Came back to the game last week. Got bored of player zerk tempest. I’m looking for a condi build for high lvl fractals. I have all classes so I’m open to any suggestion. Is burnzerk still decent? How does it compare to condi engi? Any updated list condi builds dps in a group around?
Reasons to do the precursor collection instead of buy from the tp IF the collection costs the same or less:
-You get achievements completing the collection
-You get 1 skin for each part of the collection you complete
-Some people have problems saving large amounts of gold, because they spend it before they reach the total ammount. Dividing it in parcels help them to achieve their goals in game.
Anyway it is a good idea that they are adding a new feature to the game that is no 100% rng based.
I like the dmg nerf to icebow, but it could get a utility buff. They could start making all conjure weapons instacast.
Nothing is stopping them right now.
This week we saw a ranger in ebg using no clip thorugh walls and speed hack his account name even had “FTP” on the name……
But one thing that could help reduce the number of hacks is to have machine bans. I think battlefield had a system that uses IP or Mac address to block accounts from a computer that was already used for cheating. There is work around and it does not stop all hacks but it makes harder and reduces the number of cheaters.

Right now it is basically obligatory to have GWEN classes. No problem at rangers becoming obligatory for meta too.

I think many of us who frequent WvW would have come across duels happening around the map.
Many duelers will say no interrupting because it is not an honorable thing to do.
But…they are enemies!
what are the situations when you will consider interrupting a duel?
Usually I will interrupt if:
1) they are dueling alone and the enemy is low life then I will help to burst and kill the enemy.
Usually I won’t interrupt if:
1) there are other enemies watching who might attack me if I interrupt.
-Always interrupt if you see that you can win. Only case you should not interrupt is if the enemy has superior number than yours or if it is a friend/guild player.
-Even if the enemy has more numbers defending the players dueling you can always go to the closest tower/keep and build a treb to cow shot them.
-Also, if you are a thief you can wait for the enemy to lose and stealth stomp him. Normally that works even if there are multiple enemies around.
I like the idea of getting 1 armor set per rank category. 1for gold, 1 for silver, etc…

It will probably be similar to current dungeons, but with 10 players. 10 zerk specs at melee range and the boss dies in less than 10s. Gw2 is known for making easy content to target the most casual player base.

You don’t need 20. Most servers get matched up against the same 2-3 servers every week.
Basically anet is willing to kill pve and wvw in favor of the failed wannabe sport game mode.
-WvW will be filled with spies. Everyone will have 1 account in each server just to spy. Some people already do this now, but they are very few. After the change everyone will have spy accounts.
-The only game mode that benefits from it is spvp.
I don’t thing YB will be able to stay in T1 when BG, TC and BG are match fixing to keep T1 locked with the same matchup. If YB wants to establish in T1 they will need to infiltrate guilds on the other 2 servers to turn the 2v1 into other server.
I can say this is garbage. I am on TC and we would not do that with JQ or BG any more. BG and JQ fixing matches – you bet. The reason I say this was this last Thursday night, on TCBL, there were 2 – 40 man blobs (one BG and one JQ). JQ would open the walls of a keep de-siege and back off when BG would rush right in and try to cap. The 2 zergs were side by side fighting against TC and would never fight each other.
Well, don’t try that garbage the BG and JQ do, dorito watch.
YB just needs to learn to fight with the big boys.
Win ppt is not about skill or strategy. It is mainly defined by numbers and coverage and organizing 2v1 with the other server. If YB wants to stay in T1 they will have to make the matchfixing work for them or else they will drop. Of course it does not involve all bg-tc-jq guilds all the time, but it sure happens. It is not hard to get a bunch of commanders from the 3 servers on the same TS and organize what each one is gonna do to manipulate ranting and thus reduce the risk of any of the 3 dropping.

Capture the flag is fun on FPS because you can kill the enemy with 1 good shot and make him drop the flag. Those games also tend to let you kill from very far away (snipers). In an mmorpg like gw2 people can spec for bunkers and enemy can’t do much dgm from range (higher than 1200).
They can’t even ban all hacks or exploiters. Imagine banning for macros, something that is incredible hard for a player to detect and to get proof to make a report…. Unless they said that ingame chat, how would you detect it? Even if they say, one can claim that they were lying…..
If cleansing conditions gets a priority for certain conditions I also also want to be able to configure aegis to only block certain atacks.
Burn needs a nerf. Skills like purging flames and ring of fire need a rework or a nerf.
Nerf easy content? Great lest’s start by reducing AC reward to 50s per path then.
So you don’t want support. What would you suggest? More flat dmg? Ele is already dripping raw dmg.
I partially agree with OP.
Only case where “l2p” is a real answer is if people are dueling with same build or playing a game that is completely balanced like CS;GO, BF, etc…
On buildwars2 it has no significance. Most 1v1 fights are determined by the build and not skill. Most classes have 1 or 2 combos and everyone knows them. It is not like an FPS where it is actually hard to land your hits. If you are not using the same build as the enemy the chances are you won because of your build is better than the enemy build or got luckier on the dozens of RNG procs that this game has (sigil of air, fire, etc…).
Looking on the forums I’ve seen people that run even the easiest builds like spirit ranger, turret engi, shatter mesmer, etc telling other to l2p. It is like OP said, people who get carried by the easy builds try hard to keep them every time more broken. Luckly anet is doing a good job at noticing the false feedback. It takes them a while but they end up nerfing them. Like the most recent shatter mesmer nerf.
I like the idea to make protection absorb 33% of incoming condition dmg.
The suggestion to let condis crit is even better. They could reduce condi base dmg and scaling but let them crit. That way a full condi build will need more than just 1 stat to be 100% offensive.
Most heavy condi source skills are single target.
Good zergs have lots of AoE condi clear (shouts, warhorn, purging flames,etc..)
This creates a situation where in duels or very small scale condis are super strong, but in big groups they are useless.
If you are fighting 1v1 against a good P/D thief or PU mesmer you won’t be able to clear the condis unless you run a super heavy condi clear build like a celestial ele. Even in those cases you probably will just be able to stale the fight. One good point is that although they are strong dueling they have slow movement, are bad in large scales and if you just decide to turn around and walk away they can’t kill you because they lack burst dmg.
Well 100 less power and 100 less condi is a big nerf for dmg. Also the nerf to hp has higher impact in people running full zerker. A thief will drop from 13.5k to 11.5k, maybe that will make some swap a couple pieces of gear into more defensive ones, thus reducing the dmg…
Vitality would be better if it gave less HP and had a secondary effect such as extra endurance regen or boon duration.

