yup, they told us last month we weren’t going to spectate tpvp because that results in cheating.
And theres a lot of tpvp’ers out there that can cheat too because a lot of tpvp’ers have 2 accounts, a solo que and a ladder account.
rofl, I have this issue everytime patch day, they do some weird thing that’s not even a patch and if you do tpvp after that it will just spam that message all day long and wont let u do tpvp. Only way to get rid of it is when the patch actually happens, when lord who know when the patch will actually happen, maybe in 6 hours haha.
All I gotta say is, if u really don’t want us to do tpvp when that happens don’t let us even que up. The tpvp que register should have a 2nd setting, called “unfortunately tpvp is down, please try again later.” message rather than letting us que and be spamed with message telling us to reload the game for patch that happens in 6 hours most likely.
(edited by uberkingkong.8041)
I keep getting this message because theres an update that’s going to happen but not yet and since I’m que’ed for a tournament game it keeps popping back up and the timer goes over and over and over again. Makes it so its very annoying to do anything else.
Please fix it, so the timer goes away and it cancels the tournament or whatever, just make it so it stops annoying me.
It would make sense that the 80s legendaries would be different than level 100 legendaries because there will obviously be newer and harder to get mats.
I’m not sure if most of you guys only played GW1 and never played a mmorpg before but you have to realize that stuff goes obsolete in mmorpgs.
Why do they always do server maintenance during Jade Quarry primetime?
just because everyone on one team can 1v1 and win against the other team doesn’t make them better. The only thing I find 1v1 good for is when u see a hgh engy tearing up your team and your team is dumb enough to not go after him so u have to 1v1 him.
In solo que its all about following your teammates around because they aren’t going to follow you. When people mention that when you lose the mid fight at start of game you normally lose its because they finish 1 guy, then 10 seconds later another guy and another guy, so your team will all be roaming by themselves and easy pickings for 2 guys or more to gank you. Which leads to your downed and someone tries to help you, you get finished and then 10 seconds later they are down. You pretty much have to be good at evaluating situations.
Also you have to look at yourself and play how your build is made, if your dps you need to be in teamfights, let the bunker take some damage so hes fully targeted before you engage. And if your bunker your objective is to get people to attack you, draw more people to you and hold the point as long as you can.
Theres nothing you can do about 4v5 except backcap and try and get as many glory as you can. make the game worth it even though your most likely to lose. Oh and stick with the team because your going to find yourself in 1v2 or 1v3 situations a lot.
Oh and that one guy is right, you should master soloing svanir and chieftain in hearts of mist. Know when there knockdowns are going to happen so u can dodge or interupt them.
Almost forgot, when you notice someone just tearing up your team, like a hgh engy or a staff ele, target them and annoy them, you will be helping your team a lot even if you eventually die from them because those guys make a huge difference when not targeted.
yes learn to fight on the caps.
Don’t worry, you remember the month wait when only anet could see the leaderboards?
>They made us wait that long so it could stabilize aka the people that never play get off the leaderboards.<—-
Yeah that’s the point in mm necro’s, with a Mesmer and a ranger, to make it hard for you to target them.
Also I’ve notice this a lot on my thief is when you have ranger targeted, you have basilik venom up, the ranger pet is next to the ranger, you try to attack the ranger but he moves and gets out of your range so you wasted your basilik venom on the pet instead of the ranger.
SF is greater than Darkhaven, I don’t think darkhaven will see T5 for a long long time. Because when SF moves to T5 the server that went to T6 from T5 will most likely be better than darkhaven as well.
4 guys ragequit this game.
Anyone have a game where all 5 guys ragequit, I wonder what happens when all 5 leave.

What I noticed is the ranking system isn’t like starcraft type ladder.
Because my team goes against some complete newbs every now and then, and I’ll still go up 70 ranks in leaderboards.
In starcraft if a 1500 player beat a 880 player, he’d only get 1 or 2 more points.
What I noticed is that its not totally you beat better players you rank up.
What I noticed is when your in % , 1 win is 5% more, 1 loss is 5% less, doesn’t matter how great of the other team you beat.
What I noticed is at 90% your next win gets you on the leaderboard.
What I noticed is 600-1000 if you win a game you’ll go up around 100 points no matter if you play against group of people lower rank than you. And vice versa if you lose.
What I noticed is at 400-600 you gain around 70 ranks if you win.
Never been ranked under rank 300 so I have no idea how many ranks you get if you win.
What I noticed is the matchmaking system makes you play with people around your rank and if theres only 1 other team playing at the time around your rank you’ll keep facing them (ive faced same team 3 times in a row a couple times).
