So I was playing a game today, saw an ele doing crazy damage with d/d fire spells like burning speed and ring of fire. I noticed he had a lot of stacks of might on like 10 or more. All in all he downed me instantly just doing burning speed.

I don’t think HGH engineer needs nerf, I think might and stacks of might needs to be re-looked at.

You should come to JQ, we are in farm mode for wxp right now since the competition and hype has died down.

What are you goals in WvW? That might make a factor of where you want to go.

Yeah that play now is stupid, it should place you in the populated servers and not the servers with 8 people in them.

I use to click on the servers but I’ve become tired of reading network error on 13/16 games. Even when I click refresh the game is still 13/16 but I can’t join it for some unknown reason!

Yup I noticed this too, some people like Zoose I haven’t seen there games and wins improve yet hes still on it with crazy low amount of games.

Yes, I haven’t done enough tournament pvp games, 589 games and 311 wins is not enough for leaderboard material. Even though some people on leaderboard haven’t played in weeks and have 7 games 4 wins.

commander tag is only 100g, cof p1 gives you 1-5g per 10 min run. In 17 hours of doing nothing but CoF p1 you will have 100 – 500g.

If you get 250 glory points for 10 min game, you will have to play 20,000 games to earn 500,000 glory points. Or 334 hours of nonstop back to back games 10 min long and always earning 250 glory. Or just playing 14 days straight with no sleep.

So they added a new feature to leaderboard, if your not top 1000 you see a % sign.

Simple solution. Put a cap on the number of non-NA players allowed on any one NA server based on a +/- percentage of the total number of non-NA players on NA servers with the objective of fairly balancing the the population of non-NA players across all the NA servers to make game play more competitive 7/24.

As I recall from playing friday, JQ was winning when NA prime ended. This ‘solution’ of yours wouldnt let you win anyway. so lol

Most of those they outnumbered their opponent/were fighting unorganized forces. I’m not saying FoO isn’t a good guild, but don’t try to get them as much credit as you do…besides, look what happened in JQ BL today during asian primetime

And the reason why thief skills like heartseeker are reduced and some others aren’t, its because people said everything about thief should get nerfed and that’s why a thief is pretty much nerfed up, but a ranger? People don’t really pay attention to them, that’s why they have skills that aren’t corrected.

As for ride the lightning, your not using your legs in that skill, you turn into mist and ride the lightning like it says.

They wouldn’t add spectator mode in a big tournament because people can tell there buddies what the other team is doing. As far as I know they are adding it for hotjoins, they are thinking about it for tournament games.

But yes 1 big tournament a day would be nice.

Anet’s leaderboard shouldn’t have taken that long, the rating system was in since tournaments existed. They pull that information to there website just like this guy pulling the information here to his website.

Because slows affect movement and heartseeker is a movement skill. Ride The Lightning is a special movement skill, you turn into mist and move forward. Just be thankful it doesn’t cure slows as well.

Q: Does leaving a match early affect my rating?
A: If you leave a tourney/ranked match early, yes, your rating is impacted as if you sustained a loss. Once you finish another match, this “loss” is then factored back into your rating.

However it doesn’t show the game in your in game history, so if you are like some people and you know u lost and leave, it will say you lost the tournament game but the game will not count to your personal in game record.

So to sum it up, your team loses, everyone loses that game according to there rating, but the leaver is the only one who doesn’t get penalized for losing that game according to there in game wins and games. Everyone gets penalized but the leaver.

If you don’t like HGH engy play a immune to conditions under 25% with elixir S to turn conditions into boons.

Also when people ranged attack and AOE you, it only works when your defending a node, if your attacking a node it wont have any effect because they cant create distance or you just wait for the AOE to end.

This post seems like a whiny thread about people who play bunker or defend nodes and getting wooped doing so.

Umm 8 teams would be too small, it should be based on something like at 6:00pm you que up your group, then at 6:10pm it registers it and creates a tournament with however many groups que’d up and starts creating games.

I respect Foo, but this forum is pretty much dominated by 1 guild from JQ and we all know who that is.

So I fought a condition HGH engy today, and my build is immune to conditions under 25%, 3 people couldn’t down me for 3 mins cuz im bunker as well, well my team finally comes and helps out and we win the fight and I’m still standing and then the other team gives up and all I hear is “HGH OP kitten that 25% immune to conditions is OP”.

But thing is, you trying to kill me with conditions that’s your issue, all you gotta do is immobilize and normal dps me down with thief or warrior, if you aint got any that’s just too bad!

