I’m fairly sure that ArenaNet ARE listening to everyone. There’s so much information and opinions on these forums, for them to comment on every single one, AND give us answers would be very unrealistic.
They can only give us answers on stuff that is definite i.e. content they’ve finished.
They can’t turn around and answer as soon as a question is ask and say “Yeah, we’ll do this” because they could start working on it, then it not end up working. And what will happen then? “But you promised us!…” people will be shouting!
ArenaNet are not politicians, they are game designers. They don’t want to break promises.
I’m on Piken Square myself, and the RP is affected here too. What makes us great gamers though, is the ability to adapt. Who knows, maybe they will do an RP tag for us. But they’re not going to announce before it’s been made, and I certainly think it’d be a bad idea for them to say “Hey, we’ll look into that idea” and it not happen too. That would break people’s hearts more.

What he’s saying is that Rp is not the only problem anet is ignoring. Problems such as server 2v1 or megaserver affecting guild missions may affect even more people yet anet does nothing
You are right on the dot with that one.
Except that one of his problems isn’t a problem at all. If you’re on a server nobody likes at the time then you’re going to be crunched by the others. Its just politics and nothing for Anet to deal with.

Play what you want to play, and tweak it for different play modes until you’re happy. That’s my advice. If you’re good enough to suit yourself then you’ll be fine.

There’s nothing in the shop that is required to play the game. Extra bag slots are only purchasable in the shop but aren’t compulsory. Nice to have, though. All the little boosters and other knicknacks can be collected through daily rewards (sometimes) and map completions through the odd chance of getting a key.

These are things I have no control over. Even getting pugs into TS is like driving a ball of cats through a car wash.
So being a commander gives you the right to tell me what software to put on my computer? Get kittened. I don’t want your voice in my home. If a commander can’t be bothered to put a two or three word comment into chat for people who don’t (for whatever reason) have teamspeak then that commander isn’t one to follow.

Yes this takes away the “grrr, MMOs are serious business” by having players in non-spiky armor. But I would be temped to by a Jayne “style” knit cap for a warrior (hint, hint).

Don’t think you made a mistake because you didn’t. You can use them any time but its just cheaper to use them at 80 until you have a stack of charges stored up.

Ok. The champ train bags were designed as an appropriate reward for starter chars killing them, not fully rigged level 80s killing them ez mode on an endless loop. They are appropriate for the zone and the expected level killing them. Don’t be expecting ANet to cater to level 80s getting a bunch of them while neglecting level appropriate content.
I would propose they should limit the loot accordingly then. I wouldn’t mind this at all. I’m not there to mindlessly press 1 at each of the current Champions.
That being said, perhaps my suggestion would be too steep for 1-15 characters. The patchwork bag would actually be pretty neat. What about using the bags as a base to make bigger bags via crafting?
Lets say:
10 Bolts of Wool
1 Minor Rune of Holding
1 Yellow Bag
And it creates a 10-slot yellow wool bag. Simply throw a bag into the existing recipes for 10-, 12-, 15-, 18-, and 20-slot bags to create a bigger bag of that color. And as a bonus, if you throw 4 bags of a different color in the Mystic Forge, you get a same-slot patchwork bag (as suggested by Kaz.5430).
They could set something up like this for a whole range of coloured, basic back packs similar to how making the spinal blade thing works. It would add some nice variety.

In all seriousness though, I don’t really get this insecurity people are showing. I don’t give a rat’s if the devs don’t say anything, or spread info out over a large span of time, or whatever. The game is still running and I’m still running around killing the bad guys and taking their stuff. But that’s just me, each to their own.

My only qualms is that it can conflict with the Living World making things weird like LA.
It doesnt conflict with anything. The personal story takes place loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong before the LS does in the timeline. The fact that LA appears the same as it does in certain PS missions is irrelevant.
For those of us who have seen LA prior to Scarlet’s attack, though, it is somewhat… disorientating. I mean, things like Tybalt “selling” his apples in a city that has been reduced to ash, or working your way around debris from the Breachmaker to speak to General Soulkeeper seem more than a little “whut?” to me.
Indeed. Any time I’m sent to LA on my personal story now I die a little inside.
I think it still works well. Destiny’s Edge meeting somewhere sort of private and the apple seller trying to sell his product to the workers and few people who moved back in. I was surprised how well it carried.

