended advantage.
I took what you said as a suggestion that the end reward should only be given to players who who have been in the instance since the beginning. Because thats one of the only solutions to the problem you have with the current system.
What’s the exploit?
- That dungeon rewards are not given for completing the dungeon from start to finish, but when the last boss dies or last cutscene is played. Since rewards are scaled based on how difficult the dungeon path is, I believe the reward is intended for full completion.
Think about what you are suggesting for a minute.
What happens when a regular group has a player that needs to log off halfway through but they still need 5 players to complete the dungeon?
In fairness “deserving” doesnt even come into it. They are providing a service using their own time to do so. They can charge whatever they want for that service. If you dont like the service or the price then dont buy.
i love it when people complain about dungeon selling, do these same people complain about restaurants selling people cooked meals?
- Of course not. This is a complaint why a “looking for group” section is not actually used by people looking for group, but those attempting to exploit the dungeon rewards system for their own benefit.
Buying a dungeon run is like buying a Where’s Waldo book where Waldo is marked with black circle on every page.
1. Create your own groups. You will be amazed at how quickly your problem with the LFG has been resolved. Normal groups fill within seconds which is why you see sellers most of the time. They have to wait a lot longer.
2. If people want to buy Where’s Waldo books with Waldo marked in black circles then they are free to do so. Someone needs to provide that service/version for them. People do want to buy dungeon paths for various reasons. Sellers are simply providing the service. Noone is forcing anyone to buy if they dont want to.

CoE is the one dungeon I wont pug with my ele. It shouldnt be a problem in organised groups. But pugs will often cause you difficulty usually because of lack of dps or people slacking on various duties which make things easier for the squishy classes that die fast to alphas instant earth spikes.
If I pug with any classes not my ele, I can see the DPS dropping drastically and the fight last longer D;
Doesnt really matter for me. I pretty much never touch CoE anymore.
I dont think you should hide forum specialists identities because i think transparency is important. They should understand they are in a position where they should be responsible. Harassment should be a minor issue aslong as they remain respectful to other forum members. You could just hide the account number but keep the forum name. This way people will have a bit more difficulty contacting them in game.

10g in fractals? I find that hard to believe. Fractals really needs a major upgrade to the rewards. Especially for the higher levels.
To answer your question for PvE. There are a few fights with boons. But they often involve constant reapplication every second. Which means you really need a mesmer with sword auto and sword clones/phantasmal disenchanters. But you definitely dont need to change the build. You would still use the standard mesmer or necro meta build. Mesmer meta build has plenty of boon removal without speccing for it.

Yeah the biggest culprit is the lack of developer creativity with the class. That and the supposed design philosophy of attrition yet necro being the complete opposite of attrition with its current implementation. No sustain, long cast times, long cooldowns. Bursty rather than sustain in multiple areas including both damage and survivability. Everything about the necro suggests its not an attrition class. However it doesnt exactly have much burst either, everything is far too weak despite the restrictions.

Necros are rather powerful in pvp provided the players knows what he’s doing. They are a direct counter towards the current boon/might/celestial meta and can turn a whole fight around and the best way to counter this is to cc spam the necro so giving them more stability/survival skills would make them outright overpowered in SPvP and WvW.
The first sentence can be said for any class. But its not the necro that is powerful in those cases its usually all the player. They may be a direct counter because of boonhate. But thats the only thing necros have going for them. However our boonhate is only useful in PvP. Its bad in PvE due to cooldowns etc.
Necro still suffers from numerous imbalances in sPvP such as starting the game with 0 access to their class mechanic and having difficulty in gaining lifeforce unless specced in specific ways. Being completely useless when focus fired despite being designed as a class that should take fights head on. Not being able to bunker despite being the soak it up and dont move class. Cant stay on point reliably due to the lack of damage avoidance abilities and reliable stability and short cooldown stunbreaks meaning we either get pressured off or CC’d off. Has some of the poorest sustain in the game despite being designed as an “attrition” class.
The necro is currently very limited in playstyle in sPvP because of these reasons. They can work in the hands of good players. But we have to deal with so many weaknesses no matter the build. Whereas other classes can usually build against some of theirs. You could argue that even in sPvP a necro player would be better off switching and masterying a better class.
Just to add. Some of the things we want definately will be pretty strong in sPvP. But the point is they wont be available to every necro all the time. Necros would still have to choose between traits and utilities. At the moment choice is very limited. You can really see it when you think about dungeon solos. Other classes have quite a lot of trait recustomization options to suit each fight. The necro really only has go full power dps or go full condi dps. Theres no traits or utilities to take extra active defence. And theres no special and game changing traits or utilities. Its quite boring to try and fine tune a necro for a solo because you are done before you even start.