People just don’t realize that’s all it takes is 1 thing to completely destroy someone, like 100b warrior u immobilize them and they cant do jack, you immobilize 25% immune to conditions before they are immune or do knockdowns on them so they cant dodge or anything and all you have left is to wack them till they dead. And obviously against HGH all you do is eat there conditions and turn them into boons.

I love it when people put there hearts and souls in condition damage and nothng else and wonder why they barely hurt me, and funny thing is since I’m the lowest hp guy they will all target me too, which is good when your bunker!

A lot of people like to go all or nothing, and when your in a bad matchup like those guys, people are gonna cry nerf. I rarely see any balanced builds, its all glass cannon or bunker.

Yeah you see 13k because Foo did work on you guys, you really shouldn’t play overtime because Foo is unstoppable.

there was probably no one that high or rank solo queing. 40+ takes some dedication. Most players time they reach that they found a group.

You don’t earn 50 influence for winning PvP if on different servers, but if you guest to another server, will you help earn influence on said server? Trying to figure out how to get more influence points because I tPvP a lot with my guildies but they are all from different servers.

Sorry I do not understand what you meant to write. If you mean that there are viable warrior builds, I am sure some one might pull something off here and there. The norm how ever is that melee sucks. I “dare” you find on this forum, 10 videos of high level pvp play of any sort, where Melee warrior are actually present. Forget about owning, just showing up on the screen for anything other than getting massacred. All you see out there is:
Ranged Mesmer
Ranged Engineer
Ranged Elementist (big surprise there i know)
Ranged Ranger
Ranged Necro
So on so Forth

At the very most they play kite, until they can close in to spike and then kite again.

Which as i said before, can be intentional, no melee play, that’s cool, would be nice if they stated it thou.

You obviously don’t play smart. Have a engy put up a net turret, have a warrior standby. When he pops net turret goes off and warrior can 100b him down.

As usual JQ running T1 like a boss because the other servers aren’t T1 material.

Yup, games especially MMORPGS now these days, you have to use outside source to even have a clue about any type of meaning or how to use something or do some quest. Like mystic forge, if you never did it before you wouldn’t even have a clue how to use it.

EQ has allakhazam to tell you everything, GW2 has gw2wiki. You just don’t learn stuff ingame anymore, these games are terrible at teaching you stuff.

No the only grind there is, is to have the best looks, but for ascended gear, you get most of it though laurels and guild bounties. Fractals only gives u ring and backpiece, you get that at level 10 fractal, not point in going higher than level 10 because the skins don’t look that appealing.

PvP has leaderboards now though, so if your a competitive pvp’er its worth it.

Looks like things are back to normal, after 3 or 4 days JQ will just alt xp farm. SoR and BG aren’t T1 material.

dude, how much stacks of might do I need to be running around with? Am I suppose to use up all the elixirs? I know you say its situational, but I don’t understand how much might I should keep up, which elixirs are the throwaway ones.

I used up all the elixirs and landed every grenade on this necromancer, I didn’t come close to killing him, is necromancer suppose to win against this build?

Are you suppose to swap weapons a lot, like use #2 grenade then blowtorch and repeat? Because I’m normally in nades, not sure if theres certain critical skills that you should never have a timer on while using this build. Like should I always use blowtorch when its timer is up or #2 nades?

SoR and BG need to double team JQ. JQ thinks numbers=skills.

On SoR a majority of our commanders try to push JQ, but as soon as we do BG decides its a good idea to back door instead of double team JQ. As a result of BG’s action we proceed to push BG and JQ does the same. That’s the nature of a 3 way fight I suppose.

Edit: Forgot to add that BG crying about being double teamed fuels the fire even more. So stop whining and push JQ already.

Not sure if its in this thread, but I was in heart of the mist and someone was saying a certain ranger (not going to include name) was using speed hack. Then I get into a tournament game and I see said ranger on other team.

All I gotta say is that ranger capped it 10 times super fast, I know why that 1 guy told me he don’t mind eles, he hates the rangers more. It wasn’t a speed hack it was something that gives her 25% more speed and all I saw was her jumping all the way to raven. Its faster than ele because rtl has a bigger timer now and that’s all we got.

If I recall correctly, rtl got nerfed because of this map, now its getting the correct nerf, which reduces the length traveled with the orb.

When people say that jumping length got nerfed, I’m pretty sure that was the thief only.

