They are reworking the way condis work for HoT.
Poor blind access? Plague form, well of darkness, etc..
Poor vuln acess? The new specialization will have plenty, also well of suffering.

Not every class needs to be the same. We have plenty of classes that bring blast, fire fields and reflect. If it does not fit your playstyle then reroll. Don’t expect them to make changes based on a very specific and niche build like dungeon zerker speed runners. Leave your bubble.

What about those of us that want to play a class because its fun but also like to contribute and be atleast semi useful? This is actually probably the mindset of most players. Theres a minority that only care for efficiency. And theres a minority of people that only care about fun and dont give a crap how bad their builds are. This is about fixing the issue for the middle group. Where people value varying degrees of both sides.

And who said necro is useless? They might not be optimal for speed claering dungeons but is far from been useless. Not optimal =/= useless. They have vulnerability, chils, blinds, aoe condi clear, boon removal, etc. Sure they are not a guardian or ele but they are not useless unless. Condis will also be better on HoT so necro will become a bit better on groups.

Well, unless that means that they almost completely neglect PvE, It’s hardly the full story.
Fun is indeed subjective, but it would seem that the fact that the profession is sub-par to this extent would mean a huge reduction in enjoyment for the general PvE player, no?

Necros are very important in wvw.
Necros are viable in spvp. People have own anets tournaments using 1 necro on the team comp.
Necros can play any pve content in the game.

Yes they might not be optimal for speed runs but that is not mandatory for the game. If you just want fun you wouldn’t mind taking a few seconds longer to complete a dungeon.

Of course fast hands is related with the class mechanic. Warriors are the only class whose class mechanic changes completely based on the weapon they are using. For that reason the ability to swap weapons faster and therefore having faster access to our class mechanic is needed. Not only IP is stronger than fast hands but it is also a grandmaster trait. IP is just a minor.

Guardians, rangers, necros, mesmers, thieves, engis and eles have the same F1-4 skills using any weapon. The warrior needs the fast weapon swap to make full use of his class mechanic. Not to mention that we have only F1 while some classes have up to 4. Mesmer will have 5 after the expansion (getting extra F5).

What really bothers me about you crybabies is that you are not complaining about a skill, or a trait, or an armor stat (e.g. the celestial complaining), you dumwits are complaining about sigils that every single profession and every single build could use. I mean, I’d understand if fire/air was exclusive to thieves and mesmers and rangers for example but sheesh …… you guys make zero sense.

So complaining about an armor stat that any class can use is ok but complaing about a sigil is not. Double standards.

“High RNG damage” lol, you guys probably forgot that engineers exist and have a passive trait called Incendiery Powder and that does more dmg than air/fire combined together.

Same with guard’s burn on block and terror necro that fears you and deals damage whenever you CC them.

If you gonna cry about air/fire then you will also have to cry about many other things.

What suggesting? Don’t fix one problem because there are other problems? That doesn’t make sense. Following that logic we would never change anything.

Btw, you know that they are making IP a grandmaster trait and moving it to firearms traitline right?

I am not sure if fast hands and warriors sprint are the traits that should be made baseline, but compared with other classes we got nothing. Mesmer for example got 2 adept, 1 minor, 2 master and even 1 grandmaster as base line. Warrior community should stay united and do like mesmers, QQ so much for buffs that they end up getting them.

Traits that are now baseline:

Blasting Staff: Area attacks with staff are larger.

Thief:
+1 Venom additional charges

Guardian:
Consecrated Ground (Consecration skills use ground targeting).
Elite duration increase
Improved Spirit weapon duration

Mesmer:

Reduced glamour recharge rate

Manipulation range.
Illusionary Persona: Shattering illusions creates the shatter effect on you as well.
Illusionary Elasticity: Bouncing attacks have one additional bounce.

What would you achieve by doing that? The ones that use custom arenas to do fast dailies would probably just move away from spvp and complete their dailies in pve if you remove achievements from custom arenas.

Using custom arenas to complete achievements is basicaly the same concept as take a portal to the end of a jumping puzzle. You didn’t put much effort on it, but you get the achievements. Would you also like to remove portal from JP areas?

IMO if someone is paying for that custom room, then they can do whatever they want there. It is not like AP are a high valuable currency anyway. They are helping the economy by sinking 200g (buying room) + 1g a day.