They had class specific armour in Daoc that you quested for starting at level 12ish and going through to max level. No reason why they couldn’t do something similar for us here. Except for not wanting to, of course. The end armour could even be Legendary.

Adiantum Skythorn, on the battlefield and about to visit the bank (they might ask her to take her helmet off). It took forever to find somewhere light enough to get a decent screenie and it still looks too dark for details.
The trick I’ve found is to face into the light. Look where your shadow is pointing and put that behind you. If your settings don’t show shadow, pan around your character to see which side is lit up, and turn your front to that side. This game has a dramatic difference based on lighting angle — I was RPing in a cave with some people the other night and my light minty green leaves were a dull blue on the shadowed side.
Yeah, I tried doing that and I still wasn’t satisfied. After I posted I found a place that seemed absolutely perfect for lighting but do you think I remember where it was?Nope. The character’s colouring is even too dark for details to be seen clearly on my character selection screen, though that is probably something on my side.

Find new people to hang out with. Not everyone cares for APs. All they mean is that people have experienced many parts of the game. It doesn’t make them good players. Keep doing what you want to do and you’ll eventually find like minded people.

Plenty of people have two accounts. As long you don’t start using third party stuff then you have nothing to worry about. Put your gold through a personal guild too.

Back to the topic, with Darks Ages although the housing expansion was nice, the ability for the user was limited by these ‘hook points’(for certain items), however Everquest 2 allowed a totally editable user experience being able to add floors to a home etc.
I think for Guild Wars 2 it is important to look at the community as a whole, one of the reasons for the MegaServer of GW2 was to populate zones again. The introduction of player housing would have a detrimental effect on the population of zones if the need to avoid the main city or hubs is taken away, therefore I think it would be important that a house is a house and that people still need to go to cities for crafting, merchants etc. (This is for personal housing – A guild hall main hub with all types of benefits is welcome in my books – something similar to GW1)
This sort of brings me back to a post I tried to put in here but died when the forums crapped out and I had to relog in.
I sometimes think on a system where you could start with a base species-specific house and add to it with modules, also species specific. You could stick with your little Sylvari hut with whatever decorations, add ons, and bonuses they give you for it, or you could have a Norn lodge base and build it up to the biggest Norn lodge you can; or start with a Krytan house and add on a few floors with a Norn roof, a couple of Asura labs, a Charr stockade, and a Sylvari watch tree.
Its all just fantasy but we can only dream.
I have to agree with the crafting and merchant thing. It wouldn’t be the GW2 way.

I just deleted the text on why I think GW2 is the superior game but my opinion really leans towards there being a GW1 subforum here somewhere so you GW1 vets have somewhere to reminisce while keeping to a GW2 bent.
I’ve only been playing the older game for a few weeks and as soon as I get to 10 in my HoM I won’t be looking into it much further. Though, I’d really like that spider for one of my rangers…

I read something about them working on low fps do to a lot of players gathering in the same area.
I too have noticed a drop in fps when around a large groups of people and I’m over the minimum requirements.
I get it mostly with Ulgoth for some reason. My guildie who plays on a laptop has a marginally better framerate for the same events at the same time so there’s some technical stuff happening but its still pretty ugly.

I played Dark ages until late last year. This sounds like a cross over between DAoC and Everquest 2 style of housing. I’d back this idea 100%, it would be great if we could have crafted items that we could add to our own home!
Although crafting would enable us to create items for our home, there should be other methods like housing karma merchants and basic items for coin.
Yea, for housing to be worth it, imo….you would need the ability to have several different hook points in the house, depending on size of the house, for all sorts of things you could add to the interior…..similar to DaoC.
Housing was one of the nicer additions to DaoC imo…..that game used to be really cool years ago.
Plenty of Mythic devs working still so maybe they could hunt down one or two of the housing ones. A GW2 spin on how Daoc had its housing could go either way but it would likely be pretty nice.

I don’t want to rain on the GW1 pride parade here but there’s a lot of people who play this game who won’t know what these dungeons are, or care. If Anet are to introduce them into this game somehow then they’d have to do it so you guys will get your nostalgic loin trembles as well as making it exciting for the rest of us.
Though by the time they do if ever introduce them I might have got far enough into GW1 to know what all the fuss is about.
