I can see it both ways. However, during beta I experienced driver crashes somewhat frequently. Upon the full launch, I played without a hitch up until the Halloween patch (I believe the patch to turn everything back to normal, post Halloween).

So I just find it hard to believe it’s absolutely nothing on their end when everything else for me is working fine and had been working fine on this game.

I’m experiencing 1-2 black screens or crashes a day. I like the game, so I’ll keep playing until the annoyance of black screens outweighs the joy of the game. hopefully it will magically fix itself.

I’m having frequent black screens since around Halloween patch as well.

I’ve tried tweaking everything:
-Set power consumption to max performance in Nvidia control panel
-Set AA and other settings to application controlled in Nvidia control panel
-Tried windowed mode
-Tried repairing
-Got rid of an SMAA injector to see if that was the issue
-Tried several different drivers (currently running 310.33 beta)
-Tried clocking CPU to factory clock
-Tried lowering the clock speed on my GPU (recommended by someone)

My CPU hover’s around 30C idle, up to 37C while playing. GPU sits 37C idle, 57C during GW2. When ‘blackscreening’ if I alt+tab or ctrl+alt+delete, I can occasionally save it from locking up completely and the video driver will recover.

I highly doubt its on my end because I don’t have problems with other games. But maybe this specific game my rig doesn’t like. Can run Crysis 2 on max with Tessallation pack and HD pack. BL2, Skyrim, BF2, etc, etc.

Occasionally, GW2 will crash at the same time and I’ll be able to send a report.

If you find the video interview with one of the devs with some blogger chick, I beleive he said it will be an up scaled zone. So a level 80 zone, but all players would be scaled similarly to WvW.

Something I’ve always wondered: what affects the healing of the elixir infused bombs with the engineer? I assume power affects its damage and this you do x damage as a result. Do you then heal for x? Or do you heal for a different number modified by healing stats?

Running the plinx chain and Pentinent/shelter defenses for karma and gold lvls me up regularly. The side effect will be gettin even more karma an gold. Other than that supply camp runs in WvW also nets you a bunch of exp.

Also crafting will give you 10lvls per 0-400 grind. If you have none lvls that’s approx 80 lvls. It would have costed ~20 gold to lvl them all, with the price increases, probably more now
Edit: use crafting xp boosters to help when crafting for a bit more xp. Then obviously use xp boosters when farming.

It really sucks to have this happen, but for efficiencies sake, I’m doing the mystic clovers first for my legendary. Why?: if you didn’t notice, everything the forge spits out on that recipe is used for the other gifts anyways. So it’s not a huge loss if you don’t get as many clovers as you expected since your closer to collecting your t6 mats, etc. this will save you from farming more than you have to for gold or mats. You still gotta grind out that karma though

Although, 0 clovers is really messed up and I’d try a bug report or petition just to be safe. I doubt you’ll end up getting anything, but at least they might look into it.

Anvil rock here, I’ve seen a huge decrease in bots. There used to be hordes of them farming the CS Pentinent and Shelter DE defenses, this last week, zero. This is also made evident by the rise in prices, the bots aren’t flooding the market as badly. I’m sure they’ll be back, but this is the best ban wave to date on AR.

You can’t compare apples to oranges. He’s a different class than you so he has different base stats that will be scaled. Get an Ele friend and then compare stats. Also which gear you have can affect the specific stats.

Ele’s have low health pools along with Guardians, Rangers are in the middle ground, then Necros and Warriors are on the high side of health pools. Get a lvl 5 Warrior into WvW and I bet he’ll have more health than you when scaled.

TL:DR – The difference you’re seeing is because of Profession difference, not improper scaling.

You may add me. Anvil rock server. I have A mic and TS. Currently have a guardian and Mesmer fully exotic lvl80 (no MF). I currently mainly want to run SE, CoF, HotW, CoE and Arah. I’m also well versed in TA, but have full gear from there so not real interested atm.

I’m mainly avail on week nights.

Anet usually claims this is on your end or ISPs and I tend to beleive them. I was using a local Internet provider I had never used before and got this error all the time. No issues surfing the web or anything. I did all the work arounds Anet suggested, did port forwarding, everything. Nothing worked. I also tried 3 different routers. I decided to drop the company and go back with another that I used for a long time with no issues. I’ve been playing for 2 months straight now without this error.

TL:DR it’s probably your ISP. Sorry about the bad news.

There are two tabs when talking to the vendor. The first tab is bland cheap stuff, the second tab is the unique skins. Click on the second tab.

The main thing that affects my fps is vsync. Turning it off can skyrocket fps.