Lol at the bad players QQing about mantain the skill as a run away button that is useless to fight any decent player. Any good warrior would like to see GS reworked into a decent fighting weapon. The way it is now it is just impossible to play against spvp meta builds using a GS because it is useless in anything other than run away or hit stationary targets.

Put the average wvw GS marathonists in spvp and see how it melts against a cele engi, medi guard, cele ele, etc…

Also nice try multiplying RTL by 5 to make it look better. ROLF, most of the time it hits 0-1 target. Its value is the mobility not the dmg. Blindly multiplying everything by the maximum number of targets says that backstab is weaker than any autoatck in the game because it hits 1 target…. Need to see the skill usage context

We are talking about the mobility not dmg. If you want to compared dmg we should also say rush hits about 2times RTL dmg.

Anyway, GS is one of the worst weapons for spvp warrior. 3 out of 5 skills are weak/easy to avoid. For pve and wvw rush is just a run away skill. If the skill was completely changed into a CC or immob GS would be much better. It would reduce the mobility, but would bring something that can actually be used to fight. Maybe a mini-Bulls Charge or add the new taunt effect. I see that as a buff.

Biggest problem with rampage is that it stops healing signet for 20s. Yes you take less direct dmg and condis but the hp you lose is not been healed back. If they enable the signet to work with rampage it would be a great skill.

It is hard to ban hackers in gw2 and most mmos because they don’t have any anti-hack system. FPS games like battlefield 4 have 2 anti-cheater system and people still find ways to bypass them.

The only way people get banned here is if they start abusing speed+fly hack and either get seen by a GM or recorded on video by several players… There are stuff like ESP hacks that let you see players through walls/objects/stealth, radars, that will never get detected without a good anti-cheat system.

The good thing is that with the exception of fly+speed, all the other hacks that are harder to detect are not a big deal on gw2. Unlike fps where a single cheater can kill an entire 64men team.

Blast lightning field: only works for staff, and you would need to drop eruption and stay there waiting around 2s for it to blast your field. Lightning field is also 40s cd… Not really viable to do if you want swiftness to run away or chase someone.

Signet of air: 25% is not really good. you will still get caught by someone with swiftness.

Lightning hammer: for real? Who brings a lighting hammer to wvw or spvp? Anet also said they are nerfing conjure hammer and bow soon.

gliph of elemental harmony: waste a heal to get 10s swiftness does not sound very good….

The problem is that from the 4 boons 3 are kind of weak. 1 stack of might is meh, eles already get good regen, swiftness alone is meh. The only thing left is protection. Now on evasive arcana, dodge on water will heal much more than the regen and you can use earth to blast a water field if playing staff for even more heal. Evasive arcana also comes with blind, cripple, bleeding and burning.

What would you define as skillful playstyle?

More buttons/actions per minute is equal skill? Most people on the forums complain about eles and engis the classes that press more buttons than any other.

Zerker/squish is skillfull? People say sword+dg zerker thief was cheese and easy mode…

This is an mmorpg. Most skills are go straith to the target, you don’t have to aim shots. The ones that don’t go to the target are either cleave or aoe, on a conquest gamemode with such small nodes they are also not hard to aim. If you want a skill based game go play CS:GO, other fps or sport games. There everyone has the same class and it is 100% based on your aiming skill. If the players are not using the same 100% exactly character as the enemy one can always blame the game balance. Because mmo class balance is subjective. What may seem fair for you might look op for others.

Now that eles are getting a nerf and elemental attunement will be a grandmaster, most eles will take evasive arcana and lose the extra swiftness that we had from elemental attunement as a master trait.

I suggest that updraft and windborn speed get kitten buff to its base swiftness going from 10s to 15s.

Necro’s warhonr: 50% uptime swifness
Mesmer’s focus: 48% uptime
War’s warhorn: 66% uptime swiftness
Ranger’s warhorn: 50% uptime swiftness
Engi speed kit: 100% uptime
Guardian’s staff: almost perma swiftness if you stand on the symbol

ele dagger: 25% uptime
ele staff 33% uptime

A light armor user with such a low hp needs more mobility.

Sigil of air and fire are cancer to spvp and wvw. They should nerf them and buff stuff like sigil of force. Sigil of force adds dps but the dmg comes from landing your normal skills, not insta cast RNG like air/fire.

Medi guard is ok now. After the trait system changes I think it will become OP. My suggestion is nerf the base healing on meditation’s trait and make them scale better with healing power. It is stupid the ammount of hp regen a zerker medi guard can get investing nothing in healing power.

