Down state is fine the problem is dead mode. Enemy stay too much time there watching everything.
Dead shouldnt be able to see enemy or enemy’s siege after 30s-1min.

How are you nerfing doom? Are you suggesting nerf the condition poison in all the game? Looks like a terrible idea. The celestial meta is great and 1 player can do anything. Much better than try to force people into bunkers no dmg or 100% zerkers. Celestial brings a much better balance to the game.

Summarizing the video: op suggests celestial to be nerfed to the ground and become useless to force people run zerker mesmer/thief and bunker guardian.

why do all of these guilds and personalities we never see otherwise come pouring out and clogging the system on reset? I don’t get it.

Because if your server performs poorly on reset night you loose the players that only show up in wvw when their server is wining.

Guildwars had these new story instances where guildwars2 was introduced (sortof)
iow, you were able to play the npc’s.

as i saw the possibility to swap to thief skills last LS i was wondering if it would be possible to play the bad guy in future Living Stories.

I would love to play a Elder dragon minion and raid a town of Quaggan.
Or be a grasping vine and strangle our protagonists.
Maybe play Caith and see her adventures?
etc etc..

So you like raiding quagans? Closest thing you can find in game is gank the wvw quaggan parade.

i’m amazed by the amount of people who try to defend obvious exploits as skill. especially since both examples can be easily used by macros.
whether it doubles your dps or “just” adds 30% doesn’t matter, it’s not working as intended and needs fixing. all the kiddies confusing it with “skill” or “technique” simply are not as good in this game as they imagine themself and need to practice more.

Its like the necro life force stacking pre game. It is stupid and should be removed. It was removed but necro should of been buffed to start with 39% life force to compensate.

This change is obvious. It is an exploit. It doesn’t increase skill cap anymore than it is just a knowledge thing. It would be similar (not exactly the same) as being able to get outside the map to survive or something. It would allow knowledgeable people to exploit a game issue and benefit from their “skill”. But it is not good for the game because it is an ugly feature. It is a tedious thing to do (like necro life force stacking was tedious) and is therefore just bad game design.

Luckily the non troll players are showing up to support the idea. Is like firing a gun and keep the bullet doest make sense. What kind of player defend the landing a skill that you didnt even cast? Only 2 kind: the ones been taking advantage of the cheap trick to bypass game mechanics and the ones that are trolling on the foruns.

For those who don’t know there is a stow weapon trick that makes celestial ele PROC SIGNET OF RESTORATION TWICE ON AUTOATCK. The trick consists in stow your weapon canceling the autoatk, BUT the signet will proc even canceling. So in the end using lightning whip (air 1) with that they are exploiting the healing signet gaining the benefits of a skill they didnt even cast. If that is fixed will be a major NERF/FIX to d/d ele. There is also other classes using the same trick like mesmer. I made a topic about this issue on this pvp forum, feel free to go there support the idea.

Mesmer auto will need a buff then. I dont think you guys notice how awful the mesmer GS autoattack actually is in terms of DPS. Also XDudisX stop lying, you have nowhere near 90% winrate.

Dudis if you really wanna play that way, your old winrate in the old system was low 50%ile range in both TeamQ and SoloQ, your new winrate is because you likely have terrible MMR and were facing terribads, whereas when I soloQ into ranked, I end up facing a premade thats actually good. If you seriously think you’re better than me, we can settle this in any number of ways, I will stomp you in 1v1, 5v5, basically any sort of PvP. Furthermore, you’re the person that thinks Mesmer is OP, which is literally one of the most ridiculous things Ive seen on this forum. “Get Good Son”

In the old queue I didnt had a team for team queues, and I played any of my classes in solo queue. Now I made a team with friends and am at currently about 90% win rate. You talk a lot and have your mediocre 60% win.

But back to the topic, canceling atacks to get extra dmg and healing is something that should be fixed. If you think just click more buttons means skill then a grenade engi must the most skillful class in this game. It is the same kind of non intended feature that passed unnoticed by anet like a lot of game breaking stuff that had been fixed in the past.