The next thing I would check is the tech support area of forums for tips on what to adjust in you nvidia control panel. If I remember correctly, GW2 does not like SLI but that might be related to crashing issues over fps issues.

There are tribal looking light armor sets, but they have a different look to them. You can get them from karma vendors from lvl 30-60 zones more or less. If someone does find this armor, I’d be stoked. However, I have yet to find it in fireheart.

I think people haven’t replied much cause they don’t really know what to say since its not as hard as you make it out to be.

As the previous commenter said, make sure your gear has at least 1 bonus to toughness or vitality and that the gear is your level (I’m assuming you’re the appropriate level for straits).

The next thing to note is that the Orr zones have more difficult (smarter debatable) mobs and a high density with a lot of CC. It will take you a few tries to get used to it. If you plan on running around skipping mobs, bring lots of condition removal, stability and stealth (for thief and mes).

That’s all I can think of, hopefully that’s a spring board for you to go from.

It was supposedly in the betas but was removed from the live release. Currently there’s no way to get it. Since the models exist, the armor could be released in the future.

The skins themselves are level 70+ dropped exotics. I’ve seen them given out for map completion (frostgorge, straits, Malchors, CS) and very rarely in chests.

Lvl 80 Rares you can craft. I personally like the spear.

The ones for Crucible of Eternity tokens are cool.

The bug is that the number of runes displayed equals pve runes equipped + spvp runes equipped (which is on your separate armor in the mists). As far as I know it’s only a display bug, so they should still work normally.

It should, it will also help with the total healed when activated.

However, I’d recommend stacking Vitality and power for a warrior, but that’s just me. If you want the best of both worlds, the Twilight Arbor (and I’m sure others) armor has +healing, vitality and power. The main issue with passive healing on a warrior is you have so much health. It’s really not replenishing much of your health.

I think the 30 new events refer to new permanent content aside from Halloween. I’ve found a new Jumping Puzzle, Dynamic that turned to a mini dungeon and one of the ‘griefing’ NPC guild events already. Just keep an eye out, you’ll find them.

They are new content that were just released at the same time as the hallooOooween event. In other words, they’ll stay. And yes they’re kind of instanced, but start in the normal map. It’s not a personal instance or group like a dungeon. You’ll see other ppl in there that are not in your group.

Upon reading the patch notes I set out to find some of the new DE’s and JP’s. I found the first JP in Fireheart Rise, and it wasn’t too challenging of a JP, but a pretty fun boss fight at the end. It had more to it then the typical dodge 2 attacks and dps it forever. I think they were technically only Vet mobs, but they were tough with 3 people because of the environment, etc. Definitely an improvement on boss fights. I got 3-4 Greens my level.

Next one I found was a DE chain that turned more into a Mini-Dungeon. It was in Dredgehaunt Cliffs. Theres a giant Dwarven door and from there you can figure out the rest. It was a fun little dungeon that took 2 of us maybe 30+mins to complete. It was more than just clear mobs, etc. I won’t ruin it for others, but it was basically more of a puzzle dungeon. Not only that, but it was divided into a chain of DE’s while in the dungeon, so you got some karma out of it. As far as the rewards I got 2-3 Greens my level and then a level 80 Rare upgrade component. So not too bad all n all compared to all blues that like to spawn.

Long Story short, go out and find these new DEs/Mini Dungeons/JP’s. It seems they’ve attempted to take some feedback and make them more entertaining. I think they’re doing a good job on it based on these 2 experiences.

You can probably find a crafted one with the stats you want and transmute it with the looks of your AC sword. Unfortunately, that’s another gold or two you need to spend.

There’s a thread on one of the other subforums about potential increased load times for zoning since the last patch. I use a SSD and have a good 20Mbps line and the load time after the 10-11 patch seemed to double, maybe triple. So you’re not alone and hopefully it was something on ANets end that they will patch up.

What probably happened was someone claimed to sell some item cheaper than Trading post so they’d ask for a trade by mail or something. When the buyer sends money, the seller just doesn’t send the item.

The trading post gets rid of the need to direct trade with players to sell, yet people still try it and get scammed. I saw several people in the early weeks complaining of being scammed (granted, the TP was down for some time.)

I don’t know that this is what happened to the poster, but that’s about the only way to be scammed other than gold sellers and fake crafters.

Well, there’s also karma sets in Malchors leap and Cursed Shore that also look simar. They are obtained from an npc when temples are taken over. That concept art looks like it inspired those two sets, the karma ones and dungeon.

They’ve stated in a recent thread that they are revamping rewards again. The first part was so that if you don’t finish, you will still walk away with something instead of empty handed. It also sounded like they were gonna up the loot as well. This is to come next patch. So that should either be next week or with the Halloween update.

