Funcom (TSW) refunds you if you buy wrong stuff, but it is limited to once every 30 days. Blizzard also used to refund before they added the autorefund thing in WoW. But Anet never gived a kitten I dont think they will start caring now.

1) I totally agree their customer support sucks and is the worst cs Ive ever had from a company. Considering I also use Steam, you can figure how bad Anet sucks concerning customer support.

2) About your problem, it was (is) clearly described: account bound / soulbound on use. I agree they should help you, it would be a good move on their side, but it was your mistake. Their support sucks? Completly (to be honest, the last time I needed the support I was satisfied, but it was the first time in years). But in this case you cant totally blame them.

i got 12. it takes me much more time to farm enough gold to buy a pick than to earn 10 bucks. i have 15 chars total, not sure which of them will have picks. my 3 main chars already got 1 each. the remaining 9 are resting, didnt decide who will have them yet. maybe ill buy more, not sure though. i believe we might have more unlimited tools in the future with different skins. im pretty sure anet made more than $ 1 million with the picks if they really have the active playerbase they say they have. some friends got one or two picks as well, i can count at least 5.

btw, cant wait to buy 12 axes and 12 sickles. a chainsaw skinned axe would be awesome.

Any level character seems appropriate. I’ve gotten two skins on my level 15 banker.

I can confirm you get it in any level. I got most of mine in level 2 characters.

I get this a lot as well. And another annoying thing is that the game does not save properly my cc info. I need to retype all the kitten almost everytime I purchase gems. Not sure why they added a “save info” option when the saved info is most of the times grayed out.

Well, Ive spent more money on this game than Ive spent with any other game. If GW2 was a subscription game I would have spent WAY less money with it. Ive spent more money in GW2 than in my 3 years playing WoW. I expect for a good support. If they think people do not deserve decent support because it is “free”, then make an special subscription for the ones who are willing to pay for a better support. Game is not free to play, it is buy to play. I purchased it for $80.

I check today and there’s a automated-response from NCSOFT asking me to verify my purchase with proof blah blah before they can assist further, all the while I am not even banned anymore.

I would love that ticket number. Obviously, we could use it to train folks to answer better.

Pick 20 random customer support answers and you will have at least a couple that will be useful to train folks. Just saying.

Example: Assume I am farming those bird/ostrich things in an area and am getting a slab of meat after every 5 kills or so and occasionally some coin. I then run 30 seconds to another area where I start killing birds. I get 10 silver, a slab of meat, and a piece of gear after EVERY kill. This aint a good example, sorry. I would probably never notice they are dropping 10s since I never check how much coin I get on loot and I dont even pay attention to loot (unless I get a wooden chest). I just press F brainlessly. I would probably farm crap for hours without noticing they are giving me extra reward (or worse reward as well) unless Im getting a crap load of wooden chests. Even if I noticed better drops, Id think its because those birds have a higher drop rate. I remember when the drop rate for dyes was wrong. I thought one day “nice, got a lot of dyes today”. Only knew there was a problem with rate after they announced it was fixed.

Another example: I am throwing stuff into the mystic forge and get mediocre stuff in most of my attempts. I switch one ingredient and suddenly I crafted something amazing that is hard to get based on my prior experiences with the mystic forge. I ask others and they say they haven’t heard of this before. I do the same thing again and get the same amazing thing. Again and again. Repeatedly doing this is probably an exploit and I’d deserve to be banned.

Agree. I dont know what people did to get banned, but if I had to bet, Id bet the knew they were exploting. And they will keep asking “but what did I do?” because otherwise they would be confessing they were exploiting.

Well, from the tickets Ive opened so far (nothing concerning a permaban, since I dont exploit, cheat or buy gold and appreciate Anet banning bots, gold sellers/buyers, cheaters, exploiters, scammers and all the scum – hope this is not your case), I can say it takes days for them to answer for the first time and weeks for them to answer what you are asking instead of replying with pasted answers.

As for my last ticket, the answer was pretty fast and satisfatory, which was really unexpected. So either I was lucky or their customer support has changed for better. But considering the number of bans we seem to have and that you have “criminal” status for them, might take long. In GW1 I had a 72h ban for spamming (criminal status sucks) and took them like a week to answer me (the ban was already expired and the event was over).

Anet has stated more then once that people are NOT banned automaticly. Everything is reviewed and if one is banned falsly that is a human made mistake.

If they review stuff with the same attention they “read” support tickets you would prefer it was automated.

I really doubt that. Eventhough my last experience with customer support was good, this was the first good experience Ive ever had with it. Once Ive answered the support email saying “thanks, the problem was solved” and I got a reply like “we will investigate further to see why you still have the problem”. I was like wth? So, if they read the tickets (and I dont think they usually do), they have huge comprehension problems.

