Leaving aside the OP’s hysterical anger for a moment, if I have Blacklight or Flare on all 41 of my characters (I don’t btw) I’d like to think I’d be getting something a little more than an Unidentified Dye for each. I’m not one for freaking out about refunds or compensation but it doesn’t seem quite right.

You’ll have to wait for the Bazaar to come around again I think. I’m pretty sure none of the scraps or boxes were tradeable.

That’s what it looks like. They’re opening a lot of things up.

Skins is different to equipment. I don’t see much in the way of a back-track here.

I think the first time I broke all my armor was when I was doing a (very difficult) JP with a Charr. I didn’t know Swiftness existed back then, and I was a a Charr in a JP.

That left me with several emotional scars.

Dying due to a JP, suggests falling to your death. In which case, those deaths don’t damage your armour.

The one on the western edge of Caledon can burn your armour away on death. That’s where I first broke all my armour.

Another thing leaders need is the ability to send mail to more than 3 people within the guild before getting blocked – I know the blocking is there to reduces spamming, but if it only applied to guild leaders/officers mailing guild members it would not be an issue.

Also, Anet promised guild halls were coming when GW2 first began – so where are they? Could they be incorporated into the rebuild of LA?

Because there still should be a penalty for sloppy or in-over-your-head play (and any other reason why you get defeated). Surely you don’t want to make GW2 players any lazier than they seem to be already?

If anet didn’t want us to speculate, then perhaps they shouldn’t’ve made this a week long daily blog update to get the players hyped up about the posts, giving us only vague titles that hinted at what was to come. Anet has no one to blame but themselves.

That’s right. At the end of the day, it’s introducing an option to block the whispers; not actually block automatically. It’s an option that you control. And my suggestion did ensure that you couldn’t use the block function to harrass someone without them being able to reply. If I’d gone at this recklessly I might have suggested blocking in game mail from strangers too.

I see (I think). So having some sort of optional criteria or checkbox to allow/control who can whisper you? Now that sounds like something.

Yeah, I suppose you can spam all sorts of private dribble over /map or /say.

No worries. It would be nice to still get them as a bonus from harvesting but I suspect that’s included as a drop.

Sudden thought: Infinite harvest tool with a bonus for Unidentified dyes!

I keep reading on here that Unidentified Dyes are going to stop dropping. The question I have is where did it say that? I don’t remember reading that in the article. I am confused by that.

Looks like you’ve lost interest not losing interest.

I get my jollies by creating characters and then running around to hit stuff. The first you don’t want to do and the second, I’d imagine, would make you eyes glaze over after five minutes. You could always give it a go and see if it wakes things up.

If you come back now then there’s a good chance there will people around to help out. On my server at least, anyway. The end of LS1 seems to have released everybody back out into the wild.

And I keep running into newbies.

If they’re just armour in your bag you can wear them any time you like. The day this game charges you to change actual “physical” armour, armour with stats and not just a skin, is the day 100% of the player base walks away.

Do AC after Destiny Edge’s meeting in LA, before meeting your Order mentor.

The others I’m not sure about since I haven’t done them.

I’ve not seen anything written either but I very much doubt they would change this. Don’t ask me why. I’m way too tired to think properly but its just a feeling. Same reason why weapon skins won’t be usable by the incorrect professions, if you want to think of it like that.

You can if you want but it seems pretty obvious to me that if you have Hot Pink unlocked only one character now then you’ll have it unlocked across all after the update. I could be wrong but I don’t think I am.

This thread did turn into a feedback thread on the changes, but I am certainly more curious about community reactions. I agree with what a lot of people have said: it is possible that the initial reactions of elation were tempered by further introspection and speculation. Also, people who feel negatively are more likely to post feedback. But I guess I’m wondering, was anyone upset about it and then after further thought became really excited?

Having a lot of alts, I won’t miss dye drops in exchange for account bound dyes, ever.

I just had one drop from a blueberry bush and got my little rush of pleasure. I’m going to miss that but I wonder how long it will be before I forget that even used to happen.

The update isn’t for three weeks. In that time, wouldn’t you guys use your spare Marjory skins if you had the opportunity? I’ve got a stack of gem store skins unused and I’m looking at them as “free” transmutes if I’ve not had a chance to use them by then.

I have two characters that aren’t even wearing one at the moment. Still breezing through the levels so they aren’t missing the stats.

All my 80s are currently having a much earned break from doing much of anything while a few more characters try to break into that club. Some of them are going through their lockers to see if they need any new gear, and a few more might decide to have a backpacking holiday and visit new maps they’ve never been to before but overall they are just sitting in a bar enjoying the Lkittenus.

That would make them more expensive. There must have been a glut of quaggihide for a while. I blame drunk norns.

I always use Happy Hunting but I’ve never used it for WvW. I didn’t even know it was in common use since I’ve never heard anyone else say it. It does seem a bit off when using it for WvW but I can see how it would still apply. If WvW was more like RvR (for those who know) then it would go without saying.

Each map could have an armour skin that only drops there. Each world boss could have its own armour skin. Make them all rare drops, even stupidly rare, and people would still be a little happier than having to buy them off the Shop. I have no problems with buying gems and using them so a combination of drops and Shop item may not be too bad. Maybe along the lines of finally get your six skins and buy the “something” from the shop to put another dye channel on them if you haven’t used them yet. No extra dye channel if you don’t.

A bit of interest does need to be thrown in the armour collection direction.

Hopefully any character that hasn’t hit 30 yet can be part of the grand exploration experiment. I’ve just started leveling a new squad of alts and I’d like them to be able to unlock things when they get around to it.

Mantelet Refuge. I’d fight through that horde of dredge twice every day on my commute to and from Hoelbrak.

I’m all for cosmetic stuff and I’d probably like to have one of these items, and I’ve been watching it get closer to the top of the super expensive list. Its a bit of fun. The tone of the thread, though, is just a tad over the top for something cosmetic.

I can still make a character with Mohammed. Where as anything with Jesus in it does not work.

And if somebody reports you, you will have to change your character’s name in 1.5 years from now.

Thats not really true because I have had someone on my server with the name “Mohammed Big Bang” for years now (which I reported) and no action has been taken.

Maybe there was more to the banning of the other Mohammed than just the name.

It’ll probably take a lot of complaining from Moslem players to put it on the “can’t use” list, even though a fair whack of those players might actually be called Mohammed.