Meh w/e xD
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Agony
Use this table for reference. In higher difficulties the reduced healing along with the periodic agony instability (lvls 30/40/50) can really hurt you (unless you are using a class with good passive sustain such as warrior). In those cases you probably want to take a maximum of 6% per tick. But ideally you should go for 1% damage per tick for the levels you do regularly. So you want 70 AR if you do lvl 50 and 55 AR if you only go up to 49.
Yeah which wouldnt make it any less useless.
You are mixing up “probable” with “possible” again. This is basic logic and basic probability.
I like all of those but some are a bit much even for PvP. I would also like siphoned power to remain offensive. Its bad now but i would prefer to to head towards might on crit/hit rather than vigor. And reworking dark fields so blasts give vuln instead of blind would be nice. Theres no good reason to blast and waste well cooldowns for blinds even in PvP.
In terms of reflects and projectile blocks I would like a few more than just CPC though. Spectral wall could be a reflect. Dagger 5 could be a projectible block similar to ring of earth.

It’s so fake.. the guy who wrote this does not even know WTS 2’s next and not WTS 3. And the necro nerfs are just too extremely harsh despite the fact barely any top teams take necs.
And there are just too many “dream fixes” like teleport/steal bug, staff mark animations, incendiary powder buff icon, etc. Basically every fix the community wanted for 2+ years will suddenly happen in the next balance patch? I doubt it.
Lol man if this is a troll post then just…… wow. Dude has no life if he took the time to write up this whole list just to troll.
IF this is real then Spinal Shivers change idk if I like it or hate it. 50% damage reduction is an insane amount but the effect causing an AOE around the target is interesting. Assuming it strips + damage not only damage.
Theres been fake wishlist patch notes before. And they were much more detailed.
Its still entirely possible to never get a skin though.
no, it isnt. it is literally not possible to never get a skin. because the probability of getting a skin is nonzero.
Are you telling me that for when p[sub]success[/sub] for a trial is not 1, that for an infinite number of trials you must necessarily have to have to a successful trial at some point? Really? Because I’m pretty sure the only statement you can make there is “almost surely”, and that’s a long way off from what you’re claiming.
yes.
- “This is an extension of the principle that a finite string of random text has a lower and lower probability of being a particular string the longer it is (though all specific strings are equally unlikely). This probability approaches 0 as the string approaches infinity. Thus, the probability of the monkey typing an endlessly long string, such as all of the digits of pi in order, on a 90-key keyboard is (1/90)? which equals (1/?) which is essentially 0. At the same time, the probability that the sequence contains a particular subsequence (such as the word MONKEY, or the 12th through 999th digits of pi, or a version of the King James Bible) increases as the total string increases. This probability approaches 1 as the total string approaches infinity, and thus the original theorem is correct.”
does it suck? yes. should you say never? no.
The key word is it “approaches”. But it never actually reaches it.
Well i hope those notes are fake. Theres some stuff on multiple classes that i dont like the look of.
Hue hue
Yeah hail D/F!
If you keep at fractals you will eventually get the skins you want after a long time
Why the false statement? If luck isn’t on your side you can literally never get the skin you want. If you happen to be super lucky you can also get the weapon you want after the first time you run a 20+, sometimes lower. Rng account bound…… one of the worst things in gw2 imo.
it isnt false, he said “long time” with no other qualifier
im at 14 skins and still dont have the one that i want, hasnt been a long enough time yet (11 unique skins post fracture)
I’ll just restate this “If luck isn’t on your side you can literally never get the skin you want.” Which means you wont get it eventually if your not lucky.
yeah the rng sucks, but the probability of getting skins is nonzero
>.>
Its still entirely possible to never get a skin though. So he was correct in saying thats a false statement. It may be true for many people. But it is not an absolute true statement.
Warhorn 4 makes more sense as a blast anyway. It actually looks like a blast. Whereas 5 doesnt. And as Subli said it would be pretty terrible for a blast to be unusable for a certain type of field.
Werent you here less than a month ago or something? Hardly going to see anything in that time. Especially since its been the xmas and new years break.
Necro hasnt changed. Its the only class which focuses on only DPS within the meta builds. Which is why its the worst class. It doesnt have anything going for it other than DPS and thats pretty subpar.
Technically, given an infinite amount of time anything is possible.
It’s just that I don’t want to play Fractals for eternity.
That includes never getting what you want.
You could do it for eternity and never get the skins you want. Its RNG. The probabality of getting what you want doesnt increase over time.
Clearly its my fault.
o_O
You thought i was being defensive? I thought you were trying to be funny so i just carried it on due to boredom. ;P
Never said you said i said it did. ;p
Never said it did.
To the op: well thought and put, but i have some issues with this:
Direct damage requires 3stats to work: power, ferocity and crit rate. Meanwhile, condition requires only condi damage or damage plus duration.
So pure condition builds can get a defensive stat, with no tradeoff (well, right now there is the trade off of poor damage and zero damage against objects)
Pure condition should never output the same damage as a glass cannon. They should, at best, be able to sustain a decent damage whereas a glass cannon should worry about surviving and stop damage. The problem with that scenario, is that fights end so quickly that theres no need to avoid damage, so no use for condis in pve.
Hybrid builds are another beast. They are glass cannons, and dont have damage comparable to direct damage builds. I think it’s hybrids that need to be balanced against zerker, and some of the things you propose, like shorter duration of condis, put hybrids in an even tougher position.
The op isnt really saying rabid, carrion or dire builds should do the same or more as glass builds. Hes saying that glass condi builds should do more or the same. So that means sinister and rampager. Which in a way you could say they are hybrid sets. But for a class like necro the condi weapon does not do both good direct damage and condi damage even with sinister. So its not a true hybrid. There is no such thing as a pure condi build when you consider this. Because there are no builds which do condition damage without doing direct damage.
tl;dr
All condition builds are techniquely hybrids. The op is only suggesting glass condi builds should do more damage than glass power builds. Not that defensive condi builds should do more (they should obviously do less as they have passive defence).
@Bernie
The speedrunning attitude has become widespread and common simply because content has stagnated. And nothing new has come along. GW1 did have speedruns and so on but it also had huge expansions which included new elite areas, hard mode, new missions and dungeons. So the majority of players had plenty of new things to do and never made the switch to turning into speedrunners.
If anet actually released new fractals, new dungeons and elite zones like underworld and FoW every now and again we probably wouldnt have such a huge amount of players demanding specific requirements in dungeons. The speedrunning community would of remained small and relatively low profile. People get bored when no new major endgame content is introduced. So unfortunately, or fortunately, they find new ways to make the old content fun. That often leads to speedrunning or soloing. Contrary to belief most speedrunners dont speedrun for loot, they do it for fun. But obviously loot incentivises them further.