What I’ve noticed is the person que’ing up for tournament his rank is the one where the tournament will decide whether what rank team you fight (I was rank 90% with a bunch of other people 800 and leader at 400, we faced a complete 300-400 team a lot of times).
Lastly, I don’t notice the higher ranked people you beat will get you higher faster, all I notice is the wins and lose because it seems higher rank doesn’t mean anything, ill go up 100 more ranks at 900 no matter who I face every single time.
—edit: I think theres some people on leaderboard that never played since it came out.
Oh and I notice that if you get to a spot on leaderboard and don’t play you’ll remain in that area so in theory if you get to rank 1 and never play you’ll be around rank 1 forever it seems.

I started playing GW2 when there wasn’t any gem offers, and just paids and 3 round tournies.
And I’ve always done the 3 round tournies solo que, then eventually I got a group and we did paids and then a day or 2 later they got rid of paids, and you had option to do 2 round tourney for a better reward than a 3 round tourney which was just STUPID.
Anet forgot to adjust the rewards since 2 round tournies were still paids without ticket, so EVERYONE and there mother did them because the reward for it was too great compared to 3 round tourney, then they fix it so 3 round tourney offers a tad bit better reward if you win but since ANET got everyone loving the 2 rounds and the 3 rounds rewards just wasn’t good enough everybody did 2 team and nobody did 3 round.
And that’s how 3 team tourney is no longer available. Anet made the mistake of lifting the tickets and having 2 team offer crazy reward compared to 3 round which is harder to win.
I started at 3 round tourney because it seem’ed easieir than 2 team paids to win.
If people don’t like rank 1’s in tournament game, all ANET needs to do is make 2 tournies require tournament ticket.
In my eyes, anet is not making any progress to developing there tournaments, 1st they go gems then they take em away because anet didn’t like it, then they go QP then they take them away because anet didn’t like it, they make paids then they take them away because anet didn’t like it, they had 3 round tournament but they take them away because anet didn’t like it.
Now we are just stuck with 2 team while anet decides its next move.
Will you see return of gems? who knows
Will you see return of QP? who knows
will you see return of 3 round tourney? who knows
Will you see return of tournament tickets? who knows
The professions in pvp isn’t more broken than the structure of pvp itself.

Too much love on forums isn’t good. Look at what happened to gasmask, hes not rank 1 or anywhere near rank 1 anymore.
Is there a way to stop skills from queing?
What I mean is I’m about to do a pbae knockback, but I get knockbacked before and the exact moment I get knockbacked I que’d up my pbae knockback but since im in the middle of getting knockbacked, it waits till im back up then it executes which is not when I originally wanted to execute it because nobody is near me.
The one big thing I don’t like about GW2 is that the monsters are set in stone. You could pretty much make a strategy guide of where the monsters will be at what kind of monster will be there how many will be there. Bosses spawn exactly here and so on.
I’m not sure if any of you are familiar with Everquest, but in that game the monsters are all over the place, they roam across the entire map, lions wont spawn in 1 exact spot, they spawn randomly all over. Bosses roam.
I think GW2 needs roaming type mega bosses like the sleeper in EQ. Although it will go down fast because one thing I learn about this game is people will zerg anything they see in this game, with however many people they can get before you get message that your in an instanced version of that zone.
I hear a lot of people talking about how they got so much glory and nothing to spend it on, and it get me thinking.
What about if you had a way to spend your glory on custom guild hall/arena map. Where you don’t really create it necessarily or maybe you could, but where you had an option to:
—turn lights out and on or put a timer on when the lights go off and on in certain areas.
—add npcs, say you have a map where you cap a node you got like a guard there, or more depending on how many real players you want to be playing on it.
—add knockdown areas, areas that cause earthquake or random tornado or something, maybe if you got that area captured they don’t affect you.
—add areas with condition and boon effects, like everyone in that area will have stability, or the people that have that area captured get a constant boon of some sort or people that are the enemies of the captured area have constant conditions or reoccurring after certain amount of time conditions.
—add music or creepy sounds to a certain area
—have jumping puzzle type fights or strictly underwater areas.
—option for people to build siege, like each team starts out with a treb or some kind of siege package, place it wherever you want and have it respawn if it gets destroyed.
—have a boss spawn that’s actually pretty tough and he goes randomly around the place and kills people, let people decide if they wanna kill it or not.
—have match types like deathmatch, 5v5v5, 8v8v8, capture the flag, last man standing, reverse tag style game (where person that’s it is the guy everyone wants to kill, longer your it the more points you get), demolition (where whoever or whatever team destroys most siege or whatever is victor.)
