Funny how I’m always strategizing and always last one standing for dungeons on my ranger and standing off until others make it back. I can’t wait to see what I can do with Mesmer…. oO

I’m not sure others will know but my illusions I’ve noticed survive three or four hits now… It seems to take on my armor stats (tough/vit) or else idk where it’s possibly getting it from

HAHAHAHA I couldn’t stop laughing when I saw that in my with outfit too xD yeah it’s hideous but I find it funny too so I kinda like it. the witches broom riding is like trolling xD ESP when u jump it looks ridiculous. I call it the D .er.p Face xD D .er .p Mode (whats with the kitten censoring!!!) maybe

They should fix it tho it’s kind of weird and seems buggy hahaha

I know this is rare but here’s another thing to encourage community love lol after taking one group thru, I don’t usually expect or receive gifts but some ppl have been kind enough to send me something completely something they insisted on. To my delight someone surprised me with a scythe staff skin… And I was just completely blown away haha wow that’s amazing and even though no not everyone will reward u with rare things or there’s not even an odd of winning as ppl keep saying they should be entitled to know but this goes to show, the game is more than just self centered gameplay, grinding and onwards.

Not that it should be done for rewards but as long as you can take the game a step further and help develop the community and people around you I’m certain things will be wonderful. Much better than all QQ . Every person I’ve helped has been saved from that frustration and confusion and then complaint nd hatred towards the game and what anet is trying to do. We make the world a better place and in turn it will be a better place for you as well

Where is forsaken halls?

I think I’m starting to have stories of my own to tell now that I’m level 43 and I’ve finally gotten fully used to the Mesmer. Everything feels second nature and I have not felt so empowered and capable. Not only is leveling in zoned 6 levels higher feeling normal but today I had a DE which let me compare

In blaze ridge theres that giant crystal where three grawl shamans are performing a ritual it’s not a particularly difficult de but I couldn’t solo it on my ranger at the time. Mainly it was bc of the mass of infinite spawning elementals (with annoying cripple of course) until u get rid of the shamans, one of them being a tricky vet one. They are all level 45/46, not too many levels above me

Now my ranger has proven itself to be the toughest and most survivable character I’ve played, having some crazy dps but also staying alive in Orr and so on. But somehow it can’t multitask that well unless it is meleeing swarms, but in this case u have elementals that cripple and stuff in ur face and then shamans long range and a few grawl with long range here an there and they all aggro almost at the same time. So my ranger couldn’t handle it

This time I was with my friend but like other stories I’ve read, my friend was downed early on. Another player that tried to solo before we came was also defeated so it was down to me. 

There is no choice but ignore elementals and go for shamans or the elementals will respawn. Sooo I rushed in… Put all my illusions on one shaman at a time… Chaos storm for aoe but that’s about all I did, keep kiting moving replacing illusions constantly, decoy and blink bc I’d get crippled, feedback on shaman long range attacks… 

I don’t even know what happened, I was in tight spots… But I was taking on literally almost ten at a time… And the mesmer just keeps going and going and everything was just melting. Staff bounces, some aoe from melee sword blurred frenzy, my main target shamans were just melting so fast lol

Oh my and then the final vet boss took a little more work but with all the other shamans down I could revive my friend and then take down the vet relatively easily.

The vet killed my friend the first time, it had this pull in and immobilize sort of thing. I had to fend off some elementals and regroup

But I got aggro and got pulled in and everything on me but Mesmer blink… Is just amazing so is phase retreat lol

Staff is my favorite weapon of all time for Mesmer it is insanely wonderful my gosh. 

But yeah… Now things are second nature, u can really start to see things come together

The crazy melting dps, the aoe which had taken getting used to, the invincibility even though things are levels above. In swarm events having things second nature means I put an illusion on three diff targets with other skills like chaos storm and feedback and so forth… Things just melt xD multitasking on Mesmer is just spectacular and so wonderful and rewarding. Absolutely a superior class imo

I believe I will see a lot more amazing things in the levels to come

I’ve wanted quaggan plushies forever omg I would melt of the cuteness of I could get one. I want normal ones and ones in costume too. ANYTHING quaggan would be good

we also still aren’t certain whether the coming acts will reward us with interesting things. or perhaps theres mini dungeons coming up for example like mad kings tower. Though from the way things are, there may still be a chance (MF) thing or idk not 100% guaranteed reward. But i don’t think ANYTHING is 100% guaranteed anyway.

for more complicated stuff the patch includes new jumping puzzles in fireheart rise, mount maelstrom and dredgehaunt cliffs. As well i hear there are new events there as well as this skritt burglar? i haven’t had a chance to get to those yet

and BLC are fun when you get them for free, other than that, don’t be like others and go gamble your money for something lol if you’re dying for rare halloween items and skins youre better off buying it from TP for a lot of gold which you can make for free.