It takes a lot more skill to play dagger/dagger in WvW than it currently does in pvp. People have more balanced stats and they aren’t forced to fight on a tiny point. If you are good you will have a lot of fun with it, just remember to slot fgs for when you need to run from a zerg or chase someone down.

I completely disagree with that statement. In wvw normally is 10 times easier to fight a player because the skill lvl of the average wvw pug is terrible compared with the average player you fight in ranked queue.

WvW also makes your celestial build stronger because you can get the extra 250 power from bloodlust + 100power/condi from stacks +250 vit +-40% condi duration. Also d/d ele is one of the most mobile classes if you slot fgs and lightning flash, that makes you outrun almost everyone.

Is like saying a soccer player pretending injuries to try to convince the referee is making a skillful move and and everyone should try the same. This is like using the engineer trick to jump inside Red keep in ebg bypassing the gates and walls (from outer to inside inner with super speed) is also skillful.

They fixed fgs because of pvp? Interesting. Yeah denying a class it’s class mechanic at the beginning of every match was a great idea.

They ignored fgs in pve for ages, then 1 guy killed the lord in like 3s with that in a tourney they were livestreaming and then suddenly on the next update -70% dmg to fgs #4.

Lol at players who can’t do it so they cry…. remember people this is the guy who still thinks mesmers are OP.

The increased damage from mesmer is miniscule. The increased healing on ele is miniscule.

The problem isn’t the stow weapon. The problem is dumb kitten players who think these techniques are why the lose to better players….

Mesmer should be more like thief, where if you go ranged you do almost no dmg. Mesmer may be balanced in a node fight, but put open field and we see that it is no risk and high reward. Has short cds, low or insta cast time, ranged skills, clones, imunes, etc.

I’m a hardcore pvp player, i used to play a lot of WoW because i loved the pvp but 2 years ago i bought Guildwars and never got back to WoW because of the monthly fee and Guildwars is a much better looking game.

The pvp however feels empty, there’s only 5v5 or WvW. WvW isnt really pvp in my opinion, it’s a huge battlefield where individual skill is less important.

What i would really like is 10v10 or 15v15. (10v10 currently only exists as custom maps with ridicilous rules for rank farming).
Also the only game mode in pvp currently is conquest/domination, with the exception of the very small team deathmatch map all of which are 5v5.
capture the flag? Underwater pvp battles? Free for all? why arent there any other gamemodes??

Tthis game looks absolutely beautiful, it has awesome pvp rewards and a dedicated lobby for pvp, but it lacks variaty

So is pvp dead? Is that why since 2 years there have not been any new gamemodes for pvp?

I am not a native English speaker so please forgive me for any mistakes.

A proof of that is if you make team with 5 on ts you can easily get in top 1k. In a serious pvp game top 1k would be hard to get. This happens because there is very few players on spvp ranked queue.

Everyone knows that these 2 classes cancel animation and start again to do much more dmg than intended. In d/d it also makes the signet procs more and heal more. On mesmer it makes the already broken dmg become more broken.

Why a fix:

1) For ele it would be a nerf/fix to both dmg and survivability of the d/d celestial spec.

2) For mesmer would fix the constant broken dmg.

Imagine that your ranger, warrior, guard or any other class could hit twice as much with autoatack. This is what happens with mesmer and ele canceling animation. In almost all the other classes it is not viable because the auto is in a 2-3 hit chain or not channeled skill.

How to fix:

1) Turn them into 2-3 hit chains or make it a infinite loop of 1 skill but requiring you to cast until the end.

2)Just make cancel skill = no dmg. Like all the other skills

Celestial is much superior in 1v1. This is proven by spvp meta builds. Almost all good engi players are all running celestial. In wvw for a 1v1 or small scale fight perspective celestial is the best option. It is actually even better than in spvp because you can count with the bloodlust+ guard stacks that you wouldnt have in spvp. Also the average wvw player is weaker than the average spvp player.