That’s just some ideas I just thought of, but I think if you allowed glory to be spent on stuff like this, or maybe have like a guild/team glory where you all pitch in to buy things to have a really awesome custom arena with your own kind of map or game style, it would create more teams or pvp strict guilds, and they would get highly recognized too because everyone would talk about or want to play at so and so’s server because they have super awesome map or gamestyle, because you got jaws swimming around and you have two capture nodes on jumping puzzle while people knocking you off and creepy sounds happen when you go in the water and lights are going off and on and someone is trebbing that jp so you have to avoid that as well, then the other node is in some underwater maze.
Get anet to set something up so players can trade glory for gems and glory for gold. Problem solved?
Well, admittedly the glory to anything conversion rate would probably be kitten all though.
Yeah I think anet should do this.
I was going to mention glory for levels but that might be too far.
But its kinda sad when you want to spend pvp glory on PvE stuff, it just shows you that pvp stuff is really easy to get, or theres not much incentive to actually buy whats available.
I’m not from those servers, I’m from Jade Quarry and I just like seeing SF take control of everything in WvW. In T7 they had entire EB, pretty sure T6 isn’t much difference than T7 so its only matter of time before they have everything. Bwahahahahaha.
Rely on swiftness.
In WvW you can use rtl, switch weapon to staff and use swiftness, switch back and use rtl.
Works really good when you gotta run back across the entire map.
Bids* on Sorrows Furance, T8 king, T7 king, destroying T6 right away and moving on to T5 in 1 week. I’m rooting on Sorrows Furance!
I got a feeling Jade Quarry is going to win by 50 or 60k this time, if we really want to 70k.
Elixir C says it removes all conditions.
However I was playing some PvP, and I was getting hammered with every condition possible, and having huge stacks of bleeds. So I used elixir C and it removed some conditions, but I still had those bleeds on me and confusion and another one I cant remember. I believe it removed 5 but I wasn’t counting.
Next time, I see myself with a lot of conditions I’ll try and screenshot it then screenshot the effects of elixir c.
So my question is, is Elixir C suppose to remove all conditions or a certain amount of conditions in PvP.
I dont get people with argument “I just waited for color rotation….” and that makes it OK? I mean dont you think players should be able to get it by exploring the world not by server transfers or waiting on color rotation…
Sometimes you gotta wake up really early or play really late, whenever your server is more primetime then the other servers.
And if you start doing getting the WvW stuff first and go back whenever your server has the keep your need or whatever, you should be close if not done with all the WvW stuff.
If your actually on the top 1000 leaderboards, don’t do it, but if you just have a percentage, go ahead.
If you lose with % you only go down 5% no matter who you play and when you win you go up 5% no matter how great there rank is.
Your “job” is not just to stand and guard a point. Your job is to win the game. To achieve that you have to think outside of the box and try different tactics instead of /afk on the shrine. Your team is most likely losing because of you. No offense meant.
Give me a couple of examples. And explain /afk on the shrine. Is everyone guarding a point “afk” until the other team shows up?
An opposing team member could come over the hjill at ANY moment. When do you decide to abandon your point and join the zergfest?
Go hide around that point and lure people.
And I never said you could last 1v4 for long time, if you got 4 people on u and your the one guy, that’s good, unless they have the other two caps.
And like people said before it aint hard to have a decent % in solo q, being at 0 and 5% means you lose pretty much every game and win one then lose them. Means you cant hold your weight.
Because like in your previous post, your whining about 1v2 and 1v3 as a bunker. Go play another class if you don’t like 1v2 and 1v3s, just quit bunkering, maybe you’ll get into the 10% tile.
All I gotta say is, this game as a lot of pick up raiders aka 70+ gathering to do an event. They need to start making some open world raids that actually require teamwork/coordination that is scaleable for 70+, not just zerg over the event and done.
I swear if they had an event where 4 people had to stand in different spots far away from the boss, the event would never be over. All people do is zerg over things.
PvP zergfest.
WvW zergfest.
PvE mega bosses zergfest.
GW2 in general, zergfest.
That seems to be the trend for my guardian. The random teams I am assigned to lose much more than they win. I do my job and hold points. But the opposing teams just take more points (other than mine, until several finally come together and take me).
Since the leaderboards list your team rating, not your personal rating, and your “team” is always a different, randomly assigned set of players who cannot coordinate with real-time voice communications, often with a couple of players who do nothing to help effectively…
…eventually your rating will be the average rating of a random team against the average premade team. And I would guess that is a 0 to 5% percentile.