Most changes are great. The only problem is losing elemental attunemt. Making elemental attunement grandmaster in the same line as evasive arcana is the same as deleting the trait. Most players wont use it anymore. They should make that trait baseline instead of making it unusable.

People QQing about immob venon?

If you are an ele, mesmer or thief you can blink away from the well.
If you are a warrior you can run up to -97% immob duration or trait for movement skills remove immob.
Engis can use one condi clear and elixir S. There is also a trait to cut condis duration by 50% hoelbrak -40% food…

You can also don’t get caught by a well.

Even if you have 4 thieves with traited venon, the necro will get only 12 charges. If there are 5 players inside the well it will apply only 2/3 immobs per target after he runs out of charges.

Venoms are weak in spvp. One of the only ways to nerf them in wvw without affecting spvp is to just add a cap on the amount of charges you can get from each kind of vennom. Cap it at 8 because realistically you won’t have more than 2 thieves using venom share in the same team in spvp ever.

Creating attacks which make your skills useles is dumb in the very core of the idea.

That is basically what long lasting reflect skills do to some bosses. They make their skills completely useless.

It doesn’t make the boss skills useless. Your reflect skill is causing the bosses skill to damage the boss. Your using a skill to turn the bosses damage onto himself. If I were to not use the reflect skill, less damage would be done. Your reflect skill is a source of damage as well as cover from the attack. Whether or not I take the reflect with me changes things.

When they make projectiles unreflectable, that is truly making a skill useless. If you put up a reflect, the skill goes right through it. As if it isn’t even there. The outcome is the same as if I didn’t take the skill with me at all.

I don’t think you understood my point. A skill that makes the entire party imune to projectiles for very long is a bad mechanic to pve. In spvp players are smart enough to stop using projectiles, but bosses will just keep the dumb rotation killing themselves and doing no dmg. A single wall of reflection can give 12s of reflecting on a very low cooldown (32s). In 12s you can kill most pve bosses or trash mobs before the wall drops. This makes all bosses the projectiles useless against players, because they just drop 1 wall and avoid everything. Some bosses don’t do any signifcant dmg other than via projectiles. AC and TA spiders for example, if we could reflect those hits the boss would just be a huge HP sponge, that does minimun dmg even if you are using zerker.

What would you say if there was a skill that reflect melee atacks for 12s?

Before the trait system revamp I think players will focus the rage on longbow rangers again, now that turret engi is nerfed to the ground.

After the changes probably mesmer and thief. Those trait changes look op. Engi is getting IP nerf so it will be away from the hate list for a while.

Sometimes their zerg is big enough to flip keeps even if you try hard to defend (unless you bring a lot of 80s on ts). Keep in mind that although most of their upscaled pugs are bad, EoTM commanders most of the time are players that command in normal wvw and know how to play. The do the eotm rotation a lot, so they know most/all siege spots and places that enemy can try to fear wall.

I have been in overflows controlled by EoTM guild with Anet’s devs playing low lvl characters and following the EoTM zerg because “it was fast to lvl”.

As far as following an specific commander going to his overflow just to troll and verbal abuse on map/team chat, people have been banned for that. In the other hand I’ve never seen an EoTM commander banned for synchronizing ktrain rotation.

If anet really wanted to stop that the easiest thing to do would be a nerf to exp and karma from flipping stuff in EoTM. Or make the reward scale based on the time the enemy was holding it.

I think the best solution would be reworking reflect skills, but making bosses projectiles unblockable is a good workaround.

In spvp and wvw reflect skills that last lond and cover a huge are are not a problem because players are smart enough to stop using projectiles on the reflects. The same cannot be said about dungeon bosses.

The nerf to turrets is a solid proof that huge comunity QQ gives results on anet’s class balance. Turrets were not very used in wvw, were not very used in pve (only to blast fields) and an underpowered build in spvp. Now after the nerf the useless and underpowered skills just became even weaker.

While people were qqing about weak turrets, the realy op skills like slick shoes and tool kit were flying under the radar.

So they are balancing the gear to cover the stats that will be lost. But what about those traitlines that give 30% extra condi duration and 30% extra boon duration? There is no armor right now that can give those stats. Will they be just removed from the game?

Personaly, I think that that would be great. Would make it easier to balance the game for spvp and tone down some condi builds and the boon spam in wvw.
