Don’t forget Engi! So many blast finishers (bomb, turrets, thumper turret belt skill + active skill) and access to several fire fields. What’s funny is that HGH got nerfed because stacking might was considered OP back in the day.

Well 2 classes in a game that has only 8 is 25% of the classes.
Next class balance update engi flame thrower is getting a blast finisher on a 4.75s cd (if traited), they also have fire fields and most engi builds have points in the boon duration traitline. This has potential to create +1 op might stacking build.
that’s because 3 stacks of might by themselves mean a lot less than swiftness and retaliation. might is just a “tweak” to your numbers if you want, while the other 2 add additional effects to you character.
the problem is in how easy it is to stack it in pvp nowadays with runes of strenght and how much those runes benefit from it (hoelbrak isn’t that bad).
i wouldn’t suggest a nerf that impacts pve or wvw honestly (and gvg), might stacking is fine there, it might be (no pun intended) better to just give them more counters by improving boon-stripping.
…or maybe just halve the base duration in pvp only.
3secs of retal is not even close to the dmg boost you get with 3 stacks of might for 20s.
20/3 = lasts 6.6 times longer than retal.
Might is such a strong boon becuase it not only gives 35 power per stack but also 35 condi dmg. Again synergizing with celstial builds. 105 power and 105 condi a total of 210 stats for 20s by blasting 1 field. This doenst look to be op in builds other than celestial, because if the build is not making use of the condi AND power they only get “usefull” 105 stats.
Sometimes I play a 0-0-30-10-30 celestial hambow, and you can get about 20 stacks alone in the optimal scenario when you blast the bow F1 with bow #3 and hammer #F1. Of course that with more players get even easier, but it is still too easy to stack by yourself.
5 (signet)+ 6 (2 blasts)+ 9 ( sigil of battle swaping 3 times)+ 2 (1 stack swaping weapon swaping 2 times)

Nerf the war class won’t solve the problem, since other classes can do it too.
Comparing the blast on fire with any other field the discrepancy is obvious. Most of them have 3s duration, poison field is 5s and lightning 10s swiftness, but Fire has 20 seconds.

light – 3s retal
Everyone is running celestial because with that you get almost the crit dmg as zerker, the crit chance is covered by sigils of inteligence ( and the celestial crit chance is not bad too) the only thing you really lack is power. But the power is not a problem becuase of how easy is to stack might blasting fire fields+sigils+runes of strengh/hoelbrak. So with celestial you get a very decent survivablity and almost the dmg of a zerker.
The blast fire field BASE duration is too long. 3 stacks with 20s base is too much compared with the other blast finish combo effect. A build can get 75% might duration ( 30 traits+ 45 strengh) will get 3 stacks of might for more than 30s.
My idea to change it: reduce the base duration from 20 to 10-15 seconds or the number of stacks from 3 to 2. The side effect is that it would also make a little harder for pvers to stack might. Another idea would be reduce the power you get per stack of might from 35 to maybe 25-30.
What is a grey market?
It was actually just a test. To see how the market was going to react to my post on the forums. On gw2 spidy you can see 2 high peaks on the sell price after I posted this. This kind of prove that people TRY to manipulate stuff.
So I just notice there is less than 120 of it on the TP. Why is it not been manipulated? Just wondering why dont someone just buy all the 120 available (about 400g) and control the entire supply in the market. This item is so rare I got like less than 5 playing for about 2 years so it is unlikely the economy can generate more of those.
This was the worst patch ever. They could fix it changing all the ruins to 1 or 2 supply camps. Maybe 1 tower and 2 supply camps. Or go back to the old lake.
Looks like the solution is to build trebs in the keeps and 1 or 2 stay there to treb the ruin. Time to lvl up treb mastery. Looks like they only care about spvp ¬¬.
For wvw I like to run 0-10-30-30-0 staff/gs armor: PVT/sentinel + celestial jewlery +pvt backpack., knight weapons. Sigil of generosity on staff, bloodlust in gt ; sigil of energy after 25stacks. Around 21k hp with wvw buff, 3k atk with 25 stacks, 3.1k armor , around 60% crit dmg, 30% crit chance. 45% boon duration.

