I’m almost never in main (Tarnished Coast NA), but I’ve gotten 1200 in many an overflow. Last night we got it just as Magnus called the evac, fun!

I wish I had anywhere near the luck of you and it seems so many other people. I always hear people in map chat talking about how almost every overflow they get into hits 1200. I’ve hit it once out of 15+ attempts, and most of them it seems aren’t even trying (most barely hit 900 if that).

Aim to guest in one of the big servers and get the overflows that come from that. Works for me. Worked for Marionette quite often too.

One person’s grind is likely to be another’s carnival o’fun. If anybody feels like they’re being forced to do something they don’t like in a video game then they should step back and consider the options. Plenty of people have already.

Really, you’re better off not waiting for any potential that you can see being achieved. What your perceived potential is and what the devs are working towards are most likely two different paths. Maybe not but likely. That way can lead to bitter disappointment.

People should play the game for what it is now and not hold on desperately for something glittering coming down the line. But, people being people, not everyone can do that. It’s one of the things that I both love and frustrates the crap out of me about individuality. Each to their own.

It’s very easy to come and go with GW2.

Oh, and to answer the question: no it’s not wrong. Go free OP and find your fun and satisfaction wherever you can (as long as its legal).

Endgame is whatever you make it. It doesn’t have to be WvW. There are quite a few things to do. If WvW is the best of a bad lot for you then I’m not sure what can be done.

If you’re able to change the idea that a large group of players running together in WvW is an army and not a zerg then you might be able to look at it differently. The armies of three servers meeting in glorious combat! That won’t help with the steamrolled part, though.

Had one today which was nice. There was a fair bit of surprise registered in /map.

Leo, the fact that some people are trying to hide while they’re AFK’ing suggests that they do know what they are doing is wrong. Some people won’t have a clue but others will know full well what they’re doing. Maybe Anet should make an announcement somewhere on what they expect from player behaviour (if the whole premise of this thread is true then they should) in this event, but some people know they cutting close to the line.

In retrospect, maybe this outrage against afkers is indeed a cultural thing as timmyf pointed out.. I grew up playing MMOs where leeching is not only tolerated, but is actually the norm. Where people sit in dungeons while partied with higher level characters to get a chance at looting that rare card or where powerleveling is the best and even most advised method to gain exp etc. :/

Being powerlevelled in a group for that purpose is different to porting into the LA event and standing at the portal for the duration. Its one thing to get your mates to help you level to max in a few hours, and another to do nothing and hope to reap the Ultimate reward. The difference isn’t very big but it’s there.

I’ve mentioned previously that I played an MMO where the daily is to just log in the game for an hour straight. Everyone gets a chance of getting something for doing nothing.

That’s fine, I don’t really care. I really dislike uninvited leechers. I don’t like dole bludgers either.

I don’t think most people have a problem if someone AFKs for a few minutes to take a bathroom break, take a phone call or whatever comes up. It’s the people that auto run into the gate during the pre-event to make sure they get in right away and then stand at the entrance AFK for the entire time that people don’t care for. They are taking a spot from someone that wants to play the event just so they can get free loot.

And the people that spend the event hiding behind waterfalls, houses, and in the back of the ogre cave. I saw all that last night. Pretty kitten aggravating when we could have got the 1200 before the event finished instead of afterward. Though, that bit was tense and fun.

This would be nice. If they did it, and I asked nicely, I wonder if they’d back date it to six months after Doac was released. That’s when my poor RNG luck commenced lol. Maybe they could on-charge to EA Mythic.

On a slightly pedantic note, since you can’t delete your account you can check out anytime you like but you can never leave.

Anet still might refund the gems, can only ask.

It’s not even painted skin. It’s a sculpted material that covers the vast majority of the character’s actual flesh, just like that Batman and Robin armor I posted.

Also, why is it, that in every picture you’ve posted claiming that this armor shows nipples, the character only has ONE?

You are literally making things up and completely ignoring evidence to the contrary. It’s not sculpted anything. The armor turns your character’s skin blue. I posted the proof in image form, you can see where I overlapped two screenshots of the same character with and without it. There is no change in physical proportions to prove your claim that it’s something added over top of the character’s body. At all.