The problem with celestial is that in big scale fights, your condis are almost useless because a good group will remove every condi very fast. The healing also wont help in big scale.

WvW gathering mastery: 5 lvls, increases the chance to get rare itens from nodes
WvW magic find mastery 10 lvls, 1% per lvl. (only applies to wvw)
WvW finisher: only 1 lvl costing 1k points
WvW upgrade mastery: upgrading camps/tower/keeps becomes cheaper

I’m new to WvW and GW2 so I didn’t put much thought into my server world. Now I’d like to play WvW but my home population seems very low and as such WvW is very boring. We seem to lose 80% of our zerg fights due to low numbers. Sometimes our biggest force is wiped out by a simple roaming squad.

I’m not the best player in the world so die very quickly if I break off from the group, I prefer zergs at the moment.

I know it’s cheap and cheesy, but I feel like transferring to the most dominant world and rolling the other 2 factions. Seems like you’d get more experience and world bonuses that way.

Any reason, besides cost, to not just transfer to the best server?

*Why not to transfer:

1) wvw gives almost 0 rewards compared with pve. Be in the best or worst server wont change much.

2)If you want karma train you can go to EoTM. It is actually easier to karma train in bad servers than in T1 because you can cap undefended stuff most of the time

3) The higher tier you go the bigger the blobs become.

4) You will waste gold.

5) If you want legit balanced (not 100% balance but better than wvw) fights go spvp.

*Reasons to transfer to the best server:

1) Once in a while you get more tickets in the tournament.

Celestial is great and make the game more focused in long team fights. Zerker just makes people force a 2v1 and burst the enemy too fast. The game is going in the right direction with celestial and making it be more about long fights and less just walking around killing people in a few seconds. The real problem with this game is builds like shatter mesmer.

The ONLY people complaining about this is the SoloQ players and again, the minority.

I highly doubt SoloQ’ers are the minority here. The general reasoning for pushing the queues together in the first place was because there’s like, 3 people who are interested in competing as a team in this game.

I’m thinking you super-hardcore-pro team players are the minority on this one. I also find it rather ironic, that those sitting here trying to go on about their “lives” and “jobs” are trying their hand at a higher level of play ( Teams ) which requires by default much more skill, dedication, communication, and more importantly time, to be even remotely competitive.

Whereas in SoloQ, you press a button and go.

I am pretty sure there were more pleople in solo queue than team queue. If there are so many “serious” players around then how is it possible that playing just a few games put you in top 1k? I bet there is less than 200 players with fixed teams around.

like first = X points
second = Y points
100th= Z points

Make a summation of the points for all the members and put a guild leaderboard.

Man, people in wvw are not even close to the avarage spvp player. Also if you can wait the time when both servers start fighting and jump in the mid will stop the fights anyway. Even with 1 or 2 players would be enough to inbalance the fights and make everyone reset all the time. If you die you can respawn and come back in less than 1 minute

Would it be against the game rules to create a guild to gank kill people in Obisidian Sanctum? Like that map is part of wvw and as a pvp map there is nothing saying you cant kill an enemy even if they are in a gvg. My friend was thinking in create a guild full of troll specs like perma stealth thieves that no matter how many you bring we would be able to interrupt fights, get kills and troll around the fights.

Is there already any guild like this in the game?

A celestial ele using runes of hoelbrak is balanced in my point of view. I dont think the class need any trait/utility/healing skill nerf. The only thing slightly op are the runes of strengh. When you compare it with hoelbrak it has way more might duration. Strengh might % should be on par with hoelbrak.

I have one idea. Make those players pay 100 gold for getting the map completion for 1 map (would be 400 for all maps). This would be a gold sink for the game.

I like to kill pve players in wvw, but I also dont like them rallybotting in my team. Would solve 2 problems with 1 change. Elevate the player skill in wvw and remove gold from the economy.