The biggest problem is that if a guild decide to transfer it loses all the influence and all the guild missions, that will take + than 2 month to unlock back
When you could login in a reset night and go to any map without stay in a long queue. With less zergs, lag and queues. Is better to be in a loser server in a lower tier than in this zerg fest. But seems the situation getting worse, everyday more guild/players bandwagon to db.
After playing a lot with almost every weapon I came to the conclusion that mace is not a very good weapon for dungeon/wvw. Its not that it is useless but the other weapons are more usefull. For example staff/hammer gives a better support than mace+shield / staff, because protection> regeneration and spawmable blast finishers from the hammer will help the party more than no finisher running mace+shield.
As for DPS the mace autoatck (chain3) is slow will be very hard to hit if the enemy know how to play, cause you will have no or little criple skills. GS autoatk hits faster and although they have the same range on the toolpick the GS seems to be much easier to land hits.
If you run mace+shield or focus you wont get the effect of the 2handed weapon coldown reduction, it is more used if you run staff/hammer or staff/GS or GS/hammer. You will spend 1 extra trait if you want to trait the shield.
I used to play staff/mace shield focus in zergs, so the startegy was stay with staff 90% of the time and use the mace(with sigil of energy) as a panic button. If you see that you are been zerged or your team is wiping you can have 2 dodges+ line of warding+ 3 shouts converting conditions into boons, 2 stun breaker, pop the 3 virtues and use renewed focus, use the virtues again, the extra dodge from swaping to the mace+ the protection of the shield4 1 block from mace3 and cast mace2 while you run. But your main is not the mace is the staff.
I’ve even made the legendary mace but dont use it anymore, cause that build (0-10-30-30-0 shouts+boon duration) you sacrifice all your dps in sigle target to be able to support + tag enemy and become very very hard to kill. With the staff/gs you still have the survivabilty but change 1aoe pull+little heal+ sybol of regeneration for dmg 1 leap+aoe blind+aoe push+retaliation symbol. The extra leap and dmg will help much more than 1 block and protection, cause you already have lots of defensive tools.
You can try to make a one handed zerker but how do you plan land your hits with a weapon that is slow, has no leap, no cripple, no stun ?
I’d love to see something more out of RF. I currently use it almost exclusively but it feels kind of underpowered for an elite. Virtue recharge is nice, but it’s mainly an “Oh kitten” button to help you extend a fight. I agree that a stun breaker would be nice, though we already have access to several in our utilities.
Yes if running shout or meditaion we have 2 stun breaker, but ele cantrips has 3 so I dont see a problem for our elite be another stunbreaker
Renewed focus should be a stun breaker like mist form from ele. Sometimes you are been zerged already used the 3 shouts and cant use the imune because you get stuned. Mist form is not an elite skill , has lower cd and breaks stun…. Opinions about it.
hope they remove one stun break fron cantrip and put in signet or glyph. the only kind of utility that I can think that are as useless as conjure is ranger shouts.
Why all the stun breakers are Cantrips? Played almost every class and this is the first time I saw it. all them have at least 2 kind of utility with a stun breakers. Are the devs forcing ele to use cantrips? looks like the most popular build is d/d cantrip….
Looking for a server from T4-T7 that is not full of zergs evertwhere, where players can form groups of 5-15 and take towers/camps without face a 60men zerg. Not so full of players but dont want a desert server with no one in the map neither. Preference for a server with low/medium NA (afternoon/night) coverage. Need sugestions.
I am at T2, sometimes you’ll get long queues and the fights become a zerg vs zerg most of the time. I think you will be better in a middle tier server not too low but not too high. Try to find a guild first before you chose the server. My guild is considering move to middle tier because most of the time there are so many players that the only strategy and gameplay involved is portal bomb and stack might. A fight between 20×20 is much more fun that 60×60.