I run guided scavenger hunt tours with a nice sized group each time but that’s on Ehmry Bay. We’ve taken level 5s, level 9s, level 15s through level 35 territory for the final page XD

Yeah there’s always like massive parties for FOUR doors in Gendarran Fields – Brigantine Waypoint shore, Provern Waypoint hill, under the Provern Waypoint on the west side on the beach, and to the east of the waypoint on the beach as well. All really close to each other and spawns every now and then. Just camp that! Tons of ToT bags and candy corn as well

I’ve been on my level 40 mesmer during these and mesmers can be slow and can’t really zerg aoe, so i just pulled out my sword and stood right in front of the door and autoattacked. You catch the first mobs at least with one or two hits which is enough to score you a kill

ALWAYS melee for these zerg like farming events if your AoE requires set up or takes time or has long CD XD unless its absolutely dangerous to do so. But it’s not because these things are quite tame

LOL yeah i had level 9s, level 15s etc in my group so Gendarran was tough. But it was basically the traps that people weren’t careful about for us… LOL couldnt even revive them without three people, cuz it did too much damage to low levels

Just a note but I’ve been running Scavenger Hunt guided tours to bring people to get all 6 pages recently in Ehmry Bay server. It helps people out a lot, if people can’t figure it out, are too lazy to research, just are plain confused and onward.

I start at the starting NPC and announce on map chat when i’m ready to take a group. I tend to have a group of about 8 each time. I guess i enjoy helping people but this post has three purposes

1) If anyone in Ehmry Bay who hasn’t done this already, wishes for me to take them, please contact me to arrange a time and gather a group if possible

2) I would encourage anyone who has done it already and has extra time and loves helping people to do the same if you haven’t already. It’s quite a rewarding experience to be able to make new friends and just help frustrated people out.

3) For the next Acts whoever figures out things first, I encourage you to help others out as well by posting up a guide here or especially arranging hands on tours/expeditions

It’s kinda fun like that! Halloween can be more than grinding and desperately whining for rare stuff, brawling randomly and feeling others are OP, getting confused etc

I dont get why people think they are ENTITLED to getting a rare skin or something like that. It’s STILL chance, you are not guaranteed anything nor did Anet tell you you were guaranteed something nice. It is totally a gamble. Why do you think you are entitled?

Anet did their best in responding to the QQ this time around and to me this is already one too many chances. You are repsonsible for your resources, and your own desires.

Are the skins even worth getting? What’s so great about them? There are plenty other good skins. If you really want it, that is YOUR problem. and no one is entitled to getting something by chance in a chest.

Just because you didn’t get one doesn’t mean the event sucks and this idea sucks and all the chests sucks

Yes some things were confusing I was super confused at first. Its mainly cuz of the amount of ppl. Though they could make it better, do you expect everything to be spoon fed to you? Other players who figured it out obviously took some time to calm down and read carefully and follow instructions. Some pioneers keep finding the newest stuff without any info on it. How do they do it? Honestly alot of players sound like whiny kids, complaining about this and that, demanding rare skins or money back, op costume brawl outfits… Everything possible ppl complain.

It’s a free and interesting holiday event. Everything can sometimes be tough or confusing, but IT’S A GAME. Take it easy! Take ur time! And you’ll begin to figure things out and soon it’s not so hard once u get used to what’s going on

Now I’m no longer confused and having a total blast. Why can’t you take some time to adapt instead of complaining after such a short time. Sheesh

And I love helping ppl, if anyone asked me I personally take them to the spots u need to go for certain things

Research is also perfectly fine. Why do you expect NOT to research? Ppl research on class builds and watch gameplay videos and onwards. Research is good. There’s plenty threads I looked thru before I did anything during this halloween content

Another thread says there are high frequencies of paranormal activity from scanners in Godlost Swamp and Wizards Fief, as well as potentially many other suspicious locations. NPC ghosts in Kessex have given teaser messages about portals being reversed to gain access to Mad King’s realm.