I would hope when they create a solo queue they let us random folks “start over”.
I disagree, those rank 40 you are fighting could also be people that hotjoin glory farm.
I’ve played well over 200 solo que matches, I only see a 5% chance of facing a premade, and not all premades are actually good.
What you make it sound like is, the other team caps near, then caps center sooner or later, than destroys you at far because they ‘overwhelm me’ is not what a bunker should be saying, bunkers want to be ‘overwhelmed’. And if your a bunker crying about 1v2, 1v3, 1vx your just plain sad.
As the other guy said about solo que, the only constant is you, and if your not holding your weight or carrying more than what you should be, your not going to be seeing that many wins.
Last night I saw this Mesmer playing, r57 playing with the ranks 30s and all I gotta say is he rocked my team at the trebuchet and he rocked us with trebuchet hits, then at 389 team score to our 210 he switched to a warrior (I guess he trying to get his legionarre title) and he won the game, he basically carried twice the load, shouldn’t even been in that game, and everyone was solo que in that game because the previous game he was on my team. We tried to take him out individually but he rocked each and every one of us, we eventually toke out the treb and treb was back up in mere seconds, which made it mere waste of time trying to fight him. That 57 guy alone made our team lose hope in winning.
After seeing how that guy rocked our worlds, solo que is all about skill, blaming others and whining isn’t going to get you anywhere. The only real factor that you can have a bunch of loses is from bad luck with afk/no shows/ early leavers.
Edit: people on the leaderboard are actually good, I wouldn’t say solo que will make you lose your ranking up until 600, then its probably all premades.
There are some people on this leaderboard that I see solo que a lot, and whenever I face them, I lose and if I recall most of them play Mesmer. One guy I can say is A P O L L O if you face that guy or see him in solo que, your gonna lose, I don’t remember who that Mesmer dude that changes to warrior at end is though hes very good.

All I gotta say is that this game lies to you when it says “bosses scale to how many people are there”
I did an event with 70+ people for mega boss in caldeon forest and guess what happened. Boss died in 6 seconds. Also meteor shower never hurt him due to culling.
If your going to boast about scaling bosses with people, then you need to actually do it.
I did mega boss event in caldeon forest, and wasn’t able to target the giant wurm.
There was more than 70 people there so the only thing I can think of to not target him was due to culling.
Also did meteor shower on him and had no dmg.
Pretty messed up that I have to wait another 2 hours for this, which I wont.
You can’t police a DC, they should leave it the way it is. How would they tell the difference between a real DC and someone pulling an Ethernet cable?
This is pretty obvious people ragequitting.
I hate ragequiters, so I support anything they do to try and rid them.
I’m in a pvp guild, but a lot of members are in different worlds, would be nice if you could make benefits for pvp in the guild go across all worlds, as well as earning influence via pvp.
Currently if your in a guild and all 5 members are on different worlds, you will earn 5 influence each instead of 50. I would like to see a change. Also would like to see more things pvp related for guild upgrades.
Thank you.
When anet said they’d introduce gems months ago, they did, but they got rid of it.
If they reintroduce gems, they should only reward it to the top 2 teams in a 16 team tournament.
That way, it strongly discourages pve’ers to farm pvp events for gems, because only the real pvp teams will be earning them.
Heck, bring back tournament tickets as well.
The problem with pvp not becoming esport is because people don’t see the same people that often, and a 16 team tournament, the top teams will see each other often and people getting beaten by the top teams will recognize who they are and why they are the top players by getting there butts kicked by them.
I never played against lil davinci never got wooped by him, so how do I know hes one of the best out there since I never seen him play against me before?
So how does one earn QP now?
I know a couple months ago you would do paid tournament. But there is no such tournament that rewards with you with QP currently.
Also the current top 50 on the leaderboard currently aren’t the top 50 QP players, since its been months since we had QP.
Ex. Gasmask I know is one of the top 50 QP players, perhaps top 10, but currently he’s ranked in the 70s.
I hope BG isn’t burning themselves out this week to impress potential transfers
You guys may crash and burn next week if so!
SoS /cough/ I mean BG doesn’t want to go back to T2.
I think stealth is fair, but a ranger going into stealth every 15 seconds or less is NOT fair
The issue isn’t stealth, its having to retarget someone, so if they change targeting where someone goes stealth, your left without a target, but if you don’t target someone else and the person comes out of stealth you automatically target him again without clicking on him.
That would fix everyone’s issue with stealth.
(edited by uberkingkong.8041)
what I really hate is starting finisher then go into mist form.