Everytime anet creates an op build the ones getting carried by it always come to the forums to say L2P. and don’t present any information to back up their arguments. Chronomancer clearly needs a nerf before they release. Compared with the other specializations it is by far the strongest. Mesmer right now is already one of the god mode classes, even without specializations.
Healing power would synergize better with other stats if this game had critical healing like other games do.

And people are still QQing because they lost 1 bounce that they got as a free trait made into baseline? Top that with a class that has so many imunes/evade/stealth/teleports that can run zerker and still has insane survivability. The QQ is nonsense. Mesmer community trying hard to keep their class as faceroll god mode.
All the recent nerfs were good steps in the right direction. Further nerfs are still needed. Anet should go ahead and remove the unblockable effect.
Mesmer got more traits made into baseline than any other class. Most of those traits were not needed to be baseline and the result is a broken class after patch.
Some players use the false claim that traits like ilusionary persona were needed to be made baseline for class sinergy. If anet followed the same logic for other classes:
Ele should get elemental attunement and evasive arcana as baseline
War should get cleansing Ire, dogged march and fast hands as baseline
Guardian should get indomitable courage, absolute resolution and inspired virtue.
Rangers should get lead the wind
Thieves should get thrill of the crime and sleight of hand
etc..
Considering that fractal skins are ugly I would say 5-10 relics.

How about say pre patch, if everyone ran 0/0/0/0/0 on every class, Mesmer would be the worst by far
Worst by far??? You gotta be joking.
Ele without evasive arcana, cantrip traits and elemental attunement is squishy as hell.
Warrior without cleansing ire, fast hands will get destroyed by condis and the combat fluidity disappears.
Medi guard without medi traits has no sustain and does low dmg.
Mesmer with no traits is still a ranged high dmg class. With lots of defensive sources via teleports and stealth.
Difficulty of landing the skill vs Reward
Higher dmg does not mean you will land the skill. Lava font and meteor shower have more dmg than a dagger but how easy is for a player to avoid them?
When fighting a player, one can see the lava font and meteor and just step out to take 0 dmg. Difficulty vs reward. With a dagger it is easier to land cleaving abilities, making it harder for the enemy to avoid since they are not static. You can move the source of the dmg with dd, with staff you just drop on the ground and hope that the enemy stay inside.

Terrible suggestions that would simply break all ele builds. Ele is pretty balanced. With stronghold as a new pvp mode anet can just let the old conquest mode die out. Time to start thinking in balance with the stronghold perspective.
The burning scale is fine. They just need to either nerf the base dmg.
Main NA guilds are basically: OK, Gods, PDF, EDGE, GOTL
I like the OP’s idea about adding “stacks” of stealth that you lose been hit. One of the best suggestions posted on this forums recently.
So there was exactly one area in the game, where berserker gear was preferred…that received any type of recurring updates. Every other game mode preferred gear with more survival stats. Its looking like condi will be the new PvE meta now if the fractal update is any trend on what to expect in PvE and the still vague “challenging group content”. Where exactly does berserker gear fit into the game now? It seems like ANET just wasted a lot of resources to shift the same problem around in game…and possibly create a new issue. Previously, condi was trash in PvE due to ramp up time on damage and the efficiency of direct damage. Now condi will be king due to its reliance on one damage stat…leaving room for two defensive stats and toughness/hp scaling …that condi does best against. Good job?…now you have a different disenfranchised gear set…only this time…there is no other game mode that prefers this disenfranchised gear set.
Berzerker useful in only 1 area?
There are classes that use zerker for roaming meta
There are classes that use zerker for zerging meta, like necros.
There spvp classes that use zerker for spvp meta, like thieves and mesmers.
Most pve meta builds are zerker.
Berzerker is probably one of the 2 or 3 most used stats in the game. Anet is doing a good move making condis and other specs more viable.
And now sigil of air and fire got nerfed. Great to see Anet shaving down the op dmg from the zerker shater build. Another step in the right direction.
A test with 30 samples gave coefficients of 0.635 (fire) and 0.823 (air). Previous coefficients were 0.85 and 1.1, so these are very close to a 25% damage reduction. I suspect the true values are probably 0.6375 and 0.825 for the exact 25% reduction.
Is the base dmg still the same?
Can someone confirm this info? If they really ninja nerfed sigil of air this is an awesome change.
Warrior gets the extra passive healing from addrenaline and has more armor than ranger.
I think it should be reworked. Instead of immune it could give something like protection and a vampiric aura.
OP’s suggestion is terrible and that would break all the other ele builds.
What is more surprising is that someone actually watched a 2h stream and payed enough attention to see that comment.
I have no idea what is the best, but I like OBS. It is free and open source.