I heard third party sites and people have posted up info. So lets research!

In the meantime, do you think you could just add some of these possible points into ur list, and put it as a question section, that we need more info on? Because we need a comprehensive list that for now can help people keep an eye out and also let people who know provide info.

Great that you posted this, can we create a comprehensive compiled guide where we add more content as we discover it somewhere?

In addition, I did two new jumping puzzles today which aren’t halloween but they’re nice and new and jumping fun.

1. Dreadhaunt Cliffs – In the corner just under the Sorrow’s Embrace entrance, where the heart is. Go for the vista, from the vista you hop on the icy cliffs and get into a ice cave jumping puzzle maze thing.

2. Fireheart Rise – Vista south east of Keeper’s Sanctum in the middle of the map zone are these jumpy platforms that lead to an asura gate which is a mini dungeon (Vexa’s Lab). Was pretty fun/complicated with mobs and bosses to fight. Some annoying jumpy things though xD

There’s one more i have yet to check out in Mount Maelstrom

We need a comprehensive compilation guide that is updated as we find out more xD

There’s plenty towers, i thought it were clock towers, on those human fortress things like throughout kessex hills, like especially the ones ( i believe there were more than one) where u climb up to the vistas…. but those seem so ordinary and there’s certainly an abundance of them. ill keep thinking

There’s also the possibility that the tower hasn’t even appeared yet and will be in a new map update.

oh wait you get a title for brawling? hahaha i missed out on the news. time to get fightinggg. You can farm it with friends though no?

my question is how do people manage to find readings pointing to things to come and stuff in random (or reasonable) places, are people just going trial and error all over the maps or stumbling over it during their daily activities?

OMG now this is what i’m excited about. lol Portals the lead somewhere. Jumping puzzle, hopefully mini-dungeons, big bosses. :P And killing Mad King himself if given the chance which i’m sure we’ll get at some point.

My question is whether people are actually running around in random place looking for readings or they just stumbled across it while questing or doing normal stuff. Because I’m just confused as to how to find more of the halloween ish stuff without running around covering every centimeter of the world maps XD

And you have the illusionary leap for a few seconds of immobilize and blurred frenzy xD But i don’t really know what the event is about though. Where does it happen?

Lol I’m only level 30 at the time and I solo’d a champion all the way to 20% life left. Mesmers are so crazy capable. I feel I can’t level in zones my level anymore. With the mesmer class, levelling in zones 6-8 levels higher feels NORMAL. O.O

Oh yeah, I’m always with blink on. Unless I’m with a team or group where I know i dont need the extra mobility/positioning, stun break, run away tactic xD. But most of the time I have it, I’m always getting out of tight spots with blink. I use it for speed and travel as well. With focus, I have swiftness for 10 seconds then i blink to cover a max distance, by then the swiftness nearly cd’d and i have covered alot of ground, and repeat.

I don’t have enough stories, because I have a level 80 ranger and as a level 80 ranger it has seen alot, built for dps but survivability as well and was also able to solo champs and miraculously survive swarm events like some kind of goddess xD

So until i max out my mesmer and have stories that are better than my ranger, will I have things to tell :P

You have two weapon sets so it’s time to switch if you’d like to keep ur phantasms up. That could be one of the purposes of two weapon sets in this case. it’s available for you to use. However phantasm attack recharge times are so long, might as well begin a new cycle with a shatter. And do phantasms really stay up that long? It gets destroyed often in combat. It only stays up when theres a large number of people fighting one champ or something and you don’t get aggro

Okay understood, so people aren’t getting anything related to halloween in the BLC and this is like false advertising. That i can agree with. And Anet should include more halloween stuff inside these BLC, regardless of rarity. But if it’s about skins, don’t complain about it

Lol that would be nice ^ But there will always be whiners and people complaining just about anything and making a huge fuss over it. They will say i got this cheap tot bags with nothing in it but candy corn. and onwards. People are never satisfied on here…

lol no one told you you had high odds of getting it, in fact why are people spending money on it? ANet isn’t waiting for your money in buying their keys… No one is forcing you to buy with real money… why are people so eager for halloween skins… or legendaries or anything crazy in this game? To show off? in a virtual world? Do they honestly look that great anyway? I don’t even like the way the legendaries look. Way too flashy for me. I enjoy cheap but nice looking things that fits my style, that’s how i shop in real life too xD but I wouldn’t spend any extra effort or cash on for things I don’t really want that much or need.