What I have noticed is this: without taking into account premades, it seems that the people on your team will be relatively close to your rating. HOWEVER, the team you will get matched up against will in many cases be a much lower or higher agregate. In other words, even the lowest rated player of the opponent team still seems higher than the highest of your team, and the other way around, in many cases I experienced. In these cases, I thought to myself the match would have been so much better if we had some of their players and they would get some of ours. Of course we don’t know the actual ratings but there is something you can say after you play some people many times over, combined with glory rank and rank on the leaderboards. So I guess what I’m saying is I wish the MMR would put more emphasis on matching against teams than matching with other players within your team.

I was playing my engy a lot yesterday and I noticed that a couple of times, I would use my #2 down skill which pulls people to you, and can interrupt someone finishing you and they would go for a finisher and I would use it and it would say “miss”. That really makes me angry, how do you miss someone not moving and standing on top of you, and no he didn’t have any boons active wasn’t even a guardian it was a ranger. So I think it should be time to FIX engineers, #2 downed state.

I’m pretty certain the player either put a blind on you before stomp, or put a blind on you during stomp, ie once he saw the downed #2 skill animation starting. Not sure if you can do the latter on other classes, but I do it all the time with flamethrower #5 skill on my engi. I have not noticed any bug with our #2 downed skill.

man that’s an awesome leaderboard, I like the style of it, just plain black and white and straight to the point so it loads fast!

don’t worry, playing gasmask wont hurt your rating, it will only make it a lot better if you win.

meh, we just playin PvP now that leaderboards are out, we are already 30k lead, no point in getting any higher than 30-40k lead.

Here are some screenshots of cannon being stuck in one area. Even when you aim it in the middle you still cant go the other direction. I have exited and reentered the cannon too.

Sorry for long post, all I gotta say is, its a point system and they don’t show you your points. I don’t know the exact formula they use but its common sense that if you have 1000 points and beat someone with 700 points you earn 5 points because your considerably higher. That puts you at 1005, now you lose a game to a 700 point person, you go down 50 points because your considerably higher in points than him. Now your at 955 points.

Just look at http://starcraftrankings.com/ for easier understanding. Or this http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=195273 its not GW2 but GW2 uses similar system, just look at that picture under matchmaking rating, I have no idea what all that other stuff is.

Spirit watch is one of the maps where people will leave the game, because it goes straight into a team fight and when the other team dominates you, people lose all hope and leave.

like 50% of time I play this people zerg in middle, if they all go down super fast, they lose hope and leave. This is the only map I know that plays like this, the other maps people are smart enough to not zerg the middle, at least in tournaments that is.

So expect more threads like this while spirit watch is current.

What happened was you probably destroyed some team that’s not even on the rankings, then you got destroyed by one that’s not on the rankings.

If your rank 100 and you beat rank 1100s you don’t go up that much, if your rank 100 and you lose to rank 1100 you will go down fast, because your not suppose to lose to them.

Its like starcraft leaderboards, your ladder points is 3000 and you lose to someone with really bad ladder points you will lose lots of points and the person will gain lots of points that beat u because hes not suppose to beat you.

Ok look at this ladder http://starcraftrankings.com/ if Your that rank10 guy with 1220 points, and you lose to someone that’s like rank 70 with like 850 points, YOU lose like 50 points and he will gain 50 points. So you will drop from rank 10 to rank 14 in 1 game, and if you win another game against someone with 850 points you will only get like 2 points because hes nowhere near you.

Its okay to lose to people higher points/rank/rate, but when you lose to someone lower than you, you lose a lot of points and if they are considerably lower than you, even more points.

A rank 10 guy losing to a rank 1000 guy will go down in ranks and that rank 1000 guy will go up really fast, probably become a rank 900 or in 800s because that’s a big feat. However that rank 10 guy shouldn’t go up in rank, he has to win against rank 1000 guys like 40 games in a row to get to rank 9 or however much is the difference of points between them.

The only difference between starcraft ladder is that it shows your points, GW2 doesn’t want to show you your points.

Ok, so I played a game tournament game, the other team had 3 eles, this is how they do, get orb put on Armor of Earth, when that’s done, go into Mist Form, when that’s done, rtl to the point. Captured. They probably have cleansing fire for snares.

I’m going to start running these tournaments now with an ele, it beats any other class.

This was a 30-50 team so its how to win these games.

Wouldn’t surprise me if some people use bots in PvP to do the right things at right time to win games.