My account was preordered and never touched because my computer couldn’t run it. I finally get a new computer, find out my account’s been hacked, spend three days with customer service to retrieve it, try to log in to find that the account was suspended due to suspicious activity, spent another two days with customer service to get it unsuspended, and now this. I seriously haven’t even gotten to play yet. Yes, my account was hacked, so it’s possible that the gold spammer who hacked the account used an exploit. Well, that was what Anet said. We will never know for sure if this is all the truth or if Anet had some information leaked and just wont tell us (they forced me a password change and my password was used only on GW). They sware the fault is everyone else’s, but I have my doubts.

Nice to see exploiters being banned. Hope to see botters banned someday, too. Plz, keep the game clean and keep banning the scum.

Exactly the same skin, as you can see right clicking the item and chosing “preview”. The only difference is that the ones Moto sells are account bound, while the ones from chest can be sold in TP (or given to a friend via mail, or deposited in guild stash).

I have 11 alts, I bought one. Enjoying the volcanic animation as I play ^^ I don’t need my other 10 alts farming ore. Cheap $10 purchase, can’t wait to see more cool animated items ideas from anet.

Fan boy, nothing wrong with us wanting either a little cheaper or account bound. I have spent roughly $200 on this game so don’t call me cheap. But I want to feel I’m getting my money worth. Worst exchange rate ever in gems to gold and this is over priced as well. Everything else so far in the Gem shop is reasonable.

You are also missing the gold sink economical issue account bound versions would cause over time. But whatevs.. I have one, mining ori and mithril with lava feels pretty epic with my fused bow, 2 daggers, and greatsword.

As I stated I have spent roughly $200 so its not that I’m unwilling when I can but even as someone who tries to spend money on the game I can’t afford a pick axe for each character and your rich kitten is nuts to suggest everyone should. I will say again that success they have had or not they could have even more success if it were cheaper.

Lol I’m not rich… And I don’t think everyone should pay money in game if they can’t afford to do so. But 10 bucks is not a big deal. I could see a complaint if some mechanic of the game cost 50 bucks and you couldn’t play without it. But for this I just don’t see all the anger making sense.

Also I don’t see the point of 8 unlimited pickaxe wielding characters.. You only need 1 to run around and truly spam gather everything. The rest of my alts do just fine when they come acrossed a node. I generally play 4 of my characters a day. But I know to switch to my one with unlimited pick when I want to farm ore.

It’s just not worth it as is. The same can be said about all the gemstore items. Make it worthwhile and people will pay.

You would be surprised if they ever announced how many of each item they sell monthly. Would make you think about what is worth for you and what is worth for others. Id bet they sold at least 5,000 picks on the 1st day. And if I had to pick a number of how many will be sold till the end, that number would be above 100,000 (we have no idea on the number of active players and will never have, since Anet wouldnt want people comparing their numbers to WoW, but depending on the number of active players Id raise that ammount). Yeah, sir, they will make at least a million dollars of the item you say is not worth and people will not pay.

I just hope you consider the ping factor or only US citizens will be able to get it while you have a lot of players living in other countries with pings ranging from 200 to 400 ms who have the skills, have the will and will probably be able to get the titles even handicaped by ping, unless you make it doable only for people with 40-120ms and kitten the rest of the world off.

16sec is a lot of time in a run, specially considering you get nothing worth the 16s you waste not getting scw.

today must players (id say something around 80%) totally suck. players who like challenges are threated as a “niche”. and this game is certainly not marketed as a niche game, since it is probably the easier mmo ever made. game was designed for teens and this generation is not fond of challenges. they will cry if they dont get what they want immediatly. they will cry if they dont have the big glowing sword. they will cry if someone kill sthem in a pvp map even if they know they chose to be in a pvp map.

if you compare gw and gw2 you will see they designed a game that can be played by an 1 handed monkey (or a three-headed one if you know what i mean). gw = large pool of skills where you need to think and make a good build otherwise you fail. gw2 = 2 dozens of skills, while you can chose only 5 of them and you MUST have a healing skill amongst those 5. if you chose the worst possible combination, you will still be able to complete any content except for fractal’s high levels (unless you have some disability).

a good example is the “mad king says” event during halloween. in gw you had to figure out the game (well, it was pretty obvious, but some players had a hard time figuring it out). in gw2, each time (yeah, every time) it happens, he says “haha, i didnt say mad king says”. the funny thing is that people keep dying, but this is another story.

I looted a scepter 8 hours before reset. Then after reset, I looted a sword on my first run. On my third run, I looted a sword and a greatsword. I am now rich. Thank you SAB.