As far as the multiplication of nipples is concerned, I see two. Have you even looked at it in game? It’s pretty obvious there too.

Manipulated screenshots =/= proof. I’ve been toying with my camera on my Mesmer, trying to figure out what you’re allegedly seeing and still can’t make them show up. I managed to get ONE of those white swirls in the armor to line up “correctly” and look like your screenshot, but that’s not a nipple.

It’s called selective perception.

I have Sylvari mesmer that wears the creepy smiley mask and it looks alright. Looks not bad with the new armour as well but my guy is blue in colour already so it suits. The sad mask though is a dust gatherer for one of my other mesmers. If we ever get housing it might be nice to able to put them up as trophies.

Its been the 19th at my place for 9 hours now. You have to learn to roll with the punches.

I have to say that I’m a little surprised (not shocked or horrified or amazed, just surprised) the update isn’t quite ready yet. I tend to update before work and have a little look around.

Time zones are a global thing. Because the Earth is round, and rotates around the sun, each time zone starts at a different time. As the Earth rotates each hour, the sun reaches a new zone on the surface of the planet. Time zones help to determine the correct start time of each day, so that foreigners have an easier time understanding why America’s daylight time is different than that of another country.

That is true, and I have done that before, but I am very good at keeping things clean….except my desk. So sometimes I throw away papers that look like junk.

Perhaps I will be more ready with a pen and paper next update(s). But honestly there is no reason they shouldn’t have this feature. It really grinds my gears when a newer MMO is missing a basic feature that MMO’s had many years ago.

Complaints don’t necessarily mean that people care about the game. I think we’ve all seen plenty of new starters commence the complaining on the forums not too long after their first log in. They don’t even know the game.

Here’s something many people don’t get. If there are many things to complain about then why even play. People don’t complain about things they like only things they don’t like, or that affect them adversely. People aren’t going to see that the many things are actually less than all the things a complainer will like, which is what keeps them playing. This is one of the things that makes a gaming forum a chaotic and argumentative (and fun!) place.

So, you’re saying you want less options? There’s no reason you would have to use the same colors on different characters…just because you have a dye doesn’t mean you have to use it.

I’ve always thought this. The open world dungeons were my favourite part of my all-time-favourite mmo (already name checked in the thread). A Molten Alliance themed underground map beneath Wayfarer/Diessa would be nice. They could instance off a couple of spots for some sort of “mission” maybe, or just leave it all open for business as usual.

41 characters and I only have one that suits these. I really like them though. Very elegant. I had a bunch of tickets and now my very girly mesmer has a bunch of suitable weapons skins.

These are great for my girly girl mesmer with a healing bent. Had tickets, bought some. Pretty much the opposite of what the OP thinks.

Fair enough. For me, the animation was a nice bonus (and I do think it looks better than the Bone Pick. The Watchwork Pick is about as appealing as the Molten Pick to me in terms of aesthetics), but the major reason I bought it was so I wouldn’t need to bother with buying mining picks ever again. Or bother with swapping pcks in higher/lower level zones.

Considering the Watchwork Pick can do this AND give me extra goodies into the bargain, if I ever needed to equip new alts with picks, I’d be buying the Watchwork Pick, not the Molten one.

Fair enough also. I have no problem with this point of view which is why I’ve pretty much stayed out of the conversation. I only buy these things for aesthetics. The Bone Pick doesn’t match any of my alt army so its stayed in the shop. Same with the Halloween thing. I’ve already got sprockets coming out of every orifice so the addition of their collection is more annoying than anything else. If they were all ugly I wouldn’t but any of them.

Constantly including all accounts is a bit silly. It doesn’t even give the residents of a particular server an idea of how many people are active. Inactive accounts for six months, just say, probably should be shuffled off to the side. When and if that player ever comes back then they can be counted again.

I’d love to have a dual wielding pistol guardian. Don’t ask me what the skills there would be but it would something different in the scheme of things.