And that is my choice right? If you choose to spend a ton of money on it, THAT is your choice. Do you REALLY need those skins? Do you really want it that bad? Does it really make your character look nicer? That’s up to your decision but whatever effort and resources you put to getting it, is your responsibility.

No one needs to give you the calculations, odds and on ward. Even if they gave you the probability, that still does not mean that if you buy 1 million chests you will for sure get that 1%. You might still be unlucky and STILL not get it. Odds or not.

I actually am thinking the opposite. I miss the stronger daylight. Everything is kind of gloomy and dark and to me thats depressing. Yes its halloween but there still should be day and night. Kids in school celebrate halloween during the day too in costumes, i think we should have something that still feels halloween but is bright daylight… like if you think scarecrows and pumpkin patches in the day, thats still halloween-ish too

It sucks but anet didn’t say guaranteed items for everyone… It’s still luck just like mf and getting good loot… Can’t ask for money back or something when u decided to pay for it and clearly u weren’t very lucky :S

Omg how did you people get so far in such a short time is my question haha! Most of us are really confusedand overwhelmed by the possibilities and vague information for events. How did people finish books and find so much stuff. Does everyone just go runnin around randomly or are ppl actually informed of where things are? If so how can the rest of us have more info

Where are the haunted doors and has anyone found new dungeons? Location other than the map name of jumping puzzles? what happens after the book as some peopl have been discussing? What other things are there that most of us haven’t discovered yet? Anyone get pumpkin carving achievement? Other achievements? Etc etc

Basically I’d like to see the farthest and most people have managed to accomplish by now and perhaps it might give hints to those confused

there are bow skins. theres a spider bow skin. check the preview youtube video they put up on twitter. its not from black lion chests tho i think its from a vendor. but anyway…. QQ for no updates.

i agree, even with ranger i never traited for pet, i dont expect npcs to tank for me, they dont have the skills a real player does, they are my extra damage/conditions/skills etc, meanwhile i myself do a lot of damage but i will tank by evading and playing smart.

I know alot of mesmers go with Defender though, i personally never used it bc i feel it will take up a slot that i need for something better to help my cause rather than get things that will be passive and slow down my output

As a Mesmer skill? That would be nice it’ll be like reverse of time warp xP that would be effective on enemies. Idk about duration tho, probably something close to time warp is less op

I level in places 3-8 levels higher than me most of the time just bc Mesmer feels so capable and I’d be wasting its capabilities if I don’t challenge myself. I don’t have issues but I’ve decided that I need a lot of the offensive traits in the trait lines, so I load up all my armor with toughness and vit stats which I reckon would be quite nice as I get better and better gear. Im upgrading gear every 10 levels so it can stay valid for a while

I prefer a good offense as a good defense, if I down things fast enough I don’t have issues. But staff, chaos armor, chaos storm and combo fields, as well as swords invulnerability during blurred frenzy and distortion shatter if u need to survive for a few more seconds and just pumping out illusions keeps me alive, I usually take aggro but I just dodge and move around while my illusions are melting down targets like no tomorrow xD with bosses they do go for my illusions though idk why

Is there such a sword though I can’t recall ever seeing a thin sword like a rapier, thinnest I’ve seen are probably those default beginner standard looking swords or like ebon vanguard

I continue to get used to the mesmer but along with how everyone loves Mesmers xD today in group events I got to moa a few bosses, feedback, chaos storm and null fields that helps everyone and perhaps gives a good laugh too. Feels especially good when other players catchthe combo fields and u gave them chaos armor. It just is so epic and helpful haha

Mesmers are insane like I feel like I have my own Zerg ESP bc my illusions actually survive well since I grab the aggro and then run around letting my illusions melt targets xD

I agree to an extent not on hard mode but things should scale. I think in high level zones particularly there should be a larger variety. Right now all dynamic events are pretty cookie cutter and worse off its repetitive and respawns over and over. Simply change the variety make new or certain events much harder an keep the level of some of the events around. U can have pretty much full mini dungeons without The instance portal entries, that u cant run without a strong group with a ton of skill but u also have ur easier events. The dragons themselves should also scale a lot more.