Weapons: staff
Armor: power, toughness, vitalitySkills:
Bone FiendToughness (Death Magic) for Minion Master or Staff Mastery
Why?
The best one is when you simply walk down the ramp at vigil keep and it instantly kills you.
Its not that simple. Positioning is important in sPvP.
Besides it doesnt matter what your perception of it is. Its pretty clear that the ranger has the advantage and has greater ability to control the fight in that situation. Which means that long range poking is a good counter to necros. This doesnt mean that the encounter is always decided based on this logic. PvP isnt that predictable. :P
(edited by spoj.9672)
Changing the passive to on hit is something I and many others have been saying since it first came out. I still think its the best move. But i doubt anet will do it. They are too stubborn.
Log in for daily chest. Create a bolt of damask. Sell it. Log out.
Yeah my activity has dropped. Im only doing the daily damask for a gradual gold increase incase they actually release some new content that makes me want to play actively again.
Well i would resolve to actually do some interesting solos. But i dont know if I will have time.
Today, on arah, I met a venom share thief.
We were waiting at the typical stealth point:
…
…
…
…
Me: “smoke field, pls”.
Thief: “no, I am a venom share thief”.
Me:“omg”
Then thief explained what a venom share thief is…I think all of us raced for the kick button.
Learn not to rely on thief/ or pug for all that matters
If players are gonna be that stubborn and not use the actual useful stuff their class has available. Then they should just roll a necro so they actually have an excuse to be totally useless. I have no sympathy for people that refuse to use the tools that their class was blessed with.
/end angry necro rant
Pugs meh. Never rely on them but its still frustrating at times.
Necromancers take forever to kill with my ranger. They don’t need projectile hate lol.
As for stealth, roll a norn…
Does your ranger use a longbow? A necro going defensive relies on plagueform and wells to survive and avoid damage. They also require to be within about 600 units of the target as necro has very few long range abilities. Classes which could poke from long range were always the most difficult to play against back when i was doing some PvP a while back. Simply because i could not touch them but they could touch me without me being able to negate the damage.
If you already have an idea of what you want to hear or do not want to hear. I dont really see why you are asking for help. Seems like you just want validation on whatever you have already decided on. But you wont get that because the truth is not to your liking.
The advice you have found is there not because “all the cool kids use it”. Its there because its found to be the best for the specified content. If you dont want to follow that advice thats fine. Play however you like. It doesnt really matter what you use if you have already said you dont care. So theres not much point in asking here. Unless you want to ask something more specific.

Well of my 11 characters 8 are human females. The other 3 are duplicate classes. Human female meta is strong.
Voted!
Ruby orbs arent good anymore.
Well yeah but guardian provides permanent protection. And i dont think anyone would agree to that particular trait anyway.
Ive always felt spectral wall should be a reflect. CPC should be projectile destruction. And enfeebling blood should be a projectile block (like ring of earth).
Or you could add a trait which makes spectral skills and effects reflect. That way you atleast have to trait for it.
Necro has always had a bit of a weakness to ranged opponents in PvP. So reflects would be pretty good for both gametypes.