Something that I thought of: How well is your server doing in WvW? Those bonuses add up and if you had decent bonuses and then WvW just reset, you could have lost 10% healing, etc from the random bonuses. That can add up after a while.

The armor you get by spending tokens from the Arah dungeon is very similar to the left side one.

Edit: You spend the tokens (shards) at the vendor in Lions Arch near the WvW portals. You can also talk to him just to preview the armor if you wish to get a better look.

Prophecies still has arguably the most expensive/grindy armor set in GW1 way before EotN. http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Obsidian_armor

Most of the EotN exotic sets were cheaper than the expansions aside from the one from the super final dungeon against the stone summit. I think the only exotic set that rivaled the prophecies set in terms of price and grinding was the vabbian from Nightfall.

1: Get your exotics, and then possibly the skins you want for them. This can be done by running dungeons, crafting or karma farming.
2: Play WvW
3: Play sPvP (max out Pvp rank)
4: 100% Map completion
5: craft a legendary
6: Run all of the paths in every dungeon (I think there’s around 30)
7:collect things like all the dyes.
8: level, play and gear another character, you can do a different race and order to get more background and story than you got in your first play.
9: unlock all achievements.
10: Level up all crafts

The list goes on, but those are main ones. Someone once posted a thread along the lines of “80 things to do at level 80” but I can’t find it. I’ve put around 300hrs in and still havin fun, the game is what you make of it.

I personally level and gear more level 80’s to farm more dungeons for more dungeon gear for them. I fit WvW and spvp in between as well. The game is what you make of it. If you feel like there’s no more for you, move on. There’s nothing wrong with that. However there’s supposed to be new content on the 22nd if that helps any.

I ran Forward/Up path today with a newbie in the group as well in near record time. If anything, I would have guessed them easier.

I’ve noticed this as well. I thought it was just me. (Also on an SSD)

Ran Twilight Arbor the last 2 days. On the Foward/Up path, when you fight the Mesmer Vivena, most/all the party would crash part way through the fight. When it happened yesterday, all 5 members crashed. Today, all except one member crashed. A error report popped up and we all sent in a report as well. We were able to kill her the second round, but it was a pain running back from the beginning and starting her fight all over.

Obviously I don’t know exactly what’s happening to cause this, but it seems like more than a coincidence it happened twice on the same boss in 2 days.

I’ve solo’d a champion as a Mesmer. Mesmers are good at surviving fights when the odds are stacked against you. However, it took a long time. I was able to easily deal with his adds that kept respawning too.

I think the main thing is your skill and build. It can probably be done with any class, you just need to learn your class well.

I don’t recall any yellow items given for karma except for cultural ones in the 5 main cities and in Orr. Also WvW vendors

Mesmer has the curtain ability for swiftness and then a teleport ability that speeds things up too. It’s good for getting around Orr since you also have a cloak skill to hide and a mantra to instantly remove roots and cripples. You can then also use mass invisibility to get around really tricky spots or Moa morph to disable a really bad spawn you need to get around. For all those reasons, it actually might be faster for getting aroun high lvl places than other classes.

I’ve played Mesmer to lvl 80, Engineer to 55, and ranger/guard/necro to 30. In my opinion thus far, Ranger and Guardian are the easiest to lvl and play solo pve. However, Mesmer and Engineer are the most fun for me shortly followed by guardian. Ranger was kind of simple and boring to me, but everyone has their taste.

Based on all that, I’d say Guardian, but be aware, despite being heavy armor, they have a low health pool.

I just completed this quest, the mask looked cool in the tiny icon window, but it wouldn’t preview. I accepted it to see the skin, when equipped, it still doesn’t show up.

I’ve played staff Mesmer since 3 day headstart and have yet to get stuck. From what I’ve heard it’s more of an issue of the terrain rather than the skill. So report the location your having issues with. I guess the shallow water areas have posed a problem.

I’ve also heard that sometimes you can get out using the portal skill. Although, if you’re stuck in combat, you can’t swap for that skill.

To save money: if you’re out farming and want to go to a city, under your hero panel click PvP and go to the heart of the mists and there’s a gate to LA. This is free and will save you 1-4s each return trip. From LA you can go to whatever city using the Asura gates.

Likewise, if you want to port to a zone, get to LA by the same method. Use the Asura gates to get to the city closest to the zone you want to port. All in all you’ll only be spending around a max of 3s for a round trip to somewhere and back using this method.

Sharpening stones reset when you enter a new zone, I beleive.