As well I am extremely bored at 80 bc I don’t feel I’m accomplishing much. Not only do events and fights need more variety (also in type/story/set up/form of events) but I believe we need to have things we do like events rly influence an change the world around us. Make permanent map changes over time as we push and invade into Orr or defeat zhaitan over and over maybe as we hit a certain number of dungeon runs collectively as the server the cleansing of Orr begins to happen and we can see changes over time. In the density and difficulty of mobs in the environment itself, and onwards. We need to make lasting impact in the storyline and history of the guild wars world. Everything feels too standard mmo stuff right now rather than being much more dynamic as we hope for

The one u face in the personal story at claw island is ANOTHER dragon called Blightghast which is the same species as tequatl and minion from zhaitan, it is not tequatl

We also look forward to Primordus? Is he still alive? Or did the dwarves kill him? I don’t think so because the destroyer minions are the direct spawn and minions of Primordus the first dragon to awaken and to wipe out the dwarves who fought him to the last. He also forced asuran out of the underground and is still imposing Fiery threats on the asuran. Haven’t seen any fire dragon minions yet tho

If u read the guild wars 2 novels it covers alot of the history and dragons bc destinys edge guild faces dragon champions as well as the grave of Killeen which is a skill point in field of ruins and u see ember doom forge there as well! I’d recommend everyone to check out the novels

Yes they do I tested it myself so it’s freaking amazing to have constant supply of clones up and they just melt targets even without a warlock up xD crazy awesome

And since I use staff all my illusions deal incredible damage sometime I just sit back and watch… The conditions stacking and a warlock or two… I get aggro most of the time which is the way I want it and I just run circles and the mob just melts under the illusions lmao it’s so fun to play and watch xD

Nothing has been this satisfying in a long time…

Like sometime I feel weaker bc I don’t see the big numbers or the way other classes makes enemy health bar cut down in steps… But Mesmer killing speed is insane when u compare… Even when ur at low levels it’s just melting targets down…. Definitely such a great powerful class when played right

xD i know u dont need thief but i mean they can stealth themselves across if u still wanted other classes in ur run XP

we have decoy, viel, and mass invisibility and darn jumping puzzles are much better with portals xD

Thank god for the downed state skills lol i dont have to worry that much about taking on mobs 7 levels higher xDD

I use staff, so my clones do A LOT of damage actually, because they stack conditions on their autoattack which is Winds of Chaos, when i have three or two up and a phantasm as thats how i usually start, things build up really fast and you have tons of dps from that, but the actual direct damage is mostly 0 from clones.

I have a question though, i have the trait where illusions do 15% more damage, does that mean my clones do like some damage now? XD

I suggest staff if you want to use clones for more purposes, they help a ton, i can just attract aggro, run around while my clones are stacking conditions… and they’ll just die even if i do nothing xD if they target my clones then ill just put new ones up. but i like getting the aggro myself which i usually do in PvE. Once i have my clones and phantasms long range i can set up a melee warden, rush in and melee which deals incredible burst dps

Other weapons clones dont do so much. sword clones for example cripples, but thats about it

Omg after getting more attuned with mesmer… this is so amazing like level 34 right now killing level 40s so fast xDD idk how ppl think they dont have dps but the dps im seeing is crazy

I don’t agree with allowing rewards for low levels bc u can’t possibly contribute enough. I just solo hiked all the way to Orr with my level 30 bc I was wanting a fun challenge an see if it’s possible. Lol it was with some careful slow waiting and observing etc. yess u get one shot if ur not careful hahaha was fun though. But I try to hit a mob and I get immune notices. LOL. Bc u can’t possibly do enough damage to actually overcome the toughness and armor of these high level mobs… I don’t see how u can even get loot or drops or anything at all… You have to be doing thousands of damage in order to actually get ur hits in. O.O

Also there’s frostgorge sound for level 70-80 it’s not only Orr but I do hope to see more exciting things happening around the world that makes players feel like they belong and are contributing to the world and new maps, new difficult events and bosses and places to explore which I’m sure we’ll get ESP with the Halloween content coming up.