You are talking about open field battles, its completely different from focus all your forces in DB towers.

looks like FA and TC like to work together agaist DB. No its not because we are in first place, it happens even when we are in second or third. of course its not the entire server but I wonder if some guilds from FA and TC are using the same ts to plan atks in DB.
When TC get SM FA almost never atk them, even knowing that is hard for them defend their land and SM. when DB has SM FA and TC will atk SM and our 1/3 of the map

After the spvp tourney ended no one was teleported back to the mists. I tried to relog and to restart the game but it didnt work. What should I do?
They are good in wvw and weak in spvp ( My opinion). Thieves were nerfed (mug) and only kill players super fast if they have 25stacks of bloodlust+ full berserker + traited for that, so they have around 12-13k hp, guardians have good healing but they have 10k-15k less hp than a warrior , and eles have the same hp of thieves and the light armor, if you remove their boons and all mobility they would become just easy targets for everyone.
You can’t balance the real pvp (wvw) based on a stand in the circle game.
Both guardian and eles need boons to be strong, you can use anti-boon mecanics like corruptboon, mesmer/thief/sigils/traits for boon removal or do + dmg per boon. And I dont see a problem of 2 thieves kill you if you are alone, its a 2×1 would be unbalanced if they lose.
The way it is now it gives more rewards for the player that is contributing less for the party, because if you are using all magic find you reduce your dps or survivability, the others will have to do more efforts to compensate the one running full mf gear. If the sum of all players magic find be divided between all the party members it’ll be more fair.
My focus is wvw, decided to do some spvp only for the titles, but seens everything that I use in my build is nerfed to the ground in spvp. Save your selves from 14s to around 7s, my combo of boon duration runes 20% instead of 40%, dodge heal less, can use my sigil (sigil of generosity)…. why is guardian so weak compared with wvw:?

Chill encrease the “normal” skills cooldown by 66%, it need to encrease the thief’s skill cost by 66% to be balanced with the other classes. What would you think if one class was imune to one condition withtout using any trait or skill for it?

We only have 2 combo finisher (without water weapons) and bot are in the staff, the autoatck and a long cooldown blast finisher staff #4. Axe #3 could be a blast finisher or scepter #2, etc… Warriors has combo finisher in almost all weapons, greatsword and sword have a low cooldonw, guardians hammer #2(blast with only 5s cooldown), mesmer sword #2, every other class has more combo finisher than necros. Necros have no leap finishers, deaths shroud #2 can be a leap finisher.
lol i completely forgot that I could buy them with laurels + ectos. Now i can buy my accessories without have to log on when my guild decide to use the quest. Another question if I got invites for 30guilds and can I do 30 quests and get the itens in one day?
guild missions should have higher duration or should be able to active more often.
So if I’m not online when my guild use the guild quest I’ll never have the itens? at least fractals and daily quest could be done at anytime. Need another way to get ascended accessory, maybe fractal could do it too or any other thing that I can done any time I want. Create one guild and lvl up it just to do it the time I want isnt a viable option.

I have no experience playing a thief, want a build that “perma stealth” , culling abusing with high dps. I’ve already played shout/AH guardian, rifle warrior and mesmer gs/staff, but none of them with melee focus. I was thinking in use D/D + shortbow. for dagger #5 and easy ways to escape with shortbow and dagger #2. Need help with traits and utilities/elite.
I think smite should be a light symbol (+1 combo field), but with no extra effects. It does more damage than other symbols and has only 6s cooldown, would be almost 100% active with the +symbol duration trait.
Be able to move when using empower and #5 would be good.
I think 50s would be good, so when traited goes to 40s. If it was 45s would go to 36s cd when traited, and thats to short cd for an aoe aegis.
I use it on my guardian 2 superior runes of monk 2 superior runes of water 2 major runes of sactuary= 40% boon duration. Yes they stack.
Maybe and elite Shout that removes all condition and gives all boons for 5s for you and your party. 180s cd.
Guardians should be able to use the utilities while using tome of wrath and tome of courage.
The dodge heal is not working when the tomes are activated too. I think AH is not working with tome’s buffs too.
I’m currently using sigil of purity in my guardian staff, but whith wintersday came a new sigil, sigil of generosity [60% chance to transfer a condition to your foe on critical hit. (Cooldown: 10 Seconds)].
Does sigil of generosity remove 1 condition from me and send to the enemy or just copy 1 condition ( without remove from me) and use in the enemy?

I’m using 2runes of sanctuary, 2 runes of water and 2 runes of the monk for 40% boons duration. I play this char like a full support/defensive in dungeons and wvw. Not interested in spvp.
Want to know what are the best sigils for support/defensive mace+shield. I was thinking in use 1sigil of water, or sigil of blood or sigil of purity.
They should create an achievement like 1hour using treb, or X damage using treb, or something like that