If they wanted to allow you to use mist form while doing finisher, why cant you go into mist form than do finisher?
You can go invis and do finisher, why don’t they make it like mist form, where you have to start finisher than stealth if you want a stealthy finish and not allowed to stealth before finish.
The fact that you can stealth first or last when doing a finisher makes me think stealthing is allowed, but not being able to finish while in mist form makes me think its not suppose to happen, but finishing then being able to go into mist form just breaks all those rules.
1v1:
Teamfights:
—focus the engi down. It’s a pure sustained dps build so if you’re not focusing the engi, joke’s on you.
This.
Cant count how many times I target the hgh engy and my team keeps trying to kill the other guys running in circles while the engy is sitting on top just throwing nades casually.
be able to join a hotjoin or tourney from ANYwhere. this means more ppl playing pvp cuz they can do pve stuff while waiting for queues. they also dont have the hassle of warping to mists, then trying to get back to their PVE place
might end up with empty mists tho
You already are able to do this. goto hearts of mist, que up, leave hearts of mist and resume pve play. Or go join a hotjoin while que’ed to glory farm.
Another thing you can switch characters durning tournament play as well. So if your que’ed with nothing but bunkers, you can change your class to be a non bunker class.
Some KN guilds (3 to 5) gonna transfert over BG or SoR very soon :p
SoR could use SEA/Oceanic guilds, no queue times and you guys can make a noticeable difference.
The same could be said for Blackgate. In fact, the same can be said for all servers vs. JQ currently heh. Anyhoo …
.
Indeed. Anet made the JQ bandwagon stacking worse by allowing free transfers for as long as they did. Also the commander who supposedly left JQ for a “challenge” kept the recruiting process going by constantly starting or bumping JQ recruit threads, as if finishing the week with 60k+++ leads wasn’t challenging enough, hah.
Never understood why Anet allowed free transfers for as long as they did, what was it, 3 months?
Anyhoo, the next huge player purge that may change the Tiers some will be when the next big MMO hits the store shelves and we all know which game that is….
haters gonna hate.
Yeah when the elder scrolls online comes out I’ll be playing that. Since GW2 is F2P I may comeback when a GW2 expansion comes out and level cap is 85 or 90 or when raids come to GW2 or real pvp tournaments or guild vs guild.
There’s only a bank in WvW if the keep has the upgrade for a bank.
So if your on a decent server where your world can control its keeps like mine JQ, then you’ll always have access to a bank, but if your one of the servers that cant hold its on keeps, then tough luck for you.
Dragonbrand and TC will also slow each other down in T2, consequently, T1 will have the same formation for a while unless a server implodes…
Yeah I agree, and I don’t think T1 will change for a long time. BG and SoR keep competing for 2nd place.
And T2 is pretty stabilizied/equal.
As an Ele I can’t even test builds without being accused of botting in tPvP…
Here are a few pics.
nerf incoming for your n00b…..
D/D Ele focusing on CC & Dodging.
Example here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSyiTT41LLU&hd=1 =)
yup I agree with u, I’ve seen a d/d ele with 20 stacks of might take down 2 glass cannon people instantly with just burning speed before.
notice his hp dropping 5k just from running through the eles burning speed.
Well, Waha is quit, no more Waha’s 80 zerg
JQ queue’s up all 4 maps during SEA.
This is from Waha himself because he isn’t able to jump FOO around. He is committed to one BL.
You have talked to WaHa? Okay sure…
I have been on many many many times SEA and there are only queues on whichever map FOO decides to hop to. Not everyone gets in when they hop because they fill up the queue really fast.
Even then, it’s 5 minutes tops.
Stick to talking about things on your own server. You’d think you’d just transfer to JQ and get it over with you talk about us so much.
i agree, only reason waha says there is ques in all 4 maps is cause he cant take his 80 man to other maps cause more than often there is 25+ jq in those maps already/
if what you said is true, JQ won’t be able to compete with other T1 servers unless it suddenly have a massive NA guild to join them.
i really hope what you said is just a rumor.
Nope its not a rumor.
But what is true is that if BG and SoR truly want to stay in T1 servers, they will need a massive SEA guild to join them.
EMP left because they couldn’t field all there members durning NA primetime, its not gonna affect anything because que’s are still full durning NA primetime.
Now if FOO left, there wouldn’t be any SEA except for Ge.
And what I keep hearing is BG cant handle JQ SEA time, SoR cant handle JQ SEA time. FOO is too strong for you. BG and SoR better start recruiting some SEA guilds if they want to stay in T1.
Quick score update!