Correlation does not mean causation. And who are you to say what classes are consider op and what classes “almost nobody” consider op? It is not hard to find lots of players who will tell you that medi guard, fearmancer or a bow ranger is op and easy to play.

I could make a correlation saying that the OP classes are mesmer and thief and also say they are the ones that normally run zerker. By your logic zerker would be the cause of the problem.

Ascended is easy and cheap to do. Some people say it is not whorth it because it is only 5-10% stats but lots of players spend much more in useless skins that add 0% to your stats. When I used to run dungeons I could get about 200 silk scraps per day just salvaging blue/greens that you drop. With the gold you can buy the rest of the linen, cloth,etc. 30min of Ac = 5g

The problem is if you play wvw or spvp only the chances are that you wont generate as much gold as pve. But for spvp your stats doesnt matter so this might no be a problem. If you run normal wvw it may be hard for you to make ascended.

For the legendary is another story. If you dont manipulate TP, grind dungeons, buy with RL money or drop one via MF you wont make a legendary. They are expensive, but they are also just a skin, and in most cases not even look good. A skin wont affect your gameplay. The only real advantage I think I have with legendaries is the projectile effect. For example: my ele using a Bifrost, all my #1 skills have the same particle effect. This might confuse bad/new players.

Anet has already done some stuff to help players that want to be a “healer” or people that just dont like the direct dmg meta:

*added sigil of benevolence (12.5% outgoing healing)
*added 10 % outgoing healing in runes of the monk
*created bosses that you cant be crit (like teq)
*made some bosses harder to stack hotw troll, ac spider (this was not very effective change, but they tried at least making stuff harder)
*nerfed FGS and Norn elite
*reduced the max dmg by 10% when changing crit dmg to ferocity
*new traits like elementalists aquatic benevolence (
25% outgoing healing)
*added new stats (like nomad and other condi ones)

I think the game is slowly, very super slowly making some steps in the direction of making other builds less terrible, BUT the great majority of the content is so easy you can still run full zerker.

Celestial is ok. It is better for the game to see everyone been average in all stats than super high dps or super bunker imortal classes. If every class become viable with celestial it will be easier to balance stuff around it. Elementalist is also ok and balance. It has low hp and light armor, that justify the class having good healing. The only thing that is a bit overpowered in the celestial builds is rune of strength. They should reduce strength might duration to be the same as hoelbrak.

I’ve been playing mainly as a thief for awhile now… just long enough to see that there is pretty much only one “correct” build for any given class, and long enough to be convinced (probably wrongly) that this game has zero balance. I can solo a camp, and once even solo’d a small tower. However, put me up against even 1 other player and I’m toast. Doesn’t matter what player. Give a kid a keyboard, have him spam 1 and I’ll be dead. I dodge, and use my skills, have exotic armor, the works… yet find I’m constantly be one shot ko’d by pretty much every class… and this is with the PVC build which I’ve read is supposed to be more survivable. I’ve tried the zerker build which is even worse for someone who hasn’t played for years. Can someone help me with either build or something so I can at least play the game? It’s really not enjoyable to just wander around a map until you’re murdered in under 2 seconds. I used to be almost an even match up with a ranger… then they did a patch and rangers became immortal gods who could hunt me in stealth and half of their arrow barrage downs me. Any help would be appreciated.

1- WvW is not balance and anet doesnt even try to balance, because almost all the class balance is based on pvp conquest mode fight in a node.

2-Thief shoudnt have problems to 1v1, specially in wvw where you can easily reset the fight if you see that you are losing it.

3- Thief and mesmer are the most op 1v1 classes

4-Try a p/d perplexity or a sw/dg zerker if you want an easy and effective build

So almost everyone in this topic, on the forums and everyone I know in game thinks too much RNG is bad. When are we getting a fix for it?

Mirror blade already gives mesmer too much might on a super short cooldown and unblockable skill. If shatter mesmer needs one thing is a nerf.
